The Possible creator explains to The Drum why he wants to make the popular event into marketing's equivalent of Davos rather than a CES or Cannes clone.Christian Muche appeared to be a Miami native. Wearing a flamingo-pink suit from head to toe, he could have easily passed for the owner of the South Beach tequila empire as he strode around the Fontainebleau like a guy who understands exactly what he's built. However, Muche is here to promote a fresh idea for event promotion, not to sell alcohol.Possible, the show he started at the end of the pandemic, has grown to become one of the most talked-about events on the industry calendar in just three years. CMOs, internet innovators, media moguls, and platform giants are drawn to it because of its sun-drenched Miami Beach setting. Furthermore, Muche made it clear this year that this is something completely different from CES and Cannes. He told The Drum, "I hope Possible becomes the Davos of the marketing world. " We had never heard that before, and it seemed like a significant change from how the event has been positioned up to this point. Because of the lush landscaping, well-known speakers, and brand events, it was dubbed the "Cannes of the US." He remarked, "Davos brings together the biggest decision-makers from industry, science, and politics." "The same is required for marketing."Muche has an impressive record and is the kind of guy you usually listen to. With more than 60,000 participants and 1,200 exhibitors, he co-founded Dmexco in Germany in 2008 and helped it grow into one of the biggest marketing trade exhibitions globally. He started it in New Zealand, where he relocated after Yahoo in search of a more tranquil life for his family. But the desire to construct came back. He claims, "I told my wife I was doing something new three months after moving." In Germany, it's Dmexco. It caught her off guard.

Reality check or cookie delay? How prepared is the adtech industry for a future where privacy comes first?

Google's current task is to make the Privacy Sandbox actually useful by improving its APIs, coordinating with authorities, and assisting the sector in implementing it without sacrificing efficiency. This change isn't only Google's, though. The entire ad tech ecosystem is being forced to shift as privacy becomes a brand requirement. The cookie delay draws attention to a more pressing need: creating advertising models that are sensitive to privacy. That entails adopting clean rooms for secure data sharing, investing in first-party data, and embracing contextual targeting. Not only is it time to phase out cookies, but it's also time to rethink digital advertising in a way that emphasizes openness, trust, and moral innovation. Though slower, more intricate, and more cooperative than anyone initially anticipated, the future is nonetheless coming. According to Sindhu Biswal, CEO & Founder of Buzzlab, Google put the ecosystem on hold because it isn't ready, not because it changed its intentions. According to him, eliminating third-party cookies may seem like a good idea in theory, but in reality, it would be like abruptly stopping a moving train without alerting the occupants. For targeting, measurement, and attribution, the ad tech sector still heavily relies on cookies, particularly outside of walled gardens. This delay essentially indicates that, at least not just yet, Google cannot afford to destroy the system it helped create. Publishers need to be monetized, advertisers still want responsibility, and alternatives like Topics API and Privacy Sandbox don't offer the same degree of control or accuracy. This is more of a reality check than a reprieve for the larger ad tech community.

Doctors express an urgent warning that reels are now causing eye issues after "brain rot."

All age groups, but mainly children and young adults, are experiencing an increase in eye diseases as a result of excessive screen use, especially binge-watching reels on social media sites.Following worries about the effect of short-form films on mental health, medical professionals are now sounding the alarm about a brand-new, rapidly developing issue: "reel-induced eye damage."Across all age groups, excessive screen time—especially binge-watching reels on social media sites like Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok—is contributing to an increase in eye diseases, particularly in children and young adults. Leading ophthalmologists discussed this at the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology and All India Ophthalmological Society's ongoing Joint Meeting, which took place Tuesday at the Yashobhoomi-India International Convention and Expo Centre.Dr. Lalit Verma, president of the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) 2025 Congress, spoke sternly about the "silent epidemic of digital eye strain" brought on by prolonged screen time. "We are seeing a sharp increase in cases of dry eye syndrome, myopia progression, eye strain, and even early-onset squinting, especially in children who spend hours watching reels," he stated. "We recently had a student who came in complaining of blurred vision and ongoing eye irritation. Upon inspection, we discovered that his eyes were not shedding enough tears as a result of spending too much time at home viewing reels on a screen. He was given eye drops right away, and the doctor told him to observe the 20-20-20 rule, which calls for looking at anything 20 feet away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes. The president of the All India Ophthalmological Society and chairman of the organizing committee, Dr. Harbansh Lal, described the gravity of the situation.

