How does my workout change if I go to the gym right after eating a big dinner?
It can be alluring to complete dinner and go straight to the gym after a demanding day, particularly if you are pressed for time. One such fitness enthusiast went to Quora to find out if exercising right after a large meal is a healthy option. We contacted Dr. Parth Agrawal, Consultant Arthroscopy at KIMS Hospitals, Thane, for a reaction. He stated that the body finds it difficult to balance exercise and digestion at the same time. "A significant quantity of blood flow is sent into the stomach to aid in digestion when you eat a substantial meal. That blood is abruptly diverted to the functioning muscles if you start exercising right after, he says. This change may cause discomfort and slow down digestion. Bloating is one of the most prevalent problems people encounter. Stomach cramps, nausea, lightheadedness, and even acid reflux might result from a full stomach paired with vigorous activity. These symptoms can have a direct impact on your performance in addition to being unpleasant. Your body is preoccupied with managing intestinal stress rather than strength, endurance, or form.

Dinner timings, protein obsession, and therapy talk: The lifestyle debates that defined 2025
By 2025, lifestyle choices had evolved from quiet, private choices to everyday arguments on social media and at family get-togethers. When is the best time to eat? Should you increase your protein intake or reduce your carbs? Is it better to pursue balance rather than ambition? Strong opinions, studies, counter-studies, and lived experiences that frequently opposed one another now accompanied what was once thought to be regular. People have questioned decades-old behaviors in the past year. As metabolic health became a common topic of discussion, dinner times shifted earlier. Advice on weight loss divided into opposing groups, each of which claimed to be more "sustainable" than the others. We also looked at the effects of high-protein diets on the body, and Dr. Samrat Shah, a consultant at Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune, saw both advantages, like increased satiety, and disadvantages, such gastrointestinal distress when fiber and carbohydrates are drastically cut.Hustle vs. minimalism Another front in the year's lifestyle discussions was workplace culture and individual identity. We discussed the emergence of "career minimalism," which is a deliberate rejection of unrelenting hustle in favor of psychological well-being and limited ambition. "A lot of this shift is simply the world changing," said Gurleen Baruah, an organizational psychologist and existential analyst at That Culture Thing. Many young people witnessed how rapidly "stable" jobs vanished, how businesses laid off thousands of workers overnight, and how erratic the economy has become, particularly after the epidemic.

When you chew a piece of ginger every day for sixty days, your body experiences this.
Strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties can be found in ginger. However, what would happen if a person chewed a piece of ginger every day for sixty days? When we asked Dr. Amreen Sheikh, chief nutritionist at KIMS Hospitals, Thane, about it, he replied that it increases circulation, relaxes the airways, and progressively lessens throat inflammation. Many patients report decreased bloating, improved digestion, and fewer coughs after six to eight weeks. Ginger can ease the inner lining of the airways and provide general lung comfort for people who are susceptible to seasonal respiratory symptoms, according to Sheikh.Yes, but with reasonable expectations, Sheikh argued. Unlike medication, ginger does not "open the lungs." Rather, it operates subtly. It can aid those who frequently experience irritation from pollutants, relieve moderate wheezing from cold weather, and clear congestion in the throat. Additionally, by loosening mucus, its warming impact facilitates its expulsion during an illness. Ginger can help with long-term lung conditions like COPD or asthma, but it should never take the place of prescription medication, Sheikh said. While using ginger on a daily basis is generally safe, Sheikh pointed out that excessive use can cause oral irritation, cause acidity in those who are sensitive, or slightly thin the blood. Before developing a habit, people who take blood thinners or have gastritis or acid reflux should speak with a doctor. A tiny portion is more than sufficient; moderation is crucial," Sheikh stated.

