EC requires pre-certification on all platforms and tightens regulations on digital ads ahead of state elections.
With the announcement of the Assembly election schedule for Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Puducherry, as well as by-elections in six states, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has implemented a more comprehensive regulatory framework to control political advertising, emphasizing digital platforms, transparency, and the control of misinformation.A pre-certification requirement for all political advertisements in electronic and online media is at the heart of the directive. The action is a reflection of the Commission's effort to stay up with the quickly changing political landscape, where voter perception is now significantly shaped by social media amplification and digital outreach. Before distributing commercials, all political parties, candidates, and affiliated organizations must first receive approval from the Media Certification and Monitoring Committees (MCMCs), according to the new regulations. This holds true for a variety of digital channels, such as social media platforms, e-papers, bulk SMS, voice messaging, and public audio-visual displays, in addition to more conventional electronic media like radio and television. While recognized political parties can apply for certification through state-level committees, candidates and individuals must apply to district-level MCMCs. To examine disputed rulings, an appeals process has also been established, with each state's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) serving as its head. The Commission has effectively extended regulatory authority deep into the digital ecosystem by making it plain that no political advertisement may be published or distributed on internet-based platforms without prior approval. In addition to certification, MCMCs have been assigned to monitor suspected "paid news" situations more closely, which has long been a problem in Indian elections. When content is discovered to be promotional but presented as editorial, the committees are supposed to keep a careful eye on media outputs and take appropriate action. Candidates are now required to disclose all official social media accounts in their nomination papers as part of a concurrent push for transparency. In online campaigning, where unofficial or proxy accounts have frequently been used to reinforce narratives without credit, this rule aims to ensure traceability and responsibility.

IPL 2026 Cultural Toolkit for Brands Folk Frequency Releases
BARC India and Nielsen have jointly announced the launch of BARC | Nielsen ONE Ads, a first-of-its-kind cross-media advertising measurement solution that combines digital and linear television data into a single, unified framework, marking a significant milestone for the Indian advertising sector. The absence of a unified, single-source view of campaign effectiveness across screens is a persistent problem in the advertising ecosystem that the new approach seeks to solve. In order to maximize media spending, marketers and agencies need more integrated measuring solutions as media consumption continues to split across platforms and devices.BARC | Nielsen ONE Ads integrates Nielsen ONE Ads' digital measuring capabilities with BARC's linear television viewership statistics. Advertisers can assess actual campaign reach and frequency across the whole media landscape thanks to the platform's deduplicated view of audiences across various screens, including Linear TV, Connected TV (CTV), Mobile, and Computer/Desktop. JioHotstar will be the first platform to use the framework, starting with the ICC Men's T20 World Cup India & Sri Lanka 2026. The partnership is a major step toward measuring premium internet and television content across platforms. Further industry-wide cross-screen coverage may be possible in the future with further involvement from other broadcasters.

How CTV can prevent repeating the ad errors of linear TV for living room monetization
Connected TV live sports are about to enter a crucial period of recalibration. The medium is plagued by an old broadcast reflex: more advertisements equal more money, despite its promises of scale, accuracy, and living-room supremacy. A fundamental concern for the ecosystem is raised by the growing need to profit from every stop as live matches draw enormous concurrent audiences. To what extent can ad loads be increased before fandom becomes transactional and viewer immersion breaks down? Tolerance is a delicate currency in an environment where control and choice are paramount. This unique research explores what sustainability actually means during live sports by bringing together voices from the CTV, ad-tech, platform, and agency sectors. Beyond simple inventory counts, topics like experience design, temporal intelligence, creative ecosystems, and attention economics are covered. The emphasis is on creating a model where monetization does not come at the expense of loyalty, taking into account factors like the unpredictable nature of live broadcasts and the potential to increase interaction after the final whistle. The fundamental conflict is obvious: how well the ecosystem learns to use the screen, rather than how much advertising it can accommodate, will determine the direction of CTV sports in the future.

Lekin, I never believed in oiling before.Behind her shiny hair, Chitrangada Singh reveals a secret combination.
On the podcast Let's Talk for Namitaa, Chitrangada Singh recently talked about her hair care regimen and credited oiling for improving the quality of her hair. "I never used to believe in oiling, lekin bahut farak padta, oiling is very, very important," she said. The quality of your hair has improved since I started using rosemary, pepper mint, almond oil, and teen cheezon ko mix karke mujhe diya hai kisni.IndianExpress.com contacted Dr. Bhawuk Dhir, Consultant Dermatology, PSRI Hospital, to verify the actor's claim. He concurred that oiling has advantages, "but with realistic expectations."According to Dr. Dhir, "regular hair oiling can be scientifically effective, but its impact varies from person to person." He explains that oils don't directly promote the growth of new hair by activating biological growth pathways. The main functions of oils are as protecting and emollients. They protect the hair shaft from friction and environmental harm, prevent breakage, lessen dryness, and seal in moisture," he says. During oil application, a light scalp massage may also promote improved blood circulation. Dr. Dhir continues, "The evidence is stronger for improved texture and reduced damage rather than dramatic hair growth, even though this creates a healthier scalp environment."

