On Saturday, January 13, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Karnataka defeated Gujarat on Day 2 of the Ranji Trophy 2024 Group C match. The captain, Mayank Agarwal, led from the front with 109 off 124 balls. Karnataka reached stumps on Day 2 on 328/5 after Agarwal hit 17 fours and a six in his knock, replying to Gujarat's first innings tally of 264.In his first first-class match in six years, renowned Indian bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar was impressive at Green Park in Kanpur. On the first day of the Ranji Trophy 2024 Group B match against Bengal, he took five wickets for Uttar Pradesh and concluded with career-best scores of 8/41. Bengal were dismissed for 188 after UP had amassed 60 wickets.

Uttar Pradesh was down 46/0 at the end of their second innings by day's end.Day 2 of the Group D match saw Odisha defeat Madhya Pradesh at 493/8 thanks to an unbeaten 277 off 483 balls by Subhranshu Senapati. Senapati may try to get a triple hundred on Day 3 after hitting 19 fours and 11 sixes in his knock thus far.The Ranji Trophy 2023–24 saw some amazing results in its thrilling first round last week; however, the second round produced some amazing comebacks and performances.

Hyderabad, Baroda, Gujarat, Mumbai, and Vidarbha have emerged as the top four states in the points standings among several categories. Surprisingly, neither Delhi nor Tamil Nadu have won any games yet this season.Karnataka vs. Gujarat: Gujarat handily defeat Karnataka by 6 runs. It's reasonable to state that Karnataka shocked even themselves by failing to score 109 in the fourth innings after scoring 50 runs in the first two innings. At the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Karnataka chose to bowl first, and courtesy to a 157-run partnership between Kshitji Patel (95) and Umang Kumar (72), they were able to dismiss Gujarat for 264.With Mayank Agarwal's century (109) the tourists had a commanding 110-run advantage. Umang Kumar (57) and Manan Hingrajia (56), both with fifties, helped the home team reach 219 in the second innings. Karnataka appeared to be coasting through the 109-run chase, but Siddharth Desai's left-arm spin destroyed the middle order with figures of 7/42, giving Karnataka a 6-run victory.