According to Instagram, rubbing raw ginger can help clear up acne. Are dermatologists in agreement?

Another day, another Instagram beauty tip that has gone viral. You surely have a feed full of skincare tips on how to treat acne if you have it, like I do. Social media is using natural components from your kitchen, such as flax seeds for "botox" and raw garlic. This time, raw ginger is the focus, as influencers assert that applying it topically can help eradicate acne. It seems like a simple solution to acne, doesn't it?Innumerable videos of Indian skinfluencers with radiant skin can be found online these days, stating that the key isn't pricey facials but rather applying raw ginger directly to acne outbreaks to treat them right away. But is this spicy suggestion really supported by any science? To find out if this pattern is reliable, let's take a closer look and get some professional guidance. What are the opinions of experts? First, let's get this out of the way. Anything is not necessarily beneficial to your skin just because it is natural. particularly when used undiluted and raw. Senior consultant dermatologist Dr. Gulhima Arora of Mehektagul Dermaclinic states that ginger has only been indirectly shown to be effective in treating acne in scientific studies. It shouldn't be regarded as the primary or first line of treatment. She emphasizes that acne is a complex condition and that not all of its triggers can be addressed by a single spice.Dermatologist and Kaya Limited medical advisor Dr. Saranya B concurs, saying that using raw ginger to the face is not a clinically validated method of treating acne. Despite its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory qualities, direct application may irritate skin. According to Skin Smart Solutions' founder and principal dermatologist, Dr. Bindu Sthalekar, "there is no scientific proof that applying raw ginger topically treats acne." Theoretically, it might be beneficial, but only if taken in conjunction with other drugs and with good tolerance.

Axar Patel leads DC to a decisive victory over Rishabh Pant's LSG on a night that contrasts for the captains.

Returning to Lucknow for the first time since his unsatisfactory dismissal from the team, KL Rahul ended the game with a spectacular six to go undefeated in a run-chase with a 42-ball 57.On a night full of stories at Lucknow's Ekana Stadium, the Delhi Capitals won by 8 wickets in a 160-run chase, solidifying their status as this season's title contenders. KL Rahul, who is making his first appearance in Lucknow after his unsatisfactory dismissal from the team, ended the game with a spectacular six to go undefeated in a run chase with a 42-ball 57. In the twelfth over of their respective innings, LSG and DC both lost their second wicket. Axar Patel entered when a composed Abishek Porel collapsed. At this point, DC was only under a little pressure to take a few wickets, but it might have grown complicated because new batters take time to get comfortable. With two sixes over the midwicket zone, his favorite hit against spin, Axar took out Ravi Bishnoi in the very next over after Avesh Khan had dismissed him after four dot balls. In the following over, facing Avesh once more after being outscored by a few deliveries, he decided to take a chance and hit a four to try to clear the fielder at mid-off. The most impressive stroke came from Shardul Thakur, who took up a not-so-short ball with the weight still on his backfoot and sent it over long on for a six.

Nitish Rana on RR not selecting him for Super Over against DC despite 51 off 28: "One person never takes the call."