What is the reason behind Punjab Governor Kataria's abrupt praise of the Bhagwant Mann government in contrast to cooperation
The Punjab Assembly's budget session began earlier this week when Governor Gulab Chand Kataria gave a speech that mainly commended the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government's performance, despite opposition protests interfering with Assembly business and the governor's own anti-drug march weeks prior continuing to garner political attention. In sharp contrast to his predecessor, Banwarilal Purohit, who had multiple run-ins with the Punjab government, Kataria praises the initiatives of the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government. The government drafts the governor's address, which summarizes their accomplishments.Governors Thaawar Chand Gehlot and R N Ravi, who has since been named governor of West Bengal, have recently omitted portions of their speeches that commended the state governments in states like Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, where the governors are perceived to have a tumultuous relationship with the state government.Mann's AAP government and Purohit had a number of issues between 2022 and 2024. One such disagreement occurred in early 2023 when the Governor first refused to approve the Budget session, which forced the state government to petition the Supreme Court. However, Kataria's 51-page speech on March 6 detailed the state government's efforts in a number of areas, including welfare programs, infrastructure development, healthcare, education, and anti-drug campaigns. The extension of Aam Aadmi Clinics throughout the state was one of the efforts that were emphasized. According to the governor, hundreds of clinics are currently in operation and have given locals crores of free consultations and medications. The speech also mentioned the government's "Yudh Nashean Virudh" anti-drug program, which includes outpatient opioid-assisted treatment clinics and de-addiction centers for drug addicts' rehabilitation. In order to improve government education, Kataria mentioned hiring thousands of instructors and creating Schools of Eminence. The address also mentioned road infrastructure upgrades, irrigation facilities, 300 units of free power for the majority of homes, and farmer welfare programs including increased sugarcane prices.Leader of the Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa and other Congress lawmakers frequently interrupted the speech by shouting slogans about things like law and order. Assuring the lawmakers that they could voice their objections during the discussion later, Kataria pleaded with them to let him finish the constitutional address first. Congress MLAs eventually organized a walkout as the protests persisted. Following the speech, the Governor spoke at a joint press conference with Mann, praising the Punjab government's efforts to combat drug misuse and enhance education. According to him, the Opposition ought to have let the speech end before voicing its opinions in the House so that their complaints could be legally documented.

Unauthorized reviews, dubious log-ins, and fuzzy documents: TMC MP to Supreme Court on SIR
TMC MP Dola Sen told the Supreme Court that Election Commission-appointed micro-observers were allegedly overriding decisions made by Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), the statutory authority for including and deleting electors, raising concerns that eligible voters could be removed from the final electoral roll during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in West Bengal. In two applications filed on February 16 and 18, Sen, a petitioner before the Supreme Court contesting the SIR, also claimed that documents uploaded to the system were becoming "blurry" after submission and that officials were allegedly logging into the ECINET portal from locations other than where they were deputed. On February 28, West Bengal's final electoral roll is expected to be released. The Indian Express asked the EC for comment on Sen's claims, but the EC did not reply. The EC only deployed micro-observers in West Bengal, which was a first, despite announcing the SIR in nine states and three Union Territories on October 27 of last year. The EC informed the Supreme Court on February 4 that the purpose of the 8,100 micro-observers, who work for the Central Government, was to support EROs and Assistant EROs (AEROs). The EC had stated, "It is false to suggest that statutory powers have been vested in the micro-observers."

Don't you feel guilty about selling Bharat Mata Rahul Gandhi criticizes the US accord and the Center
Speaking in the Lok Sabha following days of deadlock, Rahul Gandhi criticized the Central government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for the recently concluded trade agreement with the United States, saying the administration should be embarrassed of it. In a vicious attack, Gandhi said that the Center "sold India" and that the government was endangering farmers' livelihoods by permitting US goods to enter."India is no longer yours. Do you not feel guilty for selling India? In reference to the trade deal, he declared, "You have sold our mother, Bharat Mata." He added that it was a "wholesale surrender" in which the interests of farmers were jeopardized and India's energy security was given to America. Gandhi went on to say that Donald Trump would have been advised to treat India equally if an INDIA Bloc administration had negotiated the trade deal with the US."This is total capitulation. The fact that it is a capitulation by more than simply the prime minister makes it tragic. He has given up the 1.5 billion Indians' future. Gandhi claimed that he had given up the future in order to save the BJP's financial structure, which is the subject of a case in the US.Gandhi claimed that the farmers' interests had been compromised and that they were facing a "storm" as American agricultural products flooded Indian markets. Additionally, he claimed that the Indian textile sector is "finished."We are about to enter a period of unrest, and the country has been sold. The country is sold out. "Its farmers and data have been sold," Gandhi reaffirmed as he wrapped up his remarks.Following Rahul Gandhi's address, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju declared that no one could sell India and charged that the Congress party was undermining the nation. "Congress is sad because India is progressing," he stated, asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is India's strongest PM. He claimed that before leaving Parliament, the Congress MP gave speeches full of falsehoods and unfounded accusations. Rijiju remarked, "He never stays back to hear the minister's response."It is regrettable that we lack a serious personality or a person with a serious character that would be appropriate for the role of opposition leader. Rahul Gandhi's lies will be refuted by our party both within and outside the House.

