Mumbai, Mar 20 (PTI) Aditya Dhar's "Dhurandhar 2," which stars Ranveer Singh as an undercover agent in Pakistan, shattered numerous records to have one of the greatest debuts in Indian cinema, with an expected first-day revenue of over Rs 100 crore. According to preliminary estimates by trade tracking website Sacnilk, the movie made over Rs 43 crore from paid previews on Wednesday—the largest amount ever for an Indian film—and Rs 102.55 crore on its opening day on Thursday, bringing its total earnings in India to almost Rs 145 crore.The film has already topped the opening day receipts of recent Hindi blockbusters, including Shah Rukh Khan's "Jawan" (Rs 75 crore) and "Pathaan" (Rs 57 crore), as well as the horror-comedy "Stree 2" (Rs 54 crore). The makers are anticipated to update the official figures later in the day.

Given the excitement around the release of the second half following the enormous success of "Dhurandhar," the movie's global box office receipts are predicted to surpass Rs 200 crore.With nearly 15 lakh tickets sold, including paid previews, "Dhurandhar: The Revenge" debuted in theaters on Wednesday. It is anticipated to outperform the first "Dhurandhar," which made Rs 1,300 crore globally following its debut in December 2025."Dhurandhar: The Revenge," which was produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar, stars Ranveer Singh as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, a young guy who changes into Hamza Ali Mazari, a clandestine agent working deep within Pakistan. The sequel traces the beginnings of the guy beneath the cover while charting Mazari's ascent in the Karachi underworld.
