Pawan Singh of the BJP Discusses Running for the Lok Sabha
Pawan Singh, an actor and singer from Bhojpur, stated on Monday that "time would tell" if he decided to run in the next Lok Sabha elections. Speaking to the media following his meeting with BJP president JP Nadda, Singh—who had been scheduled to run as the BJP candidate from Asansol in West Bengal but declared he would not after receiving negative feedback on his candidacy—avoided discussing the reasons behind his decision. "I spoke with the president of the party. After meeting with Nadda, Singh told the media, "Whatever happens in the future will be good." "That only time would tell," he responded when asked if he would run in the upcoming elections. I'll let you know if something occurs. Put it on hold for the time being "... On the other hand, Singh declined to respond to inquiries regarding the reasons behind his choice.Singh withdrew his name from the Lok Sabha election contest on Sunday from the West Bengal seat of Asansol, one day after the BJP announced him as its candidate from the seat currently held by Shatrughan Sinha of the Trinamool Congress (TMC).Singh thanked the BJP leadership in a post on X, but he also stated that he would not be able to run from Asansol "due to some reason," without providing an explanation.

""In addition to chatting with the prime minister, I brought up state-related issues with him,"" Banerjee told reporters following the meeting.Beginning on Friday, PM Modi will spend the night at Raj Bhavan while on a two-day tour of West Bengal. The prime minister arrived at the governor's house shortly after Banerjee's convoy pulled in. Governor C V Ananda Bose took to X and said he met the PM at the Raj Bhavan. Congress To Defend 18 Seats in Maharashtra Opposition Seat Deal
According to sources who spoke with NDTV on Friday morning, the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance in Maharashtra has decided on a seat-sharing agreement for the 2024 Lok Sabha election. In 48 hours, there'll probably be an official announcement. Sources claim that 20 of the 48 Lok Sabha seats in the state will be contested by the Shiv Sena faction, which is led by former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. The Nationalist Congress Party unit under Sharad Pawar will field candidates for the remaining 10 seats, with the Congress contesting 18 of them. The Sena (UBT) will give two seats to regional parties like Vanchit Bahujan Aaghadi, and Mr. Pawar's share will give a ticket to an independent candidate named Raju Shetty.Additionally, according to sources, the Sena (UBT) will run for four of Mumbai's six Lok Sabha seats; the VBA may receive one of them, potentially the Mumbai North East seat. The MVA's seat-sharing agreement is a significant step forward for the opposition bloc in India, which is attempting to finalize agreements as soon as possible because the election is scheduled for a few weeks from now. State parties have consistently pushed the national outfit to secure a larger share of seats, making it difficult for the Congress-led group—which was founded in June of last year with the specific goal of unseating Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bharatiya Janata Party—to reach agreements. Its task has been made even more difficult by the Congress's miserable electoral record over the past ten years, particularly in 2014 and 2019, when it won a combined total of fewer than 100 seats. In Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav's Samajwadi Party has been riding the alliance to an almost impossible level. After the Congress persisted in negotiating Mamata Banerjee's "final" offer of two seats—the same (and only) two it had won the previous time—the Trinamool Congress in Bengal even ended all negotiations with the party.

The Himachal Crisis and Congress: Navjot Sidhus War Cry
Navjot Sidhu's War Cry During Congress' Himachal Crisis: "Purge The Party" After launching a fierce attack this morning on six party lawmakers who crossed-vote in Tuesday's Rajya Sabha election, which the party should have easily won, Navjot Singh Sidhu, the leader of the Congress in Punjab, appeared to be siding with the Bharatiya Janata Party. A political crisis in the hill state, where the Congress won less than two years ago, has been brought on by the shocking Rajya Sabha loss. The BJP is now demanding that Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu's weakened government demonstrate its strength in the 68-member House.Next, Mr. Sidhu attacked "masqueraders" who were "secretly dancing to the tunes of agencies like CBI, ED" and said that leaders in the Congress should be removed for "prioritizing personal gain over the collective good." "'Masqueraders' (for) plum posts, covertly dancing to the tunes of agencies like Central Bureau of Investigation, Enforcement Directorate, and Income Tax Department, have spelt doomsday for us many-a-times!" said he.

Politics
Politics is one of the most discussed topic in every corner of the globe and almost every citizen wants to know what is happening in domestic politics as well as the world politics which is now a days dominated by USA followed by India and China politics.
