EC requires pre-certification on all platforms and tightens regulations on digital ads ahead of state elections.
With the announcement of the Assembly election schedule for Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Puducherry, as well as by-elections in six states, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has implemented a more comprehensive regulatory framework to control political advertising, emphasizing digital platforms, transparency, and the control of misinformation.A pre-certification requirement for all political advertisements in electronic and online media is at the heart of the directive. The action is a reflection of the Commission's effort to stay up with the quickly changing political landscape, where voter perception is now significantly shaped by social media amplification and digital outreach. Before distributing commercials, all political parties, candidates, and affiliated organizations must first receive approval from the Media Certification and Monitoring Committees (MCMCs), according to the new regulations. This holds true for a variety of digital channels, such as social media platforms, e-papers, bulk SMS, voice messaging, and public audio-visual displays, in addition to more conventional electronic media like radio and television. While recognized political parties can apply for certification through state-level committees, candidates and individuals must apply to district-level MCMCs. To examine disputed rulings, an appeals process has also been established, with each state's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) serving as its head. The Commission has effectively extended regulatory authority deep into the digital ecosystem by making it plain that no political advertisement may be published or distributed on internet-based platforms without prior approval. In addition to certification, MCMCs have been assigned to monitor suspected "paid news" situations more closely, which has long been a problem in Indian elections. When content is discovered to be promotional but presented as editorial, the committees are supposed to keep a careful eye on media outputs and take appropriate action. Candidates are now required to disclose all official social media accounts in their nomination papers as part of a concurrent push for transparency. In online campaigning, where unofficial or proxy accounts have frequently been used to reinforce narratives without credit, this rule aims to ensure traceability and responsibility.

IPL 2026 Cultural Toolkit for Brands Folk Frequency Releases
BARC India and Nielsen have jointly announced the launch of BARC | Nielsen ONE Ads, a first-of-its-kind cross-media advertising measurement solution that combines digital and linear television data into a single, unified framework, marking a significant milestone for the Indian advertising sector. The absence of a unified, single-source view of campaign effectiveness across screens is a persistent problem in the advertising ecosystem that the new approach seeks to solve. In order to maximize media spending, marketers and agencies need more integrated measuring solutions as media consumption continues to split across platforms and devices.BARC | Nielsen ONE Ads integrates Nielsen ONE Ads' digital measuring capabilities with BARC's linear television viewership statistics. Advertisers can assess actual campaign reach and frequency across the whole media landscape thanks to the platform's deduplicated view of audiences across various screens, including Linear TV, Connected TV (CTV), Mobile, and Computer/Desktop. JioHotstar will be the first platform to use the framework, starting with the ICC Men's T20 World Cup India & Sri Lanka 2026. The partnership is a major step toward measuring premium internet and television content across platforms. Further industry-wide cross-screen coverage may be possible in the future with further involvement from other broadcasters.

How CTV can prevent repeating the ad errors of linear TV for living room monetization
Connected TV live sports are about to enter a crucial period of recalibration. The medium is plagued by an old broadcast reflex: more advertisements equal more money, despite its promises of scale, accuracy, and living-room supremacy. A fundamental concern for the ecosystem is raised by the growing need to profit from every stop as live matches draw enormous concurrent audiences. To what extent can ad loads be increased before fandom becomes transactional and viewer immersion breaks down? Tolerance is a delicate currency in an environment where control and choice are paramount. This unique research explores what sustainability actually means during live sports by bringing together voices from the CTV, ad-tech, platform, and agency sectors. Beyond simple inventory counts, topics like experience design, temporal intelligence, creative ecosystems, and attention economics are covered. The emphasis is on creating a model where monetization does not come at the expense of loyalty, taking into account factors like the unpredictable nature of live broadcasts and the potential to increase interaction after the final whistle. The fundamental conflict is obvious: how well the ecosystem learns to use the screen, rather than how much advertising it can accommodate, will determine the direction of CTV sports in the future.

