After Barcelona loses against Girona, Real Madrid wins their record-tying 36th Spanish league title.

With four games left, Real Madrid ended the suffering of its Spanish opponents and secured the league title on Saturday. This came just in time for Real Madrid to fully concentrate on its Champions League semifinal matchup against Bayern Munich.Madrid performed as predicted, defeating relegation-threatened Cadiz 3-0, despite using only bench players. Coach Xavi Hernández acknowledged that Barcelona's 4-2 loss to Girona was emblematic of his team's trophy-less season. With just 12 points still to play, Girona overtook Barcelona in second place, and Madrid was able to capture its record-extending 36th Spanish league title thanks to a sequence of results that left them with an overwhelming 13-point disadvantage.Madrid would have celebrated the title on Saturday if Barcelona had prevailed at Girona. Now Madrid gets the opportunity to add to its record 14 European Cup victories. After a 2-2 first-leg stalemate in Germany, Madrid hosts Bayern on Wednesday in their Champions League semifinal matchup. Borussia Dortmund or Paris Saint-Germain will be waiting for the victor of the June 1 final. The club announced that it will postpone the customary victory celebration in downtown Madrid until next Saturday in order to focus on its crucial matchup with Bayern. Coach Carlo Ancelotti of Real Madrid declared, "We deserved this league title in every way," following his team's second league title and 12th trophy overall in his two years at the team."We want to celebrate with all of the supporters, but they know that we have a big battle coming up on Wednesday. We want to be well-prepared to please the supporters, and on Saturday, we will all celebrate the victory together. After Karim Benzema left in the summer and Thibaut Courtois, the goalkeeper, and defenders David Alaba and Eder Militao suffered major leg injuries, Madrid looked to be back on track to challenge reigning champion Barcelona at the beginning of the season. But after joining from Borussia Dortmund, Jude Bellingham developed into a prolific striker. Madrid was far ahead of the opposition thanks to his goals and midfield leadership as well as Vinícius Júnior's dribbling, pace, and goals.Madrid has won both of its league "clasico" matches against Barcelona, has only lost once in 34 rounds overall, and has delivered Girona two crushing defeats in their two encounters.Replicas Before the match against Bayern, Shine Ancelotti made significant changes to his starting eleven. The only player that started the first leg against Bayern and started against Cadiz was center-back Nacho Fernández. At the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday, in the 51st minute, Brahim Díaz scored a goal from the edge of the box into the top corner, shattering Cadiz's defense. Moments after entering the game as a replacement, season MVP Bellingham scored his 18th league goal of the year to effectively seal the victory. In injury time, Joselu Mato added a third. Champions League play for Girona In addition to losing to Girona in the Catalan derby, which was their second major defeat of the season, Xavi's team also watched Madrid win the title as a result of their defeat. Barcelona dropped to third position, 14 points behind Madrid, as Girona overcame them. Girona opened a 13-point lead over Athletic Bilbao in fifth place, securing a top-four finish and Champions League spot. Girona is now poised to raise a problem for UEFA, whose regulations aim to safeguard the Champions League against the presence of two or more clubs owned by the same entity. Both Girona and Manchester City are members of the Abu Dhabi royal family-supported City Football Group. Girona has the ability to deny Barcelona of

Google suspends Geminis picture tool in response to criticism

Recently, Google's Gemini faced criticism due to its incapacity to produce photos of Caucasian people."We introduced the ability to produce photographs of people three weeks ago as part of a new image production function for the Gemini conversational app, formerly known as Bard. Clearly, this functionality fell short of expectations. A few of the pictures that are produced are untrue or even offensive. We apologize that the tool didn't function properly and appreciate the input from users, Senior Vice President Prabhakar Raghavan stated in a blog post.Recently, there has been a lot of indignation and ridicule on social media due to photographs created by Geminis. Google was even accused by some users of being "woke" at the expense of accuracy or truth. Images showing Black and Asian Nazi troopers as well as a picture of four Swedish women—none of whom were white—were among those that drew criticism. Additionally, some users have reported that the program, no matter what they enter, would not produce any photographs of white people at all.The founder engineer of corporate search firm Glean, Debarghya Das, wrote on X, "It's embarrassingly hard to get Google Gemini to acknowledge that white people exist." The post included several photos produced by Gemini. Not only did Gemini commit a racial faux pas, but it also failed to consider cultural context. For example, a different X user said that when they looked for a picture of a "Bitcoiner eating a steak," they ended up with a picture of a Hindu woman consuming beef. "I assume Google is attempting to show cultural sensitivity with this? He went on, "Btw, Hindus can definitely be Bitcoiners, but they probably wouldn't be eating a steak because cows are revered."On Thursday, Google, a division of Alphabet (GOOGL), temporarily disabled a few image-generating functionalities of its Gemini suite of artificial intelligence (AI) services. The suspension follows user disclosure this week of several historically incorrect photos produced by the service.Four days priorGoogle has made the decision to temporarily halt the creation of person images using its Gemini image generator. The decision was made in reaction to complaints that the program inaccurately depicted people's races in historical settings, which sparked discussion about how technology shapes people's perceptions of diversity and history.Billionaire Elon Musk brought attention to the topic by calling the AI tool "woke" and "racist." The complexity of striking a balance between historical truth and inclusion proved to be too much for the technology to handle.

