Banking on attention: The need for BFSI marketing to engage customers between UPI and Instagram

Banking on attention: The need for BFSI marketing to engage customers between UPI and Instagram

The financial services sector is at a pivotal juncture as India moves closer to its Digital Bharat vision, with the expectations of a generation of digital natives reshaping legacy institutions. The FINIXX Summit & Awards 2025, which has as its forward-thinking topic "Reimagining BFSI: Powering Digital Bharat Goals," put this change front and center. In order to examine the changing relationship between technology, trust, and consumer engagement in the BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) industry, a diverse group of marketing experts, digital strategists, and financial innovators convened for the summit.Experts discussed how rapidly changing consumer behavior is upending traditional marketing strategies in a fascinating panel titled "The Next-Gen BFSI Consumer: Understanding & Engaging Digital-First Audiences." They also discussed what it will take to foster trust, loyalty, and meaningful engagement in an increasingly app-first and attention-deficit world. The panel, which was presided over by Teamology Softech and Media Services Vice President of Growth and Strategy Lawrence Suchitha, included marketing directors from top BFSI institutions: VP of Digital Marketing at HDFC Bank, Aashir Allana AVP of Social Media Marketing at Tata Capital, Nikita Dilip Gupta SBI General Insurance's Head of Marketing and CSR, Rathin Lahiri Varun Mundra, Motilal Oswal Financial Services' Head of Media & Innovations Vishal Lohia, Hybrid Associate Director of Sales."The BFSI landscape has decisively moved from branch-first to app-first engagement," said Lawrence Suchitha, who opened the debate. Consumers of today need digital experiences that are quick, simple, and integrated—all while maintaining the transparency and trust that have traditionally characterized our industry. "The next-gen customer has never seen a passbook or stepped inside a branch," said Aashir Allana of HDFC Bank, emphasizing the point. They view the bank as an app rather than a physical establishment.Allana asserts that modern consumers evaluate their banking experiences by comparing them to Netflix, Amazon, and Zepto rather than other banks. "They want Zepto-level speed and Netflix-level personalization." Despite their impatience and impulsivity, they have a strong research bent. They expect the application procedure to take three minutes, but they will spend hours comparing credit cards. He pointed out that because of this behavioral mismatch, marketers must reach users "somewhere between Instagram and a UPI app."

As Q3 growth jumps 5.7%, Arthur Sadoun praises Publicis' AI-powered pace.

As Q3 growth jumps 5.7%, Arthur Sadoun praises Publicis' AI-powered pace.

Building on its impressive organic growth of +5.7% for the third quarter of 2025 (Q3'25), Publicis Groupe has increased its prediction for organic growth for the entire year. The quarter's great performance outperformed the first half of 2025's high growth of +5.4%.The business has increased its forecast for organic growth in the full year (FY) 2025 to a new range of +5% to +5.5%. This represents an improvement over the original estimate of +4% to +5%. A number of factors, including consistent client spending (without any significant budget cuts or slowdowns) and growing demand for its AI-powered goods and services, underpin the decision to increase the outlook. Long-term scope development with current clients, a robust business environment for new ventures, and a more advantageous competitive environment are all important growth drivers.Arthur Sadoun, Publicis Groupe's chairman and CEO, "Q3 was yet another excellent quarter, exceeding forecasts, with no slowdown in customer demand.  At Publicis, we are proving that artificial intelligence is not a pipe dream but rather a current reality that is propelling our expansion. We are demonstrating once more how our distinct AI-powered methodology may help us acquire market share and establish ourselves as a Category of One.  We achieved organic growth of +5.7%, which significantly widened the gap with our counterparts by over 700bps2. In addition to not seeing any significant reductions in marketing expenditures, we also witnessed a surge in demand for our AI-powered goods and services. This was evident in our Epsilon-powered Connected advertising initiatives, which had high single-digit growth as a result of our capacity to use AI to link influencers, commerce, and paid advertising. Due to the growing demand for customized content, our AI production platform experienced double-digit growth. Additionally, Publicis Sapient maintained its favorable results for the second consecutive quarter thanks to our capacity to create agentic networks for clients that are looking to de-silo their own businesses. We anticipate that this upward trend will continue throughout Q4. Because of this, we are comfortable raising the higher end of our prediction to +5.5% for our 2025 organic growth guidance. Additionally, we are reporting that our already industry-leading margin has improved to just over 18% throughout the course of the year. With net new billings for the first nine months of the year already surpassing our 2024 total, we are now planning for 2026 because of our unparalleled new business track record. For the seventh consecutive year, we anticipate outperforming the industry the following year. I want to express my gratitude to our teams for their exceptional work in getting us to this point and to our clients for their ongoing trust.

Castrol India's MD Steps Down, New CEO Takes Over

Castrol India's MD Steps Down, New CEO Takes Over

A significant participant in the lubricant industry, Castrol India, is going through a leadership change. The present Managing Director, Kedar Lele, will leave at the end of December 2025 in order to pursue other possibilities. He continues to serve as Wholetime Director & Head of B2C Sales, although the company has named Saugata Basuray as Interim CEO, effective January 2026.A board decision states that Lele will formally step down as Managing Director on December 31, 2025, at the end of business. His decision to "pursue other opportunities" is cited as the reason. Since assuming leadership duties not long ago, his time as MD has been rather short.Saugata Basuray will take on the additional role of Interim CEO on January 1, 2026, until a new Managing Director is chosen. He is still employed in his previous role as Head of B2C Sales and Wholetime Director. His title will be changed to "Wholetime Director & Interim CEO" in light of the new hire. Having worked for Castrol since 1999 in a variety of leadership roles across verticals and territories, Basuray is an experienced veteran of the organization. Internal stability and continuity: Castrol India appears to emphasize stability during transition if it selects a leader who is already a part of the organization. Leadership development: While a more permanent replacement is being found, Basuray is a viable temporary option due to his extensive expertise and institutional memory. Market reaction: The revelation caused the company's share price to slightly decline, indicating that investors are sensitive to changes in the company's leadership. The upcoming strategic period: This change in leadership comes at a time when the lubricant industry is dealing with issues related to changing mobility trends, like electric cars, the need for sustainability, and shifting automotive ecosystems.