Updates for the 10th day of the Parliament Budget Session The Government-Opposition deadlock ends, and both Houses begin discussing the budget
The Lok Sabha began discussing the Union Budget on Tuesday, February 10, 2025, in the afternoon, signaling the end of the impasse between the opposition and treasury benches. The discussion had been delayed for days due to the opposition's insistence that LoP Rahul Gandhi be given the opportunity to speak on a number of topics. Following two adjournments, the House reconvened at 2 p.m., and the Speaker, Krishna Prasad Tenneti, invited Congressman Shashi Tharoor to commence the debate. The Thiruvananthapuram MP then began discussing the matter. Soon after opposition parties filed a notice to introduce a motion to oust Om Birla as Speaker of the Lok Sabha, the thaw occurred. Sukhendu Sekhar Roy of the Trinamool Congress emphasized that rising inequality could cause a "social upheaval," akin to what was seen in neighboring countries, as opposition parties criticized the government for failing to address issues like unemployment and inflation in the Union Budget during the budget discussion."If the situation is not brought under control, I fear that the country will soon experience social unrest similar to what has recently occurred in some of our neighboring countries. We have never witnessed such skyrocketing inequality between the rich, super rich, upper middle class, middle class, and the poor," Mr. Roy stated.

There has been a subtle change in the beauty industry during the past year. The popularity of dermal fillers and botox appeared to be waning. It appears that beauty enthusiasts are giving the needles a breather, as seen by celebrities discontinuing their procedures in favor of a more natural appearance and the growing popularity of products like face rollers and gua sha for a naturally elevated appearance.Instead of employing toxins or fillers to freeze or plump the skin, face acupuncture increases collagen and elastin through micro-trauma, providing a more natural, holistic lift than Botox and fillers. It improves skin texture and gives a subtle, refreshed appearance, but it takes several sessions to see noticeable changes. In contrast, Botox produces quicker, more noticeable, but transient, effects. Facial Acupuncture for Natural Lift: Mechanism: Increases circulation and collagen synthesis by stimulating the body's natural healing mechanisms with several small needles. Results: Enhances rather than changes face structure, giving the appearance of a subtle, renewed, and "lifted" appearance without the "frozen" or "pillowy" aspect. Benefits: Provides improved skin tone and texture by addressing the underlying causes of aging, including tension, stress, and hormonal imbalance. Longevity: Because they support the body's natural healing processes, benefits may be longer-lasting even though they are not instantaneous. Side effects: There is little chance of minor redness or bruises, and there is no recovery period.

When you chew a piece of ginger every day for sixty days, your body experiences this.
Strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties can be found in ginger. However, what would happen if a person chewed a piece of ginger every day for sixty days? When we asked Dr. Amreen Sheikh, chief nutritionist at KIMS Hospitals, Thane, about it, he replied that it increases circulation, relaxes the airways, and progressively lessens throat inflammation. Many patients report decreased bloating, improved digestion, and fewer coughs after six to eight weeks. Ginger can ease the inner lining of the airways and provide general lung comfort for people who are susceptible to seasonal respiratory symptoms, according to Sheikh.Yes, but with reasonable expectations, Sheikh argued. Unlike medication, ginger does not "open the lungs." Rather, it operates subtly. It can aid those who frequently experience irritation from pollutants, relieve moderate wheezing from cold weather, and clear congestion in the throat. Additionally, by loosening mucus, its warming impact facilitates its expulsion during an illness. Ginger can help with long-term lung conditions like COPD or asthma, but it should never take the place of prescription medication, Sheikh said. While using ginger on a daily basis is generally safe, Sheikh pointed out that excessive use can cause oral irritation, cause acidity in those who are sensitive, or slightly thin the blood. Before developing a habit, people who take blood thinners or have gastritis or acid reflux should speak with a doctor. A tiny portion is more than sufficient; moderation is crucial," Sheikh stated.

Cough syrup deaths: TNFDA probe reveals Coldrif manufacturer's shortcomings
According to CDSCO sources, the investigation into the Kanchipuram-based Coldrif cough syrup producer, which was connected to child fatalities in Madhya Pradesh, has shown shortcomings in the Tamil Nadu Food and Drug Administration's enforcement of fundamental regulatory standards. They said that Sresan Pharma, which was granted a license by the Tamil Nadu Food and Drug Administration (TNFDA) in 2011, carried on operating undetected for more than ten years in spite of its inadequate infrastructure and many infractions of national drug safety regulations.According to the sources, a recent examination by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) revealed the unit's terrible conditions and complete disregard for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). "The CDSCO has not participated in any of Sresan Pharma's audits. This company was not included in any of the CDSCO databases since the CDSCO was not involved and the state FDA did not provide the CDSCO with any information on it, according to a source.Rule 84AB of the D and C Rules mandates that manufacturers update all of their certified items on the "Sugam" site, according to another source at the CDSCO.In order to facilitate improved monitoring, the regulation was notified to create a national database of all the authorized items in the nation. "The business failed to list its goods in the database. It did not follow this guideline as a result. According to the source, the state regulator is in charge of ensuring that the regulation is followed in the state.