Despite hitting 51 off 28 balls against the Delhi Capitals, Nitish Rana was left out of the Super Over lineup as the Rajasthan Royals entered with Hetmyer and Riyan Parag.Nitish Rana remained in the middle until the 18th over of the chase after smashing 51 off 28 balls. At the Arun Jaitely Stadium in New Delhi on Wednesday, the Rajasthan Royals sent neither batsman to bat despite Yashasvi Jaiswal's 51 off 37 balls in the Super Over against the Delhi Capitals. Eyes were rolling when Shimron Hetmyer and Riyan Parag came out to bat in the Super Over. Rana wasn't even on the list of the three batters for the Super Over, but Jaiswal was chosen to bat following a wicket fall.RR's choice proved to be a poor one as Mitchell Starc of DC cramped the Hetmyer for space with yorkers and the reverse swing, allowing him to begin the Super Over with a dot ball. The Australian bowler was hit for four after missing his mark on the next delivery, but he recovered with another low full toss in the third ball. A single was taken by Hetmyer.Starc's low full toss was hit by Riyan Parag over third man for a boundary, sometimes known as a no-ball. After it appeared that RR would easily reach 15 with three balls left, the game took yet another sharp turn. RR was bowled out for just 11 as Parag and Jaiswal were ran out in the following ball.KL Rahul and Tristian Stubbs smash two sixes in the first three balls of Sandeep Sharma's Super Over to give DC a historic victory, so the total was insufficient. Following the game, Nitish Rana stated that the decision to send Riyan Parag and Shimron Hetmyer instead of him for the Super Over was made by the RR management. Rana said he didn't have an alternative response, adding that if Hetmyer had hit a couple of sixes in the Super Over, the questions would have been different."The call is answered by management, not a single individual. Along with two other senior players and coaches, the captain is present. You wouldn't be asking this question if Shimron Hetmyer had hit two sixes. I'll respond with the same response. I have no other response. Every choice we made was the right one. Everyone knows that Hetmyer is our finisher. During the press conference, Rana stated, "He has previously delivered."

India's bold strategy aids in a quick T20 reconstruction

The world champions are creating an environment where players perform well without worrying about keeping their spots in the squad or taking wickets.Kolkata: Although it's early, the process and outcomes give hope that India would successfully defend the T20 World Cup at home the following year. Despite the pessimism caused by the Test and ODI transition issues, India's T20 trajectory stands out thanks to series victories against South Africa, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, and now England. Even more so when one considers that Kuldeep Yadav, Shubman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, and Yashasvi Jaiswal have not been parachuted in.This is most likely a greater accomplishment. However, they have approached it virtually undetected. No culture of stars. Verify. No set order for batting. Verify. Just a group of young, talented, and incredibly self-assured cricket players going about their business without worrying about career curves. By the way, all IPL linchpins.Captain Suryakumar Yadav acknowledges his lack of quality as he is left off the Champions Trophy roster. Abhishek Sharma thinks a ball is there to be struck, hence he doesn't count returns. As long as Tilak Varma is at the crease, the second Twenty20 match in Chennai demonstrated that no equation is too difficult. And the fact that India lost to 12/3 and then 79/5 at Pune on Friday, yet still managed to score 181, demonstrated that the previous game's disaster chasing in Rajkot was really a fluke. The realization that not everything can be managed lies at the core of this long-term upsurge. Earlier this week, Sitanshu Kotak, India's new batting coach, said it. "To achieve a score of 200 or 225, and if you are

Exclusive: As the BJP seeks caste balance in the AIADMK alliance, Annamalai may resign as TN chairman.

"Delhi sees a bright future for him," the youthful Annamalai, whose assertive position on issues has given the BJP publicity in Tamil Nadu, if not political success thus far, was informed. As coalition negotiations between the parties pick up steam, K Annamalai, who is regarded as a major factor in the 2023 split between the AIADMK and BJP, may resign as head of the BJP Tamil Nadu. However, according to BJP sources, caste equations will be the reason rather than "punishment." The BJP does not want a Gounder to represent both the party and the AIADMK in the 2026 state elections if the parties run together. Edappadi K. Palaniswami, the leader of the AIADMK, shares Annamalai's heritage as a member of the powerful backward community and the Gounder-dominated western Kongu region. According to BJP insiders, the first official moves for a reconciliation between the BJP and AIADMK were taken when Annamalai met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi shortly after Shah's meeting with Palaniswami."Delhi sees a bright future for him," the youthful Annamalai, whose combative approach to issues has given the BJP visibility in Tamil Nadu, if not political success thus far, was told. The leadership responded by saying that Annamalai was expected to trust the party and adhere to its strategy. It is thought that Annamalai declared her total allegiance to the party. According to a top BJP leader, "he expressed that he has no regrets about his dedication to the party and is even willing to work as a mere cadre." "Annamalai remains a key figure in the party's long-term strategy for Tamil Nadu, whether or not he leaves his position as state president," stated another politician. It is unclear if he will assume a national function or a different state job.