KBC 17: A child who is "overconfident" enters the hot seat and requests that Amitabh Bachchan not explain the regulations; they depart without receiving any compensation. "Mujhe, rules vules pata hai.

Presenting a special kids' edition, Amitabh Bachchan's Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 showcases intelligent young candidates who frequently dazzle spectators with their charm and humor. A recent show, however, garnered notice for a different reason: a young participant's overconfident demeanor and somewhat impolite remarks toward Big B went viral. The video has already gone viral on social media, and the child eventually left without receiving any cash.Since Amitabh entered the hot seat, the child has been seen speaking brutally to him in a video that has gone viral on social media. The child, Ishit Bhatt, is a fifth-grade student from Gandhinagar, Gujarat.A fifth-grade student from Gandhinagar, Gujarat named Ishit Bhatt participated in the Junior edition of KBC 17. After he said to Amitabh Bachchan, "Mere ko rules pata hai, isliye aap mereko abhi rules samjhane mat baithna" (I know the rules, so don't start explaining them to me right now), his segment swiftly became the buzz of social media. Even Big B looked momentarily surprised as the audience gasped.Ishit's demands and interruptions persisted as the game started. The boy interrupted Amitabh before he could complete reading the questions, saying, "Arre option daalo!" (Come on, show me the possibilities!) & "Sir ek kya, lekin lock karo, uss mein chaar lock lagado!" (Sir, make sure to lock it with four locks, not just one. Many were annoyed by his arrogance, while others found it amusing.Ishit firmly selected Ayodhya Kanda, which turned out to be incorrect, when asked, "What is the name of the first Kanda of the Valmiki Ramayana?" The right response was Bala Kanda. Amitabh Bachchan kindly remarked, "Kabhi kabhi bachhe over confidence mein galti kar dete hai" (Sometimes children make mistakes due to overconfidence) when he lost all of his gains. With thousands of views, the episode's footage went popular on X (previously Twitter). The boy's tone was criticized by many people as being impolite and haughty. An individual commented, "Arrogance got schooled." Perhaps the parents will learn now. "Knowledge without manners is useless," another person said. Others, on the other hand, defended the boy, claiming that social media was being too harsh on a minor and that he was just overexcited.

Company Behind 'Bigg Boss Kannada' Takes Legal Action Against Premises Sealing and Contestant Eviction by Pollution Control Board

Company Behind 'Bigg Boss Kannada' Takes Legal Action Against Premises Sealing and Contestant Eviction by Pollution Control Board

VELS Studio And Entertainment Private Limited, the host of the reality show 'Big Boss Kannada' at its Bidadi location, has approached the Karnataka High Court to contest an October 6 order from the State Pollution Control Board that mandated the immediate closure of the studio premises. The petition claims that the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board's action is arbitrary, illegal, and lacks jurisdiction, authority, and compliance with due process. It indicates that the closure order dated 06.10.2025 was carried out on the following day, 07.10.2025 (Tuesday), concerning the petitioner's property located in Bidadi, Ramanagara District, which contains the legitimate operations of VELS Studios and Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. The petition claims that the order was issued with complete disregard for natural justice principles, denying the petitioner a chance to be heard.According to the plea, the respondents have tried to suddenly stop ongoing television production activities, including filming the well-known reality show "BIG BOSS", while acting beyond their authority and with a clear intention to harm. Moreover, it is claimed that the timing and rush involved in passing and executing the order—occurring as they did at the same time as the launch and public broadcast of that show—demonstrate a conscious and intentional effort to disrupt the Petitioner's legitimate business activities and impede its commercial operations. Additionally, the plea argues that the order lacks details regarding the supposed pollutant, including its characteristics, concentration, and the method by which this pollution is alleged to have happened. Without these specifics, the order turns indistinct, capricious, and lacks justification. Moreover, the Respondent authority has not documented even minimal findings as mandated by law for a quasi-judicial order, thus breaching fundamental principles of natural justice.an industrial establishment or factory. According to Section 2(d) of the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, an "environmental pollutant" is defined as any substance that exists at a concentration detrimental to human life. Data from laboratory or clinical tests must necessarily support such a finding. In the current case, no such data or test report has been used as a basis. The Respondent's actions have been based solely on assumptions, which has made the impugned order arbitrary and unsustainable. The plea requests that the closure order be set aside. Meanwhile, it is seeking a stay on the operation of the order from October 6 and a direction to the respondents not to disrupt the daily business carried out at those premises.

September 22 GST changes: Under the new tax structure, which goes into effect on Monday, items falling within these categories will be subject to the newly revised highest tax rate of 40% GST. View the items' list here. After its 56th meeting on September 3, 2025, the GST Council, which is led by the Indian federal government, voted to streamline the indirect tax system in India by redesigning the current goods and service tax (GST) slab structure into a "two-tier" system.Indian customers will benefit from a revamped "two-tier" tax structure that goes into effect on Monday, September 22, 2025. Depending on the type of commodity sold in the country, it will be subject to either the 5% or 18% tax band. In India, GST is now imposed in four slabs: 5%, 12%, 18%, and 28%. However, the government has since modified these slabs. Many products sold in the Indian economy will see price reductions as a result of the federal government's action; nevertheless, starting Monday, a wide range of products will also be subject to higher consumer taxes. 1. Sin Goods: Generally speaking, sin goods are things that are detrimental to society and health, such as cigarettes and pan masala. Luxury cars: Four-wheelers with an internal combustion engine (ICE) capacity greater than 1,200cc and a length greater than four meters were also placed in a 40% tax level by the GST Council. In the past, the ex-showroom pricing of SUVs and MPVs, which are included in this group, was increased by 28% GST and 22% Cess. 3. Over 350cc two-wheelers: The GST Council raised the tax rate for two-wheelers with engines larger than 350cc from 28% GST and 3% Cess to 40%. Despite the removal of the Cess levy, two-wheelers with engines larger than 350cc will now be subject to a higher tax rate. 4. Soft drinks: The central government raised the GST rate from 28% to 40%, which will result in a price increase for soft drinks and other non-alcoholic beverages like Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Fanta, and flavor-infused waters. 5. Items that cost more when you're in the 18% tax bracket: Items that will be subject to GST at the higher 18% slab starting on Monday, September 22, 2025, include dining at restaurants, particularly those with air conditioning and premium outlets; consumer durables like refrigerators, washing machines, and air conditioners; beauty and grooming services at salons and spas; and high-end smartphones and imported devices.