Many items in my business are designed: Piyush Pandey
I spent a brief time working at Ogilvy Mumbai in the early years of my profession. I was definitely looking forward to meeting Piyush and simply watching and learning from his talent. It was the strongest incentive to sign up. However, deep down I was also realistic about it. I was aware that he would never have a conversation with a junior. After joining, I came to the realization that he most likely would have, but I also understood it was impossible given the amount of work he had to accomplish each day. And boy, was I glad I was. Apart from the fact that he is an advertising genius, these are the things I picked up from him during my tenure, even though I never worked directly with him.I learned the power of words from him. On my first day there, I recall being sucked into a film short for a newly launched bank. I expected an assignment when I walked in, but instead I got a really good poem. It was exquisite. The story and the slogan were both brimming with skill. Written specifically for the pitch, Piyush delivered it to the group by reading it aloud. The client gave it their blessing because it was so clever. It was enjoyable to come up with ways to carry it out. That day made me proud to be a copywriter because he demonstrated to me the power of words to accomplish goals that so many rounds of PowerPoints couldn't. I learned from him that leaders are people too.Everyone gathered on the floor to celebrate Piyush's birthday by cutting cakes. He was asked to speak a few words, as custom would have it. He became so overcome by the festivities during his remarks that he started crying. The largest agency leader in our nation displayed weakness during a time when all of them exuded strength and conceit. Furthermore, this was taking place in front of 200 or more workers. And we all cherished it. He taught me early on that leaders are people too and that it's appropriate to occasionally display your feelings as a leader since it's the right thing to do.
The biggest shake-up in Congress history
"The Congress announced significant organizational changes on Saturday in advance of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, including the removal of Priyanka Gandhi as the party's leader in Uttar Pradesh. The ancient party has named Ramesh Chennithala as its Maharashtra in-charge and Sachin Pilot, a former deputy chief minister of Rajasthan, as the leader of the Chhattisgarh Congress. With no designated job, Priyanka Gandhi will continue to serve as the party's general secretary, the Congress stated in a statement. The Congress president, Mallikarjun Kharge, presided over a meeting of the Congress Working Committee (CWC), the party's highest decision-making body, two days prior to the appointments. Senior leaders, including Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, were present. Senior leaders Randeep Singh Surjewala, K C Venugopal, Mukul Wasnik, and Jairam Ramesh continue to serve as general secretaries, with responsibility for Gujarat, Karnataka, communication, and organization, respectively. According to the statement, Deepak Babaria is in charge of Delhi and Haryana, while Jitendra Singh, the general secretary in charge of Assam, was assigned the additional charge of Madhya Pradesh."
Congress rearranges the leadership group, giving Sachin Pilot a major role
"With the Lok Sabha elections quickly approaching, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge completed the much-needed reorganization of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) secretariat on Saturday. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was relieved of her duties as general secretary for the crucial state of Uttar Pradesh, and Sachin Pilot was named general secretary for the state of Chhattisgarh. These nominations followed the party's appointment of a manifesto committee, chaired by former Union Minister P Chidambaram, to formulate the party's platform and issues for the Lok Sabha election campaign. Several leaders of the party urged the Congress Working Committee (CWC) to act quickly and begin organizing for the general elections on Thursday. As general secretary, Priyanka will remain so ""without any assigned portfolio."" There are rumors that she might receive a significant position within the company. The AICC general secretary Pilot's promotion and Ashok Gehlot's appointment to the national alliance committee earlier this week suggest that the Congress may consider a different candidate for Rajasthan's Leader of the Opposition position. granted that Pilot has been granted a function outside of the state and that Ashok Gehlot was included in a national alliance group earlier this week, Congress may be considering a new candidate for Rajasthan's Leader of the Opposition."
Avinash Pande is who? The new UP chief for the Congress, who took over for Priyanka Gandhi
"In the party's reorganization ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Avinash Pande took over as the Congress General Secretary overseeing Uttar Pradesh, replacing Priyanka Gandhi. Ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress party named senior leader Avinash Pande as the General Secretary responsible for Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. Pande responded to the appointment by writing on X, ""I swear, Smt. Priyanka ji, to uphold your legacy."" I shall fully utilize the authority bestowed upon me as the General Secretary in charge as well as the task that has been assigned to me."