Why the most popular (and dubious) fad right now is North West's finger piercing
The Kardashian-Jenner family is known for starting trends, some of which are lighthearted, some of which are outrageous, and others of which are downright dubious. When Kim Kardashian and her 12-year-old daughter North West were spotted in Rome recently, everyone's attention was drawn to North's middle finger dermal piercing.Their excursion has generated a lot of controversy, with Kim facing backlash for permitting her preteen child receive the piercing. However, finger piercings have also gained popularity, and many people are now interested in learning more about them, their process, and their safety.A dermal piercing, also known as a micro dermal or single-point piercing, is a way to change your body where a piece of jewelry is inserted under the skin so that only the pretty top is visible, says Sahil Bali, an artist at Devil'z Tattooz in Delhi. Bali continues by explaining that dermal piercings are single-entry piercings, as opposed to conventional piercings, which enter one side of the skin and exit the other. "They are performed by using a needle or dermal punch to make a tiny pocket in the skin, after which an anchor base is inserted beneath the skin. After that, a decorative stud or gem is put onto the anchor," he explains, adding that these piercings may be done practically anywhere on the body, including the fingers, lower back, cheekbone, and chest, but they take longer to heal than conventional piercings."Dermal piercings need careful cleaning and protection, as they can get easily irritated or caught on things, making them slightly higher maintenance than normal piercings," says Dr. Shireen Furtado, senior consultant, medical and cosmetic dermatology, Aster CMI Hospital, Bengaluru.

Axar Patel leads DC to a decisive victory over Rishabh Pant's LSG on a night that contrasts for the captains.
Returning to Lucknow for the first time since his unsatisfactory dismissal from the team, KL Rahul ended the game with a spectacular six to go undefeated in a run-chase with a 42-ball 57.On a night full of stories at Lucknow's Ekana Stadium, the Delhi Capitals won by 8 wickets in a 160-run chase, solidifying their status as this season's title contenders. KL Rahul, who is making his first appearance in Lucknow after his unsatisfactory dismissal from the team, ended the game with a spectacular six to go undefeated in a run chase with a 42-ball 57. In the twelfth over of their respective innings, LSG and DC both lost their second wicket. Axar Patel entered when a composed Abishek Porel collapsed. At this point, DC was only under a little pressure to take a few wickets, but it might have grown complicated because new batters take time to get comfortable. With two sixes over the midwicket zone, his favorite hit against spin, Axar took out Ravi Bishnoi in the very next over after Avesh Khan had dismissed him after four dot balls. In the following over, facing Avesh once more after being outscored by a few deliveries, he decided to take a chance and hit a four to try to clear the fielder at mid-off. The most impressive stroke came from Shardul Thakur, who took up a not-so-short ball with the weight still on his backfoot and sent it over long on for a six.

Nitish Rana on RR not selecting him for Super Over against DC despite 51 off 28: "One person never takes the call."
Despite hitting 51 off 28 balls against the Delhi Capitals, Nitish Rana was left out of the Super Over lineup as the Rajasthan Royals entered with Hetmyer and Riyan Parag.Nitish Rana remained in the middle until the 18th over of the chase after smashing 51 off 28 balls. At the Arun Jaitely Stadium in New Delhi on Wednesday, the Rajasthan Royals sent neither batsman to bat despite Yashasvi Jaiswal's 51 off 37 balls in the Super Over against the Delhi Capitals. Eyes were rolling when Shimron Hetmyer and Riyan Parag came out to bat in the Super Over. Rana wasn't even on the list of the three batters for the Super Over, but Jaiswal was chosen to bat following a wicket fall.RR's choice proved to be a poor one as Mitchell Starc of DC cramped the Hetmyer for space with yorkers and the reverse swing, allowing him to begin the Super Over with a dot ball. The Australian bowler was hit for four after missing his mark on the next delivery, but he recovered with another low full toss in the third ball. A single was taken by Hetmyer.Starc's low full toss was hit by Riyan Parag over third man for a boundary, sometimes known as a no-ball. After it appeared that RR would easily reach 15 with three balls left, the game took yet another sharp turn. RR was bowled out for just 11 as Parag and Jaiswal were ran out in the following ball.KL Rahul and Tristian Stubbs smash two sixes in the first three balls of Sandeep Sharma's Super Over to give DC a historic victory, so the total was insufficient. Following the game, Nitish Rana stated that the decision to send Riyan Parag and Shimron Hetmyer instead of him for the Super Over was made by the RR management. Rana said he didn't have an alternative response, adding that if Hetmyer had hit a couple of sixes in the Super Over, the questions would have been different."The call is answered by management, not a single individual. Along with two other senior players and coaches, the captain is present. You wouldn't be asking this question if Shimron Hetmyer had hit two sixes. I'll respond with the same response. I have no other response. Every choice we made was the right one. Everyone knows that Hetmyer is our finisher. During the press conference, Rana stated, "He has previously delivered."