Under the new plan, the government is set to merge the four slabs into two main categories with an additional “sin tax" bracket: 5% slab — for essential goods. 18% slab – for most other goods and services. 40% slab – for luxury and sin goods such as tobacco, alcohol, betting, and online gaming. Closing Bell: Sensex up 324 points, Nifty above 24,950; IT and PSU Banks rise, automobiles down

On September 10, Indian equities indices concluded well, with the Nifty closing above 24,950. The Nifty was up 104.5 points, or 0.42 percent, at 24,973.10 at the closing, while the Sensex was up 323.83 points, or 0.40 percent, at 81,425.15.We'll be returning tomorrow morning with all the most recent news and alerts as we wind up today's Moneycontrol live market blog. To view all of the global market activity, please visit https://www.moneycontrol.com/markets/global-indices.On Wednesday, markets gained almost half a percent, continuing their upward trajectory. Following a gap-up beginning, the Nifty index spent the first half of the day moving within a small range. However, volatility in the second half of the day reduced some gains, and it ultimately finished around 24,973 levels. With advances of more than 2.5 percent, the IT sector maintained its recovery, followed by the real estate, banking, and energy sectors. The auto industry, on the other hand, saw profit booking following multiple outperforming sessions, losing more than 1%. With the midcap and smallcap indices rising between 0.75% and 1%, market breadth stayed strong, supporting the bullish tone in both frontline and broader markets.Positive foreign capital market flows following a period of persistent depreciation, as well as increased confidence regarding the status of trade discussions between the US and India, helped to boost sentiment and maintain the upswing.Although the markets are slowly rising due to encouraging signals, the Nifty will need to maintain its participation from the two main industries—banking and IT—in order to progress toward the 25,250–25,400 range. Support has moved to the 24,650–24,750 level on the downside. In order to build up fundamentally sound counters across the board, we advise employing intermediate drops or consolidation phases while keeping a positive bias.

152 road segments in Delhi will receive significant renovations once the Center approves a Rs 803 crore investment.

With the Center accepting the Delhi government's proposal for Rs 803 crore in funding, 152 important sections, including the Ring Road and other flyovers, totaling more than 330 km throughout the Capital, are scheduled to undergo a significant makeover that includes repair, reconstruction, and resurfacing.According to officials, the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) money were granted earlier this month by the Minister for Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), who also requested administrative approval for the projects from the Delhi government. The MoRTH's CRIF program gives states and Union territory money to build and maintain important roads and infrastructure."Delhi is witnessing a new era of infrastructure development," stated Parvesh Sahib Singh, Minister of the Public Welfare Department (PWD). Roads are the lifeblood of any contemporary city, and by fortifying these vital thoroughfares, we are guaranteeing millions of commuters' safety, speed, and sustainability every day."This project aims to build top-notch urban infrastructure that fulfills the dreams of all Delhiites, not just fix roads," he continued.PWD officials insisted that this "project will take the Capital a giant step closer to the vision of a Viksit Delhi" and that the city would see one of the most comprehensive road upgrade and infrastructure development programs in recent years. Roads in the Central, North, East, Northeast, Shahdara, and Northwest districts will be upgraded, new corridors will be built, flyovers will be developed, and roads will be strengthened, resurfaced, and widened, according to officials. The Kashmiri Gate ISBT to Wazirabad, Vikas Marg, ITO circle, Ferozshah road, and the Nizamuddin to Kalkaji stretch are some of the important sections that will undergo repairs and improvements. Another important route that will be extended is the Noida Link Road, which links Noida to Central and East Delhi. In order to relieve traffic and enhance connectivity in Outer, West, and Northeast Delhi, the PWD also intends to build three new flyovers at the Rajouri Garden-Tagore Garden stretch, Rohtak Road (Military Road–Jhansi Road), and on Road 63 and Gokulpuri stretch. The letter from MoRTH to the Delhi Chief Secretary said, "The competent authority in this ministry has agreed to approve the work listed to an amount of Rs 803.39 crore to meet the cost of work debitable to the Government of NCT of Delhi's allocations under the CRIF Act, 2000."

Who is Punjab AAP MLA Harmeet Pathanmajra, who is evading the police of his own government?

Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, a first-time MLA from a long line of political heavyweights, has always been the target of controversy. Police from his own government chased the Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Sanaur in the Patiala district on Tuesday.Earlier in the day, Pathanmajra was arrested on rape charges, but he escaped the Punjab Police with the assistance of accomplices who fired at the officers to keep them at bay. At least one police officer was hurt in the altercation after being struck by a car.In recent days, Pathanmajra has publicly criticized the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP administration for its handling of the floods that have devastated the state, despite the fact that the rape charges appear to be from an old case.Pathanmajra, who came to the AAP after briefly joining several other organizations, comes from a family whose members were among the founders of the Akali Dal. Hardev Singh, Pathanmajra's father, was a member of the zila parishad and a Congress sarpanch. It is said that his ancestors paid Rs 10,000 towards the establishment of the Akali Dal in 1920, which was a princely amount at the time.According to Pathanmajra's 2022 election paperwork, the family reportedly has 250–300 acres of agricultural land spread over several states, with assets totaling Rs 2.4 crore. In 1992, the 50-year-old joined the Akali Dal's Badal group as a youth leader, marking the beginning of his political career. He quit in 2011, but he returned to the Akali Dal after a year of experimenting with Manpreet Badal's People's Party of Punjab, an Akali Dal dissident.Following an altercation at a district development panchayat office in 2015, Pathanmajra was dismissed from the Akali Dal for lack of discipline. According to reports, he then looked for a position in Congress and, after the party refused to provide him a ticket, ran as an Independent in the 2017 Assembly elections. Only 11,840 votes were cast for him, and he even forfeited his security deposit.

