How to remedy the five typical foods that may prevent your body from absorbing vitamin D
Immune system performance, bone health, and general well-being all depend on getting adequate vitamin D. While sunshine exposure and supplements might assist, many everyday meals may actually interfere with your body’s absorption of this vital mineral. Understanding these relationships can make a substantial difference in maintaining optimal vitamin D levels. Even a diet high in vitamin D or appropriate supplementation may not be as beneficial if we eat foods that prevent the absorption of the nutrient. Many people are unaware that their intake of vitamin D isn't being properly utilized by their body because of factors like fat content, specific minerals, or compounds in certain meals that can lower its bioavailability. To find out which five frequent foods might hinder the absorption of vitamin D and the mechanism underlying their effects, we consulted with an expert.According to Ashlesha Joshi, a nutritionist and fitness dietitian at Tone 30 Pilates, "some foods can affect how efficiently the body absorbs or uses vitamin D," as reported by indianexpress.com. The most prominent of these are foods that include phytates, like whole grains and legumes, which can bind to minerals and vitamin D and hinder absorption. Caffeine from tea or coffee in excess can also cause problems by lowering the expression of vitamin D receptors in the intestines. Regular alcohol consumption damages liver function, which is necessary for the conversion of vitamin D into its active form. Trans fats and hydrogenated oils included in processed foods might hinder the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins, such as vitamin D. Finally, because vitamin D is fat-soluble and needs dietary lipids for effective uptake, particularly high-fibre diets, while generally healthy, might occasionally limit absorption efficiency.According to Joshi, "since vitamin D is fat-soluble, combining it with good fats can greatly enhance absorption." For example, eating foods high in vitamin D, such as salmon, eggs, or fortified cereals, together with foods high in healthy fats, like avocado, olive oil, or almonds, can improve absorption. Consuming foods high in vitamin K2, such as fermented soy or cheese, also aids in calcium metabolism and complements vitamin D. She adds that timing is also important, saying that consuming vitamin D-fortified meals or pills after your main meal of the day, when fat intake is highest, helps maximize absorption. Regular exposure to the sun, even for a short while each day, naturally raises vitamin D levels even more.

Try these pain-relieving at-home back exercises on World Spine Day.
Back pain is one of the most prevalent health issues in today's world, impacting professionals, homemakers, students, and even young children. The main causes of back discomfort include poor posture, extended sitting, and irregular activity. However, with the right workouts and proper posture, coupled with a few easy adjustments to our everyday routines, back discomfort can be greatly decreased. Maintaining normal alignment of the bones and joints, preventing weariness, and lessening the load on muscles and ligaments are all made possible by good posture. Conversely, bad posture can cause stiffness and muscle imbalances, which can ultimately lead to persistent back discomfort. Improving posture is important for maintaining spinal health for many years to come, according to Dr. Ranjith Unnikrishnan, Consultant-Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon, KIMSHEALTH Trivandrum. The health of your posture and spine are extremely important to your body. If left untreated, back discomfort can impair general quality of life, limit mobility, and lower productivity. Most people may avoid or lessen back pain without medicine if they are attentive, disciplined, and follow easy corrective measures, he said.

Reversing prediabetes without losing weight: How dietary modifications, fat distribution, and glucose management reduce the risk of diabetes by 70%
More than one in three persons in the US have prediabetes, which is characterized by high blood sugar levels that are not yet high enough to be diagnosed as diabetes. About 70% of people with prediabetes may develop type 2 diabetes if their condition is not controlled, which raises their risk of consequences like kidney damage, neurological issues, and heart disease. Reversing prediabetes has typically involved losing weight with medication, diet, or exercise. Recent studies, however, suggest a paradigm shift: enhancing insulin sensitivity and glucose management might be more important than simply losing weight. Lifestyle changes that focus on food, exercise, and fat distribution can result in remission and significantly reduce the long-term risk of type 2 diabetes.According to a recent study by German researchers at University Hospital Tübingen that was published in Nature Medicine, prediabetes can be corrected without weight loss. After a year of lifestyle changes, participants who were able to achieve normal blood glucose regulation but did not lose a considerable amount of weight had a 70% lower chance of acquiring type 2 diabetes over the course of five years than those who were unable to achieve remission. Whole grains, fruits, non-starchy vegetables, and legumes are good sources of carbs, whereas meals high in healthy fats include fatty fish, seeds, nuts, and olive oil. Normalizing blood glucose levels also requires controlling stress and getting enough sleep. In the US, prediabetes, characterized by high blood sugar that is not yet diagnosed as diabetes, affects more than one in three persons. In addition to concerns like heart disease, renal issues, and nerve damage, type 2 diabetes eventually develops in about 70% of people with prediabetes if left untreated. Reversing prediabetes has typically involved losing weight with medication, diet, or exercise.A recent study that was published in Nature Medicine indicates that prediabetes can be corrected without weight loss, according to a Morning News Today story. After a year of lifestyle interventions, participants who did not lose weight but achieved normal blood glucose regulation had a 70% lower risk of type 2 diabetes over the next five years than those who did not achieve remission, according to research from the University Hospital Tübingen in Germany."A lifestyle intervention can bring prediabetes into remission, meaning back to normal glucose values, even without weight loss, and this remission cuts future type 2 diabetes risk by approximately 70% over up to 10 years," co-author Dr. Andreas Birkenfeld told Medical News Today.

