Flipkart Black capitalizes on holiday spending by offering highly customized premium incentives.

A leader in establishing India's e-commerce scene, Flipkart just unveiled Flipkart Black, a premium subscription service created to meet the changing needs of the country's pickiest online shoppers. Rahat Patel, Vice President, Loyalty at Flipkart, discussed the fundamental ideas behind Flipkart Black, its unique selling points, strategic alliances, and how the program is set up to increase consumer value both during and outside of the holiday season in an exclusive interview with Adgully.Patel claims that Flipkart Black's origins may be traced back to the company's ongoing efforts to pay close attention to consumer demands. With millions of members, Flipkart Plus, an earned loyalty program, is still thriving. However, research showed a clear divide among high-end digital natives. These are consumers who rely on the internet for everything from communication to content to travel to purchasing. They desire seamless integration of living experiences. They are willing to pay for advantages that go beyond transactional benefits because they are subscription-savvy and preference-driven, Patel said. This realization prompted the development of Flipkart Black, a program centered not only on shopping but also on routine use cases like travel, entertainment, speedy transactions, and first-rate customer support. Flipkart Black's strategic multi-year cooperation with YouTube Premium is one of its distinguishing characteristics.Flipkart Black's strategic multi-year cooperation with YouTube Premium is one of its distinguishing characteristics. "We wanted a 'privilege without pause' experience," Patel explained. Because it seamlessly supports music, video, and lifestyle content, YouTube Premium is a perfect fit. Customers don't need coupons or additional processes to become YouTube Premium users; they can just sign up for Black.By incorporating Cleartrip, Flipkart also took advantage of group synergies. One of the main complaints from customers is addressed by travel benefits like free cancellations. Plans are disrupted by emergencies. For Black people, privilege equates to adaptability. Free cancellations became an important value as a result, according to Patel. Although subscription models are not brand-new, Patel highlighted Flipkart Black's modern, lifestyle-focused approach. Quick Commerce Advantage: "We are the only program that offers SuperCoins in quick commerce a 5% always-on benefit." "Members earn and redeem 50 coins each time on an average ₹1,000 basket—a clear, tangible value," he said.

Why Indian consumers may find the iPhone Air to be a confusing option

Why Indian consumers may find the iPhone Air to be a confusing option

Although the ultra-thin iPhone Air at Tuesday's Apple presentation attracted a lot of attention, it's possible that this marks the beginning of something new for both Apple and the smartphone market. The iPhone Plus models, which have been popular for years, will be replaced by this new iPhone for Apple. However, in contrast to those larger iPhones, this one also provides access to Apple's Pro processor line. The device places Apple in an odd position, particularly in price-conscious areas like India, even if the company believes it would satisfy consumers who demand a small and light iPhone with Pro features. Customers will inquire as to whether this is a more affordable iPhone Pro or a larger iPhone. Although it costs more than a standard iPhone, this model only has one camera in comparison to basic iPhones. Then, this will serve people who want a gadget that is slimmer and more powerful but aren't particularly concerned about its camera capabilities. The slim, light, and nearly weightless iPhone Air, weighing only 165 grams, lives true to its name. At only 5.64 mm thick, it's one of the thinnest iPhones ever, and its titanium construction makes it strong without adding weight. It's the type of phone that practically blends into your pocket or purse.

Acclaimed actress Cynthia Erivo has taken on the role of Jesus in a new production of Jesus Christ Superstar, prompting a wave of public reaction. The IT companies Accenture, TCS, and Infosys have higher brand values than Wipro.