Cough syrup deaths: TNFDA probe reveals Coldrif manufacturer's shortcomings

"The CDSCO has not participated in any of Sresan Pharma's audits. This company was not included in any of the CDSCO databases since the CDSCO was not involved and the state FDA did not provide the CDSCO with any information on it, according to a source.Rule 84AB of the D and C Rules mandates that manufacturers update all of their certified items on the "Sugam" site, according to another source at the CDSCO.In order to facilitate improved monitoring, the regulation was notified to create a national database of all the authorized items in the nation. Why the most popular (and dubious) fad right now is North West's finger piercing

The Kardashian-Jenner family is known for starting trends, some of which are lighthearted, some of which are outrageous, and others of which are downright dubious. When Kim Kardashian and her 12-year-old daughter North West were spotted in Rome recently, everyone's attention was drawn to North's middle finger dermal piercing.Their excursion has generated a lot of controversy, with Kim facing backlash for permitting her preteen child receive the piercing. However, finger piercings have also gained popularity, and many people are now interested in learning more about them, their process, and their safety.A dermal piercing, also known as a micro dermal or single-point piercing, is a way to change your body where a piece of jewelry is inserted under the skin so that only the pretty top is visible, says Sahil Bali, an artist at Devil'z Tattooz in Delhi. Bali continues by explaining that dermal piercings are single-entry piercings, as opposed to conventional piercings, which enter one side of the skin and exit the other. "They are performed by using a needle or dermal punch to make a tiny pocket in the skin, after which an anchor base is inserted beneath the skin. After that, a decorative stud or gem is put onto the anchor," he explains, adding that these piercings may be done practically anywhere on the body, including the fingers, lower back, cheekbone, and chest, but they take longer to heal than conventional piercings."Dermal piercings need careful cleaning and protection, as they can get easily irritated or caught on things, making them slightly higher maintenance than normal piercings," says Dr. Shireen Furtado, senior consultant, medical and cosmetic dermatology, Aster CMI Hospital, Bengaluru.

Can your hair texture change after postpartum?

Can your hair texture change after postpartum?

Becoming a parent is among the most surreal experiences one can have. It seems as though your heart is bursting with love, but simultaneously, your body can feel more delicate and fatigued than it ever has after the ordeal of giving birth, even though you are amazed by the miracle it has just performed. With hormones fluctuating wildly and energy levels oscillating, you may discover that you are adapting to a new version of yourself on physical, mental, and emotional levels. In the midst of all these changes, your hair starts to narrate its own tale as well. Due to hormonal changes, many women notice significant hair loss in the months following childbirth. However, it often surprises people to learn that not only does the amount of hair change, but sometimes the texture does as well.Your hair may grow straighter if you have curls, or develop waves if it’s straight, and the texture of your locks can change in surprising ways, serving as a reminder that motherhood transforms more than just your routine—it transforms you. Many individuals observe that their hair becomes thicker, shinier, and fuller during pregnancy, resembling a natural glow-up. Dr. Ruben Bhasin Passi, a dermatology consultant at CK Birla Hospital in Gurugram, explains to India Today that this occurs because elevated estrogen levels prolong the hair growth phase, which stops normal shedding. This provides that additional volume and vitality. However, after the baby comes and hormone levels decrease, the narrative shifts. “When there’s a sudden decrease in hormone levels, the body adapts and hair experiences significant changes, which often surprises new mothers,” she adds. The doctor further explains that hair naturally cycles through phases of growth (anagen), rest (catagen), and shedding (telogen). During pregnancy, increased levels of estrogen keep more hair in the growth phase. After childbirth, when estrogen levels decrease, a number of these hairs enter the shedding phase simultaneously.

A fresh appearance turns into your armor; you feel prepared to confront, if not combat, the outside world and put an end to those existentially troubling ideas. After a few uncomfortable months in Paris, away from her family, her first (and only) love, Conrad, and her brother Jeremiah, with whom she almost got married, Belly did the same. In case you missed it (and have been living in a no-Internet zone these past several weeks), that was a reference to The Summer I Turned Pretty.By the way, in the first episode of Season 3, Belly’s then-fiance told her, ‘Hey, don’t ever cut your hair, okay?’ Yet here she was, sporting a French bob - ready to leave behind the wedding mess and finally embrace the new city, and her new self. Adding to the confident new look was a bold red lipstick - another first she chose to debut. “I think women often cut their hair after a breakup or when they want to let go of old baggage and signal to people that they’re ready for change,” Jenny Han, the show’s executive producer and author of the novels that the series is based on, told Vogue."The idea is that you can feel different if you look different," she continued. A hair makeover—more specifically, a haircut—has long been used as a coping strategy. But Belly is going straight for a bob instead of the traditional breakup bangs? Axar Patel leads DC to a decisive victory over Rishabh Pant's LSG on a night that contrasts for the captains.

Returning to Lucknow for the first time since his unsatisfactory dismissal from the team, KL Rahul ended the game with a spectacular six to go undefeated in a run-chase with a 42-ball 57.On a night full of stories at Lucknow's Ekana Stadium, the Delhi Capitals won by 8 wickets in a 160-run chase, solidifying their status as this season's title contenders. KL Rahul, who is making his first appearance in Lucknow after his unsatisfactory dismissal from the team, ended the game with a spectacular six to go undefeated in a run chase with a 42-ball 57. In the twelfth over of their respective innings, LSG and DC both lost their second wicket. Axar Patel entered when a composed Abishek Porel collapsed. At this point, DC was only under a little pressure to take a few wickets, but it might have grown complicated because new batters take time to get comfortable. With two sixes over the midwicket zone, his favorite hit against spin, Axar took out Ravi Bishnoi in the very next over after Avesh Khan had dismissed him after four dot balls. In the following over, facing Avesh once more after being outscored by a few deliveries, he decided to take a chance and hit a four to try to clear the fielder at mid-off. The most impressive stroke came from Shardul Thakur, who took up a not-so-short ball with the weight still on his backfoot and sent it over long on for a six.

Nitish Rana on RR not selecting him for Super Over against DC despite 51 off 28:

Nitish Rana on RR not selecting him for Super Over against DC despite 51 off 28: "One person never takes the call."