Which of the three magnificent cats would most likely prevail in a fight involving tigers, leopards, and lions?
Big cats, from the sprawling African savannahs to the center of deep Asian jungles, captivate our collective imagination, especially when they are included in fictitious fights. In a conflict between a tiger, a leopard, or a lion, who would win? Let's examine the information. When it comes to sheer muscle and mass, tigers have the advantage. The largest of the great cats, male tigers can weigh up to 600 pounds or more. Although they usually weigh a little less, lions' stocky bodies nevertheless contain a lot of strength. Further investigation reveals that adult male tigers weigh 400–670 pounds, while male lions weigh 331–550 pounds. These parameters are validated by first-hand reports from animal observers: Even the greatest African lions are frequently greatly outnumbered by Bengal and Siberian tigers.Instead of speculating about who would prevail in a battle, we would much rather people focus their mental energies on preserving these amazing kitties. But because it's a frequently asked question, let's get started. The quick answer is that it depends on a variety of characteristics, including temperament, age, and size. Nonetheless, tigers typically have the upper hand. Tigers have an advantage in warfare since they are not only typically larger but also better at fighting when standing on their hind legs. Although there is much disagreement over the efficacy of this, some think that a lion's mane may offer some neck protection. When tigers and lions faced up in the Roman Coliseum, according to ancient legend, the tigers typically prevailed. Fortunately, though, those savage days are long gone. The likelihood of a tiger and lion encountering in the wild is nearly nonexistent nowadays. Lions are primarily located in Africa, with a small population surviving in a small area of India, whereas tigers traverse Asia. A tight affinity between these two species was shown at Big Cat Rescue between Cameron, a male lion, and Zabu, a white tiger. They were saved from a breeding environment that aimed to create ligers, a hybrid that we most definitely do not support. Although their humorous exchanges may have seemed like a quarrel, rest assured that it was all in good humor. And just so you know, we like to assume Zabu would have had the advantage.

Including a scoop of collagen every day in your routine to achieve flawless fitness and beauty? This is what to search for:
Supplementing on collagen every day can improve your appearance and level of fitness. Here are some things to consider when selecting the ideal choice:Even though collagen supplements have become more and more popular in the cosmetics and wellness industries in recent years, a sizable portion of the population is still unaware of the benefits of collagen and how it can improve one's general health. For those who don't know, collagen is the most prevalent protein in mammals, making up 30% of all the protein in our bodies and 70–80% of the protein in our skin.One-third of the proteins in the human body are made up of the stiff, fibrous protein collagen, which is primarily composed of molecules arranged in long, thin fibrils that support one another and keep our skin, joints, and connective tissues robust, elastic, and healthy. Nevertheless, our body begins to lose 1% of its collagen annually in the mid-to-late 20s and early 30s when collagen production begins to decline.A low amount of collagen in the body can cause a number of problems, including weakening blood vessels, bone and muscle weakness, and joint pain and stiffness. Dr. Shareefa Chause, a dermatologist and cosmetologist at Shareefa's Skin Care Clinic, stated in an interview with HT Lifestyle that "most importantly, insufficient collagen levels can also result in skin issues like wrinkles, sagging, dryness, and poor wound healing."The dilemma is how to choose the best collagen supplement, as collagen is crucial for general health. Experts concur that with so many options available, selecting the best collagen supplement can be overwhelming. While type 1, 2, and 3 collagen supplements are commonly mentioned, there is no proof that these types of supplements benefit different body parts; instead, this is merely a marketing gimmick. The source of collagen must be identified, as marine collagen has the highest bioavailability and guarantees 1.5 times better absorption than collagen from other sources. Experts concur that bovine collagen might be less expensive, but they also advise you to take your dietary choices and any potential sensitivities into account before choosing a collagen source.Meanwhile, because collagen supplements are invariably sourced from animal sources, vegetarians have always been at a disadvantage when it comes to collagen intake. "That is not true anymore," says Bhavesh Sheth, founder of INJA Wellness, because pure-veg collagen is now sold in India in flavors like green apple, blackcurrant, and natural. It is also gluten-free and keto-friendly collagen that is designed for fitness, wellness, and beauty.Certain types of collagen promote healthy skin, hair, and nails; others guarantee youth and inner peace; still others are intended for joint health and muscle repair. Because they are simple to use, readily absorbed by the body, and have a quicker potency than other types, experts recommend collagen supplements in powder form.Additionally, they advise that it is critical to select collagen supplements that have been approved by experts and that ensure the highest standards of quality and the greatest possible outcomes. So, in order to get that glowing beauty and fitness, are you using a scoop of collagen in your daily routine?