The IT companies Accenture, TCS, and Infosys have higher brand values than Wipro.

Despite a slow growth environment and disruption from newer technologies, IT services firms Accenture, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and Infosys managed to increase the value of their brands.   The Brand Finance 2024 report states that the three IT behemoths ranked highest on the charts of IT brands. Accenture's $40.5 billion brand value, up 1.6% from the previous year, keeps it as the most valuable IT services brand in the world.Brand Finance research indicates that Accenture is well-positioned to seize the mega-trend—generative large language models—which is garnering a lot of attention and has the potential to completely transform industries and businesses. The second-place finish went to homegrown IT heavyweight TCS, whose brand value increased by 11% to $19.2 billion. Among global IT majors, the incremental brand value increased to nearly $2 billion from $17.2 billion the previous year, making it the highest in absolute terms. This was "driven by consistent investments in AI-readiness and a commitment to sustainability," according to a statement from TCS. The only significant provider of IT services, Wipro, which is backed by billionaire businessman Azim Premji, saw its brand value decline by 7.6% annually to $6.2 billion. Over the past few years, Wipro has lagged behind as it struggles to turn the business around in a competitive market. Additionally, a number of departures have occurred, with about ten senior executives leaving in 2023.

Crypto Price Today: Bitcoin Falls Below $40,000, Small Gains Seen by Tether, USD Coin

On Tuesday, January 23, the price of bitcoin showed a 3.63 percent decline. As a result, Bitcoin is now worth only $39,820, or about Rs. 33 lakh. For the first time in the previous two months, the price of Bitcoin has fallen below $40,000, or approximately Rs. 33 lakh. The price of Bitcoin dropped by $1,175 (approximately Rs. 97, 635) in the last day. Most cryptocurrencies followed Bitcoin on the loss-making side of the price chart. On Tuesday, Ether saw a 4.04 percent decline. When this article was written, the price of ETH was $2,336 (about Rs. 1.94 lakh). In the past day, the price of ether dropped by $81 (about Rs. 6,730). For the first time in fifty days, Bitcoin fell below $40,000 (approximately Rs. 33 lakh) as the Bulls were unable to maintain the support line. Those new investors who made large investments during the spot ETF announcement are currently sitting at nearly a twenty-five percent loss. During the late hours of US Monday trading, altcoins also experienced a deep red decline as concerns about ETH falling below the $2,000 (roughly Rs. 1.66 lakh) mark resurfaced in the markets. The Ethereum Foundation's sale of 700 ETH for about $2,400 (about Rs. 1.99 lakh) each served as the catalyst for this. Such token foundation sell-offs typically indicate a local peak, which may have occurred prior to the Bitcoin halving. After a tremendous bull run, the cryptocurrency market is currently experiencing a healthy retreat. As ETFs increase their AUM and encourage widespread adoption of the biggest digital asset in the world, we might witness a more stable Bitcoin. The CEO of BuyUcoin, Shivam Thakral, told Gadgets360, "Top Trader Henrik Zeberg shared a new Bitcoin price prediction of $120,000 (roughly Rs. 99.7 lakh). However, we will have to wait and see how the market moves in the coming weeks."

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu calls the accusation of genocide against Israel "outrageous

The accusation of genocide made against Israel, according to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, is "outrageous" and "decent people everywhere should reject it." In response to South Africa's genocide claim against Israel being rejected by the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the Israeli Prime Minister declared, "The charge of genocide levelled against Israel is not only false, it's outrageous, and decent people everywhere should reject it."   Speaking on the eve of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Prime Minister Netanyahu declared, "Never Again." Israel will not give up its defense of itself against the murderous terrorist group Hamas."According to him, Israel's sacred commitment to upholding international law and continuing to defend "our country and defend our people" are both unwavering. Israel has the inherent right to self-defense, just like any other nation. It is obvious discrimination against the Jewish state to attempt to deny Israel this fundamental right, and it was rightly rejected." The International Court of Justice in the Hague on Friday ordered Israel to 'take all measures' to prevent genocide in Gaza. However, the court did not order that a ceasefire be implemented. The court voted 15 to 2 in favor of its decision. Israel was also mandated to submit a report to the court within a month. Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, stated: "On October 7, Hamas perpetrated the most horrific atrocities against the Jewish people since the Holocaust, and it vows to repeat these atrocities again and again and again." He declared that Israel is not fighting Palestinian civilians, but rather Hamas terrorists. "We will continue to facilitate humanitarian assistance, and to do our utmost to keep civilians out of harm's way, even as Hamas uses civilians as human shields."