Despite hitting 51 off 28 balls against the Delhi Capitals, Nitish Rana was left out of the Super Over lineup as the Rajasthan Royals entered with Hetmyer and Riyan Parag.Nitish Rana remained in the middle until the 18th over of the chase after smashing 51 off 28 balls. At the Arun Jaitely Stadium in New Delhi on Wednesday, the Rajasthan Royals sent neither batsman to bat despite Yashasvi Jaiswal's 51 off 37 balls in the Super Over against the Delhi Capitals. Eyes were rolling when Shimron Hetmyer and Riyan Parag came out to bat in the Super Over. Rana wasn't even on the list of the three batters for the Super Over, but Jaiswal was chosen to bat following a wicket fall.RR's choice proved to be a poor one as Mitchell Starc of DC cramped the Hetmyer for space with yorkers and the reverse swing, allowing him to begin the Super Over with a dot ball. The Australian bowler was hit for four after missing his mark on the next delivery, but he recovered with another low full toss in the third ball. A single was taken by Hetmyer.Starc's low full toss was hit by Riyan Parag over third man for a boundary, sometimes known as a no-ball. After it appeared that RR would easily reach 15 with three balls left, the game took yet another sharp turn. RR was bowled out for just 11 as Parag and Jaiswal were ran out in the following ball.KL Rahul and Tristian Stubbs smash two sixes in the first three balls of Sandeep Sharma's Super Over to give DC a historic victory, so the total was insufficient. Following the game, Nitish Rana stated that the decision to send Riyan Parag and Shimron Hetmyer instead of him for the Super Over was made by the RR management. Rana said he didn't have an alternative response, adding that if Hetmyer had hit a couple of sixes in the Super Over, the questions would have been different."The call is answered by management, not a single individual. Along with two other senior players and coaches, the captain is present. You wouldn't be asking this question if Shimron Hetmyer had hit two sixes. I'll respond with the same response. I have no other response. Every choice we made was the right one. Everyone knows that Hetmyer is our finisher. During the press conference, Rana stated, "He has previously delivered."

India's bold strategy aids in a quick T20 reconstruction

The world champions are creating an environment where players perform well without worrying about keeping their spots in the squad or taking wickets.Kolkata: Although it's early, the process and outcomes give hope that India would successfully defend the T20 World Cup at home the following year. Despite the pessimism caused by the Test and ODI transition issues, India's T20 trajectory stands out thanks to series victories against South Africa, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, and now England. Even more so when one considers that Kuldeep Yadav, Shubman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, and Yashasvi Jaiswal have not been parachuted in.This is most likely a greater accomplishment. However, they have approached it virtually undetected. No culture of stars. Verify. No set order for batting. Verify. Just a group of young, talented, and incredibly self-assured cricket players going about their business without worrying about career curves. By the way, all IPL linchpins.Captain Suryakumar Yadav acknowledges his lack of quality as he is left off the Champions Trophy roster. Abhishek Sharma thinks a ball is there to be struck, hence he doesn't count returns. As long as Tilak Varma is at the crease, the second Twenty20 match in Chennai demonstrated that no equation is too difficult. And the fact that India lost to 12/3 and then 79/5 at Pune on Friday, yet still managed to score 181, demonstrated that the previous game's disaster chasing in Rajkot was really a fluke. The realization that not everything can be managed lies at the core of this long-term upsurge. Earlier this week, Sitanshu Kotak, India's new batting coach, said it. "To achieve a score of 200 or 225, and if you are

About 50 out of 71 candidates on the BJP's initial list for Bihar were repeat candidates; senior ministers and deputy chief ministers

For the Bihar Assembly elections next month, the BJP on Tuesday unveiled its initial list of 71 candidates, keeping a number of its current ministers and MLAs but adding fresh names in a few constituencies.About half of the 71 names are repeat candidates who ran in the 2020 elections, such as Vinod Narayan Jha (Benipatti), Pawan Jaiswal (Dhaka), Rana Randhir Singh (Madhuban), Awadhesh Singh (Hajipur), and Sanjay Saraogi (Darbhanga).Outgoing deputy chief ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha will run in the next Bihar assembly election from the Tarapur and Lakhisarai assembly constituencies, respectively, according to the Bharatiya Janata Party's first list of candidates released on Tuesday. Election results for the 243-seat Bihar legislature will be revealed on November 14 after two phases of voting on November 6 and 11.The Bharatiya Janata Party and the Janata Dal-United (JDU) are running for 101 seats apiece, while the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), led by Chirag Paswan, is running for 29 seats. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) finalized their seat-sharing formula for the Bihar assembly elections on Sunday. Jitan Ram Manjhi's Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), also known as HAM(S), and Upendra Kushwaha's Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) will compete for six seats each.As the party ran for 115 seats in the 2020 Bihar assembly election, Nitish Kumar's JD(U) saw a decline in the final seat-sharing results. In the push for OBC quota, BJP MP government aligns its argument with Congress's 'jitni abaadi, utna haq' pitch

The BJP government in Madhya Pradesh, led by Mohan Yadav, is advocating in the Supreme Court for an increase in the reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) from 14% to 27%. This initiative would violate the top court's quota ceiling of 50%. It appears to resonate with Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi's call for “jitni abaadi, utna haq (representation proportional to population).”In an affidavit submitted on September 23 before the Supreme Court proceedings that commenced Wednesday, the Madhya Pradesh government referenced 2011 Census data, stating that disadvantaged groups including Scheduled Castes (SCs) at 15.6% of the population, Scheduled Tribes (STs) at 21.1%, and OBCs at over 51% together constitute over 87% of the state's population. On Sunday, veteran Congress politician Kamal Nath charged that the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh was perpetrating a “drama” under the pretext of providing a 27 percent reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBCs). He claimed that the ruling party aimed to deny this community its rights. The OBC quota was raised from 14% to 27% by an ordinance under Nath's Congress government in 2019, but litigation prevented its implementation.Nath asserted in an X post that the Mohan Yadav government was using court procedures and legal advice as a repeated excuse to protect itself.

