A recent lifestyle feature has highlighted a special diet and wellness plan created for Prime Minister Narendra Modi by celebrity nutritionist Luke Coutinho and his team. Called the "Shakti Bhojan – The Modi Shakti Thali Experience," the eight-course meal plan is based on traditional Indian, sattvic, and nutrient-rich foods. The idea behind the plan is to provide balanced nutrition, improve digestion, strengthen immunity, and maintain energy levels throughout a demanding work schedule. Rather than focusing on expensive or imported foods, the meal plan celebrates local Indian ingredients such as millets, vegetables, herbs, spices, and fermented foods. According to the nutritionist, the plan reflects PM Modi's preference for simple, wholesome meals and promotes the message that healthy eating can be both traditional and sustainable.
The eight-course menu begins with refreshing welcome drinks like Aam Panna and Pudina Jaljeera with Sabja seeds, which help keep the body hydrated and support digestion. The starter includes Coriander-Paneer Khandvi, while the salad features Raw Papaya Carrot Sambariyo, providing vitamins, fiber, and antioxidants. Side dishes such as Peanut Chutney with Yellow Mustard Seeds and Fresh Turmeric-Ginger Pickle add flavor while offering anti-inflammatory and digestive benefits. The main course consists of healthy traditional dishes including Baingan Ka Bharta, Gavar Nu Shaak, Bajra Rotla with White Butter, Steamed Rice or Jowar-Moong Dal Vegetable Khichdi, and Sattu Kadhi, all designed to deliver protein, fiber, minerals, and slow-release energy. The meal ends with Fada Ni Lapsi made with jaggery as dessert, followed by Jeera Chaas and a traditional Mukhwaas with Homemade Gulkand Paan to aid digestion after the meal. The report also explains that the diet plan is only one part of PM Modi's disciplined lifestyle. He has often spoken about preferring simple homemade food, practicing regular fasting, eating in moderation, and choosing traditional Indian ingredients over processed foods. He has shared that foods such as moringa, millets, nuts, and simple vegetarian dishes are part of his routine. Combined with yoga, meditation, regular physical activity, adequate sleep, and a disciplined daily schedule, these habits help him maintain fitness and energy despite a busy workload. Nutrition experts say that the "Shakti Bhojan" plan is intended not just for the Prime Minister but also as an example of how Indian families can adopt healthier eating habits using locally available foods and traditional recipes.