Despite a slow growth environment and disruption from newer technologies, IT services firms Accenture, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and Infosys managed to increase the value of their brands.   The Brand Finance 2024 report states that the three IT behemoths ranked highest on the charts of IT brands. Accenture's $40.5 billion brand value, up 1.6% from the previous year, keeps it as the most valuable IT services brand in the world.Brand Finance research indicates that Accenture is well-positioned to seize the mega-trend—generative large language models—which is garnering a lot of attention and has the potential to completely transform industries and businesses. The second-place finish went to homegrown IT heavyweight TCS, whose brand value increased by 11% to $19.2 billion. Among global IT majors, the incremental brand value increased to nearly $2 billion from $17.2 billion the previous year, making it the highest in absolute terms. This was "driven by consistent investments in AI-readiness and a commitment to sustainability," according to a statement from TCS. The only significant provider of IT services, Wipro, which is backed by billionaire businessman Azim Premji, saw its brand value decline by 7.6% annually to $6.2 billion. Over the past few years, Wipro has lagged behind as it struggles to turn the business around in a competitive market. Additionally, a number of departures have occurred, with about ten senior executives leaving in 2023.

Crypto Price Today: Bitcoin Falls Below $40,000, Small Gains Seen by Tether, USD Coin

On Tuesday, January 23, the price of bitcoin showed a 3.63 percent decline. As a result, Bitcoin is now worth only $39,820, or about Rs. 33 lakh. For the first time in the previous two months, the price of Bitcoin has fallen below $40,000, or approximately Rs. 33 lakh. The price of Bitcoin dropped by $1,175 (approximately Rs. 97, 635) in the last day. Most cryptocurrencies followed Bitcoin on the loss-making side of the price chart. On Tuesday, Ether saw a 4.04 percent decline. When this article was written, the price of ETH was $2,336 (about Rs. 1.94 lakh). In the past day, the price of ether dropped by $81 (about Rs. 6,730). For the first time in fifty days, Bitcoin fell below $40,000 (approximately Rs. 33 lakh) as the Bulls were unable to maintain the support line. Those new investors who made large investments during the spot ETF announcement are currently sitting at nearly a twenty-five percent loss. During the late hours of US Monday trading, altcoins also experienced a deep red decline as concerns about ETH falling below the $2,000 (roughly Rs. 1.66 lakh) mark resurfaced in the markets. The Ethereum Foundation's sale of 700 ETH for about $2,400 (about Rs. 1.99 lakh) each served as the catalyst for this. Such token foundation sell-offs typically indicate a local peak, which may have occurred prior to the Bitcoin halving. After a tremendous bull run, the cryptocurrency market is currently experiencing a healthy retreat. As ETFs increase their AUM and encourage widespread adoption of the biggest digital asset in the world, we might witness a more stable Bitcoin. The CEO of BuyUcoin, Shivam Thakral, told Gadgets360, "Top Trader Henrik Zeberg shared a new Bitcoin price prediction of $120,000 (roughly Rs. 99.7 lakh). However, we will have to wait and see how the market moves in the coming weeks."

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu calls the accusation of genocide against Israel

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu calls the accusation of genocide against Israel "outrageous

The accusation of genocide made against Israel, according to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, is "outrageous" and "decent people everywhere should reject it." In response to South Africa's genocide claim against Israel being rejected by the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the Israeli Prime Minister declared, "The charge of genocide levelled against Israel is not only false, it's outrageous, and decent people everywhere should reject it."   Speaking on the eve of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Prime Minister Netanyahu declared, "Never Again." Israel will not give up its defense of itself against the murderous terrorist group Hamas."According to him, Israel's sacred commitment to upholding international law and continuing to defend "our country and defend our people" are both unwavering. Israel has the inherent right to self-defense, just like any other nation. It is obvious discrimination against the Jewish state to attempt to deny Israel this fundamental right, and it was rightly rejected." The International Court of Justice in the Hague on Friday ordered Israel to 'take all measures' to prevent genocide in Gaza. However, the court did not order that a ceasefire be implemented. The court voted 15 to 2 in favor of its decision. Israel was also mandated to submit a report to the court within a month. Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, stated: "On October 7, Hamas perpetrated the most horrific atrocities against the Jewish people since the Holocaust, and it vows to repeat these atrocities again and again and again." He declared that Israel is not fighting Palestinian civilians, but rather Hamas terrorists. "We will continue to facilitate humanitarian assistance, and to do our utmost to keep civilians out of harm's way, even as Hamas uses civilians as human shields."