As reported by The Indian Express, 25-year-old folk singer Maithili Thakur may run for the Benipatti or Alinagar seat in the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections in Mithilanchal. At the age of 12, Maithili first rose to fame by launching a YouTube channel where she sang Maithili and Bhojpuri songs. She currently boasts more than 5.1 million YouTube subscribers and 6.3 million Instagram followers.Thakur's recent meetings with Vinod Tawde, the national general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party and Bihar organisation in-charge, as well as with Union minister Nityanand Rai, have led to speculation regarding her candidacy in the elections. During her visit to Jabalpur for a performance at the Narmada Mahotsav, the folk singer informed journalists that she feels a special bond with her hometown and believes beginning her political career there would provide her with valuable lessons.Bihar's assembly elections will take place in two phases on November 6 and 11, with vote counting scheduled for November 14. Beginning there will provide me with an opportunity to learn as well. By meeting people and talking to them, I will gain more understanding if I start from my village," she added. In response to a question concerning the Bihar assembly elections, the 25-year-old singer expressed her willingness to help with the country's development in any way she can. PM Modi recalls V K Malhotra: ‘An indefatigable Karyakarta, a superb organiser, and a builder of institutions’

Shri Vijay Kumar Malhotra Ji, one of our most senior leaders, passed away a few days ago. He lived a long life full of achievements, but what mattered more was that he led a life characterized by unwavering diligence, resolve, and service. His life offers a glimpse into the core ethos of the RSS, Jana Sangh, and BJP: courage in adversity, selfless service, and a profound dedication to cultural and national values. The family of VK Malhotra Ji endured the atrocities of partition. He did not become bitter or withdrawn as a result of the trauma and displacement. Rather, he dedicated himself to helping others. He discovered his vocation in the beliefs of the RSS and Jana Sangh. It was a time of great difficulty, indeed. Malhotra Ji devoted himself to social work, assisting thousands of displaced families who had lost everything in rebuilding their lives. The Jana Sangh was also guided by this spirit. In those days, his fellow Karyakartas included Madanlal Khurana Ji and Kidar Nath Sahni Ji. Individuals such as them, along with innumerable others, led the way in altruistic service—an endeavor that struck a chord with the people of Delhi. The Lok Sabha and various state assembly elections of 1967 were a shocker for the all-powerful Congress, as is well known. Another election that occurred, but is not as well-known, was the inaugural Delhi Metropolitan Council election. The Jana Sangh achieved a tremendous triumph in the national capital. Shri LK Advani Ji took on the role of Chairman of the Council, while Malhotra Ji was tasked with the role of Chief Executive Councillor, which is approximately equivalent to that of a Chief Minister. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt war er erst 36 Jahre alt. During his time in office, he focused on the needs of Delhi, particularly with regard to civic and infrastructure matters.Malhotra Ji’s connection with Delhi was strengthened by this responsibility. Malhotra Ji was not a bystander but an active participant representing the voice of the public whenever there was an issue of public importance. In the late 1960s, he participated in the cow protection movement, during which he fell victim to police excesses. He played a leading role in the movement opposing the Emergency. As the streets of Delhi became scenes of brutal violence against Sikhs, he emerged as a voice of tranquility and solidarity for the Sikh community. He was of the opinion that political activity (beyond winning elections) revolved around principles and safeguarding individuals and values at crucial times.

It shouts, "I'm ready, come what may!" when done correctly, but Claire's, well, went terribly wrong.

IHC of Abu Dhabi would pay ₹8,850 crore to acquire 43.5% of Sammaan Capital.

A division of Abu Dhabi's International Holding Company (IHC) has agreed to invest close to $1 billion (₹8,850 crore) for a 43.46 percent share in the non-banking financial company (NBFC), Sammaan Capital Limited (previously Indiabulls Housing Finance) announced on Thursday. The board of Sammaan Capital, an upper-tier NBFC, approved a preferential allotment of 330 million equity shares and 307 million warrants worth approximately ₹8,850 crore to Avenir Investment RSC Ltd, a unit of IHC, paving the way for the global investor to assume promoter status with a 43.46 per cent holding. Because of the ownership shift, the deal necessitates an open offer, which gives minority shareholders a way out in accordance with Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) requirements.According to a joint statement from the two businesses, the transaction signifies IHC's debut in the financial services industry in India and the biggest primary capital infusion by a single investor into an NBFC in the nation. At its Thursday meeting, the board approved the issuing of 330 million equity shares at a price of ₹139 each, which is 18% less than the closing price of ₹169.55 on Wednesday. This amounts to around ₹4,587 crore. Additionally, it authorized 307 million warrants worth around ₹4,263 crore that could be converted into equity shares. Due to a national holiday, the stock markets were closed on Thursday.

C R Patil's

C R Patil's "killer instinct" reign is coming to an end, and the BJP will select a new Gujarat chief.

A unexpected candidate for the position was Chandrakant Raghunath Patil, who is expected to leave his position as Gujarat BJP president after more than five years of success, including more than two years of extension. The first "non-Gujarati" to occupy the position was Patil, or CR as he is more widely known, who was born in Jalgaon, Maharashtra.Given Patil's lengthy tenure in Gujarat, where the former police constable rose through the ranks, and the influence of Amit Shah and Narendra Modi in the state where the BJP has risen steadily, it was not surprising that few questions were raised. Patil was also viewed as Modi's choice. While the BJP was still getting over the 2017 Assembly elections, in which the Patidar movement had whittled the party down to 99 seats in the 182-member House and a slim majority, the 70-year-old assumed power in July 2020. During the first Covid wave, when anti-government feeling was at its peak, Patil also took charge.By-elections were held in Gujarat in November 2020, months after he was appointed, to fill eight Assembly seats that Congress MLAs had left for the BJP. All were won by the BJP. Before the 2022 Assembly elections, Patil would go on to oversee the startling decision to completely restructure the Gujarat Cabinet, starting at the top with the late Vijay Rupani taking over as Chief Minister, replacing numerous incumbent MLAs with fresh candidates, and enforcing age and tenure restrictions on ticket distribution in local body elections.Subsequent surveys demonstrated Patil's skill in preventing the adjustments from backfiring. The local body elections, which included all six municipal corporations, were decisively won by the BJP in March 2021. The party not only overran Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation, a stronghold of the Congress party, but won 41 of the 44 wards in October 2021. The 2022 Assembly elections followed, which were viewed as a litmus test to see if the BJP had moved past the 2017 results and if its reform of its state unit would help it avoid anti-incumbency. By winning the Assembly elections with the greatest majority in Gujarat's history (156, or 85% of the Assembly members), the BJP disproved critics on both fronts. The BJP decided to support Patil for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and granted him an extension when his three-year term ended in July 2023. Despite losses in other regions of the nation, Patil delivered once more, as the BJP won 25 of Gujarat's 26 Lok Sabha seats.

