How to remedy the five typical foods that may prevent your body from absorbing vitamin D
Immune system performance, bone health, and general well-being all depend on getting adequate vitamin D. While sunshine exposure and supplements might assist, many everyday meals may actually interfere with your body’s absorption of this vital mineral. Understanding these relationships can make a substantial difference in maintaining optimal vitamin D levels. Even a diet high in vitamin D or appropriate supplementation may not be as beneficial if we eat foods that prevent the absorption of the nutrient. Many people are unaware that their intake of vitamin D isn't being properly utilized by their body because of factors like fat content, specific minerals, or compounds in certain meals that can lower its bioavailability. To find out which five frequent foods might hinder the absorption of vitamin D and the mechanism underlying their effects, we consulted with an expert.According to Ashlesha Joshi, a nutritionist and fitness dietitian at Tone 30 Pilates, "some foods can affect how efficiently the body absorbs or uses vitamin D," as reported by indianexpress.com. The most prominent of these are foods that include phytates, like whole grains and legumes, which can bind to minerals and vitamin D and hinder absorption. Caffeine from tea or coffee in excess can also cause problems by lowering the expression of vitamin D receptors in the intestines. Regular alcohol consumption damages liver function, which is necessary for the conversion of vitamin D into its active form. Trans fats and hydrogenated oils included in processed foods might hinder the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins, such as vitamin D. Finally, because vitamin D is fat-soluble and needs dietary lipids for effective uptake, particularly high-fibre diets, while generally healthy, might occasionally limit absorption efficiency.According to Joshi, "since vitamin D is fat-soluble, combining it with good fats can greatly enhance absorption." For example, eating foods high in vitamin D, such as salmon, eggs, or fortified cereals, together with foods high in healthy fats, like avocado, olive oil, or almonds, can improve absorption. Consuming foods high in vitamin K2, such as fermented soy or cheese, also aids in calcium metabolism and complements vitamin D. She adds that timing is also important, saying that consuming vitamin D-fortified meals or pills after your main meal of the day, when fat intake is highest, helps maximize absorption. Regular exposure to the sun, even for a short while each day, naturally raises vitamin D levels even more.

In the 1960s, he studied acting at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) after starting his career as a voice actor at the state-run All India Radio. Although he made his Hindi cinema debut in 1967, he gained global recognition for his role as a clumsy jailer in the 1975 film Sholay, which was intended to be a caricature of Adolf Hitler.Earlier this year, Asrani recounted his preparation for the part in an interview with BBC Hindi. He stated that the jailer "thinks he is very smart but isn't," according to the film's director Ramesh Sippy and writer Salim-Javed. In the 1980s hit series Natkhat Narad, he portrayed the Hindu scholar Narad Muni. In addition, he directed a number of Gujarati and Hindi movies. This Diwali, OOH ad sales increase by 20%, while data-driven campaigns increase DOOH share by 24%.
This year's Diwali brilliance extended beyond diyas and fireworks, illuminating billboards, computer screens, and Indian cityscapes. Brands transformed the outdoors into a canvas of color, emotion, and commerce by painting the streets with joyous tales in both Tier-II communities and busy metropolises. The outcome? For the Out-of-Home (OOH) advertising sector in India, this was one of the busiest holiday seasons to date. Due to early holiday planning, daring creative executions, and a swift transition to digital and data-led outdoor solutions, the industry saw impressive double-digit growth as consumer sentiment skyrocketed and advertiser confidence returned in full force. The OOH sector has grown significantly over this holiday season, which is indicative of both the restored vigor in consumer markets and economic optimism. Vaishal Dalal, co-founder of Excellent Publicity, emphasized this momentum and noted that the industry's growth trajectory is still strong. This holiday season, the OOH sector has experienced strong double-digit growth. OOH advertising revenues increased steadily across the country, from ₹4,140 crore in 2023 to ₹4,650 crore in 2024, and are expected to surpass ₹5,200 crore in 2025. The entire OOH ad expenditure increased by more than 15–20% year over year during Diwali, thanks to robust seasonal campaigns in industries including retail, FMCG, consumer durables, automotive, and BFSI."Internal estimates indicate a ~40% YoY increase in Diwali-related OOH bookings at Excellent Publicity, surpassing the industry average," he added. Early festive planning, strong advertiser confidence, and nearly full occupancy across premium billboard sites were credited with this spike.Vikas Nowal, CEO of Interspace Communications, echoed this pattern, stating that the company also experienced a notable Christmas bump. Our OOH company has performed well throughout the Diwali holiday season this year, with a projected 20% increase in sales over the previous year. Higher consumer involvement and greater advertising confidence throughout the festival period are reflected in this uptick," he continued. With companies aiming for both quantifiable engagement and widespread effect, both leaders concur that the OOH medium has become one of the most dependable and prominent options for festive storytelling.