"Those who receive a summons from Lord Ram...”: BJP as CPM's Yechury turns down an invitation to Ayodhya
"Following the CPI(M)'s confirmation on Tuesday that it will not be attending the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, a furor broke out. Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi stated, ""Invitations were sent to all (but) only those called by Lord Ram will come,"" in an interview with news agency ANI.I received the invitation from Nripendra Mishra ji and a leader of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. The CPI(M) respects and upholds each person's freedom to practice any religion they so choose. But now, the state is funding this inauguration ceremony. Attendees at the event will include the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, the Prime Minister, and other constitutional officials. Politicization like this is wrong, Yechury said to India Today TV. ""According to the Constitution and the Supreme Court, the state shall not profess any particular religion or have any religious affiliation,"" he added. Our stance is to uphold each person's freedom to practice their religion and their beliefs. Religion is a matter of personal preference that should not be used as a political tool. Despite being invited, Comrade Sitaram Yechury will not be attending the ceremony, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) announced on X."
Amit Shah and JP Nadda are scheduled to meet in Kolkata prior to the Lok Sabha elections.
"On Tuesday, December 16, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda arrived in Kolkata to evaluate West Bengal's organizational readiness for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Throughout the day, West Bengal BJP workers are expected to attend a number of organizational meetings with Amit Shah and JP Nadda. On the occasion of Veer Baal Diwas, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda attended and offered prayers at Gurudwara Bara Sikh Sangat in Kolkata on Tuesday."
Caste, religion, and god in Kannada: How Karnataka Rakshana Vedike came to represent the state's language war
On Wednesday, the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) made headlines once more when its members destroyed non-Kannada signage and vandalized commercial establishments in Bengaluru, demanding that they have 60% Kannada. The demand has been made by pro-Kannada organizations previously. However, Wednesday’s vandalism came after the state government directed all establishments to sport Kannada signboards prominently and the Bengaluru civic body – Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) – set a February 28, 2024, deadline for the same.Parties have refrained from confronting the KRV due to its influence and network, which have been established over 20 years, and Siddaramaiah government's cautious response to the most recent wave of vandalism."
Congress seeks to determine a ""safe"" path after the Ram Temple event, where the road was paved with mines.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust invited the Congress to the Pran Pratishtha, or consecration ceremony, of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, but the Congress is not at all happy about the invitation. The Congress is caught in a political minefield, trying to craft a stance that won't do too much electoral damage, knowing that the BJP stands to gain political ground from the ceremony on the eve of the Lok Sabha elections. The matter may also cause rifts within the INDIA alliance. The Trinamool Congress has hinted that Mamata will speak at the function, although the CPI(M) has formally announced that its general secretary Sitaram Yechury will not be there and has criticized the BJP and RSS for combining religion and politics. In response to the Cong predicament, Shashi Tharoor says that invitees ought to have the freedom to choose, ""rather than being described as 'anti-Hindu' if they don't go, or 'playing into BJP hands' if they do."""
The main political events of 2023, in numbers
Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the new Parliament building on May 28. The Lok Sabh However, in terms of Parliament's operations, the year was still turbulent. It started with the chaotic Budget Session, which saw the second-lowest amount of time this government has ever spent in office. Though the Monsoon and Winter Sessions saw some of the most Bills passed since 2019, the productivity of the next two regular Sessions of Parliament suffered as well. However, there were constant interruptions during each session, and many important and divisive bills were passed with little to no debate. The government called a Special Session in September and unveiled the women's reservation bill, which aimed to give women 33% of the seats in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies, shocking the electorate ahead of the Assembly poll. During this session, the Bill was approved by both Houses.a chamber now has 888 seats, up from 543 in the previous building. Additionally, the Rajya Sabha chamber's capacity was increased from 250 to 384 seats. Although the precise amount has not been disclosed, the construction is thought to have cost around Rs 1,200 crore. However, because the PM was launching the Parliament and ""sidelining"" President Droupadi Murmu, the legitimate head of state, twenty opposition parties, representing 242 MPs in both Houses, boycotted the inauguration."
Any anti-sacrilege law must have strict safeguards to prevent its weaponization, said Akal Takht Jathedar.