We have seen a 15–25% increase in 4-star hotels, resorts, villas, and retreats near major towns like Corbett, Jaipur, Coorg, and Pondicherry compared to the previous year."Many Indian professionals combine work and play by taking staycations in hill stations, which results in a spike in inquiries and bookings for lodging for hotel chains such as Ayatana Hospitality. "These locations offer modern amenities and high-speed internet connectivity, making them perfect for working remotely," stated Vishal Tony, Ayatana Hospitality's founder and managing director. The chief technology officer of SaffronStays recently managed his work while staying at one of their hotels in Mussoorie for ten days. Although the majority of offices are now fully operational, Malik from Yatra highlighted that other businesses are still operating remotely or in a hybrid mode, with the tendency of working from home seeing a spike during the summer's long weekends.
White bread with flavored beverages Nine items that hasten aging and make you appear older than you actually are
Your fondness of indulging in junk food binges and frequent nibbling may be hastening the aging process and making you appear older than you actually are. Your biological age and nutrition are closely linked, therefore consuming a lot of empty calories without getting enough nourishment might cause accelerated aging. On the other side, eating a balanced diet rich in fiber, complex carbohydrates, protein, fats, vitamins, and minerals will help you feel and look younger. A sedentary lifestyle, high levels of stress, poor sleep hygiene, and poor eating habits can all have a negative impact on your health and increase your risk of developing age-related illnesses. (Also read: 7 incorrect food combos that Ayurveda advises you to avoid, from date and milk to palak paneer)A healthy lifestyle can both slow down biological aging and enhance your quality of life. Unhealthy lifestyle choices can accelerate the process of biological aging. But ageing can be reversed by adopting specific lifestyle changes, such as getting up earlier and developing better sleep habits, finding stress-reduction techniques like yoga, meditation, or engaging in a favorite activity, abstaining from alcohol and tobacco, exercising frequently, and maintaining a diet high in nutrients.INGREDIENTS THAT SPEED UP AGEING It is a well-established fact that eating certain foods can hasten the aging process. Here's the lowdown on nine culprits—from fine lines and wrinkles to sagging skin—that you might want to reconsider overindulging in too frequently. Moderation is crucial, as nutritionist Minacshi Pettukola writes in a new Instagram post. "Too frequently, keywords are the key. 1. White Bread: White bread, which is made from refined grains, has a high glycemic index and can cause blood sugar spikes that can accelerate aging and cause glycation. 2. Alcohol: Drinking too much alcohol can cause the skin to become dehydrated, rob it of essential nutrients, and cause wrinkles and fine lines to appear earlier than they should. 3. Trans fats: Fried meals, or trans fats, can aggravate oxidative stress and inflammation, which can hasten the aging of the skin and body. 4. Margarine: Skin may become more susceptible to UV rays because of the high concentration of partially hydrogenated oils in it. They may also damage your skin's moisture barriers. 5. Pastries: Although they might be tasty, pastries are frequently loaded with unhealthy fats and refined sugars, which can encourage glycation, a process that weakens collagen and elastin and causes drooping.

Ashokan, the president of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), over Patanjali's alleged derogatory remarks about the Supreme Court, which prompted Patanjali to file a contempt plea. After a huge debut, the share price of Indigene plummets 12%. Purchase, sell, or hold?
Current state of the stock market: The price of Indigene shares listed at a hefty premium on the BSE and NSE, notwithstanding weakness across Dalal Street segments. The price of one Indigene share is ₹659.70 on the BSE, while the share is listed at ₹655 on the NSE. Profit-booking, which occurred shortly after the share debut, caused the stock to drop sharply against the listing price, with the NSE and BSE seeing intraday lows of ₹527.10 and ₹527.80, respectively. As a result, the stock was unable to maintain the greater premium. Nonetheless, there was a slight recovery and reduction in losses for the recently listed shares. As of right now, the NSE is quoting Indegene shares at ₹600 apiece, which is around 9% less than the listing price.Prashanth Tapse, AVP of Research at Mehta Equities, commented on the Indegene share price listing: "Taking into account the robust subscription demand and a healthy listing gain as per our expectations against the issue price of ₹452 per share." Because of its near monopoly in providing services specifically designed for the life sciences sector and its in-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical marketing, clinical trials, pharmacovigilance, medical and regulatory affairs, and health informatics—all of which benefit its clientele throughout the value chain—we think the company's healthy listing is warranted."Purchase, sell, or hang onto? The professional guidance from Mehta Equities is evident for the Indegene share allottees upon listing. "Post-listing, we see the valuations are getting stretched and considering market selloff mood and other parameters, we are recommending conservative investors to book profits, while risk-taking investors can continue holding for long term." This advice is essential for making wise investing choices.A smart go-to-market approach is anticipated to propel Indegene's operational performance forward. It is recommended that investors who have been allotted shares hold them for medium- to long-term gains due to their solid financial track record and fair valuation.Investors are reassured by Pace 360's Chief Global Strategist and Co-Founder Amit Goel about Indegene Limited's distinct position in the market. "Indegene Limited is a distinctive participant in the Life Science Industry, providing digitally guided commercialization services. Its virtual monopoly accounts for more than 98% of its total income worldwide. Considering the favorable outlook following profit-booking, investors could want to allocate funds for medium- to long-term gains." The company's future prospects should be bolstered by this unique position.