After a huge debut, the share price of Indigene plummets 12%. Purchase, sell, or hold?
Current state of the stock market: The price of Indigene shares listed at a hefty premium on the BSE and NSE, notwithstanding weakness across Dalal Street segments. The price of one Indigene share is ₹659.70 on the BSE, while the share is listed at ₹655 on the NSE. Profit-booking, which occurred shortly after the share debut, caused the stock to drop sharply against the listing price, with the NSE and BSE seeing intraday lows of ₹527.10 and ₹527.80, respectively. As a result, the stock was unable to maintain the greater premium. Nonetheless, there was a slight recovery and reduction in losses for the recently listed shares. As of right now, the NSE is quoting Indegene shares at ₹600 apiece, which is around 9% less than the listing price.Prashanth Tapse, AVP of Research at Mehta Equities, commented on the Indegene share price listing: "Taking into account the robust subscription demand and a healthy listing gain as per our expectations against the issue price of ₹452 per share." Because of its near monopoly in providing services specifically designed for the life sciences sector and its in-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical marketing, clinical trials, pharmacovigilance, medical and regulatory affairs, and health informatics—all of which benefit its clientele throughout the value chain—we think the company's healthy listing is warranted."Purchase, sell, or hang onto? The professional guidance from Mehta Equities is evident for the Indegene share allottees upon listing. "Post-listing, we see the valuations are getting stretched and considering market selloff mood and other parameters, we are recommending conservative investors to book profits, while risk-taking investors can continue holding for long term." This advice is essential for making wise investing choices.A smart go-to-market approach is anticipated to propel Indegene's operational performance forward. It is recommended that investors who have been allotted shares hold them for medium- to long-term gains due to their solid financial track record and fair valuation.Investors are reassured by Pace 360's Chief Global Strategist and Co-Founder Amit Goel about Indegene Limited's distinct position in the market. "Indegene Limited is a distinctive participant in the Life Science Industry, providing digitally guided commercialization services. Its virtual monopoly accounts for more than 98% of its total income worldwide. Considering the favorable outlook following profit-booking, investors could want to allocate funds for medium- to long-term gains." The company's future prospects should be bolstered by this unique position.

Why Indian fashion designers are conspicuously absent from the Met Gala 2024 event