Due to a poisonous mushroom meal, an Australian triple murderer was sentenced to life in prison.
Erin Patterson was found guilty of killing three people and attempting to kill a fourth by poisoning them with dead mushrooms. She was sentenced to life in prison and a conditional 33-year period of non-liberty.The judgment was delivered by Judge Christopher Beale during a direct dissemination from the Supreme Court of Victoria on Monday morning.Following an 11-week trial in July, a court ruled that Patterson, 50, was culpable by the will of Don and Gail Patterson, the parents of his ex-husband Simon Patterson, as well as Simon's sister Heather Wilkinson.. Additionally, the jury found Patterson guilty of attempting to kill Heather's husband, Ian Wilkinson. In July 2023, Patterson received an invitation to a dinner where their servant served wellingtons of beef with enduits of mushrooms. Pasteur Wilkinson expressed his forgiveness to Patterson for attempting to harm the victim by making a statement about the impact on her during a pre-sentencing hearing last month. Both the defense and the prosecution agreed that Patterson should be given a life sentence for her "horrendous" acts, according to Beale. The defense argued that Patterson should be given an opportunity to be released, while the prosecution had demanded that she have no possibility of parole. Colin Mandy SC, Patterson's defense attorney, claimed that Beale should take into account that Patterson's fame put her in difficult circumstances, including spending 22 hours imprisoned in her cell. He claimed that because of her isolation, his client had a far higher "burden of imprisonment" than other inmates. Prosecutor Jane Warren concurred that Beale might take these requirements into account.

After UK and Canada, Australia Plans Recognition of Palestinian State in September
Australia has announced it will officially recognize Palestine as a state during the United Nations General Assembly in September. The decision comes amid ongoing humanitarian concerns in Gaza and follows similar moves by countries like the UK and Canada. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said the recognition is part of a broader effort to support a two-state solution and move toward lasting peace in the region. The recognition is conditional on commitments from the Palestinian Authority, including nonviolence, free elections, and the exclusion of Hamas from any leadership role. Albanese emphasized that this is not a symbolic act but a practical step toward encouraging political resolution and addressing the deepening crisis on the ground. The decision has drawn mixed responses. Some critics argue that recognizing Palestinian statehood without a comprehensive peace deal could increase regional tensions and undermine Israel’s security. Supporters, however, see it as a necessary moral and diplomatic step, urging the government to follow through with meaningful humanitarian and diplomatic efforts. This move marks a shift in Australia’s approach to Middle East policy, reflecting a growing international consensus on the need for renewed momentum toward a peaceful solution. The government has framed the decision as a recognition of the human cost of inaction and an attempt to support dignity and justice for both Palestinians and Israelis.