Is PCOS inherited or a result of lifestyle choices?

Is PCOS inherited or a result of lifestyle choices?

Ask any group of young women today, and it's likely that many of them have heard of or dealt with PCOS, or polycystic ovarian syndrome. Despite its widespread occurrence, there is still uncertainty over its true nature, how it differs from PCOD, and if it is inherited or caused by lifestyle choices. A hormonal condition known as PCOS occurs when the ovaries create more androgens, or "male hormones," than is typical. Ovulation is disturbed, which results in infertility, weight gain, acne, irregular periods, and excessive hair growth. However, PCOD (polycystic ovarian disease) is a little different. Cysts are caused by the ovaries releasing a large number of immature or partially developed eggs in PCOD. Although the two disorders have similar names, PCOS is more dangerous since it affects the entire body and is a metabolic and hormonal disorder, whereas PCOD is confined to the ovaries and is typically easier to treat. It is not a straightforward "either-or," according to Dr. Nidhi Sharma Chauhan, an obstetrician and gynecologist at Saifee Hospital in Mumbai. Both lifestyle and genetics are involved. There appears to be a hereditary component to PCOS. According to research, excessive levels of androgens or environmental contaminants during pregnancy increase the risk of PCOS in the developing fetus. Additionally, it can run in families, and some populations, like Asians, have a higher propensity for it, she notes. This does not imply that PCOS will develop in all individuals with a genetic connection. Dr. Chauhan explains that not everyone who has a hereditary risk to PCOS will get it. Lifestyle is really important. The illness can be triggered by factors such as weight increase, long-term stress, sleep deprivation, physical inactivity, and improper eating habits. There is no "one-size-fits-all" approach to PCOS. Some women suffer from infertility and irregular periods, while others have metabolic issues like weight gain and insulin resistance. Some women have all of these symptoms at once. There are several different types of PCOS. According to Dr. Chauhan, "some people may have the full spectrum, while others may have only one or two symptoms." This complicates diagnosis and necessitates a customized treatment strategy. Awareness is crucial because PCOS affects women in very different ways than illnesses with a distinct set of symptoms.

Fermented and Probiotic Skincare: The Trend Everyone’s Talking About

Fermented and Probiotic Skincare: The Trend Everyone’s Talking About

Skincare trends come and go, but fermented and probiotic products are proving they’re more than just hype. From cleansers to creams, more people are reaching for formulas packed with good bacteria and fermented ingredients—and for good reason. These products aim to support your skin’s natural balance instead of fighting against it.   At the heart of this trend is the skin’s microbiome, the layer of bacteria that protects and maintains healthy skin. Probiotic skincare introduces beneficial microbes, while fermentation breaks down ingredients into smaller, more potent compounds. The result? Products that are often gentler, more effective, and surprisingly soothing—especially for sensitive or breakout-prone skin.   Fermented skincare isn’t exactly new—K-beauty brands have used these methods for years—but it's now catching on globally. Consumers are becoming more ingredient-aware and looking for skincare that works with the body, not against it. Whether it’s a kombucha-infused toner or a probiotic-rich serum, these products promise nourishment without the harsh side effects.   One of the biggest draws is the long-term benefit. Instead of offering a quick fix, probiotic and fermented formulas help build stronger, more resilient skin over time. And with growing interest in gut health and natural wellness, it’s no surprise that people are now thinking about skin health in the same way.   So, is it worth the switch? If you’re after calmer, healthier skin with a focus on balance over harsh treatment, fermented and probiotic skincare might just be your next go-to.

