Australia Women vs. India Women LIVE Score Updates, First ODI: Australia wins easily thanks to Beth Mooney's elegant 76

At the Allan Border Field in Brisbane on Tuesday, Australia won the first ODI by six wickets with 70 balls remaining. Alyssa Healy also struck a strong half century, making the run chase of 215 appear effortless. While Kashvee Gautam played a beautiful hand further down the order and Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur hit half-centuries, it was difficult for the Indian hitters. Jemimah Rodrigues followed immediately after Pratika Rawal and Shafali Verma fell. Soon after reaching her half-century, Mandhana fell, and India found it difficult to gain pace in the middle overs.India reached 214 all out in 48.3 overs as Harmanpreet and Kashvee's partnership for the eighth wicket helped them surpass 200. While Alana King took only one wicket but was difficult for India's hitters to dismiss, Ash Gardner took three for Australia. In India's opening game following their World Cup victory in November, Harmanpreet Kaur had previously chosen to bat first. India had won the first and third games of the multi-format series, taking a 4-2 lead (in points) after defeating Australia 2-1 in the T20I leg. Before the hosts, headed by a newcomer in Sophie Molineux, responded in the second game in Canberra to tie the series at one, the Harmanpreet-led team won the rain-affected opening Twenty20 International by 21 runs in Sydney. In Adelaide, India defeated Australia by 17 runs thanks to a stylish 82 from Smriti Mandhana.

Suryakumar believes India will win the T20 World Cup.

Suryakumar Yadav, captain of India, thinks his team can quickly recover from their defeat to South Africa and advance to the ICC Men's T20 World Cup knockout stages. India was defeated by the Proteas by 76 runs in Ahmedabad on Sunday, ending a 12-match winning streak. They now have a difficult job to defend the title they famously won in Barbados in 2024. This was India's first defeat of the T20 World Cup.In order to go to the semi-finals, Suryakumar's team will now probably need to win their remaining Super Eight games against Zimbabwe and the West Indies. However, if the Proteas stay undefeated during this round, one victory might be sufficient.Zimbabwe will be India's next opponent in Chennai on Thursday, and Suryakumar doesn't believe his squad needs to make many changes to get back to winning ways. When asked what India needs to perform well for the rest of the competition, a candid Suryakumar responded, "Hopefully, we bat well, bowl well, and field well."That's all. We'll make an effort to keep things easy. I believe we'll return strong if we play the same style of cricket that we want to play and nothing changes."India isn't anticipated to make many changes before their matches against Zimbabwe and the West Indies, but the team is worried about the performance of their top-ranked T20I batsman, Abhishek Sharma, who was dismissed cheaply for just 14 against the Proteas once more. Suryakumar laments the loss of early wickets during the run chase as India faltered in response to South Africa's score of 187/7, and the left-hander was one of three players removed during the Powerplay."If you're chasing 180-185, you can't win the game in the Powerplay, but you might lose the game in the Powerplay," the captain of India thought.

T20 World Cup, India vs. Pakistan: Salman Agha considers the "big picture" following defeat, while Suryakumar dedicates victory to India

Following a humiliating loss in a match that never lived up to its blockbuster billing, India captain Suryakumar Yadav dedicated Sunday's (February 16, 2026) Twenty20 World Cup triumph over Pakistan to supporters nationwide, while his opposite number, Salman Agha, encouraged perspective. As India amassed 175-7 and then went back to bundle out Pakistan for 114 in 18 overs, the much-anticipated showdown between the South Asian neighbors, who engaged in a military crisis that almost erupted into a full-fledged war last year, failed to ignite.Despite the tensions, the game itself went without any flashpoints, but the opposing captains did not shake hands during the toss. When the coin was flipped, Salman and Suryakumar avoided eye contact and appeared solemn. When the India captain addressed at the R. Premadasa Stadium following the game, the atmosphere was very different."This is for the Indian market. With a broad smile, the batter remarked, "We played the same brand of cricket that we wanted to play."Ishan Kishan was praised by Suryakumar for his quick 77, which helped them win.Ishan Kishan batted in the same manner as he did on the domestic circuit and in our prior games. Ishan took charge of the powerplay and had an unconventional idea."India v Pakistan is a special game for us and our country," Kishan said. "This is a crucial game. We attempted to play excellent shots, but they had fantastic spinners. We feel more confident moving further in the competition.