"Very low percentage of body fat": Vivek Dahiya's toned body "without any gym, bars, or equipment"

Vivek Dahiya shocked his admirers and followers by sharing images of his toned body on social media. He went on to disclose that he used a strategy that allowed him to attain the same results without going to the gym. Would you believe me if I told you that I got this toned body without using a gym, dumbbells, bars, or any other equipment? All I needed was bodyweight exercises, callisthenics, and a ton of discipline and hard work, which helped me reach a very low body fat percentage, he posted on Instagram."Remember that simplicity and consistency are key in a world full of fitness fads," the 40-year-old continued. Go back to the fundamentals and observe how things change. Let's examine how such a metamorphosis might be achieved without going to the gym, taking a hint from the Qayamat Ki Raat actor. From the standpoint of diet and fitness, this is totally feasible with the correct attitude and commitment. Garima Goyal, a fitness trainer and worried consultant nutritionist. The progressive overload approach is used in bodyweight training. Goyal claims that variations such as pistol squats, single-leg squats, push-ups with elevation, and slow eccentric activities gradually test muscles and make them adapt, which promotes growth and definition. Bodyweight exercises, as opposed to isolated machine workouts, work the core and stabilizer muscles in each movement, improving overall balance and functional strength. High-volume or frequent sessions are simpler to complete because no equipment is needed, which helps speed up toning and endurance, Goyal added."While improper form in any workout can lead to injuries, bodyweight progressions usually encourage gradual adaptation, lowering the risk of overload injuries that can occur with excessive weights," Goyal added, emphasizing that there are safety benefits to training without heavy weights. However, this approach works best when accompanied by a healthy diet, particularly enough protein to repair muscles and enough sleep to promote recuperation.

"On day five of the Zappfresh IPO, 94% of subscribers signed up; retail interest is still low. "

Today is the fifth day of Zappfresh's public offering, which was extended on September 30. By the end of October 3, 94% of the issue was subscribed, according to data from Chittorgarh. The company's IPO was most eagerly anticipated by qualified institutional buyers (QIBs), who oversubscribed their quota by 1.45 times. Against the 11.16 lakh shares that were set aside for them, these investors placed bids for 16.16 lakh shares. Additionally, non-institutional investors (NIIs) bid for 10.50 lakh shares against the 8.39 lakh shares designated for them, oversubscribing their quota by 1.25X.However, as of Day 5, the overall subscription was down due to a lack of interest from ordinary investors. A 51% subscription resulted from retail investors bidding for just 9.96 lakh shares, compared to the 19.54 lakh shares that were set aside for them. The BSE SME IPO was originally scheduled to close on September 30, but due to low investor interest, it has been extended to Monday, October 60, for subscriptions. Only 52% of the offering had been subscribed for at that point, with investors purchasing 22.44 lakh shares out of the 42.39 lakh available.Consequently, the meat delivery company changed its price range from INR 96 to INR 101 to INR 95 to 100 and prolonged the IPO. Focus South, Adgully's new column, highlights southern Indian voices that are influencing marketing, customer interaction, and brand innovation in the future. Jayesh Sali, Senior General Manager & Marketing Head, MagickHome, is featured in this edition. He offers insights on design innovation, regional expansion, holiday initiatives, and the brand's future vision.Sali notes that the most important element propelling MagickHome's growth in 2025 has been design innovation. Design is timeless and remains at the forefront of consumer demand in a market where aesthetics and lifestyle are highly valued. Our USP is design innovation supported by worldwide quality standards, which our consumers have found to be very appealing. Once satisfied, they encourage recommendations, which furthers our expansion. Because finishes and materials are what make designs come to life, we also never stop inventing in these areas," he says.MagickHome has been paying particular attention to the distinct consumer tastes in places like Chennai, Coimbatore, and Bangalore as South India develops into a key market. Southern consumers exhibit a clear preference for vivid colors, traditional accents, and substantial use of wood in their interior design, even though they are just as discriminating and cost-conscious as any other group. Southern homes are vibrant and rich in history, from solid wood furniture and wall décor to handicrafts and carvings.Sali points out that balancing MagickHome's worldwide identity with local affinities is necessary to customize retail experiences in the area. Our goal is to create a brand that embodies both local affinities and global identity. Therefore, we make an effort to incorporate southern-relevant design trends, festivals, and cultural events into our ads, activations, and direct communications. We have developed genuine relationships and solid client recommendations thanks to this strategy," he says.MagickHome's "Season of Magic" promotion, which aims to promote culture, family, and the delight of homes coming to life, has begun as India approaches the holiday season. Sali views festivals as more than just decorations and lights; they are about memories being made. "We aim to collaborate with our clients to tell enduring stories. "Homes that really come alive during this unique time of year right up until the New Year is the spirit of our new campaign," he explains.