4th T20I, Zimbabwe Women vs. Ireland Women, Harare

At the Harare Sports Club in Harare today, Ireland women defeated Zimbabwe women by nine wickets in a shortened eight-over match, needing just one ball remaining to complete the run chase.Orla Prendergast leads Ireland to a T20I victory in Harare: Match report In an overcast fourth T20 International versus Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club, Ireland Women emerged victorious by nine wickets thanks to a six from Orla Prendergast's second-to-last ball of the match. In a match played under lights, Prendergast (27* off 15 balls) and Gaby Lewis (20* off 18 balls) put up an undefeated second-wicket stand of 36. Ireland now leads the five-match series 4-0.The match, which was shortened to eight overs-a-side, finally started after more than two and a half hours of delay. Ireland made two changes from the team that finished the series on Tuesday, replacing Freya Sargent and Alana Dalzell with Leah Paul and Ava Canning. After winning the toss, Irish captain Laura Delany decided to bowl first. With the last ball of her first over, Georgina Dempsey removed the threatening Mary-Ann Musonda with a full toss that the Zimbabwean captain smashed straight to Gaby Lewis at point. The most notable wicket fall occurred when Cara Murray darted to her right to follow through with a rapid throw to Amy Hunter, beating Chiedza Dhururu (12), who was caught short of the crease. The wickets dropped at regular intervals. After that, Delany bowled Nyasha Gwanzura with the last ball, bringing the hosts' eight overs total to 65-5.Hunter started the run chase well, hitting a short ball from spinner Precious Marange over the cover for four. But, after four overs, with Ireland up 34-1, she fell on 19.The chase was difficult due to Zimbabwe's bowling, and young spinner Ndhlovu was assigned to deliver the last over in an attempt to stop nine runs from being scored. Prendergast won it with a maximum over midwicket after Lewis got three off the first two balls. He then calmly stroked 10 runs off the next three balls. On Friday, February 2, the teams will play the series' last game. At the Harare Sports Club, the game will begin at 4.30 p.m. (Irish time) and will be played under lights as well.

Trump calls Trudeau 'governor' and Canada 'a magnificent state' in an attempt to make fun of him.

On Tuesday, President-elect Donald Trump made fun of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau by referring to him as a "governor" and dubbing Canada a "great state," which is just another indication that the incoming president believes this nation should join the US.During his dinner with Trudeau at Mar-a-Lago last month, Trump reportedly made a joke about Canada becoming the 51st state. Trump stated in an interview with NBC News on Sunday that the United States might as well become a state if it continues to accrue large trade deficits with Canada.During his dinner with Trudeau at Mar-a-Lago last month, Trump reportedly made a joke about Canada becoming the 51st state. Trump stated in an interview with NBC News on Sunday that the United States might as well become a state if it continues to accrue large trade deficits with Canada."Eating supper with Great State of Canada Governor Justin Trudeau the other night was enjoyable. I'm excited to visit the governor again soon so we can continue our in-depth discussions on trade and tariffs, which will have absolutely amazing outcomes for everyone. Trump stated in a message on social media. Why Trump is making this annexation joke public is unknown, but it may be because Trudeau implied on Monday that Canada is ready to take action against the United States if Trump imposes a severe 25% tariff on all Canadian imports. "We will, of course, as we did eight years ago, respond to unfair tariffs in a number of ways and we're still looking at the right ways to respond," Trudeau stated, referring to Canada's first-term response to Trump's steel and aluminum tariffs.

A Thai court dismisses a politician; the partys future is yet unknown.

Despite avoiding disqualification from politics, a political leader in Thailand who guided his party to an unexpected electoral victory amid concerns of upending the nation's strong conservative establishment is still in doubt about his own and his party's political future.   On Wednesday, Pita Limjaroenrat, 43, was found not guilty of violating election laws by running for office while owning stock in a media company, the now-defunct broadcaster iTV, according to a case dismissed by Thailand's Constitutional Court.Parliamentarians are not permitted to own stock in media companies under Thai law. Pita was granted a majority decision by eight of the nine judges on the panel, stating that he had not broken the constitution because iTV had not been in operation since 2007, prior to his application for the party-list candidacy. This decision is one of two much awaited rulings against Pita and the progressive Move Forward Party that may lead to the dissolution of Thailand's most successful party in the most recent election, as well as the imposition of bans and criminal charges against its leaders.   Pita told reporters outside the courtroom following Wednesday's verdict that he will keep working for the people and that he hopes to return to his parliamentary duties "as soon as possible." I'll be there whenever I'm permitted entry," he declared.   Cheering "PM Pita," a reference to his candidacy for prime minister, supporters outside the court declared that justice had been served. While some carried signs that said, "We will always support the party," others made fun of the Election Commission for bringing the matter before the judge. Bangkok resident Supravee Sansuk, 63, said she is once again confident in the Thai legal system as a result of the outcome.   "I was concerned that the decision would go the other way. I was therefore ecstatic to hear the good news. Pita was innocent from the start, and the court shouldn't have been notified of this case,