Pakistan Minister Establishes 'Suryakumar Yadav Condition' for Asia Cup Trophy Transfer to India

Pakistan Minister Establishes 'Suryakumar Yadav Condition' for Asia Cup Trophy Transfer to India

In light of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) rejecting requests for a trophy handover ceremony, Asian Cricket Council (ACC) leader Mohsin Naqvi has reportedly introduced a new condition to break the deadlock regarding the Asia Cup 2025. During an ACC meeting on Tuesday, BCCI officials Rajeev Shukla and Ashish Shelar put Naqvi on the defensive by requesting that the trophy be stored in the Asian body's Dubai office for shipping to India.Naqvi, however, demonstrated little to no willingness to comply with the requests from the Indian board. A report by the Pakistani media outlet Geo Super states that Naqvi even opposed the mention of the trophy handover in the meeting, as it was not included in the original agenda. During a virtual meeting, Naqvi informed Rajeev Shukla, "This item was not included in the agenda for the ACC meeting." Naqvi, in response to the BCCI's insistence on the trophy's return, stated: "If the Indian team wants the trophy, the captain can come to the ACC office and collect it from me. "Witnessing Naqvi's lack of cooperation, the BCCI warned the heads of the ACC and PCB that if the trophy is not transferred to the Indian team within a specified timeframe, they will lodge a complaint with the ICC concerning this issue. As PTI reported, a source stated, “It was clarified that the BCCI would lodge a complaint with the ICC, and Shelar made a brief exit from the meeting.” During the tournament, the two teams faced off three times, with India emerging victorious on each occasion, including in the final. During the event, India upheld a 'no-handshake policy' with Pakistani players, which angered the PCB.Following the Pahalgam terror attack, where Pakistan-backed terrorists killed 26 Indian tourists, tensions between the two neighbors have reached unprecedented levels.

First Test On day three, England battle to reach 89/1 at lunch.

England showed semblance of fight to score briskly on a fast-wearing uneven pitch to reach 89 for one at lunch against India on the third day of the first Test in Hyderabad on Saturday. Ben Duckett (38 batting) and Ollie Pope (16 batting) are at crease as the visitors were left to wipe out a massive deficit of 190 runs in their second innings. England still trail by 101 runs.India lost their opening essay after being bowled out for 436. Axar Patel (44), and Ravindra Jadeja (87) were unable to reach their individual century marks as the hosts could only add 15 runs to their 421 for seven overnight.Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley (31) of England, who were faced with a daunting assignment, did not panic and carried out their duties with tenacity. They continued the plan of using sweep and reverse sweeps to counter Indian spinners. To brighten the England camp, Crawley even hit Axar for a six over the sightscreen. The left-arm spinner let up more than seven runs per over throughout this time, while Ashwin scored more than five. However, India did not have to wait long for the initial success. Ashwin bowled around the wicket, creating a gap across Crawley, whose defensive prod resulted in an easy catch for Rohit Sharma at first slip.Previously, when play resumed in the morning, India's first innings did not last very long, finishing in 54 minutes. Jadeja lost leg before Joe Root and failed to get the much anticipated fourth Test hundred. When Jadeja moved to the front foot to stop an off-stump length delivery, the ball turned quite a little before hitting his pads. Umpire Chris Gaffaney chose to examine the call, and he raised his finger. Although there appeared to be a bat deflection, the replays were unable to provide a clear picture, therefore the third umpire decided to follow the on-field umpire's judgment.Indian innings came to an abrupt end as they lost the final three wickets without scoring any more runs. Root castled Jasprit Bumrah in the very next ball, while Rehan Ahmed thoroughly cleaned out Axar.

KIYG 2023: Durga Singh, the daughter of a Bihar farmer, breaks records with a 1500-meter gold run.