What is the reason behind Punjab Governor Kataria's abrupt praise of the Bhagwant Mann government in contrast to cooperation
The Punjab Assembly's budget session began earlier this week when Governor Gulab Chand Kataria gave a speech that mainly commended the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government's performance, despite opposition protests interfering with Assembly business and the governor's own anti-drug march weeks prior continuing to garner political attention. In sharp contrast to his predecessor, Banwarilal Purohit, who had multiple run-ins with the Punjab government, Kataria praises the initiatives of the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP government. The government drafts the governor's address, which summarizes their accomplishments.Governors Thaawar Chand Gehlot and R N Ravi, who has since been named governor of West Bengal, have recently omitted portions of their speeches that commended the state governments in states like Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, where the governors are perceived to have a tumultuous relationship with the state government.Mann's AAP government and Purohit had a number of issues between 2022 and 2024. One such disagreement occurred in early 2023 when the Governor first refused to approve the Budget session, which forced the state government to petition the Supreme Court. However, Kataria's 51-page speech on March 6 detailed the state government's efforts in a number of areas, including welfare programs, infrastructure development, healthcare, education, and anti-drug campaigns. The extension of Aam Aadmi Clinics throughout the state was one of the efforts that were emphasized. According to the governor, hundreds of clinics are currently in operation and have given locals crores of free consultations and medications. The speech also mentioned the government's "Yudh Nashean Virudh" anti-drug program, which includes outpatient opioid-assisted treatment clinics and de-addiction centers for drug addicts' rehabilitation. In order to improve government education, Kataria mentioned hiring thousands of instructors and creating Schools of Eminence. The address also mentioned road infrastructure upgrades, irrigation facilities, 300 units of free power for the majority of homes, and farmer welfare programs including increased sugarcane prices.Leader of the Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa and other Congress lawmakers frequently interrupted the speech by shouting slogans about things like law and order. Assuring the lawmakers that they could voice their objections during the discussion later, Kataria pleaded with them to let him finish the constitutional address first. Congress MLAs eventually organized a walkout as the protests persisted. Following the speech, the Governor spoke at a joint press conference with Mann, praising the Punjab government's efforts to combat drug misuse and enhance education. According to him, the Opposition ought to have let the speech end before voicing its opinions in the House so that their complaints could be legally documented.

Unauthorized reviews, dubious log-ins, and fuzzy documents: TMC MP to Supreme Court on SIR
TMC MP Dola Sen told the Supreme Court that Election Commission-appointed micro-observers were allegedly overriding decisions made by Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), the statutory authority for including and deleting electors, raising concerns that eligible voters could be removed from the final electoral roll during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in West Bengal. In two applications filed on February 16 and 18, Sen, a petitioner before the Supreme Court contesting the SIR, also claimed that documents uploaded to the system were becoming "blurry" after submission and that officials were allegedly logging into the ECINET portal from locations other than where they were deputed. On February 28, West Bengal's final electoral roll is expected to be released. The Indian Express asked the EC for comment on Sen's claims, but the EC did not reply. The EC only deployed micro-observers in West Bengal, which was a first, despite announcing the SIR in nine states and three Union Territories on October 27 of last year. The EC informed the Supreme Court on February 4 that the purpose of the 8,100 micro-observers, who work for the Central Government, was to support EROs and Assistant EROs (AEROs). The EC had stated, "It is false to suggest that statutory powers have been vested in the micro-observers."

India displays its entire armed might on the 77th Republic Day, with Operation Sindoor taking front stage on the Kartavya Path.