4th T20I, Zimbabwe Women vs. Ireland Women, Harare

At the Harare Sports Club in Harare today, Ireland women defeated Zimbabwe women by nine wickets in a shortened eight-over match, needing just one ball remaining to complete the run chase.Orla Prendergast leads Ireland to a T20I victory in Harare: Match report In an overcast fourth T20 International versus Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club, Ireland Women emerged victorious by nine wickets thanks to a six from Orla Prendergast's second-to-last ball of the match. In a match played under lights, Prendergast (27* off 15 balls) and Gaby Lewis (20* off 18 balls) put up an undefeated second-wicket stand of 36. Ireland now leads the five-match series 4-0.The match, which was shortened to eight overs-a-side, finally started after more than two and a half hours of delay. Ireland made two changes from the team that finished the series on Tuesday, replacing Freya Sargent and Alana Dalzell with Leah Paul and Ava Canning. After winning the toss, Irish captain Laura Delany decided to bowl first. With the last ball of her first over, Georgina Dempsey removed the threatening Mary-Ann Musonda with a full toss that the Zimbabwean captain smashed straight to Gaby Lewis at point. The most notable wicket fall occurred when Cara Murray darted to her right to follow through with a rapid throw to Amy Hunter, beating Chiedza Dhururu (12), who was caught short of the crease. The wickets dropped at regular intervals. After that, Delany bowled Nyasha Gwanzura with the last ball, bringing the hosts' eight overs total to 65-5.Hunter started the run chase well, hitting a short ball from spinner Precious Marange over the cover for four. But, after four overs, with Ireland up 34-1, she fell on 19.The chase was difficult due to Zimbabwe's bowling, and young spinner Ndhlovu was assigned to deliver the last over in an attempt to stop nine runs from being scored. Prendergast won it with a maximum over midwicket after Lewis got three off the first two balls. He then calmly stroked 10 runs off the next three balls. On Friday, February 2, the teams will play the series' last game. At the Harare Sports Club, the game will begin at 4.30 p.m. (Irish time) and will be played under lights as well.

India condemns Israeli action for the first time, calling on Qatar to strike for violating its sovereignty.

Delhi, New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi denounced yesterday's Israeli missile assault as an invasion of Qatar's sovereignty during a call to the Emir of Qatar. Modi did not specifically name Israel in his public statement, but it was the first time India had used the phrase "condemn" in relation to any Israeli conduct during the Gaza war.A day later, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Emir of Qatar, had a conversation with the Indian leader himself. The readout from Qatar stated that Modi had made the call."India condemns the violation of the sovereignty of the brotherly State of Qatar," Modi wrote on X after voicing his concerns to the emir. Modi added that he had conveyed to the emir of Qatar his "deep concern" and emphasized that India was "firmly in support of peace and stability in the region" and that it supported settling disputes "through dialogue and diplomacy. "Modi conveyed India's "strong condemnation of a cowardly Israeli attack" that targeted home premises used by Hamas officials, while also expressing sympathy with Qatar, according to the Qatari readout. India emphasized that the strike was "a blatant violation of international law and norms and a serious threat to the security of Qatar and the region," according to the statement released by the emir's office. Modi vehemently denounced "any aggression" that jeopardized Qatar's security and stability, according to the readout. The emir thanked Modi for his words and India's backing, and he stated that Qatar would take all necessary steps to protect its security and sovereignty. Modi added in his X post that India was "against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations." This statement is thought to be an attempt to strike a balance between the infrequent censure and India's customary stance, which supports Israel's counterterrorism strategy over its operations in Gaza. The Qatari readout contained no mention of terrorism.

Poland is the first NATO member to fire during the conflict in Ukraine after taking down drones in its airspace.