When Durga Singh was a young girl, she was a sports enthusiast and used to run in the large open areas surrounding the fields in her isolated village of Belwa Thakurai in the Gopalganj district of Bihar. The only person who supported Durga in a community with little history of sports was her wheat farmer father Shambhu Sharan Singh. "I've encountered numerous difficulties. With the exception of my father, who would always tell me to "go wherever you want to, do whatever you want to," no one in my family was particularly athletic. Only he supported me, which is why I am here," an elated Durga said after shattering the 1500m Games record with a timing of 4 minutes 29.22 seconds at the 6th Khelo India Youth Games in Chennai on.At the 38th Junior National Athletics Championship in Coimbatore last year, the Class X student won the gold medal in the 1500 meters with a time of 4 minutes, 38.29 seconds. As a young girl, Durga, the fourth of five siblings, played football and kabaddi, but her idols were runners. She had printed and framed photos of PT Usha and Usain Bolt in her room because she was such a fan of them. Early on, at least at her school, her talent was recognized. "I would go to matches with senior students. People would battle for my inclusion on their team.In local meets, medals would come in large quantities. However, she was unaware of their worth at the moment. "I would take home the medal, throw it aside, and place first or second. Since no one at home appreciated my accomplishments back then, I wouldn't give it much thought. When relatives returned home, they would be shocked to see the medals just lying around." The 17-year-old's talent began to be recognized more and more over time. She went to train under coach Rakesh Singh at the Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna, and she hasn't looked back since. After that, her perspective on medals also shifted.   "I then realized the reputation winning medals can help you establish for yourself. I grew more

Explained: Rule That Made the Umpire Take One Run Off of Englands First Test Total Against India

A big confusion unfolded on Day 1 of the first Test between India and England in Hyderabad after Rehan Ahmed saw a run's deduction to his tally. The England batter, despite running a double before the overthrow from an Indian fielder, saw only 5 runs being awarded instead of 6, leaving fans in the stadium and on social media confused. However, the decision was correct because of the rule that the International Cricket Council (ICC) has for such scenarios.  Rehan flicked a full toss on the pads from India's Jasprit Bumrah behind square to the on-side. The fielder's wide throw beat the backup fielder and traveled directly to the boundary.    Rehan was given six runs at first, but the umpire changed his mind and declared that only five runs would be awarded because neither batter had crossed the other before the throw left the fielder's hand.Following a similar incident in the 2019 ODI World Cup final between England and New Zealand, the rule was given careful consideration. In that case, despite the fact that the two batters had not crossed each other, England were awarded 6 runs rather than 5.   What is stated in the rule? MCC rule 19.8 is relevant in this situation. The 40-year-old mans body is maintained by this 93-year-old man. Understand His Secret

The ninety-three-year-old Irishman Richard Morgan is changing the definition of aging gracefully. He only started rowing in his 70s, but since then, he has won four indoor rowing championships and continues to astound scientists with his youthful body and heart. Because of his incredible journey toward fitness, Mr. Morgan is the focus of a ground-breaking study on healthy aging. His 80% muscle mass and heart function, which are similar to those of a forty-year-old, have researchers stumped. This ageless oarsman is an inspiration to us all, proving that it's never too late to embrace an active lifestyle and reap the rewards of physical fitness.   The analysis looked at his diet, training regimen, and general health and was published in the Journal of Applied Physiology last month. The physiological, performance, dietary, and training characteristics of Mr. Morgan were evaluated in this study. Bioelectrical impedance was used to determine body composition. Heart rate, respiration, oxygen uptake, and carbon dioxide production were monitored both during a rest period and a 2,000-meter time trial on a rowing ergometer.   The former baker told the Irish Examiner that he had never played sports before he began regular exercise at the age of 73.   Regarding his workout regimen, Morgan told the Washington Post, "I started from nowhere." A few days later he "suddenly realized there was a lot of pleasure in doing this."According to the research, maintaining a regular fitness regimen can help prevent the effects of aging, even though it won't turn back time.   The four main components of Mr. Morgan's fitness regimen are weight training, varied training, consistency, and a high-protein diet.