"Why is everyone trying to....?" A viral post sparks intense controversy as an NRI in Canada claims that India's lifestyle is superior.
For many years, thousands of Indians were drawn to nations like Canada by the promise of a better life overseas, complete with better education, greater wages, and a more pleasant way of life. However, a subtle reversal is in progress. Due to changing ground realities and personal priorities, an increasing number of non-resident Indians (NRIs) are reconsidering the international dream and moving back home. In one such tale, a professional from Canada explained why, only a year after relocating, he is prepared to return to India. The user claimed he no longer sees "big benefits staying in Canada" after moving here with his wife and child last year while on a closed work permit."I entered Canada last year with a closed work permit, accompanied by my spouse and child. While we were both employed in India, we managed to save 30 LPA, or $50,000 CAD. I think India offers a better lifestyle than here, after a year in Canada," he wrote. Please understand that even if we both work, we will still be able to save $100,000 CAD. I can't think of a compelling reason why my friends and coworkers chose to settle here. Canada's advantages Free medical treatment (but he thinks Indian insurance can cover this as well) The only obvious benefit is free schooling. bigger automobiles and residences (which he believes are superfluous) Respect from family members (something he doesn't appreciate) Potential wealth following seven to eight years of a typical 9–5 workdayAdvantages in India The weather is pleasant. Cultural heritage and closeness to family Capacity to look after parents Improved digestion and food Possibility of starting a side business Support from the family when raising childrenHe questioned whether he was passing up a great chance and asked, "Why is everyone trying so hard to settle abroad?" The post elicited a diverse range of reactions. Canada, according to one user, provides a far better work-life balance. "The majority of my Indian friends don't have set job schedules... Traveling abroad is more convenient and you have more financial flexibility when you earn in dollars.

Review of the iPhone 17 Pro Max: The iPhone 17 series and the iPhone Air have generated a surge of interest. It was only after some time that numerous individuals reached out to me for upgrade recommendations during the launch week itself. It’s worth noting that many of these individuals appear to be utilizing the iPhone 13 series and are eager for an upgrade. This is the reason why I examined the iPhone 17 Pro Max mainly through the perspective of an iPhone user who is upgrading after several years. With the iPhone 17 Pro series, Apple has emphasized how simple it is to make a device that turns heads by just experimenting with colors. In years, nothing has generated more excitement about a phone than the cosmic orange. Although silver and deep blue are more conventional colors, the orange draws everyone's attention, whether they love it or love to hate it. What a brilliant marketing success for Apple.

Is it possible for the EU and NATO to impose tariffs on China and India as Trump desires?
In an effort to pressure Russian President Vladimir Putin to halt the war in Ukraine, US President Donald Trump has urged NATO and EU members to impose tariffs of up to 100% on China and India.Trump, who previously pledged to end the conflict on “day one” of becoming president, made his demand during a meeting between United States and European Union officials last Tuesday. The move is seen as a way to try to expedite a peace deal between Moscow and Kyiv.In a letter posted on his Truth Social account on September 13, Trump said he was “ready to do major sanctions on Russia” once NATO had “agreed … to do the same thing”. Protests Over Gaza Spark Clashes in Italy
Protests erupted in several Italian cities as demonstrators took to the streets demanding action and greater solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza. The marches, held in Rome, Milan, and Naples, drew hundreds of people, including students, activists, and members of civil society groups. Many carried signs condemning the ongoing violence in Gaza and called on the Italian government to take a stronger stance. Tensions escalated when police attempted to block parts of the demonstrations. In Rome, clashes broke out near government buildings as officers in riot gear confronted protestors. Videos shared on social media showed scuffles and a few arrests, though no serious injuries were reported. Protesters voiced frustration over what they see as political indifference to the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza. “We are here because silence is not an option,” one demonstrator in Milan said. “People are suffering, and our government can’t keep looking away.” While most gatherings remained peaceful, the confrontations have raised concerns about rising tensions and the space for public dissent. Organizers say they plan to continue demonstrations in the coming weeks.

This Diwali, OOH ad sales increase by 20%, while data-driven campaigns increase DOOH share by 24%.
This year's Diwali brilliance extended beyond diyas and fireworks, illuminating billboards, computer screens, and Indian cityscapes.