According to sources, from Tuesday night until the next morning, Polish F-16 fighter jets, Dutch F-35s, Italian AWACS observation planes, and NATO mid-air refueling aircraft scurried to shoot down drones that were invading Polish airspace. At 6:30 in the morning, while pensioner Tomasz Wesolowski was downstairs watching news about the incursion, a drone crashed into his two-story brick home in the eastern Polish village of Wyryki-Wola. Debris was scattered around the bedroom, and the roof was completely ruined. Reuters was informed by Wesolowski that the house "needs to be demolished." Other drones had fallen in a field in southeast Poland, as indicated by a burnt area.According to a senior Polish ambassador, the drones originated in Ukraine, and Moscow denied any involvement in the event. Russia's defense ministry claimed that although their drones had not intended to strike any targets in Poland, they had launched a significant attack on military installations in western Ukraine. Polish President Karol Nawrocki, a hardline nationalist and political friend whom Trump received at the White House last week, spoke with U.S. President Donald Trump. In a post on X, Nawrocki stated, "This conversation is part of a series of consultations I've been conducting with our allies." "Today's talks reaffirmed our unity. "Trump said on social media prior to the call: "Why is Russia using drones to invade Poland's airspace? "Here we go!" He didn't go into detail. NATO leaders, including those from France, Britain, Germany, and Canada, denounced the alleged Russian incursion. It justifies a coordinated reaction, according to European leaders who have been attempting to convince Trump to join them in strengthening sanctions on Russia and bolstering support for Kyiv. According to diplomats, Slovenia, Denmark, Greece, France, and Britain have requested a meeting of the UN Security Council on Friday to discuss what they consider Russian violations of Polish airspace. Poland said that during a massive Russian air strike on Ukraine, 19 objects had crossed its territory and that it had shot down the dangerous ones. The incident was described as a "large-scale provocation" by Tusk, who also claimed to have used Article 4 of the NATO treaty, which allows alliance members to request talks with their partners.NATO and Poland have not yet provided a detailed explanation of what they believe the drones were doing. At least five of the drones' flight routes pointed toward Rzeszow airport, NATO's primary base for armament supply to Ukraine, according to a senior military source.

I hope their future together is filled with success and longevity! "President Donald J. Trump," Trump wrote as the description for his Truth Social post, which included a photo of PM Modi at the Tianjin meeting with Putin and Jinping. During a press briefing on Friday, the Ministry of External Affairs declined to comment on Trump's post. "We don't have anything to comment on Trump's post as of now" ."Trump and Modi had a great personal relationship. In an interview with the British broadcaster LBC, Bolton stated, "I think that's gone now, and it's a lesson to everybody." "For example, (UK Prime Minister) Keir Starmer -- a good personal relationship may help at times, but it won’t protect you from the worst" . Bolton's warning implied that Modi's much-discussed "bromance" with Trump, which previously made headlines for everything from state visits to Houston's "Howdy Modi" rally, might have come to a standstill.

Is your face actually sculpted by facial compression bands?

Is your face actually sculpted by facial compression bands?

Everything that offers that desired, chiselled look is something we love to try, from facial yoga to gua sha massage and face cupping. Kim Kardashian introduced a seamless sculpt face wrap under her SKIMS brand since she understands how enamored everyone is with sculpted faces. It should come as no surprise that facial compression bands, which promise tighter skin and a sharper jawline, are currently the hottest fad. It's good to consider whether they actually produce effects and, more crucially, whether they are safe to use before hurriedly adding one to your cart. Let's ask the professionals.Elastic wraps applied over the chin and jawline are known as facial compression bands, face-slimming bands, or V-line lifting bands. According to India Today, Dr. Ruben Bhasin Passi, dermatology consultant at CK Birla Hospital in Gurugram, says the goal is to temporarily tighten the skin, support lymphatic drainage, and lessen puffiness by applying continuous pressure. "Some versions claim to train the skin and underlying muscles into a slimmer contour," she continues. If you've been wondering why everyone in your feed is using compression bands to attain that V-shaped, sculpted jawline, it's because they promise to be a quick, non-invasive method that doesn't require fillers or surgery.Dr. Passi claims that the craze for lifted features and sharp jawlines on social media is what's driving the trend. Why is it so attractive? It is simple to apply at home, reasonably priced when compared to cosmetic procedures, and seamlessly integrates into the enduringly popular K-beauty regimens. Furthermore, compression bands are frequently promoted as a quick fix to tighten skin, define the jawline, and minimize puffiness, according to Dr. Shireen Furtado, senior consultant, medical and cosmetic dermatology, Aster CMI Hospital, Bengaluru. "The idea of getting quick results at home makes them attractive, especially for those who do not want cosmetic procedures," she informs us.