China is on the verge of a shocking Asian Cup exit, while Tajikistan is making history

China is on the verge of a shocking Asian Cup exit, while Tajikistan is making history

Let the accusations start now. China did not find the back of the net in any of their three group stage Asian Cup matches for the first time ever. Aleksandar Jankovic's side have no one else to hold accountable but themselves for their 1-0 defeat to Qatar, who had already secured their spot in the last 16 as group winners and named a second-string team on Monday night. China is currently dealing with the fallout from yet another extremely depressing campaign as a result of this most recent setback. After China's better performance in last week's draw with Lebanon, there was a moment of optimism that was quickly dashed by reflection.Jankovic and his crestfallen players now face the harsh reality of a potential humiliating early exit, a scenario that they could never have imagined, even in their darkest nightmares. The weight of disappointment was palpable as Wei Shihao and Wu Lei stood before the media, bearing the burden of their team's underwhelming performance.     Wei in particular appeared to be in complete shock, his feelings almost overflowing. We had scoring opportunities, which is very disappointing that we did not take advantage of. All of the teams have improved, but we appear to be in the same spot. It's quite depressing. Although the fans made a great effort to come see us play, we really didn't perform well." Wu added, "We clearly need to reevaluate our attacking strategies after not scoring a single goal in three games. We also need to work on our coordination, tactics, and general technique. Asia's teams are getting closer to one another, and even the so-called weaker teams have improved greatly in a number of areas. We have to talk about this subject.Beyond the intense spotlight, it is difficult to avoid the feeling that many Chinese players would prefer to go home than face the uncertainty of waiting in Qatar to find out their fate. Jankovic now has to cling to the slim chance that China's two points will be enough to guarantee a spot in the round of sixteen as one of the top four third-place teams. According to the rules, in the event of teams finishing level on points within their groups, the first tiebreaker will be their head-to-head record, followed by goal difference, goals scored, fair play points, and, as a last resort, the drawing of lots. These same criteria will be used to rank the six third-placed finishers from all   Hence, the only possible path for China to advance to the knockout stages is if two conditions are simultaneously met: first, India must draw 0-0 with Syria in their final group match, and a Syrian player must receive at least one yellow card; second, Hong Kong, China need to secure a draw against Palestine.     "You have to accept this fate as a coach. If you constantly dwell on this issue, it will impede your progress. Fear of losing your job is not a quality that befits a coach. All I can do is give it my all and strive for better performances from the team in the future."

'Oldest World No. 1' Rohan Bopanna Makes History, Enters Australian Open Semis With Matthew Ebden

India star Rohan Bopanna made Grand Slam history as he progressed to the semi-finals of the Australian Open 2024 men's doubles event. Bopanna and his partner Matthew Ebden reached the semi-finals with a straight-sets win against the Argentine pair of Maximo Gonzalez and Andres Molteni on Wednesday. Courtesy of the quarter-final win in the Australian Open, Bopanna will become the No. 1 men's doubles player in the world, at the age of 43. When the rankings are updated, he will become the oldest player in the sport's history to clinch the numero uno spot. Less than a year ago, when he and his partner Ebden lost the US Open 2023 final, Bopanna became the oldest man to qualify for a grand slam final in the Open era. It had been more than 20 years since Bopanna's debut.Bopanna ranked No. 3 going into the Australian Open, which was a career-high. With his run to the semi-finals of the first Grand Slam of the year, the seasoned Indian is sure to take the top spot when the rankings are revised the following week. Mathew Ebden, his men's doubles partner, is certain to hold the No. 2 ranking in the rankings.Bopanna made it into the Australian Open semifinals for the first time in her previous 17 tries. In the semi-finals, the second-seeded Indo-Australian duo will square off against the unseeded Tomas Machac and Zhizhen Zhang. Prior to this, in October 2022, at the age of 38, American player Rajeev Ram became the oldest player to hold the top spot in the world rankings. Bopanna, who debuted at world No. 3 in 2013, is the fourth Indian player to hold the top spot in the world rankings for doubles, following Leander Paes, Mahesh Bhupathi, and Sania Mirza.   Austin Krajicek of the USA, who lost in the second round with partner Ivan Dodig of Croatia, will relinquish his top spot to him.Bopanna and Gabriela Dabrowski of Canada won the mixed doubles title at the 2017 French Open. He has, however, yet to win a title in men's doubles; in the US Open, he placed second twice, in 2010 alongside Pakistan's Aisam-ul-Haq Quresh and in 2023 alongside Ebden. Bopanna actually became the oldest Grand Slam finalist ever last year when he accomplished this at the US Open.   You can only listen to the newest music on JioSaavn.com.   In addition, Bopanna is the oldest player to win a Masters 1000 men's doubles championship. Together with Ebden, he accomplished the remarkable feat of winning the coveted Indian Wells tournament last year at the age of 43.