Why Gujarat was the subject of the first special resolution at the AICC session before the 2027 elections

The resolution lays out a plan for the Congress's 30-year absence from power in Gujarat, including resurrecting the organization, promising a caste census, and taking Gandhi and Sardar Patel's lead. Two days after the All India Congress Committee (AICC) session in Ahmedabad concluded with the passing of a Gujarat-specific special resolution outlining the party's agenda for the 2027 Assembly elections, Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge sent a video message to Gujarati partymen saying, "Aap gharon se bahar nikaliye, badlav aapki pratiksha mein hai (Step out of your homes, change is waiting for you). "Kharge added that Ahmedabad's hosting of the first AICC session in the state since 1961 and an extended Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting at Sardar Patel Smarak in Shahibaug on the banks of the Sabarmati river on April 8–9 "proved" his party's "active and combative" organization in Gujarat, where it has been out of power for roughly 30 years.Despite being pumped up, Congress leaders expressed doubts about the cadres' ability to stay motivated until the elections, especially party veterans and young leaders. In a sudden move, the party leadership on Saturday designated one AICC observer and four Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) observers for each of the 41 DCCs. The DCCs will convene in Modasa, Aravalli district, on Monday to supervise the appointment of DCC presidents.

Kejriwal responds to EC, says water received from Haryana 'extremely poisonous' for human health

In response to the Election Commission's notice on his allegation that the Haryana government was "mixing poison" in Yamuna, AAP president Arvind Kejriwal claimed on Wednesday that the raw water the state had lately supplied was "highly contaminated and extremely poisonous" for human health. The former chief minister of Delhi responded by stating that his comments were made in light of the city's "urgent public health crisis" regarding the quality of the city's drinking water. As part of his public duty to draw attention to the "severe toxicity and contamination" of raw water supplied from the BJP-ruled state, he said in his 14-page response to the Election Commission that the "alleged statements" ascribed to him were made.

This year, ad spending in India may increase by 8–10%, said Lalatendu Das of Publicis Media.

Mumbai: According to Publicis Media South Asia CEO Lalatendu Das, advertising expenditure (AdEx) in India is predicted to rise 8–10% in 2025, primarily due to the growth of digital media, although conventional channels like TV and print are projected to continue growing steadily. In 2025, it is anticipated that advertising spending in India would increase by 8–10%, mostly due to the growth of digital media, while TV and print will continue to grow steadily. Even if softening is anticipated in the first part of the year, cricket will continue to draw large marketing expenditure.Super Bowl Sunday is more than simply the game; it's also the greatest arena for attention-grabbing and inventive advertising. Most people sigh when they see advertisements since they actively avoid them on streaming services. The tide changes, though, when the Super Bowl arrives. To capture every moment of the recognizable advertisements, people anxiously quiet their surroundings. Beer companies are leading the way this year with Michelob Ultra, which has pickleball players like Willem Dafoe and Catherine O'Hara, and Bud Light, which offers us a delightful hangout with Post Malone. David Beckham is included by Stella Artois for a humorous twist. Super Bowl advertisements, as usual, are expected to be just as interesting as the actual game.

What kind of skincare regimen is appropriate for an Indian teen?

What kind of skincare regimen is appropriate for an Indian teen?

Teens shouldn't indulge in either of these extremes: ignoring skincare completely or oversaturating their skin with every popular skincare product. If you grew up in the 1990s, you may recall how your skincare preferences were heavily influenced by television advertisements. Products like fairness creams, "game-changing" peel-off masks, and "miraculous" face cleansers that cleared acne became popular at that time. Did your teenage skin suffer more negative effects from those products than positive ones? A lot of dermatologists would concur. In the present, a parallel tale is developing, albeit with a twist. Social media influencers have supplanted television advertisements by promoting new products virtually every day.For example, 14-year-old Delhi student Kabeer Kanojia discovered salicylic acid on Instagram instead of in a chemistry lesson. He is eager to purchase salicylic acid and a popular charcoal mask to treat his acne, but he is now unable to do so due to a lack of funds.