The reason those white patches on your skin may actually be connected to the sun

The reason those white patches on your skin may actually be connected to the sun

After a nice beach holiday, you return not only with memories but also with a vacation tan. Indeed, we can all relate! However, have you observed white patches developing on your skin, particularly on your face, following a beach vacation? Whether one has been on a beach holiday or not, they can show up after prolonged sun exposure; these are known as white spots. These sunspots manifest as small, flat white patches, typically appearing on areas exposed to the sun, like the arms, legs, and face. They are generally non-itchy and localized. They simply sit there, leaving you to wonder what their true cause is.This normally occurs when the skin loses pigmentation due to extended exposure to the sun. Everyone knows by now that the sun's UV rays can harm. As a result, in the course of this process, melanocytes (the cells responsible for melanin production) might cease to function in specific regions, resulting in white patches. They can manifest not just on the face, but also on the back and upper arms. Thus, whether it’s a beach vacation or just excessive exposure to the blazing sun, tanning accentuates those patches even further. Thus, whether it’s a beach vacation or just excessive exposure to the blazing sun, tanning accentuates those patches even further. The evident question is: are they truly detrimental? Umm… not so much. “They indicate long-term exposure to the sun but are not a disease and pose no threat. Dr. Ridhima Arora, MD, dermatology at Radix Healthcare, informs India Today that “It’s more cosmetic than medical.”It is certainly sun damage, but it is only at a superficial pigment level. Dr. Arora adds, “They do not elevate the risk of cancer or lead to other skin issues.” Should you freak out then? Not exactly. Is it necessary to pay attention? Certainly. Though not everyone is at risk for its development, farmers, outdoor workers, and those on sunny holidays may have a slightly higher susceptibility to white spots due to their sun exposure. Age may also play a role. Due to the cumulative effects of sun exposure over many years, they are most prevalent after the age of 40. Although younger individuals are not entirely overlooked, they are comparatively at a lower risk. From October 2026, electric vehicles in India will be equipped with a pedestrian warning system or AVAS. How it operates

From next year on, electric vehicles in India are expected to become noisy. In India, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has prepared a notification suggesting the establishment of a pedestrian warning system using Acoustic Vehicle Alerting Systems (AVAS) for electric vehicles. As a result, electric vehicles in India will be equipped with a pedestrian warning system that notifies other road users of the electric vehicle's presence. As reported by the US Department of Transportation, electric vehicles present a 20% greater risk of pedestrian accidents compared to cars with internal combustion engines, and this risk increases to 50% during low-speed driving. In markets such as the US, Japan, and Europe, AVAS is a compulsory feature for electric vehicles. With this technology, the low-frequency artificial sound produced by the EV easily alerts road users. According to the draft notification put forth by the MoRTH, all new electric vehicles, encompassing both passenger and goods carrier vehicles, are required to be equipped with AVAS starting from October 1, 2026. The rule will apply to the electric vehicles currently in production as of October 1, 2027. The government notification stated, "From 1st October 2026 onwards for new models, and from 1st October 2027 for existing models, electrified vehicles of category M and N must be equipped with an AVAS that complies with the audibility requirements outlined in AIS-173, as it may be revised over time."Regarding this, Md Saddam Hussain, Principal Research Associate at the Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy, stated that the mandate will enhance pedestrian safety and align India with global best practices. In the context of India’s crowded cities, an audible alert can significantly impact low-speed situations, as long as the sounds are crafted to be effective while avoiding contributions to noise pollution. It will be crucial to include two- and three-wheelers in phases and to enforce regulations strictly through the use of well-defined thresholds and accredited laboratories. He added that for maximum impact, AVAS should be complemented by active safety technologies such as pedestrian Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB).

Emirates prohibits power banks on flights: Implications for travelers

Emirates prohibits power banks on flights: Implications for travelers

Emirates, the national airline of the UAE, has introduced a new safety regulation banning power banks on its flights, starting Wednesday, October 1, 2025. According to the new regulation, passengers are allowed to bring one power bank with a capacity of less than 100 watt-hours in their cabin baggage, provided that it is not used during the flight. This implies that travellers are unable to charge their electronic devices, like smartphones and tablets, with power banks, nor can they recharge the power banks using the in-seat power supply on the aircraft.“Following an extensive safety evaluation, Emirates is adopting a strong and preemptive approach to reduce risk regarding power banks onboard. “The number of clients utilizing power banks has grown considerably in the past few years, leading to a rise in incidents involving lithium batteries on flights throughout the aviation sector,” the airlines stated.Emirates stated that all accepted power banks must have clear capacity ratings displayed and should be stored exclusively in the seat pocket or under the seat in front of you, not in overhead compartments. The airline noted that although its planes have in-seat charging ports, passengers should ensure their devices are fully charged prior to flying, particularly on long-haul flights.Power banks are compact, cuboid-shaped plugs designed to charge small devices like smartphones, smartwatches, and tablets. These days, most individuals carry power banks for the reassurance they provide when a device's battery dies, particularly while on the go. Although they are mainly intended for charging smaller devices, certain models can also supply power to more demanding equipment like laptops and large portable speakers. However, as they usually rely on lithium-ion or lithium-polymer batteries, they can present fire risks if compromised or subjected to overcharging.

Harish Rawat: „Das Kongress-Motto lautet: ‚Papierdiebe, lasst den Thron frei!‘“ Paper leak, similar to vote chori, jeopardizes the lives of youths.

Youth protesting against an alleged leak of the question paper for the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) government jobs test called off their demonstration until October 10 on Monday – the eighth day of their protest – after Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami assured them that their demand for a CBI investigation would be met. Meanwhile, the Opposition Congress continues to apply pressure on the BJP government. The Congress has persisted in scrutinizing the operation of institutions such as the UKSSSC and Uttarakhand Public Services Commission (UKPSC), which are responsible for overseeing job recruitment examinations. In an interview with The Indian Express, veteran Congress leader and former chief minister Harish Rawat discusses a range of pressing issues, from the paper leak controversy to Congress’s strategies for the 2027 Assembly elections. Auszüge:Our tagline is paper chor, gaddi chhor. A paper leak, similar to vote chori, involves manipulating the lives of young people. Just as the names of numerous voters are removed and altered, the paper chori also affects individuals' lives. We will support those who demonstrate against it. It is necessary to resist any undermining of public trust, be it through deleting votes or manipulating exams. If any word from a question paper appears, it constitutes a leak. If three pages are making the rounds on social media, how can anyone dispute it? Even the law – The Uttarakhand Competitive Examination (Measures for Control and Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Act, 2023 – introduced by the CM to combat cheating in recruitment exams, criminalises these actions. The Commission and the government are responsible for organizing exams in a manner that instills confidence. The Commission bears a significant responsibility, and it has not succeeded in meeting its obligations or rebuilding trust since 2017.