Denied Foreign Leagues NOCs Pakistani athletes considering leaving the national team

The current PCB policy, which was finalized under Zaka Ashraf's leadership, permits centrally contracted players to participate in two overseas T20 competitions in addition to the PSL.Following their refusal of NoCs to play in overseas T20 tournaments, a few of Pakistan's best cricket players are considering ending their core contracts with the board. The majority of the centrally contracted players, according to sources in the club management, are angry with the board for denying them permission to play in foreign competitions even though they are not bound by any national service obligations. "The matter has come to a head because recently the board refused NOCs to some players including Zaman Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Muhammad Haris (all centrally contracted) to play in the Bangladesh Premier League on the grounds that they had already played two leagues besides the Pakistan Super League," according to a source. He claimed that centrally contracted players would be permitted to participate in two overseas T20 competitions in addition to the PSL, per the existing PCB regulation that was finalized under Zaka Ashraf's leadership."But for the players who are not centrally contracted there is no such binding unless they are required on national duty." But when it comes to giving NOCs, the majority of contractual players think the board is acting in accordance with a contradictory policy that is determined by whims and fancies."The players feel that when there is no Pakistan assignment before the PSL why should the board stop them from playing in other leagues where they have good contracts," a another insider stated."The players' grouse is that the PCB does not even pay them anything to cover the losses of contracts not accepted because of PCB policies." There may be additional earning opportunities for players because of the proliferation of profitable T20 leagues in the cricket globe. Currently, three leagues—the BPL, the International Emirates League in the United Arab Emirates, and the South Africa 20 League—are staged concurrently.According to a board official, players who adhere to league caps will receive compensation. This is because, under the terms of their central contracts, players receive a substantial monthly payment from the board regardless of whether they play or not."The top category players are getting paid around 6 million rupees salary, those in category B get around 4.8 million so why are they complaining," asked a source. However, an agent for one of the players said that the board withheld high taxes from their pay and that elite players were receiving offers to earn anywhere from $100,000 to $300,000 for participating in five or more league games. "Are you aware of Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi's contract values for the BPL and ILT? All that needs to be said is that one of them has a contract worth USD 300,000, or between 75 and 80 million rupees." He added that players who lacked financial resources relied heavily on the leagues as a source of income."I think when the new Chairman takes over there will be proper discussions between the players and board to resolve this NOCs issue."

Rahul Dravid on Indias strategy against England

Rahul Dravid on Indias strategy against England

India would design their strategies based on the scenarios that the contest presents to them in the rubber match, according to Rahul Dravid.Head coach Rahul Dravid stated that although he did not witness Indian batsmen responding in kind to England's "Bazball," they would not be regressing in the five-match Test series that starts here on Thursday. According to Dravid, India will design their strategies based on the scenarios that arise during the match. We're not going to try to be extremely aggressive, in my opinion. I believe that we try to play the cards that are dealt to us and the circumstances warrant. However, if you look at our top six-seven batsmen, you'll see that many of them are aggressive players who approach the game with a good attitude. Thus, they won't be attempting to alter that in any specific manner. There will be a variety of scenarios where we might have to bat for extended stretches of time or try to advance the game.In a Tuesday conversation, Dravid stated, "But I can't see any of my batsmen taking a backward step or looking to be defensive."Nonetheless, Dravid was confident that England would challenge the hosts fiercely in the series, and the head coach believed his squad would rise to the occasion by drawing on their prior experience playing in similar conditions."Watching them perform has been thrilling, and you can tell that they've had success doing it. They've achieved success in Pakistan. They had triumphed in New Zealand and had an incredible series in the Ashes against Australia. We must thus honor that. However, we are aware that they will have difficulties in these circumstances because we are familiar with them. Our attack is well-versed in our vast experience. Knowing that we'll be under pressure, I'm interested to watch how our boys react," Dravid added.Dravid also described the five-match series as an excellent opportunity for Indian players, both veteran and developing, to leave some outstanding legacy, given that India is scheduled to play a few more Tests in the current World Test Championship (WTC) cycle in the following months."I think it's important to let people play the manner they feel most comfortable. Their evaluation will be based on the outcomes they generate. They must, then, figure out how to play and get beyond it. However, they do have some positive experience."People such as Rohit have been in the game for a long time; Jaddu (Jadeja) and Ash (Ashwin) have been in the game for over ten years. KL (Rahul) has also been in the game for a long. "There is a lot of Test cricket (for us) over the next 12 to 18 months, so it's a really good opportunity for them to set some good markers over the course of the next five games." "After getting a taste of international cricket, it's a great chance for some of these young players to advance. I'm curious to follow their progress," he said.Due to personal reasons, star batsman Virat Kohli will miss the opening two Test matches against England. Although the squad would miss Kohli's presence and experience, Dravid stated that his absence presents an opportunity for another player to rise up and establish themselves. The fact that India will be playing a five-match Test series following a significant break thrilled the former skipper of India as well. India's most recent five-match series, which was played in a dispersed manner due to Covid fears, was against the same opponent during the pandemic era. "We are eagerly anticipating this. Because England's Test series is one of the most watched in the world, it's always exciting when they play. After a long break, there should be five excellent Test matches. "Both teams are likely to trade a lot of punches. I sincerely hope that you understand that we can get off to a quick start and perhaps hit a few balls early on," he said.