The debate over Punjab's anti-sacrilege law has intensified after Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj, the Jathedar of the Akal Takht, said that any law dealing with sacrilege must include strong safeguards to prevent its misuse. In an interview published on Tuesday, he clarified that the Akal Takht is not opposed to legislation aimed at preventing sacrilege but wants a law that protects innocent people from being falsely implicated.According to Gargajj, past experiences with laws such as those related to sedition and anti-terror provisions have shown that legal measures can sometimes be misused. He argued that sacrilege is an extremely sensitive issue in Punjab and that any new law should clearly distinguish between deliberate acts of desecration and cases of administrative negligence. He warned that harsh penalties for unintentional lapses could lead to injustice. The Jathedar also suggested that the law should go beyond punishing the individual who physically commits an act of sacrilege. He said that if investigations reveal links to organisations, sects, or deras that allegedly encourage or plan such acts, their leadership should also face legal action. In his view, targeting only the immediate accused would leave the real conspirators untouched and weaken the effectiveness of the legislation. Another point of concern raised by the Akal Takht relates to the wording of the proposed law. Religious authorities have objected to certain definitions and terminology, arguing that they do not accurately reflect Sikh religious beliefs and traditions. They have urged the Punjab government to revise these provisions after consulting Sikh institutions before implementing the law.The issue has also led to growing tensions between the Akal Takht and the Aam Aadmi Party-led Punjab government. Recently, the Akal Takht issued a warning to the government over what it described as defamatory campaigns against Sikh institutions and continued to press for amendments to the anti-sacrilege legislation. The Punjab government, on the other hand, has maintained that the objective of the law is to provide stronger legal protection against incidents of sacrilege. It has also expanded the list of protected religious terms and symbols used during investigations. The debate is expected to continue as both the government and Sikh religious authorities seek a balance between safeguarding religious sentiments and ensuring that the law cannot be misused for political or personal purposes.
Uddhav Thackeray’s Hindutva reset How Ayodhya row handed him an opening
The alleged irregularities in donations to the Ayodhya Ram Temple have provided a fresh political opportunity for Uddhav Thackeray to reclaim the Hindutva narrative that has long been associated with the Shiv Sena. Launching the 'Ram Raksha Andolan' in Maharashtra, the Shiv Sena (UBT) chief accused the BJP of exploiting Hindu sentiments and demanded an impartial investigation into the alleged misuse of temple donations. At a rally in Mumbai, Thackeray revived slogans closely linked to his father, Bal Thackeray, including "Garv Se Kaho Hum Hindu Hain." He argued that his party had never abandoned Hindutva, but had only parted ways with the BJP. By doing so, he attempted to re-establish Shiv Sena (UBT) as the original champion of Hindutva while accusing the BJP of turning the ideology into a political tool.Thackeray also alleged that those responsible for the alleged donation irregularities could not be trusted to investigate themselves. He called for an independent probe, stating that "those looting Hindus are in power." His remarks sought to shift the debate from temple construction to accountability and transparency in the management of religious donations. The political significance of this campaign extends beyond the Ayodhya controversy. Since the 2022 split in the Shiv Sena, the BJP and the faction led by Eknath Shinde have repeatedly accused Uddhav Thackeray of abandoning Hindutva after aligning with the Congress and the NCP. By making the Ram Temple issue central to his campaign, Thackeray is attempting to counter that narrative and reconnect with traditional Sena supporters. The BJP has rejected Thackeray's allegations and responded by saying that he had "finally remembered Ram." Party leaders maintain that Uddhav's campaign is politically motivated, while reiterating that investigations into the donation controversy are already underway. Meanwhile, the Ram Temple Trust is reviewing developments related to the case as public attention remains focused on the issue.Political observers believe the Ayodhya donation row has handed Uddhav Thackeray an opening to revive his party's core ideological identity ahead of future elections. Whether this strategy succeeds will depend on the outcome of the investigation and whether voters view his renewed emphasis on Hindutva as credible or primarily a political response to the BJP's dominance over the issue.