India's bold strategy aids in a quick T20 reconstruction
The world champions are creating an environment where players perform well without worrying about keeping their spots in the squad or taking wickets.Kolkata: Although it's early, the process and outcomes give hope that India would successfully defend the T20 World Cup at home the following year. Despite the pessimism caused by the Test and ODI transition issues, India's T20 trajectory stands out thanks to series victories against South Africa, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, and now England. Even more so when one considers that Kuldeep Yadav, Shubman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, and Yashasvi Jaiswal have not been parachuted in.This is most likely a greater accomplishment. However, they have approached it virtually undetected. No culture of stars. Verify. No set order for batting. Verify. Just a group of young, talented, and incredibly self-assured cricket players going about their business without worrying about career curves. By the way, all IPL linchpins.Captain Suryakumar Yadav acknowledges his lack of quality as he is left off the Champions Trophy roster. Abhishek Sharma thinks a ball is there to be struck, hence he doesn't count returns. As long as Tilak Varma is at the crease, the second Twenty20 match in Chennai demonstrated that no equation is too difficult. And the fact that India lost to 12/3 and then 79/5 at Pune on Friday, yet still managed to score 181, demonstrated that the previous game's disaster chasing in Rajkot was really a fluke. The realization that not everything can be managed lies at the core of this long-term upsurge. Earlier this week, Sitanshu Kotak, India's new batting coach, said it. "To achieve a score of 200 or 225, and if you are

Bihar Catch-22 Congress and RJD are hesitant to take action against MLAs who did not participate in Rajya Sabha elections
Both parties are currently in a difficult situation after the Opposition Mahagathbandhan lost to the NDA in the pivotal Rajya Sabha elections earlier this week due to the absence of four of its MLAs, three from the Congress and one from the RJD. They are unsure of how to deal with them. Surendra Mehta (Valmiki Nagar), Manoj Vishwas (Forbesganj), and Manohar Prasad Singh (Manihari) have all received show-cause notices from the Congress, and the RJD has not yet made a decision regarding their Dhaka lawmaker Faisal Rahman.Asit Nath Tiwari, a spokesperson for the Bihar Congress, told The Indian Express that the notifications were sent out despite the fact that Rajya Sabha elections are exempt from the anti-defection law. "Top party leaders will meet and decide on the appropriate course of action after we receive their responses," he stated.Another Congress leader, however, pointed out that the MLAs make up almost half of the party's strength in the Assembly and suggested that disciplinary action was improbable. What happens if the Speaker acknowledges them as a distinct group? Regardless, the rebels weren't actually members of Congress. Singh is known to be close to JD(U) leaders, whereas Mehta received a ticket because of the influence of (Independent Purnea MP) Pappu Yadav," the politician stated.Rahman, the son of former MP Motiur Rahman, presents a similar problem for the RJD. "Faisal narrowly secured his seat in the Assembly elections last year. Additionally, we have verified that his mother was quite ill on March 16, the day of the election. The party is likely to call the MLA once our leader Tejashwi Yadav comes to Patna. An RJD senior stated that the party will not be provoked by NDA leaders "who want to further weaken it," although no official show-cause notice has yet been issued.

A new system is implemented by Priyanka Gandhi to choose Congress candidates for the Assam elections.
Senior state leaders are typically summoned to the nation's capital for the screening committee's meeting with the state election committee (SEC) in Delhi. The three committee members have been given five districts each by Priyanka ji, who has instructed them to visit these areas in order to get input from stakeholders and local leaders. The three leaders are currently visiting local media, civil society activists, and cadres in the three areas. All of these sessions are private, and the results will be presented to the screening committee at its next meeting," the source stated. If Vadra's trial is successful and the system functions effectively, the AICC may think about adopting it for next state elections, a senior AICC leader told The Indian Express. According to the leader, "this system could be emulated in other upcoming elections, regardless of how we do in the Assam polls in terms of winning seats."The rest of the state would be discussed later, but the exercise is currently taking on in Upper Assam. Additionally, the split was made using the districts' social engineering. Since Ulaka is a tribal leader himself, he has been allocated several districts with a sizable population of tribal communities, whereas Masood has been allotted districts with a sizable Muslim population, the source said.

The TRUE difference between yogurt and curd is as follows:
Yogurt and curd are two common dairy products that are sometimes used interchangeably, but are they really the same? Examining them more closely reveals subtle distinctions, especially in nutritional makeup, beyond their creamy textures and acidic flavors. Here's everything you need to know about the distinctions between yoghurt and curd.Yogurt is a phrase used to describe a particular type of dairy product made by fermenting milk with certain strains of bacteria, whereas curd is a general term used to describe all fermented dairy products.Curd is usually prepared by adding a tiny amount of starter, or pre-made curd, to warm milk and letting it ferment. Curd is a great source of probiotics, protein, and calcium nutritionally. By encouraging the development of healthy bacteria in the digestive system, the probiotics in curd enhance intestinal health. Conversely, yoghurt is fermented using particular bacterial cultures, such as Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus bulgaricus. Beyond the nutrients in curd, the particular strains of bacteria utilized in the manufacturing of yoghurt often result in increased levels of probiotics in the product. Probiotics like this help improve gut health. What impact do they have on gut health? Probiotics, also referred to as "good bacteria," are essential to curd and yoghurt. These microbes promote healthy nutrition absorption, facilitate digestion, and maintain a balanced gut microbiome. Yogurt, on the other hand, is often a better option for people who are concerned about their digestive health because of its stronger probiotic content. What distinguishes yogurt from curd? Nutritionist Nmami Agarwal is using her Instagram account to spread the word about the distinction between yogurt and curd. "Curd is an important part of the Indian diet," the author adds in her piece. It is an excellent choice for those who are lactose intolerant and a high source of calcium. A dairy product called yogurt is made by utilizing bacteria to ferment milk. Yogurt culture is the term for the bacteria used to ferment milk. This bacteria produces lactic acid from the fermentation of lactose in milk, giving yogurt its tart and acidic flavor," the author explains in her piece.Nmami highlights the following points to show how the two differ from one another. Since curd does not contain the typical number of live bacteria and cannot be classified as a probiotic, it is natural and varies from house to house. Yogurt contains live strains of streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus bulgaris bacteria, whereas curd contains Lactobacillus bacteria, or lactic acid bacteria. As an industrial product, yogurt has flavoring options.Yogurt's health benefits include: 1. Protein, potassium, molybdenum, and pantothenic acid, sometimes known as vitamin B5. 2. Yogurt's high protein content helps with weight loss. 3. Yogurt is a healthy choice for people with high blood pressure because of its potassium content. 4. Yogurt has probiotics, which give the gut good bacteria and support a healthy flora. Better digestion and general health are associated with a healthy gut. Probiotics, which are abundant in yogurt, have been shown to extend life. Yogurt is recommended for consumption by those with dairy product allergies since it does not trigger the lactose allergy, according to Nmami.