After Virat Kohli withdrew from the first two Test matches against England, Kevin Pietersen expressed his support for the player.

After Virat Kohli withdrew from the first two Test matches against England, Kevin Pietersen expressed his support for the player.

India has won two of their last four matches and have a PCT (Points Percentage System) of 54.16, placing them second in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023–25 points standings. Australia is at the top.Following Virat Kohli's decision to withdraw from the first two Tests of the five-match series against England, which begins on January 25 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad, the former captain of England, Kevin Pietersen, has spoken out in favour of the cricket player.Pietersen expressed his support for Virat on the social media site "X," which was once Twitter, and asked others to "respect" the decision. "Respect it if a sportsmen withdraws for personal reasons! "End of!" Pietersen contributed to X. For the uninitiated, Virat asked to be removed from the first two Test matches against England by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), alleging personal concerns, and the board granted his request. "Virat has communicated with Captain Rohit Sharma, the team management, and the selectors, emphasizing that although serving his nation has always come first, there are personal matters that require his full attention. "The BCCI respects his decision and the Board and team management has extended its support to the star batter and is confident in the abilities of the remaining squad members to step up and deliver commendable performances in the Test series," a press release issued by the BCCI stated. The nation's premier cricket organization also asked supporters to "support the Indian cricket team as they embark on the upcoming challenges in the Test series" and "respect Virat Kohli's privacy during this time and refrain from speculating on the nature of his personal reasons."

India Wants To Win Against Syria To Maintain Hopes For Asian Cup Knockouts

India Wants To Win Against Syria To Maintain Hopes For Asian Cup Knockouts

After losing their first two group matches, India is without a win and seems hopeless. To survive in the AFC Asian Cup football tournament in Al Khor, Qatar on Tuesday, they simply need to win against a formidable Syria. India's incapacity to compete fiercely with the best teams on the continent was exposed by losses of 0-2 and 0-3 to Australia and Uzbekistan, but a victory over Syria could restore some pride to the Sunil Chhetri-led team. Syria is currently ranked 91st in the FIFA rankings, 11 spots higher than India (102nd), but the team led by Igor Stimac has won the Nehru Cup tournament in 2007, 2009, and 2012, so a win is not out of the question. When the teams last faced off, it resulted in a 1-1 draw in Ahmedabad during the 2019 Intercontinental Cup, with Stimac leading the Indian team at the time.   If India defeats Syria at Al Bayt Stadium, they will finish third in Group B, but even that won't guarantee them a spot in the round of 16.   It may be difficult for India to be one of the four third-place teams out of six to advance to the knockout stage with a goal difference of minus five after two matches—the deciding factor if teams are tied on points.Even if India defeats Syria on Tuesday, they will still have to wait until Thursday for the results of the final group matches (Group E and F). India chose to play extremely defensively against the powerful Australians, who have long been FIFA World Cup regulars. However, they attempted to express themselves a little in the match against Uzbekistan, and this, along with some costly defender errors, prevented them from mounting a strong defense.   It's not like India was never given a chance to play Uzbekistan. They did manage to get at least three, Rahul KP's shot hitting the crosspiece among them. With nothing to lose from the match, Stimac may be tempted to go all out for a win against India but he could be wary of any mistake from his players, like the one committed by Rahul Bheke, which led to Uzbekistan's second goal in the 18th minute.   There's never a convenient time to give up goals at this level. Stimac declared, "A side like Uzbekistan will kill you if you give them time and space."   "We need to work on ourselves, close these gaps in our game, and look forward to winning the crucial matches that lie ahead of us.