About 10,000 distinguished guests saw the parade, which combined military might with cultural cohesion. At its 77th Republic Day parade on Monday, January 26, 2026, India put military might front and centre. Kartavya Path was transformed into a sweeping display of missiles, armour, mechanised columns, and combat aircraft, with a keen focus on weapon systems related to Operation Sindoor, the high-intensity military operation carried out in May of last year. The BrahMos supersonic cruise missile, Akash air defence system, Suryastra rocket launcher, and Arjun Main Battle Tank were among the major armament systems on exhibit at the start of the military demonstration, which emphasised India's focus on battlefield readiness and domestic defence manufacturing. A large portion of the equipment on exhibit was either used in Operation Sindoor, the confrontation with Pakistan that took place from May 7–10, or it was directly inspired by lessons learnt.A tri-services tableau featuring replicas of key weapon systems used during the operation was a big draw. A glass-cased integrated operational command centre served as its focal point, providing a visual representation of Operation Sindoor's execution through the coordinated use of systems including the S-400 air defence system and BrahMos. Akash and S-400 systems were depicted as offering a protective air-defense shield during the fight, while BrahMos missiles were predicted to perform decisive offensive attacks.Lt. General Bhavnish Kumar, a second-generation officer and General Officer Commanding, Delhi Area, led the procession. The Indian Army demonstrated a phased "Battle Array Format," including its airborne component, for the first time. The reconnaissance element included high-mobility reconnaissance vehicles after the historic 61 Cavalry in active battle uniform. Strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties can be found in ginger. However, what would happen if a person chewed a piece of ginger every day for sixty days? When we asked Dr. Amreen Sheikh, chief nutritionist at KIMS Hospitals, Thane, about it, he replied that it increases circulation, relaxes the airways, and progressively lessens throat inflammation. Many patients report decreased bloating, improved digestion, and fewer coughs after six to eight weeks. Ginger can ease the inner lining of the airways and provide general lung comfort for people who are susceptible to seasonal respiratory symptoms, according to Sheikh.Yes, but with reasonable expectations, Sheikh argued. Unlike medication, ginger does not "open the lungs." Rather, it operates subtly. It can aid those who frequently experience irritation from pollutants, relieve moderate wheezing from cold weather, and clear congestion in the throat. Additionally, by loosening mucus, its warming impact facilitates its expulsion during an illness. Ginger can help with long-term lung conditions like COPD or asthma, but it should never take the place of prescription medication, Sheikh said. While using ginger on a daily basis is generally safe, Sheikh pointed out that excessive use can cause oral irritation, cause acidity in those who are sensitive, or slightly thin the blood. Before developing a habit, people who take blood thinners or have gastritis or acid reflux should speak with a doctor. A tiny portion is more than sufficient; moderation is crucial," Sheikh stated.