Indias youthful aspiration for luxury
Top fashion brands from across the world are swarming India in an attempt to gain traction in a country with more retail space, more well-defined online shopping experiences, and—most importantly—a burgeoning youth population that isn't afraid to live the good life. The Singh family from Amritsar, Punjab, views their visits to Delhi's DLF Emporio mall as a miniature holiday. Sukhwinder Singh, 39, drives 450 kilometers in his Range Rover to the national capital for a two-day visit every three to four months with his teenage son and wife. They shop for clothing, shoes, and purses at the upscale mall while spending the night in a five-star hotel.Almost ₹10 lakh was their shopping cost on their first excursion of 2024. The merchant Singh purchased a red Gucci sweater with an embroidered "G" design and a Louis Vuitton wallet made of Damoflage canvas; his spouse purchased a set of golden Jimmy Choo heels, a Barbie-pink Valentino purse, and a necklace by Sunita Shekhawat; their son purchased a pair of brown leather Bally shoes. There's hardly much here in Amritsar. Thus, visiting Delhi is like to a celebration - two days dedicated to endless dining and shopping," remarks Singh, donning a black sweatsuit emblazoned with the white Fendi emblem and black Louis Vuitton ankle boots. He declares, "I like expensive clothing with prominent designer logos." "Dosanjh, his favorite singer-actor, is Diljit, right? similar to him.Krishna Aggarwal, a resident of south Delhi, went at the mall the same Wednesday night to purchase an Omega watch for himself as a pre-birthday present because he is turning 29. The businesswoman, who is wearing jeans, a turtleneck sweater, and a deep blue Hugo Boss jacket, declares, "I like quiet luxury." "Not yelling at logos," he continues. One thing unites Singh and Aggarwal: a desire to possess high-end goods. Many Indians, particularly the post-millennials (Gen Z) and millennials (Gen Y), who account for 52% of the nation's population (compared to 47% globally), are in agreement—especially in the wake of the pandemic. Unlike their parents and grandparents, they would rather spend more money on high-end brands that demonstrate their sophisticated taste and offer them the freedom to display their possessions. They will accept it if they enjoy it. And India's luxurious desire is being fueled by this mentality.India's luxury market is expected to triple in the next six years and reach $200 billion (roughly ₹16.6 trillion), according to a January 2023 Bain & Co. report titled Renaissance In Uncertainty: Luxury Builds On Its Rebound. This growth will be driven by Gen Y (born between 1981 and 1996), Z (1997–2012), and Alpha (born after 2010), as well as an expanding upper middle class.