Assam govt threatening people not to join Cong yatra, says Rahul Gandhi

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday alleged that Assam's BJP-led government has been threatening people against joining the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, and refusing permissions for programmes along its route.People, however, are not afraid of the BJP, Gandhi asserted at a public gathering in Biswanath Chariali, the headquarters of Biswanath district. He also said the Congress will win by a huge margin against the BJP in the upcoming elections."We don't make long speeches as part of the yatra. We travel every day for 7-8 hours, talk to delegations, meet people and listen to their issues. And then, we fight for your issues; that is the aim of this yatra."When elections come, Congress will defeat BJP by massive margins," Gandhi asserted, urging party workers to march forward despite being threatened, and beaten up, as the fight is for the people. The yatra is in its fourth day in the state, having re-entered after a night halt in Arunachal Pradesh. It is scheduled to travel through Assam till January 25, covering a total of 833 km across 17 districts.Gandhi also alleged that flags and banners of the Congress are being damaged in the state."They (government) think they can threaten the people and suppress them. But, they are not realising this is not Rahul Gandhi's yatra. It is a yatra for the voice of the people," he said."Neither Rahul Gandhi nor people of the state are afraid of them," the former Congress chief said.He continued to target Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, terming him as the most corrupt CM in the country."Everyone knows that the CM and his entire family are the most corrupt. The Assam government is run for the benefit of one family... the Congress MP alleged. He said that injustice was being done to farmers, who don't get the price for their produce, youths who don't find jobs after finishing studies and traders who bore the brunt of demonetisation and GST.

Mohammed Shami, an injured player, will travel to London; it will take him an additional month to return

Mohammed Shami, the injured pacer, is reportedly allowed to go to London. Shami hasn't played since the World Cup in 2023.Mohammed Shami, the fast bowler for India, is convalescing from an ankle injury he fought through to lead his team's bowling assault during the ICC World Cup. He is expected to see a specialist in London. The great pacer has stayed out of action following India's 2023 One Day International (ODI) World Cup runners-up finish. Shami was the top wicket-taker of the ICC competition at the end of the 2023 World Cup. Pacer Shami, who hasn't played since November, was hoping to make a return during the Test series against England.Shami stated that his recuperation is proceeding according to plan, and the National Cricket Academy's (NCA) medical staff was pleased with the 2023 World Cup hero's development. After missing the South Africa series, Shami resumed his training sessions with the intention of rejoining the Indian team for the England series. Shami, however, was not selected for the five-match Test series because he was unable to recuperate in time. Cricbuzz reported that they have information that Shami can travel to London in the near future. The head of NCA's sports science section, Nitin Patel, is probably going to be with the senior pacer. The report states that Shami and Patel collaborated at NCA to treat the pacer's ankle problem. Premier batter Suryakumar Yadav had a groin operation in Germany earlier.According to the report, Rishabh Pant may soon be sent to London by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Pant, a batsman and wicketkeeper, wants to return to the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2024. It will take Prithvi Shaw, an Indian opener, at least another month to make a comeback to competitive cricket. His comeback is contingent upon passing more difficult agility routines and acceleration tests. Before being cleared to return to competitive cricket, the Indian opener would need to play in a few matches. At NCA, Shaw is also receiving treatment. It is also the Mumbai Cricket Association's (MCA) hope that Shaw makes himself available for the Ranji Trophy knockout stages. Shaw may also aim for an IPL comeback. Delhi Capitals (DC) have already decided to hold onto the Indian opener for the 2024 IPL. Shaw's knee injury from the previous year kept him out of the domestic season for the most part. During Northamptonshire's one-day championship match against Durham, the Indian opener hurt his knee.