Why the Vijay governments White Paper raises financial concerns ahead of the Tamil Nadu budget
Ahead of the upcoming Tamil Nadu Budget, the government led by C. Joseph Vijay has released a White Paper on the state's finances, presenting a serious assessment of Tamil Nadu's fiscal position. The document reviews the financial performance of the previous administration and highlights rising debt, shrinking revenues, and increasing financial obligations that could limit the government's ability to introduce new welfare schemes and development projects. According to the White Paper, Tamil Nadu's outstanding liabilities have increased significantly over the past five years, touching nearly ₹10 lakh crore. While the debt-to-GDP ratio has remained relatively stable, the absolute debt burden has grown rapidly, making Tamil Nadu one of the most indebted states in the country. The report also notes that the state's per capita debt is higher than that of several other major industrial states, raising concerns about long-term financial sustainability. Another major concern highlighted in the report is the sharp rise in interest payments. The government warns that Tamil Nadu is entering a "debt-interest spiral," where increasing borrowings are required simply to service existing debt. Interest payments now consume nearly a quarter of the state's revenue receipts, leaving less money available for infrastructure projects, public services, and new welfare initiatives. The White Paper also points to weakening revenue generation. Although tax collections have increased in absolute terms, they have declined as a share of the state's Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The report argues that slower revenue growth, combined with rising expenditure on salaries, pensions, and interest payments, has created a structural revenue deficit that has persisted for several years. The document further states that Tamil Nadu's share of central tax devolution has steadily declined over the years, adding pressure on the state's finances. The government contends that reduced transfers from the Centre, coupled with high committed expenditure, have constrained fiscal flexibility. As a result, funding new development programmes without additional borrowing has become increasingly difficult.
Could Devendra Fadnavis counter Eknath Shindes ascent
Fresh political developments in Maharashtra have sparked intense speculation over the evolving power balance within the ruling Mahayuti alliance. The debate gained momentum after the Shinde-led Shiv Sena strengthened its position by attracting several leaders from the rival Shiv Sena (UBT), including prominent legislators and parliamentarians. These defections have significantly enhanced Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde's political influence, raising questions about whether his growing stature could eventually challenge Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis' dominance. The latest round of political shifts has been linked to what opposition leaders have termed "Operation Tiger." According to political observers, the campaign has not only weakened the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) but has also strengthened Shinde's bargaining power within the Mahayuti coalition. Some analysts believe these developments could give Shinde greater leverage over future policy decisions, cabinet appointments, and seat-sharing discussions ahead of upcoming elections. Despite the speculation, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) continues to project unity within the alliance. Devendra Fadnavis remains the Chief Minister and the BJP's most prominent leader in Maharashtra, while Shinde has repeatedly maintained that the alliance remains stable. Political commentators note that both leaders currently depend on each other to keep the coalition government functioning smoothly, making any immediate confrontation unlikely. At the same time, opposition parties have attempted to portray the recent political developments as signs of internal competition within the ruling alliance. Leaders from the Shiv Sena (UBT) and other opposition parties have alleged that the defections are part of a larger political strategy that could eventually alter the balance of power between Fadnavis and Shinde. However, these claims remain political assertions, and neither the BJP nor the Shinde-led Shiv Sena has indicated any change in the existing leadership arrangement.
Naveen Patnaiks full-circle moment: The former chief minister uses his old strategy to oppose the BJP
Former Odisha Chief Minister and current Leader of the Opposition, Naveen Patnaik, is once again relying on a strategy that defined much of his 24-year tenure—positioning himself as the defender of Odisha’s interests against decisions taken by the Centre. After losing power to the BJP in 2024, Patnaik has increasingly focused on state-centric issues such as delimitation, parliamentary representation, the Mahanadi water dispute, and law-and-order concerns to challenge the BJP government in Odisha. Political observers describe this as a “full-circle moment” because Patnaik used a similar approach in the past to build and strengthen the Biju Janata Dal. By emphasizing Odisha’s regional identity and portraying himself as the protector of the state's interests, he successfully maintained political dominance for over two decades. Now, as the BJP governs Odisha under Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Patnaik appears to be reviving the same formula from the opposition benches. In recent weeks, Patnaik has criticized the BJP government over the handling of the Mahanadi river dispute, expressed concerns about proposals that could reduce Odisha’s representation in Parliament, and raised questions about governance and public safety. These interventions indicate a shift from his traditionally restrained style toward a more active opposition role aimed at reconnecting with voters and rebuilding the BJD’s political momentum.