Mark Zuckerberg is taking a risk by predicting that smart glasses will be the next significant technological advancement. This week, that vision begins to come to pass.

Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, will spend his whole presentation at the company's annual developer conference, Meta Connect, in San Francisco on Wednesday, trying to persuade you that the smartphone in your pocket will soon be replaced by smart glasses. You won't have to wait years for that; you might have the future right now. In comparison, Apple's iPhone 17 series, which was revealed last week, appears to be either growing thinner or simply adding more cameras.Although Zuckerberg's idea may not sound compelling at first, Meta sees a chance to not just experiment but also actively pursue a gadget that might eventually replace smartphones when sales of smartphones stagnate. Although they are still a long way from taking the place of smartphones, the popularity of Ray-Ban smart glasses suggests that, given the correct features and price range, they may eventually become a commonplace item in consumers' daily lives. The question is whether Meta will be the first business to make smart glasses widely used, and if so, when.Despite missing out on the smartphone explosion and a botched attempt to transform the internet with the Metaverse, smart glasses have been a bright light in Meta's audacious future wagers.

As Block Everything protests intensify, France is in chaos; will Macron step down?

France Protests: Under the banner of the "Block Everything" campaign, demonstrators staged large-scale protests around France on Wednesday, blocking highways, starting fires, and engaging in combat with law enforcement. In images reminiscent of the chaos of the 2018 "Yellow Vest" rallies, protesters set garbage cans on fire, obstructed train movement, and took over roundabouts. With no centralized leadership and ad hoc organization through social media, the demonstration is a wide-ranging manifestation of dissatisfaction. Only two days after the fall of Prime Minister Francois Bayrou's administration, it erupted in the European nation. Following the overthrow of the government on Monday and the prompt appointment of his longtime supporter, Sebastien Lecornu, as the new prime minister, French President Emmanuel Macron reportedly orchestrated the protests through Telegram channels. As thousands of people flooded onto the streets during the initial hours of unrest, the Associated Press reported that almost 300 individuals were arrested. Police used tear gas to disperse demonstrators who set barricades on fire in Paris. A bus was set on fire in Rennes, according to Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau, while train service in the southwest was suspended due to damage to a power line. Protesters, he said, were attempting to foster "a climate of insurrection."In an effort to stop the disturbance, the government of President Emmanuel Macron had sent out 80,000 police personnel nationwide. In spite of this, demonstrators set up barriers, started fires, and held protests in several locations. In Paris, trash cans were set on fire, and commuters reported traffic jams on major roads. The demonstrations expanded to many cities throughout France. In Nantes, police used tear gas on groups attempting to take over traffic circles, and protesters stopped a highway with burning tires. In Montpellier, barricades were erected at roundabouts and then taken down during altercations with police. Train services were briefly interrupted by fires in Toulouse, and attempts were made to establish additional blockades in Bordeaux. Even while the "Block Everything" movement failed to completely paralyze the nation, it did create significant flashpoints that interfered with daily life, transportation, and commutes to and from work.Meanwhile, the newly appointed Prime Minister, Sebastien Lecornu promised a “profound break" with the past on Wednesday as he faced the thorny task of trying to build a government with enough parliamentary support to pull the country out of a political crisis. Lecornu, 39, promised to find “more creative" ways than before to work with opposition parties to try to build a stable government, news agency AFP reported. “We will get there," he said during a handover ceremony. Lecornu is the seventh prime minister since Macron took office in 2017 — and the third within the space of a year.