What the fintech industry hopes for the 2024 budget
A new BankBazaar.com article outlines the budget wish-list of the fintech sector, which includes getting all banks on board with the account aggregator structure, creating parity between digital and non-digital lenders, and treating unlisted equity at par with listed equity for long-term capital gains taxation.Expectations are high regarding certain favors being given to taxpayers and specific industries, even though India's finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman has stated that the upcoming Budget, which is scheduled to be presented on February 1, is only a vote-on-account (approving the continuation of existing programmes) and not a full-fledged Budget.BankBazaar.com has published a list of requests the fintech industry has made of the government in a report. While some of these requests may not be covered by the budget, they can be seen as a comprehensive list of what the fintech industry hopes to see in 2024.Account aggregator (AA) framework with fast tracking – The government introduced the AA framework in September 2021, which makes it possible for financial institutions like banks and insurance companies to securely share a person's data with that person when that person gives consent. The idea is that a person can electronically share their financial information with another financial institution rather than having to send paperwork to each one individually. The person must register with an AA, an organization under RBI regulation. The BankBazaar.com paper discusses getting as many bank accounts as possible integrated into this framework and bringing all banks—public and private—on board the AA system. According to the most recent data, a few banks are still not included in the AA framework, including City Union Bank, Dhanlaxmi Bank, RBL Bank, South Indian Bank, and others. It also discusses incorporating the Goods and Services Tax Identification Number, or GSTIN—a designation that in India identifies businesses that are registered for GST—into the AA framework. Once that occurs, it will open the door for small enterprises and retail consumers to obtain loans from many lenders in a purely digital manner.More documents have been added to DigiLocker. Additional documents including the EPFO passbook, ePAN, and form 26 AS (statement showing tax credit) should be added to DigiLocker, according to a BankBazaar.com article. Customers will benefit from easy access to their papers and the ability to share them with financial institutions for prompt credit disbursement. The Ministry of Electronics & IT introduced DigiLocker, a safe cloud-based platform for document exchange, archiving, and authentication. Using a smartphone or Aadhaar number, one can register for DigiLocker and then submit documents.Creating an even playing field for online and offline lenders The RBI released its rules for digital lending in September 2022, in response to the unscrupulous activities of illicit digital lending apps. The guidelines place the burden of proof on banks and NBFCs to make sure that, among other things, grievance redressal officers are engaged, loan-related costs are disclosed upfront, and digital lending apps and platforms do not misuse customer data. They also state that loan servicing occurs directly with the lender's (regulated entity) account and not the digital lending app or platform.According to the BankBazaar.com research, online and offline lending should be treated equally. Curfews and popcorn: India prepares for the Ram temple in a panic
Movie theaters will broadcast the event live, while the stock exchange will be closed. However, for many who recall the blood that was poured in its aftermath, fear and suffering endure as the nation grinds to a standstill for the opening of a temple.Mumbai/Yavatmal, India - In the Yavatmal area of central India, mini-trucks have been winding through communities on winding roads for the past month.Data from the local divisional collectorate shows that Yavatmal has been in such severe agrarian hardship over the past 20 years that over 5,800 farmers have committed suicide here. However, these trucks haven't delivered any assistance to struggling farmers. Rather, the trucks have been circulating across the district, urging farmers to donate grains, with banners of the Hindu god Ram affixed to their sides.Three decades after a Hindu nationalist-led mob destroyed a mosque on the site, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate a Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22. The grains are their route to the city to feed the throngs of worshippers who will be in attendance. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), which is a branch of the Hindu nationalist Sangh Parivar network, which is overseen by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and comprises Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is in charge of operating the trucks.Grain sacks are being quickly loaded into a big container truck at Yavatmal's Samvidhan Chowk. "Three container trucks have been filled with these donations, and this is the fourth one," states Raju Niwal, President of the VHP Vidarbha Prant. The goal, according to VHP volunteers there, is to inspire farmers to get engaged in the festivities and give them a sense of purpose. The Modi administration and its ideological supporters have been effective in stirring up this feeling all throughout the nation. The effort to erect the Ram temple at Ayodhya, where Hindu scriptures claim he was born, has been tainted by violence and acrimonious dispute for more than seven decades. A study paper published by the Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies estimates that during the violence that erupted around the BJP-led campaign seeking a Ram temple in the early 1990s, close to 2,500 people (PDF) were slain. However, as Modi prepares to open the Ram temple, the nation has been inundated by popular culture gestures and representations that downplay that problematic history, observers claim. This has given the Ram temple movement a positive reputation and left a lasting legacy for Modi among Hindus. The temple's inauguration is widely publicized, appearing in both schools and social media timelines. There are a ton of new songs on music outlets urging people to enjoy the occasion and declaring that Ram was "coming back." Ram's life has been the subject of new TV series. A temporary temple has been erected in the studio, and entire episodes of reality TV programs have been devoted to songs honoring Ram. Huge Ram decals are seen on news television channel cars, and news studios have giant Ram cutouts that serve as the background for news disputes. On its inaugural flight from Ahmedabad to Ayodhya, Indigo, the largest domestic airline in India, dressed up as Ram, his wife Sita, and his brother Lakshman. One of the biggest movie chains in India, PVR Cinemas, stated on Friday that they would be collaborating with the leading Hindi news channel Aaj Tak to provide live footage of the temple's opening event in theaters all throughout the nation. Those who attend would receive "a complimentary popcorn combo." Reels and videos are honoring the temple's inauguration on WhatsApp and Instagram with striking images. One such image, which has gone popular on many platforms, depicts Modi standing tall over Ram and escorting him inside the temple. The majority of this has Modi's approval; a review of his Twitter timeline shows that he has tweeted at least sixteen songs related to Ramadan this month. In fact, he put together a playlist of 62 of these songs, which he tweeted on Friday. At least five of the 14 posts he has made on his WhatsApp channel since January 1 have been about the opening of the Ram temple. Encouraged, a number of well-known artists, including Amit Trivedi and Anu Malik, as well as Sonu Nigam, Jubin Nautiyal, Shaan, Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik, and Kailash Kher, have released songs related to the event in the last few weeks. Modi can be seen in a lot of these music videos. These tracks have been multiplied in their reach by being recycled for crowdsourced reels and videos. However, a lot of people claim that a recognition of the violent history of the movement surrounding the temple is absent from the euphoria.