Chor Chor To Eggs, Stones The Story Of Abhishek Banerjees Attack
Former West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee claimed at 11 p.m. outside Kolkata's Belle Vue Clinic that police and the ruling BJP were threatening doctors to refuse to admit her nephew Abhishek Banerjee, hours after he was heckled, thrown eggs, shoes, stones, and slushy mud at Sonarpur during his first public appearance since the party's election defeat in the state. On Saturday, Abhishek Banerjee went to see the relatives of TMC employees who had reportedly perished in violence during the election. Around 1:30 pm, he arrived at the home of TMC MLA Kunal Ghosh in Beleghata, where the relatives of Biswajit Pattanayak, a victim of reported post-election violence, were summoned to meet him. A group of CID officers and a videographer arrived at Abhishek Banerjee's home around eight kilometers distant to deliver a notice regarding the purported Vidhan Sabha signature scam. The CID was notified by his protection that he was not at home. Meanwhile, he posted on Twitter, saying, "Today, I visited the family of Biswajit Pattanayak in Beleghata. "Abhishek Banerjee received an in-person notice from the CID team at 2:22 pm to appear before the investigative agency headquarters at Bhawani Bhavan on Monday at 12 pm regarding the TMC MLAs signature scandal inquiry. After that, Abhishek Banerjee traveled to the South 24 Parganas district's Sonarpur. When BJP members were spotted getting ready for protests nearby, the three-term MP from Diamond Harbour, which is in the same district, had not yet arrived at his destination. At some areas, black flags were visible, and demonstrators were shouting "go back" chants. In Sonarpur, groups of women also congregated at various locations. They joined in shouting identical slogans, however they were observed wielding eggs rather than black flags. As the convoy went through the neighborhood, these eggs were thrown at Abhishek Banerjee and his teammates.
Why the BJP benefits from the Himachal vote results despite Chief Minister Sukhu appeal for local factors
The BJP's win in three of the state's four municipal corporation elections has given the opposition a lift and a chance to test its narrative against the ruling Congress government with just a year until the 2027 Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections. The BJP's assertion that public opinion is shifting against the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led government has been strengthened by the results, which are the first significant urban electoral verdict for the Congress since the party regained power in the hill state in 2022. The Himachal Pradesh urban local body (ULB) election results were advantageous to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) since it won direct, party-symbol-driven municipal elections. The BJP presented the victories as a popular vote on his state government, while Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu blamed these defeats on "local factors" and significant Congress support in village panchayats.
Arun Lakhani a Pawars related Maharashtra BJP candidate for MLC Who is he
After the BJP nominated him from the Wardha-Chandrapur-Gadchiroli Local Authorities constituency for the June 18 state MLC elections, Nagpur-based industrialist and BJP leader Arun Lakhani became the focus of political discourse. In addition to holding a prominent position in the Maharashtra BJP and being close to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Lakhani will soon be related to NCP (SP) MP Supriya Sule. Due to his son Sarang Lakhani's engagement to Sule's daughter Revati, his candidacy has drawn interest from both parties.Because Lakhani is not from any of the three districts that comprise the seat, his nomination has also generated controversy. The BJP's decision to nominate a candidate who is seen as an outsider has raised concerns because the seat has always been represented by figures with deep ties to Wardha, Chandrapur, or Gadchiroli. But Lakhani is a well-known figure in the BJP. He has a long history with the Maharashtra BJP and serves as its co-treasurer. His selection is thought to have been influenced by his social activities in Vidarbha, his work in the infrastructure industry, and his close relations to the BJP leadership, which includes both Gadkari and Fadnavis. Before going into business, Lakhani, who was born in Malkapur in the Buldhana district, studied petrochemical engineering. He is the Chairman and Managing Director of Vishvaraj Environment Ltd., a business that deals with road construction, wastewater treatment, and water delivery.Lakhani is best known for the Nagpur 24x7 water delivery project, which was one of the first significant initiatives in India to use a public-private partnership (PPP) model to offer municipal water around-the-clock.
A lesson from Sachin Pilot in Rajasthan behind the Congress leadershis decision in Karnataka
Every time Siddaramaiah has been questioned about rumors surrounding the Karnataka Chief Minister position over the last six months, he has said that he would resign at the request of the high command. This claim was likely motivated by the conviction that Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, would not approve of a change of leadership in the southern state. The internal power struggle between Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot, which severely harmed the Congress party's reputation and stability in Rajasthan between 2020 and 2023, is referred to as the "lesson from Sachin Pilot in Rajasthan." Congress leaders now seem committed to preventing Siddaramaiah and D. K. Shivakumar from developing a similar rivalry in Karnataka.Pilot felt marginalized in Rajasthan even after he assisted the Congress in regaining power in 2018. The protracted struggle for the chief minister's position ultimately resulted in a 2020 uprising, Pilot's expulsion from party positions, and years of internal strife between factions. The public dispute, according to many commentators, undermined Congress's organizational and political strength.Speculation over a leadership change has now increased in Karnataka, although the Congress high command is proceeding cautiously. Party officials are attempting to prevent open factional conflict and have officially denied any quick shift.