Nine animals that are masters at tricking the other species around them

Nine animals that are masters at tricking the other species around them

There are other aspects of the animal kingdom than power, speed, and keen teeth. Being a good liar is often the only talent necessary for survival.Nature is full of skilled con artists, from spiders that fill the air with false promises to birds that deceive others into raising their young. Despite their seeming cruelty, these tactics are the result of evolution. Trickery ensures the survival of the next generation, saves energy, and enhances survival. The saying "fake it 'til you make it" may be familiar to you. However, this statement was used by the master mimics of our natural world long before it became a common self-help cliche. Animals and insects have developed clever strategies to live by mimicking the noises, appearances, or behaviors of other species in their environment, whether it's to elude predators or attract prey. This American native wild cat was found to use "psychological cunning" to lure prey. It was discovered that the tree ocelot, also called the margay, was mimicking the call of a young pied tamarin monkey. Yes, you read correctly. This untamed feline mimics a monkey. In a clever move to draw in adult monkeys grazing nearby, researchers from the Wildlife Conservation Society and UFAM (Federal University of Amazonas) in Brazil saw a tree ocelot mimic the squeal of the newborn monkeys. The tree ocelot uses this type of "aggressive" mimicry, or imitation,2 in an attempt to capture adult monkeys within striking distance. Sadly, as experts have noted, the fictitious squeals in this case were unsuccessful. Adult monkeys in the area were drawn to the phony calls, but the trick was soon discovered. Then, before the cat could jump, the pied tamarin monkeys alerted the others to go. I wish you luck.

Gen-Z Favors Sushila Karki as Nepal’s Future Leader; PM Modi Recalls Ties: ‘I Remember the Ganga’

Former Chief Justice Sushila Karki has unexpectedly emerged as a favored figure among Nepal’s Gen-Z, who see her as a symbol of integrity and bold leadership in a time of political uncertainty. Despite not being affiliated with any political party, Karki’s clean track record and fearless judicial legacy have struck a chord with the younger generation, increasingly disillusioned with traditional political figures. The rising support for Karki underscores a generational desire for transparent and accountable governance. Young Nepalis, many first-time voters, are turning to leaders with proven credibility rather than political clout. Though Karki has not publicly expressed interest in entering politics, her name trending in youth forums and online polls points to a shifting political mood—one rooted in principle over populism. In a separate but timely moment, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a recent address on India-Nepal relations, reflected on the shared cultural and spiritual history between the two nations. “I remember the Ganga,” he remarked, evoking a sense of nostalgia and emphasizing the centuries-old ties that bind the neighboring countries. His comments come amid growing calls for deeper regional collaboration and youth-led diplomacy. As Nepal’s political landscape evolves, the spotlight on Sushila Karki reflects a broader yearning for ethical leadership. With Gen-Z demanding change, the future of Nepalese politics may well be shaped by values that transcend party lines—and led by individuals once considered outside the political sphere.

Neeraj and I deserve a medal, but if he is better than me I will respect that: Julian Weber

At the Diamond League Final in Zurich, Germany's Julian Weber emerged as the primary contender to World Champion Neeraj Chopra with the largest throw of the year, measuring 91.51 meters. In an interview with The Indian Express from his training base in Miyazaki, Japan, ahead of the Tokyo World Championships, Weber discussed joining the 90-meter club, his friendship with Chopra, the reasons why champions are coming from all over the world, and how growing up in a handball family affected him. Excerpts:The throw was at a decent angle technically. The block (blocking leg) always gave me a little trouble, but that day it went better. The rhythm and build-up were fluid. In Doha, we also got a favorable backwind, which was beneficial.Julian Weber: Every action has an impact. I feel calmer and more at ease mentally during tournaments. I make an effort to concentrate more on the technique and myself. My technique has significantly improved, including how I approach the throw, the javelin's angle, how I hold it, putting my right leg closer to the throwing direction, being compact in the throwing posture, and throwing farther forward. In addition, I have been training for some time now without suffering any serious ailments. I am therefore happy, enjoying myself, and throwing far.