Shaheen Afridi Comments on Haris Rauf's Provocative Gestures Toward India
The Super 4 match between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 last Sunday became a struggle that extended beyond just bat and ball on the cricket field. The actions of Pakistan’s Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan elicited a flurry of responses online, as numerous fans and commentators condemned the two for their childish behavior. As Pakistan was gearing up for its last Super 4 Asia Cup match against Bangladesh, fast bowler Shaheen Afridi fielded questions about Rauf and Farhan's gestures during the game.In an interview with journalists on Wednesday, Shaheen acknowledged that the team should not concentrate on on-field celebrations, as their purpose is to play cricket. “Listen, our task is to play cricket. “To be honest, everyone has the right to express themselves as they wish,” Shaheen stated when questioned about the criticism directed at Haris and Sahibzada for their actions against India. Shaheen attempted to minimize the outcry resulting from Pakistan's on-field conduct, stating, "Everyone has their own thoughts." “Each person has their own respect.” Each person believes that their way of thinking is the correct one. However, it is our duty to play cricket. And we have emerged victorious in the tri-nation series. Our goal is to win the Asia Cup. As a team, we are doing our utmost, with God's blessing,” he added. In the current Asia Cup, Pakistan has already experienced two back-to-back losses to India. It is possible for the two teams to meet again in the tournament final on September 28. Although none of the finalists has been confirmed yet, Shaheen expressed confidence in his team's ability to finally defeat India if the two teams meet in the title-decider on Sunday. "They have yet to reach the final. It will be seen when they get to the final. Our purpose in coming here is to win the final and the Asia Cup. We are prepared for any team that arrives. „Wir werden sie besiegen“, sagte er.

As regional tensions rise, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan sign a mutual defense treaty.
In the face of increased regional tensions, Saudi Arabia and nuclear-armed Pakistan have formally inked a mutual defense pact, a step that greatly fortifies a decades-long security cooperation. The improved defense relations coincide with Gulf Arab nations' growing skepticism about the US's capacity to uphold their long-standing security guarantee, which was exacerbated by Israel's attack in Qatar last week. When questioned about the timing of the deal, a senior Saudi official stated, "This agreement is the result of years of discussions." "This is an institutionalization of long-standing and profound cooperation between our two countries, not a reaction to particular nations or events." Arab nations were incensed when Israel attempted to murder Hamas leadership officials in Doha with airstrikes while they were debating a ceasefire proposal that Qatar is mediating. In a complicated region, the agreement on Wednesday may change the strategic equation. In an effort to address long-standing security concerns, Washington's allies, the Gulf monarchs, have worked to stabilize their relations with Israel and Iran. However, the war in Gaza has completely upended the area, and twice in a single year, Israel and Iran have directly attacked the Gulf state of Qatar. Speaking under anonymity, the top Saudi official agreed that relations with India, Pakistan's competitor and another nuclear-armed state, must be balanced."We have a stronger relationship with India than we have ever had. We shall keep strengthening our bond and do everything in our power to promote regional harmony. The official responded, "This is a comprehensive defensive agreement that encompasses all military means," when asked if Pakistan would be required to give Saudi Arabia a nuclear umbrella under the accord. After signing the deal, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the de facto ruler of the kingdom, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif were seen embracing on public television. Field Marshal Asim Munir, the head of Pakistan's army and considered the most powerful individual in the nation, was present."This agreement, which reflects the shared commitment of both nations to enhance their security and to achieving security and peace in the region and the world, aims to develop aspects of defense cooperation between the two countries and strengthen joint deterrence against any aggression," read a statement from the office of the prime minister of Pakistan. "Any aggression against one of the countries will be deemed an aggression against both, according to the agreement."

Beyond the scorecard: How Suryakumar Yadav's handshake snub stung Pakistan
It was petty posturing on the part of the Indian squad to refuse to shake hands with the players from Pakistan following the Asia Cup match. The slight seemed like a cheesy move that sacrificed cricket's spirit for show. It diminished dignity while projecting indignation.India has the option to stand up outside the field, to prioritize civility over showmanship, and to prioritize elegance over petty behavior. India made a poor decision that devalued both sport and statement. The world might have interpreted the BCCI's decision to boycott Pakistan completely as a sign of conscience. Instead, a handshake was weaponized, which confused the message, taxed the participants, and devalued the game.If the BCCI had decided to completely boycott Pakistan, the world There is no denying the background. India was still hurting from the Pahalgam terror assault, and the country needed symbolic support. However, if the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) really wanted to make a statement, they should have done it sooner by refusing to participate or boycotting Pakistan's participation.could have seen it as conscience clarity. Instead, a handshake was weaponized, which confused the message, taxed the participants, and devalued the game. The players' duty should have been straightforward after they decided to challenge the match: compete and then show the sportsmanship that makes sport what it is. That idea is embodied in the handshake. The BCCI blurred boundaries that ought to have been clear by using players to stage the protest. It compelled cricket players to represent the politics of the state, a role they were never intended to play. Administrators making the decision rather than athletes dramatizing it would have been a logical position. Instead, the game's spirit suffered needless harm as a result of a confused gesture that lacked both a strong policy and true solidarity.Even worse, this was not an emotional outburst. It was clearly planned and meticulously orchestrated, according to reports. Both captains avoided the customary pre-match handshake during the toss, which was apparently instructed to Pakistan beforehand by the match referee. Following a decisive seven-wicket victory, the Indian players promptly withdrew from the field to shake hands, closing the changing room doors in the face of bewildered and dismayed Pakistani players who had waited to congratulate them. Salman Ali Agha, the captain of Pakistan, responded by abstaining from the post-match presentation in a quiet protest.Later, Pakistan's management formally complained to the ICC, ACC, and match referee, claiming that the snub was disrespectful to cricket and unsportsmanlike.