A hot wave is gripping Uttar Pradesh the BJP is being criticized for power outages and smart meters
Growing power outages throughout Uttar Pradesh have sparked political responses. State energy minister Arvind Kumar Sharma has received emails and social media posts from lawmakers from both the BJP and the opposition over the deteriorating electricity situation during the hottest summer months.Prateek Bhushan Singh, a BJP MLA from Gonda Sadar, said that his district and seat were experiencing a "serious electricity crisis." Singh described the problem as "extremely sensitive and urgent," claiming that frequent outages during periods of excessive heat had caused inhabitants great distress and interfered with daily living, work, and company operations. He asked for quick action to find a long-term solution and encouraged the minister to guarantee an emergency system for continuous power delivery, especially at night. Large portions of the state are experiencing extreme heat, which is driving increasing electrical demand due to increased usage of cooling appliances and irrigation loads. This has resulted in outages that can last up to 48 hours, disrupting a variety of services, including water delivery.
Digital wrath, AI avatars, and weaponized humor The Cockroach Janta Partys viral structure
Officially, the worldwide script of identity reclamation and political resistance has changed. A quick case study in programmatic activism is the "Cockroach Janta Party" (CJP), a humorous online movement with over 20 million Instagram followers and over 80,000 automatic sign-ups in just three days. The spoof front was started from the United States by public relations student and digital strategist Abhijeet Dipke in response to online outrage over comments purportedly ascribed to Chief Justice Surya Kant that compared young people without jobs to "cockroaches" and "parasites." By avoiding the digital fingerprints of mainstream political organizations through hyper-targeted memes, ironic eligibility requirements, and AI-generated cockroach mascots, what started out as a subversive joke quickly became a viral phenomenon.Public interest only grew as authorities blocked its digital pipelines by blocking its X account and shutting down its main website in India. The CJP used weaponized humor to take control of the national news cycle for a generation that is known for doom scrolling and using social media as their main source of information. This movement heralds a time when technology has completely eliminated the cost of rebellion, making algorithmic virality a valid kind of civic presence amid underlying disputes about regional follower anomalies. Industry pioneers and strategy architects revealed what happens when a generation talks in memes to demand a seat at the table in an in-depth examination of contemporary digital consumption. The fundamental principle of the CJP is to transform a derogatory label into an AI-branded badge of honor. This tactical reappropriation functions as a kind of defense, according to experts."Let's not forget we are talking about the internet," says Danny Advani, Head of Strategy at Dot Media, highlighting the unadulterated power of online anonymity combined with humor. a location that even grants authority to the anonymous. Indeed, it accomplishes both, which is precisely why it was successful. Traditional institutions lag behind Gen Z in their understanding of humor. Humor serves as both a political language and a protective mechanism. An insult loses its sting the instant you reclaim it and transform it into a movement. That is the fundamentals of internet culture.
Oggy Janta Party vs. Cockroach Janta Party: A new political battle on the internet
Following the filing of two distinct trademark applications for the term "Cockroach Janta Party" in the midst of the movement's explosive social media popularity, the viral rise of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has now entered a legal phase. The event occurred soon after a legal demand notice allegedly resulted in the movement's X account being withheld in India. Simultaneously, the youth-led satirical campaign proceeded to garner enormous internet traction through political commentary, memes, and Instagram. The movement began when Surya Kant's contentious comments during a Supreme Court hearing sparked online indignation and ridicule.Following remarks made by Chief Justice Surya Kant during a recent hearing that went viral online, the hashtag #CockroachJanataParty started to trend. The Chief Justice reportedly likened young people without jobs who turned to media, social media, and RTI activism to "cockroaches."But by then, the term had already become a popular online trend. The Cockroach Janta Party page and associated social media profiles were soon established by Abhijeet Dipke, a political communications consultant and former Aam Aadmi Party volunteer. According to reports, the campaign gained millions of followers on X and Instagram in a matter of days.