Cult of 5am: advantages and disadvantages of rising early

The "5am club" is becoming increasingly popular, despite the fact that some people view it as a smug wellness fad and others swear by it as a morning miracle.More and more individuals are getting up early, whether it's to exercise, meditate, journal, pick up a new skill, or simply get moving. However, will you actually "win the day" with this technique, or will it only wear you out later?Leadership expert Robin Sharma claimed in his book "The 5am Club" that the technique enables one to attain "productivity, prosperity, performance and impact" comparable to that of "superstars, virtuosos, and geniuses."In fact, journalists who have tested the wellness trend have reported higher productivity. According to Anya Meyerowitz in Glamour, "my day-to-day motivation around work has gone up," and she was "bursting" with ideas. Shannon Talbot stated, "I was definitely more productive," on Today's Parent.Cons: impracticability An early start necessitates an early bedtime, which is a disadvantage. Russell Foster, chairman of Oxford University's Sleep and Circadian Neuroscience Institute, told The Guardian that many individuals would have to go to bed by 9 p.m. in order to receive enough sleep. "Unfortunately, most of us aren’t able to do that," due to "all this stuff we need to do, whether that be helping kids with homework or putting a load of washing on" . Another issue with a 9 p.m. bedtime is that other people, whether they be neighbors, family members, or random onlookers, are still probably going to be out and about, making it difficult to obtain a good night's sleep at such an early hour.

Wiley's Jarrett on how ethical AI can revolutionize the publishing business

The way researchers interact with their readers is being profoundly altered by artificial intelligence (AI), which is also making the scholarly publishing industry more technologically oriented. While human input is still crucial for publication authorship, AI's contribution is constantly growing, according to Josh Jarrett, Senior Vice-President of AI Growth at Wiley, a multinational research and publishing company with a strong presence in India, who spoke with TechCircle. He described how Wiley is prioritizing ethical considerations while improving the publishing experience through the proper use of AI/ML (Machine Learning). Edited passages:How can scholars effectively use AI for scholarly publishing? For a long time, Wiley has strategically chosen to use AI to enhance research procedures. According to recent surveys, scientists are struggling with fundamental issues with AI's capacity to improve language, analyze intricate data, and produce novel theories. We are especially excited about AI's potential to improve authorship, create simulations, find undiscovered gaps, help with literature reviews, and expedite research workflows. But we also acknowledge the difference between cautious experts and eager early adopters. By creating strong standards, policies, procedures, and instruments that uphold integrity, we hope to close this gap and guarantee that Wiley and its collaborators influence the direction of AI research in the future.

Although DIY collagen supplements are popular for beautiful skin, experts warn

Amla, beetroot, carrot, and apple are common household ingredients that have gained attention in the pursuit of youthful, glowing skin. Skinfluencers are promoting a drink made from these ingredients as a collagen supplement. When the year comes to an end, "collagen" is the term that has sparked the whole cosmetics business. Beauty firms have made significant investments in the trend as a result of the fascination this phrase has caused. You ask, how? By introducing a variety of collagen-based products, including as protein powders, supplements, and moisturizers, you have drawn the interest of beauty influencers worldwide. However, collagen remained for all the right reasons and appears to be here to stay, in contrast to other trends that come and go.However, what is collagen? According to Mumbai-based nutritionist and wellness specialist Debjani Gupta, who spoke to India Today, collagen is an essential protein that accounts for around 30% of the body's overall protein content. It is essential for maintaining the firmness, plumpness, and suppleness of the skin. Higher collagen levels in our twenties and thirties give the skin a firm, toned, and glowing appearance, especially when combined with appropriate eating and lifestyle choices. But as we get older—into our forties and fifties—our bodies produce less collagen, which results in aging symptoms including drooping skin and a lighter skin tone.Collagen's roles in the body The body uses collagen for a number of essential purposes, including: Replacing dead cells: It encourages new cell development. Organ protection: Collagen acts as a barrier to keep important organs safe. Preserving skin elasticity: It gives the skin strength, suppleness, elasticity, and structure. Supporting blood coagulation: In the event of an injury, collagen is essential for blood coagulation.Collagen has gained popularity due to all of these benefits, particularly its ability to increase skin suppleness. However, the cost of collagen supplements and powders is high (an average of Rs 2,500 for 500 gm), which has led Indians in particular to turn to "juggad" and choose natural recipes that are said to increase the body's production of collagen.