Without taking any medication, the Bengaluru traffic cop managed to lower his elevated blood pressure: Which lifestyle, fitness, and diet tips are effective?

Let me tell you about a Bengaluru traffic policeman who came to see me with a high blood pressure reading of 160/100 mm Hg (the first number is systolic pressure, which is the force of the blood when it is pumped out of the heart, and the second number is diastolic, which is measured between heartbeats when the heart is filling with blood) A healthy systolic blood pressure is less than 120 mm Hg and diastolic is less than 80 mm Hg. Yet he seemed normal. He informed me that while he was on duty, controlling the city's tumultuous traffic, his blood pressure would rise. He had fluctuating blood pressure, though, as his blood pressure would return to normal when he was not on duty. I discovered that he was overweight, had erratic eating habits, and had trouble sleeping. Simply put, his stress levels and physical ailments caused his blood pressure to rise. Many of you ask me if you should begin taking medicine as soon as your high blood pressure is diagnosed. Doctors advise changing one's lifestyle first, unless there is an urgent condition with significant complications. If you are successful, you might not need to be drug dependant at all, which makes this period extremely important. Our traffic cop gotLose weight: He lost around 5 kg of body weight and saw his readings improve.  Blood pressure goes down by 1 mm Hg with each kilogram. Also, the size of the waistline matters as carrying too much weight around the middle can raise the risk of high blood pressure. For men, the waistline circumference should not go over 90 cm and for women 80 cm.

Pebble will revive smart wearables using e-ink.

The Pebble smartwatch is coming back, revealed Eric Migicovsky, founder of the company. The wearables, once popular for their e-ink displays and long battery life, will once again be powered by PebbleOS, which was made an open-source project by Google. In an impassioned open letter, the founder expressed his wish to reintroduce a smartwatch with critical functionality, saying he has tried "every single smartwatch available," but none of them have all the characteristics he wants.a constantly-on, sunlight-readable, glanceable, and non-distracting electronic paper screen that is reflecting rather than emissive; long battery life to eliminate the need for additional wires when traveling and charge one item at a time; For frequently used functionality like telling the time, alerts, music control, alarms, weather, calendar, and sleep/step tracking, a straightforward and elegant user interface is ideal; Hackable buttons to play, pause, and skip music without turning to face the screen. According to Migicovsky, Pebble has more than 16,000 watch faces available in its app store, but Apple does not permit users to create their own. The source code for PebbleOS is now accessible online thanks to Google, the Fitbit owner that purchased Pebble's intellectual property. In light of this, the founder is putting together a small group of people who are committed to creating a long-term solution. While keeping the same features and specifications, he urges the group to "continue designing exciting gadgets" and add some fun new choices.

India 'will do what's right' on illegal immigration, according to Trump

After speaking with Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the phone, US President Donald Trump declared that India "will do what's right" when it comes to the expulsion of illegal migrants. The leaders' first meeting since Trump's inauguration last week took place on Monday. They had what the White House called a "productive call" where they talked about trade, immigration, and security problems.Following the chat, Trump informed reporters that Modi would probably come to the US "sometime in February".Trump has issued several executive orders pertaining to immigration since taking office on January 20, opening the door for a broad campaign to target unauthorized immigrants in the US. The Pew Research Center estimates that as of 2024, there would be 725,000 undocumented Indian immigrants in the United States. India's foreign ministry stated last week that Delhi would accept Indians who were overstaying "anywhere in the world" provided their nationality was confirmed and their documents were submitted.According to the ministry, Trump and Modi talked about the bilateral relationship "including in the areas of technology, trade, investment, energy, and defense" during their phone conversation on Monday. The two presidents also talked about European, Middle Eastern, and Indo-Pacific security. Trump emphasized the significance of India expanding its purchases of US-made security equipment and pursuing a "fair" bilateral commercial relationship, according to a White House statement. Modi referred to Trump as a "dear friend" and stated that they were "committed to a mutually beneficial and trusted partnership" in a post on X (previously Twitter). According to the White House, both leaders reaffirmed their dedication to strengthening the Indo-Pacific Quad alliance, which also includes Australia and Japan, as well as their nations' strategic partnership. Later this year, India will host the Quad leaders for the first time. Between 2017 until 2021, when the US president was in his first term, Modi and Trump had friendly relations. However, the Trump administration and India were engaged in a sour tariff war that had an impact on companies on both sides. India's foreign minister, S Jaishankar, stated in November after Trump's election victory that the nation was not anxious about collaborating with the US president.Last year, Trump referred to Modi as a "great leader" but also charged that India was imposing exorbitant tariffs. It would be intriguing to see if the two countries' camaraderie can allay worries about immigration and commerce, according to analysts.