Trump posts a photo of Xi, Putin, and the PM together: China has taken Russia and India away from us.
Days after the leaders of the three nations were spotted together at the Shangai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Tianjin, Donald Trump gave a strong indication on Friday that Washington-New Delhi relations had reached a low point when he claimed that the US had "lost" India and Russia to the "darkest" China.Donald Trump's statement that the US has "lost" India and Russia to the "darkest" China on Friday, just days after the leaders of the three nations were spotted together at the Shangai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Tianjin, was a clear indication that relations between Washington and New Delhi had reached a low point.India and Russia appear to have been lost to the darkest, most sinister China. I hope their future together is filled with success and longevity! "President Donald J. Trump," Trump wrote as the description for his Truth Social post, which included a photo of PM Modi at the Tianjin meeting with Putin and Jinping. During a press briefing on Friday, the Ministry of External Affairs declined to comment on Trump's post. "We don't have anything to comment on Trump's post as of now" ."Trump and Modi had a great personal relationship. In an interview with the British broadcaster LBC, Bolton stated, "I think that's gone now, and it's a lesson to everybody." "For example, (UK Prime Minister) Keir Starmer -- a good personal relationship may help at times, but it won’t protect you from the worst" . Pretended to be an oil issue, Jaishankar criticizes US penalties on India for its trade with Russia while stating that talks are still ongoing.
S Jaishankar, the minister of external affairs, criticized the US government for levying more duties on India because of the nation's decision to engage in commerce with Russia. He referred to the action as "unjustified and unreasonable," and he questioned why China, the "biggest importer" of Russian oil, did not receive comparable justifications.Jaishankar made the argument that the tariff issue was being misrepresented as a "oil dispute" during his speech at The Economic Times World Leaders Forum 2025."There are (other) large buyers if oil is the point of contention. "There are bigger traders if the dispute is about who is trading more (with Russia)," he stated. He noted that trade between Russia and Europe is larger than that between India and Russia. The EAM further explained that although trade talks with Washington are still ongoing, New Delhi must defend certain positions. At the ET event, he stated, "We have some redlines in the negotiations, to be maintained and defended." Due to Washington's increased imports of Russian energy, Indian commodities are subject to additional US tariffs of up to 50%, which are among the highest. A 25% tax is already in place, and the remaining 25% will be applied starting on August 27.S Jaishankar, the minister of external affairs, stated on Saturday that US President Donald Trump conducts his foreign policy, particularly trade issues, in a very public manner. The Union minister said that until Trump's announcement, which increased tariffs on India to 50%, there had been no discussion about India purchasing Russian oil. The EAM emphasized during their speech at the Economic Times World Leaders Forum 2025 that Trump often conducts his foreign policy in a more visible manner."The current US president has conducted foreign policy in a more public manner than any previous one. Jaishankar stated, "That in and of itself is a departure that is not limited to India." There has never been a US president that handles internal affairs as openly as Trump, the EAM continued. "President Trump's way of dealing with the world, even dealing with his own country, is a very major departure from the traditional orthodox manner of doing so," he stated. The minister went on to say that Trump's use of tariffs for both trade and non-trade issues is new. The EAM went on to say that the Trump administration frequently makes its initial announcement in public before addressing the relevant party.