Sony cancels plans to merge with Zee Entertainment in India
Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. has been formally informed by Sony Group Corp. of its decision to revoke the merger with its India division. The massive Japanese entertainment company is anticipated to reveal its decision to fire Zee to the exchange later on Monday. The letter was sent early on Monday. Sony terminated its merger with Zee, citing unmet requirements as the cause."The Merger did not close by the End Date as, among other things, the closing conditions to the Merger were not satisfied by then," stated Sony in a statement. In an attempt to prolong the End Date, Sony Pictures Networks India Private Ltd (SPNI) has been holding conversations; nevertheless, the Discussion Period has ended without an agreement being reached. Because of this, SPNI sent ZEEL a notification on January 22, 2024, ending the final agreements. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) investigation into Zee chief executive officer Punit Goenka compounded the leadership issues around the merger, which was announced more than two years ago.The reason for the termination is a standoff between the two firms over the direction of the combined company, specifically with reference to Punit Goenka, the CEO of Zee, who is being probed by SEBI, the capital markets regulator. The agreement, which intended to create a $10 billion media behemoth capable of taking on global behemoths like Netflix Inc. and Amazon.com Inc., has all but collapsed due to this standoff.Sony sent out a letter of termination after a 30-day grace period expired over the weekend. The two sides were unable to agree on a deadline that was established for late December during this time. The Mumbai-based media outlet was charged by SEBI in June with forging loan recovery documents to hide secret financing arrangements involving its founder, Subhash Chandra. Chandra and his son Goenka "abused their position" and misappropriated funds, according to SEBI's interim ruling.Sony continued to view the ongoing investigation as a potential threat to corporate governance, even though Goenka was able to challenge the SEBI judgment and receive relief from an appellate court that prohibited him from holding an executive or director position in a listed firm.As competitors assemble, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. now faces more competition and investor disquiet as a result of Sony Group Corp.'s public notification of its intention to sever ties with the media network. The Sony Group announced in a statement on Monday that the merger did not close by the deadline because, among other things, the closing conditions were not met by then. While [Sony Pictures Networks India] has been in good faith conversations to extend the deadline, the period for discussions to do so has passed without a decision being made. Because of this, SPNI sent ZEEL a notification on January 22, 2024, ending the final agreements. An even more vehement statement was released by Sony in India. "Even though we had sincere conversations to extend the deadline under the merger collaboration agreement, we were unable to reach a consensus on an extension by the deadline of January 21. We are deeply saddened that the merger's closing requirements were not met by the deadline, following more than two years of talks," the statement read. "We are steadfastly dedicated to expanding our footprint in this dynamic and rapidly expanding market and providing Indian audiences with top-notch entertainment.""Does not anticipate any material impact on its consolidated financial results as a result of the termination of the definitive agreements for the merger," the Sony Group added in its statement. However, it appears likely that there may be a cost involved. As part of the original agreement, Sony might have been required to pay Zee a $100 million termination fee; however, since the penalty cause has expired, this might no longer be the case. However, there's still a chance that Zee or its stockholders will suit them. Sony, on the other hand, is requesting a termination fee of $90 million, "invoking arbitration and seeking interim reliefs against ZEEL, on account of alleged breaches by ZEEL of the terms of [merger cooperation agreement]." All claims made by [Sony vehicles] Culver Max and BEPL regarding purported MCA violations, particularly those pertaining to termination fees, are fully refuted by ZEEL."The Board of Directors at ZEEK is assessing every alternative. The statement said, "ZEEL will take all required actions to protect the long-term interests of all its stakeholders based on the board's advice, including pursuing appropriate legal action and challenging Culver Max and BEPL's claims in the arbitration procedures. "ZEEL has demonstrated the highest level of commitment to the merger by taking a number of permanent and irrevocable actions, which have cost ZEEL money both once and repeatedly. The business will nevertheless use the inherent value of its assets to assess both organic and inorganic development prospects. With over 70 linear TV channels, two video streaming services (ZEE5 and Sony LIV), and two film studios (Zee Studios and Sony Pictures Films India) all housed under one roof, the $10 billion merger of ZEE and Culver Max Entertainment, formerly known as Sony Pictures Networks India, would have been possible. That would have strengthened its position in the Indian streaming business, where consolidation is currently taking place, and made it the biggest player in the nation's still sizable linear TV market. Prior to a series of regulatory and other approval processes, the deal was originally proposed in 2021 and officially announced in December of the same year. The deadline for the two businesses to complete the transaction expires on December 21, 2023, but was extended by aThe Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), which oversees the country's stock market, separately released a damning investigative report during which it accused Zee founder Subhash Chandra and CEO and MD Punit Goenka of "siphoning off" money and running the company for their personal benefit. Goenka was prohibited from holding an executive position at any listed firm as of August. Goenka was to have served as the chief operating executive at the combined Sony-Zee company. Goenka was permitted to assume the leadership role after the decision to ban him was overturned on appeal in October, but Sony was reportedly very uncomfortable with him in that capacity since it might have breached Japanese corporate governance regulations. Additionally, in India, MD andIts share price, which fell by 25% from INR371 on December 10, 2021, to INR248 on January 19, 2024, is a reflection of those challenges. Its market capitalization as of early January was INR223 billion, or $3.68 billion, which contrasted sharply with the deal conditions' suggested valuation of about $5 billion. Zee shares fell 6% more in early Monday trading on the Bombay Stock Exchange and the NSE as a result of the transaction cancellation news, trading for about INR231 a share. It's unclear if the current market circumstances still support the argument that the larger group's economies of scale, cost reductions, and enhanced advertising market power two years ago justified the acquisition price. The TV industry in India has recovered since