An officer explained the decision to have the meeting on February 14 by stating that the Union Budget is set for February 12–13 and that Delhi's code of conduct is in effect till February 9.In an effort to break the deadlock over the farmers' protest, the Center on Saturday urged farmers to discuss their demands at talks next month. Around midnight, their leader, Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who has been fasting till death since November 26 of last year, consented to receive medical assistance and received a drip. The breakthrough occurred following a meeting between Dallewal and leaders of his Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) by a delegation of Union Agriculture Ministry officials led by Joint Secretary Priya Ranjan.Priya Ranjan read out a proposal after the meeting, asking Dallewal to call off his hunger strike and calling farmer leaders to a meeting at the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Public Administration in Sector 26, Chandigarh, on February 14 at 5 p.m. Dallewal and Sarwan Singh Pandher, the coordinators of SKM (NP) and KMM, were the recipients of the invitation."We have serious concerns over Dallewalji's health. The Union Ministry of Agriculture has invited Union Ministers and Punjab Cabinet Ministers to engage in discussions following meetings with Dallewalji and the leaders of both forums. According to Priya Ranjan, this will be a follow-up to the February 2024 meetings.

Were you aware? This luggage color may jeopardize your trip arrangements.

Considering purchasing a new suitcase for your upcoming trip? Hold on! You may want to think twice about the hue you have chosen, or you may want to make an informed purchase. This is due to the fact that almost 40% of bags bought worldwide are black, which makes them infamously challenging to spot on baggage carousels, according to an Eminent poll.Jamie Frazer, a travel expert from the US summer camp Wild Packs, discusses why black luggage isn't the ideal choice in this aspect. He claims that while hard-sided black suitcases are the most prevalent worldwide, they are the most difficult to spot and are also the most likely to disappear. "You don't want your lost bag to be mistaken for the innumerable others. "So, what should you do? To make your luggage stand out, Frazer suggests picking luggage with vibrant or distinctive markings. On baggage carousels, colorful suitcases are much easier to see amidst the sea of dark. He suggests affixing identifying indicators, such bright luggage tags, stickers, or patterned straps, to those attached to their black suitcases so that they may be clearly identified.Frazer suggests the following steps to reduce the likelihood that your suitcase will be misplaced or lost: 1. Arrive early: Checking in your luggage well in advance allows airline employees enough time to properly tag and load it. 2. Use secure luggage tags: Put your name, phone number, and email address on a clear, long-lasting tag. For safety concerns, do not include your home address. 3. Customize your bag: To make your bag stand out from the others, consider adding vibrant ribbons or hand-made posters.

Is the son of Nitish Kumar going into politics? After Holi, JD(U) leaders said, "He seems to be ready."

JD(U) leaders had hinted at Nishant Kumar's formal joining of the party since his infrequent public appearance earlier this month. According to a senior authority, all that is needed is his father's final approval.Over the years, Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal (United) supremo Nitish Kumar has frequently criticized dynastic politics. One of his primary grievances against the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is that they "promoted only family." Additionally, Kumar would frequently claim that "Bihar was his family."Ahead of the Assembly elections, however, the JD(U) may now be preparing to accept a political heir. After Holi, Kumar's son Nishant Kumar is expected to get involved in politics, according to JD(U) insiders who spoke to The Indian Express. He appears prepared to enter politics. A JD(U) source close to the chief minister stated, "It is just about getting the go-ahead from Nitish Kumar." According to the source, Kumar was made aware of the "increasing demand from party workers" over Nishant, 48, who has so far stayed in the background, went to Bakhtiyarpur with his father on January 8 to unveil statues of liberation warriors.