Trump Warns Putin Against Derailing Ukraine Talks
Former U.S. President Donald Trump has cautioned Russian leader Vladimir Putin not to stand in the way of a possible peace deal between Ukraine and the West. In a recent interview, Trump said that if Russia tries to block any agreement, there would be “very severe consequences.” He also mentioned that he believes he could help bring both sides to the table quickly if he returns to office. His comments come as the war in Ukraine continues with no clear end in sight. Trump’s tone was firmer than in the past, suggesting he’s now more willing to confront Russia directly. While he didn’t give exact details of what the consequences would be, his message was clear: don’t interfere with efforts to end the conflict. Trump also criticized how the war has been handled so far, saying it could have been avoided altogether. He believes that under his leadership, the situation might never have reached this point, and that now is the time to focus on solutions, not blame. As he campaigns for the 2024 election, Trump is making peace efforts and foreign policy a key part of his message. His warning to Putin seems aimed at showing voters he’s serious about ending the war, but also standing firm when needed.

Strongest Pacific Quake Since 2011 Sparks Tsunami in Russia and Japan
A powerful undersea earthquake struck the Pacific Ocean, triggering tsunami waves that reached the coasts of both Russia and Japan. Measuring over magnitude 8.0, this is the most intense quake recorded in the region since the devastating 2011 Tōhoku earthquake. Authorities in both countries issued immediate tsunami warnings, urging coastal residents to evacuate to higher ground. The regions of Russia closest to the earthquake's epicenter on the Kamchatka Peninsula reported damages and evacuation efforts, but there were no serious injuries. In Japan, waves as high as 1.5 meters were reported along parts of the northeastern coast. While far less destructive than the 2011 disaster, the tremors reignited painful memories among survivors and prompted a swift emergency response. Russia’s Far East, including parts of the Kuril Islands, also experienced moderate flooding. Thankfully, early warning systems and prompt evacuations helped minimize casualties. Transportation services were disrupted, with flights grounded and trains halted as a safety precaution. Local governments have deployed disaster response teams, and damage assessments are currently underway. While no major structural damage has been reported so far, residents remain on alert for aftershocks. This event is a stark reminder of the Pacific Ring of Fire’s volatility. As scientists continue to monitor seismic activity, communities are once again reminded of the importance of preparedness and resilience in the face of natural disasters.

X, the platform owned by Elon Musk, plans to appeal a ruling by the Karnataka High Court regarding a confidential content removal system called ‘Sahyog’.
The Karnataka high court (HC) has reportedly added another layer to the confrontation between Elon Musk’s X and the central government by dismissing the former’s plea for relief from the Centre’s censorship orders. Justice M Nagaprassana dismissed X’s plea, stating that social media cannot function with total freedom, according to a report by LiveLaw The judge expressed the view that, referencing US regulations regarding social media posts, the government’s attempt to regulate speech on the platform cannot be considered illegal.“We will appeal this order to defend free expression,” X said in a post on the platform, in its first statement since the High Court of Karnataka ruled last week that there was no legal merit to the company's legal challenge to quash India's content removal mechanisms.X is deeply concerned by the recent order from the Karnataka court in India, which will allow millions of police officers to issue arbitrary takedown orders through a secretive online portal called the Sahyog. This new regime has no basis in the law, circumvents Section 69A of…"The Sahyog enables officers to order content removal based solely on allegations of “illegality,” without judicial review or due process for the speakers, and threatens platforms with criminal liability for non-compliance," X said on Monday. X owner Elon Musk, a self-described free-speech absolutist, has clashed with authorities in several countries over compliance and content takedown demands, but the company's Indian lawsuit targeted the entire basis for tightened internet regulation in the world's most populous nation, Reuters reported.Earlier on September 24, the Karnataka High Court dismissed X Corp's petition challenging the government's content takedown system under Section 79 of the Information Technology Act. The court emphasised that social media, as a “modern amphitheatre of ideas,” should not be allowed to operate in a state of “anarchic freedom” and must be subject to regulation.