But with all of the feathered dreams and sequined masterpieces, our rich fashion history is mainly missing.Designer Ridhi Mehra claims that due to persistent misconceptions that Indian fashion is only associated with traditional or ethnic dress, India's presence at the Met Gala has been restricted, despite a few celebrities donning traditional Indian clothing or accessories. Mehra stated, "Even though Indian fashion is immensely inventive and varied, changing these misconceptions on a global level may take some time and focused work from both designers and industry stakeholders. "The essay by Susan Sontag served as the inspiration for the 2019 theme Camp: Notes on Fashion, which appeared perfect for designer Manish Arora's exuberant designs. His distinctive look, which is renowned for its opulence and vivacity, wonderfully encapsulated the spirit of "camp." Not to be outdone, Arora dressed Australian actor Keiynan Lonsdale in a stunning gown that flowed from a neon green full-sleeved bodice and was embellished with 1,500 hand-embroidered butterflies in his typical colorful colors. The final flourish? That year, Arora's famous circus outfit was even on show at the Costume Institute exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which is a real high point for any designer. We saw socialite Natasha Poonawalla dressed in a custom gold sari by designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee for 2022's In America: A Lexicon of Fashion. Mandira Bedi criticizes fast diets and exhorts individuals to achieve balance in their exercise regimens on No Diet Day.
One of the fittest actors in the business is Mandira Bedi. She has consistently promoted healthy eating and frequently shares motivational workout videos and updates. Mandira highlights the significance of discovering sustainable diets and striking a balance between eating what you enjoy and maintaining your fitness on this International No Diet Day.The truth is, no matter how often we vow to work out, our diet plays a bigger role in our fitness journey than our exercise regimen. It's always thirty percent workout and seventy percent food. You can gradually alter that equation if you exercise. It won't appear if you work out at the gym while consuming bad cuisine or fried food, according to Bedi.Mandira Bedi, an actor and television host, has made the decision to "begin again" and put her health, fitness, and weight back at the forefront. Having worked in the television and film industries for more than thirty years, I can attest to the pressure artists face to meet preconceived notions about how they should look.Does she have any advice for artists who occasionally turn to fad diets out of desperation? "Everyone realizes this after trying it. Here's the thing. Everyone, in my opinion, needs to learn that lesson the hard way—through trial and error. You must identify a sustainable path if you wish to travel the path to excellent health and fitness. I've tried everything, even with myself. Everyone has to establish their own balance via trial and error," she says.
Why Is There A Red Line Applied to Certain Medicines?
Have you ever noticed the red stripe on some prescription labels? It's not only ornamental! This seemingly insignificant detail conveys important information about the medication inside. The issue? A lot of people overlook this important hint, which may result in taking medication without a prescription. Furthermore, self-medication can be dangerous—sometimes even fatal, as we all know. In an advisory released on Sunday, the Ministry of Health addressed this problem by stressing the significance of focusing on a particular detail found on the back label. This detail has the potential to affect the safety and efficacy of your medication. According to the ministry, pharmacies are only permitted to dispense these medications in conjunction with a legitimate medical prescription.Antibiotic resistance is avoidable! The Ministry of Health stated on X that a RED LINE on the medication strip suggests that the medication should not be taken without a prescription. Therefore, it is equally important to note whether the medicine's packet has a red stripe on it as it is to check the medicine's expiration date. In the meantime, the health ministry announced on Friday that India has won the coveted Measles and Rubella Champion Award in honor of the nation's valiant efforts to fight these infectious diseases.
Stay consistent in your fitness routine like Shaitaan actor Jyotika
"According to fitness expert Garima Goyal, maintaining proper form guarantees effective muscle engagement and lowers the danger of injury. Actor Jyotika from Haiti has been dependable in her pursuit of fitness. The Tamil actor's dedication to working out is actually evidence that fitness transcends age barriers. Jyotika provided a few glimpses of her practice with Mahesh Fitness Club teacher Mahesh Ghanekar, demonstrating her belief in the same. Queen, you're inspiring the crowd!"", but Soha Ali Khan, who same uses the same coach for training and said, ""Wow!!!"" In the reel, Jyotika is primarily seen performing bodyweight workouts. Exercises that use your own body as resistance without the need for extra weights or equipment are known as bodyweight exercises. These workouts use your body weight to increase overall fitness, increase muscle, and improve flexibility. Planks, lunges, squats, and push-ups are common examples, according to fitness specialist Garima Goyal. In what way do they assist? Bodyweight exercises have the benefit of being easily attainable; this makes them perfect for at-home training or situations where gym equipment is not available. According to Goyal, these workouts work a variety of muscle groups, enhancing functional strength and stamina. For example, push-ups work the triceps, shoulders, core, and chest. Your legs' muscles, particularly the quadriceps, hamstrings, and glutes, are worked as you squat. The same muscles in the lower body are worked during a lunge, but stability and balance are also needed. Planks provide strength to the shoulders, back, and core. Exercises using bodyweight can be tailored to different levels of fitness. As they gain strength, beginners can advance to increasingly difficult versions of the exercises by starting with modified versions, according to Goyal. More experienced practitioners can add explosive moves, increase reps, or vary their workouts to make them more intense. Because of their adaptability, bodyweight exercises can be used to target specific muscle groups or to engage the entire body. Additionally, they help with better coordination and body awareness, according to Goyal. Cardiovascular fitness is also improved by adding vigorous exercises like mountain climbers or burpees. What should you remember? Focus on good form to get the most out of bodyweight workouts. Sustaining proper form lowers the chance of injury and guarantees efficient muscle activation. Goyal advised being consistent and using different workouts to target different muscle groups to develop a well-rounded regimen. "

Unbelievably High Increase in STDs Throughout Europe
Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are on the rise throughout Europe, according to the EU's health agency, which stated on Thursday that these cases are "troubling" and may only represent "the tip of the iceberg". The European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) reports that in 2022, the number of syphilis cases increased by 34% to over 35,391, while the number of gonorrhoea cases increased by 48% to 70,881 in the EU and EEA region.Chlamydia cases increased by 16 percent to 216,508 in the 27 nations the organization covers. Both startling and concerning is this increase, according to ECDC director Andrea Ammon at a press conference. Ammon explained that this was because different countries had different testing policies and access to sexual health care. "These numbers, as big as they are, most likely only represent the tip of the iceberg because surveillance data may underestimate the true burden," he said. In a statement, the organization cautioned that even though syphilis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia are curable, untreated cases can still result in major health issues. These increases raise serious health concerns and show how urgently preventative measures and thorough health education need to be strengthened, according to Ammon. In order to meet the surge, Ammon emphasized that "testing, treatment, and prevention" were essential. The STI rates that are on the rise in Europe necessitate our quick attention and coordinated response. We can reverse the trend by giving testing, treatment, and prevention initiatives top priority, according to Ammon.