Eric Schmidt, the former CEO of Google, cautions US tech employees: Competing with China may require sacrificing work-life balance.
The ex-CEO of Google has a cautionary message for American tech employees, and it may not be well received by some. During a conference interview published by the All-In podcast, Eric Schmidt, who formerly headed the search engine giant, stated that remote work is not beneficial for US tech companies competing against China’s ruthless work culture.„Schmidt sagte: „Wenn man im Tech-Bereich erfolgreich sein will, muss man einige Kompromisse eingehen.“ “Keep in mind that we are competing against the Chinese; the Chinese work-life balance comprises the 996 model, which entails working from 9 am to 9 pm six days a week. Eric Schmidt, the ex-CEO of Google, has not strongly supported 'work-from-home' arrangements for tech companies. In a recent podcast, Schmidt, who led Google for more than a decade in the early 2000s, reiterated his warning to American tech giants about flexible remote work. This time, the alarm includes a 'China warning' as well.Schmidt expressed his belief that remote work is impeding the ability of US tech companies to compete with China's demanding work culture.
I gave the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold a try… I am now convinced that I don’t need multiple devices
After a month of work-related travel to four major US cities, I returned to India and realized that managing three phones, a laptop, a tablet, a handheld console, and over-ear headphones was no longer feasible for me. It could be overwhelming at times – flying from one city to another, undergoing numerous security checks, and constantly fearing that a device might be left behind. This journey prompted me to reconsider the limits of excess, particularly given that I was going to consecutive tech events in various locations. It seems that I have at last come to understand that juggling several devices is simply not for me. For tech journalists, it is now far more sensible to have a single device, such as the Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Though foldables are not yet mainstream (their high cost keeps them out of reach for most consumers), in my experience, the phone-tablet duo does provide a difference compared to carrying a separate phone and tablet; In addition, the user experience appears to have enhanced. While the Pixel 10 Pro Fold may appear similar to last year’s Pixel 9 Pro Fold that I reviewed, it boasts significant enhancements including a larger battery, a quicker Tensor G5 chip, upgraded cameras, improved displays, water resistance for folding phones, and enhanced integration with Google’s Gemini AI tools. It didn’t take me long to adapt to the folding Pixel 10 Pro Fold, which felt more polished and personal, but switching from my iPhone to the Google phone was still a challenge.

The reason those white patches on your skin may actually be connected to the sun
After a nice beach holiday, you return not only with memories but also with a vacation tan. Indeed, we can all relate! However, have you observed white patches developing on your skin, particularly on your face, following a beach vacation? Whether one has been on a beach holiday or not, they can show up after prolonged sun exposure; these are known as white spots. These sunspots manifest as small, flat white patches, typically appearing on areas exposed to the sun, like the arms, legs, and face. They are generally non-itchy and localized. They simply sit there, leaving you to wonder what their true cause is.This normally occurs when the skin loses pigmentation due to extended exposure to the sun. Everyone knows by now that the sun's UV rays can harm. As a result, in the course of this process, melanocytes (the cells responsible for melanin production) might cease to function in specific regions, resulting in white patches. They can manifest not just on the face, but also on the back and upper arms. Thus, whether it’s a beach vacation or just excessive exposure to the blazing sun, tanning accentuates those patches even further. Thus, whether it’s a beach vacation or just excessive exposure to the blazing sun, tanning accentuates those patches even further. The evident question is: are they truly detrimental? Umm… not so much. “They indicate long-term exposure to the sun but are not a disease and pose no threat. Dr. Ridhima Arora, MD, dermatology at Radix Healthcare, informs India Today that “It’s more cosmetic than medical.”It is certainly sun damage, but it is only at a superficial pigment level. Dr. Arora adds, “They do not elevate the risk of cancer or lead to other skin issues.” Should you freak out then? Not exactly. Is it necessary to pay attention? Certainly. Though not everyone is at risk for its development, farmers, outdoor workers, and those on sunny holidays may have a slightly higher susceptibility to white spots due to their sun exposure. Age may also play a role. Due to the cumulative effects of sun exposure over many years, they are most prevalent after the age of 40. Although younger individuals are not entirely overlooked, they are comparatively at a lower risk. Nevertheless, be careful, all!It is certainly sun damage, but it is only at a superficial pigment level. With over 50 investors reshaping VC playbooks, MoneyX Dialogues makes its debut in Bengaluru.
The inaugural edition of MoneyX Dialogues — Venture Capital Unplugged brought together over 50 investors to discuss the evolving playbooks and sector priorities The fire-side chat featuring V. Vaidyanathan from IDFC FIRST Bank underscored the necessity for venture capitalists and banks to collaborate closely in order to establish a robust financial foundation for startups. With recast playbooks, rebuilt partnerships, and robust value creation in sight, the investing community plans to redefine the rules for VCs.In late August, it was a breezy evening in Bengaluru, and amidst an august gathering of investors, a chortle erupted. It was sufficiently loud to be overheard. Nothing appears more natural than the presence of artificial intelligence in business. Almost as a rule, every pitch deck appears to start with an AI-first approach. The laughter was set off by that. However, it pertained to understanding the truth of the technological era and was definitely not about a rhetoric that dismissed technology. Under the humor, there lay a serious truth: the deployment of capital in India is changing rapidly, and investors are adjusting their playbooks to balance conviction with caution. This was corroborated by a recent Inc42 investor survey, which found that AI was the top choice for both early and growth stage investments. In order to decipher these signals, Inc42 collaborated with IDFC FIRST Bank to organize the inaugural MoneyX Dialogues — Venture Capital Unplugged event, which was supported by Rukam Capital, in Bengaluru on August 21. Over the course of the evening, more than 50 of India’s most astute investment professionals gathered, including early-stage VCs, fund managers focused on emerging and growth stages, HNIs, family offices, and angel investors. The event included a closed-door roundtable discussion with early and growth stage fund managers, high-net-worth individuals, and family offices, moderated by Amit Nawka, a partner at PwC Deals. It also featured a fireside chat with V. Vaidyanathan, the MD and CEO of IDFC FIRST Bank, moderated by Inc42 cofounder and CEO Vaibhav Vardhan. They discussed the evolution of venture capital in India and the strategies that would drive the next wave of startups.

The increasing prevalence of beauty burnout
Are you feeling weary of your skincare routine, as if it has become more of a chore than a treat? It’s possible that you’re going through beauty burnout. Here’s how to reset it and enjoy it once more.Do you not sense that the pursuit of perfection has become unending, having begun as merely fundamental self-care? Most of us started with the fundamental CTM routine: cleansing, toning, and moisturizing. However, as time went on, the beauty industry's unending influx of new products and trends led us to adopt complex rituals involving 8 to 10 steps.Rather than being refreshing, this unending routine has turned into a source of fatigue. What used to be a pleasure in skincare has turned into pressure, and skipping a step now feels like a failure. For many beauty enthusiasts, a calming ritual at the end of the day has turned into just another chore on an already lengthy to-do list, often performed with a sigh or, even worse, a cringe. The outcome? An epidemic of beauty burnout. Indeed, it is authentic. According to Dr. Shireen Furtado, a senior consultant in medical and cosmetic dermatology at Aster CMI Hospital in Bengaluru, in an interview with India Today, beauty burnout occurs when individuals begin to feel fatigued, stressed, or inundated by their beauty and skincare regimens. "Due to the constant emergence of numerous products, treatments, and trends, many people experience pressure to stay abreast of everything." What starts out as self-care can gradually transform into a burdensome responsibility. Rather than feeling relaxed, individuals might experience guilt if they skip a step or fail to purchase the latest item. She adds, "This unrelenting pursuit of beauty can rob self-care of its joy, turning it into a source of stress. What is the reason for it occurring? Dr. Furtado states that beauty burnout is occurring due to individuals attempting to accomplish excessive amounts for the sake of self-care and beauty. With the daily promotion of countless skincare products, makeup trends, and wellness rituals, individuals often feel pressured to adhere to all of them. The doctor believes that social media exacerbates this pressure by showcasing influencers with 'perfect' routines and impeccable results, leading to unrealistic expectations. Many individuals pursue the notion of perfection instead of finding satisfaction in a simple routine. The cosmetics sector promotes the idea of buying and doing more, which can come across as costly and draining. Such ongoing exertion transforms what should be a leisurely pastime into something laborious.