Cough syrup deaths: TNFDA probe reveals Coldrif manufacturer's shortcomings
According to CDSCO sources, the investigation into the Kanchipuram-based Coldrif cough syrup producer, which was connected to child fatalities in Madhya Pradesh, has shown shortcomings in the Tamil Nadu Food and Drug Administration's enforcement of fundamental regulatory standards. They said that Sresan Pharma, which was granted a license by the Tamil Nadu Food and Drug Administration (TNFDA) in 2011, carried on operating undetected for more than ten years in spite of its inadequate infrastructure and many infractions of national drug safety regulations.According to the sources, a recent examination by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) revealed the unit's terrible conditions and complete disregard for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). "The CDSCO has not participated in any of Sresan Pharma's audits. This company was not included in any of the CDSCO databases since the CDSCO was not involved and the state FDA did not provide the CDSCO with any information on it, according to a source.Rule 84AB of the D and C Rules mandates that manufacturers update all of their certified items on the "Sugam" site, according to another source at the CDSCO.In order to facilitate improved monitoring, the regulation was notified to create a national database of all the authorized items in the nation. Why it's never a good idea to do a DIY chemical peel
People all over the world are enamored with the idea of having flawlessly clear skin, whether they have glazed or glass skin. They are using expert treatments, such as wine baths and salmon sperm facials, in addition to skincare and makeup to reach their goals. In recent years, chemical peels have been increasingly popular among these. However, as members of the social media generation, it appears like there is a do-it-yourself solution for practically anything. By combining various acids, many people have even begun trying chemical peels at home.Even while your nani-dadi ke nuskhe were safe enough to try at home, trying a chemical peel is a very different matter and might cause significant skin damage. But first, comprehend...According to Dr. Ruben Bhasin Passi, dermatology consultant at CK Birla Hospital in Gurugram, "Chemical peels are skin treatments that use acid-based solutions to exfoliate the outer layers of the skin," India Today reports. According to her, these treatments function by encouraging cell turnover, breaking down dead skin cells, and boosting the creation of collagen.Peels can treat problems like acne, hyperpigmentation, fine wrinkles, and uneven texture, depending on their strength (light, medium, or deep). "While deeper peels like trichloroacetic acid penetrate deeper for more dramatic results, light peels like alpha-hydroxy acids target the epidermis," Dr. Passi continues.Additionally, according to Dr. Shifa Yadav, dermatology and cosmetology consultant at Artemis Hospitals in Gurugram, this procedure aids in the skin's regeneration of new, healthier cells, giving it a smoother, more even complexion. It is frequently used in skin care clinics to improve the appearance and feel of skin, but in order to prevent irritation or injury, it must be applied and maintained properly.Even though experimenting with at-home hacks can be enjoyable, practical, and even economical, it's crucial to keep in mind that not all conditions can be safely treated using do-it-yourself methods. To prevent long-term damage, certain beauty procedures—particularly those involving potent chemicals—require professional knowledge and expertise.According to Dr. Vidushi Jain, medical head of Dermalinks in Delhi-NCR, homemade peels frequently employ the incorrect acid concentrations without taking the safety of the skin into account. They lack the professional followup that such procedures require, which can lead to burns, infections, uneven pigmentation, and delayed healing. "Many kits have strong acids like TCA or glycolic acid that can harm the skin," says Dr. Yadav.

Bihar Catch-22 Congress and RJD are hesitant to take action against MLAs who did not participate in Rajya Sabha elections
Both parties are currently in a difficult situation after the Opposition Mahagathbandhan lost to the NDA in the pivotal Rajya Sabha elections earlier this week due to the absence of four of its MLAs, three from the Congress and one from the RJD. They are unsure of how to deal with them. Surendra Mehta (Valmiki Nagar), Manoj Vishwas (Forbesganj), and Manohar Prasad Singh (Manihari) have all received show-cause notices from the Congress, and the RJD has not yet made a decision regarding their Dhaka lawmaker Faisal Rahman.Asit Nath Tiwari, a spokesperson for the Bihar Congress, told The Indian Express that the notifications were sent out despite the fact that Rajya Sabha elections are exempt from the anti-defection law. "Top party leaders will meet and decide on the appropriate course of action after we receive their responses," he stated.Another Congress leader, however, pointed out that the MLAs make up almost half of the party's strength in the Assembly and suggested that disciplinary action was improbable. What happens if the Speaker acknowledges them as a distinct group? Regardless, the rebels weren't actually members of Congress. Singh is known to be close to JD(U) leaders, whereas Mehta received a ticket because of the influence of (Independent Purnea MP) Pappu Yadav," the politician stated.Rahman, the son of former MP Motiur Rahman, presents a similar problem for the RJD. "Faisal narrowly secured his seat in the Assembly elections last year. Additionally, we have verified that his mother was quite ill on March 16, the day of the election. The party is likely to call the MLA once our leader Tejashwi Yadav comes to Patna. An RJD senior stated that the party will not be provoked by NDA leaders "who want to further weaken it," although no official show-cause notice has yet been issued.

With ZEE5 onboard, we are confident the series will be watched by a large audience and enjoyed as well.” Producer Harshith Reddy said, ““Harish Shankar garu first came up with this idea behind ATM. He narrated us an idea about 4 youngsters who involve in petty robberies are cornered by some powerful people and made to pull off a multi-crore heist just to stay alive. Did they successfully execute the heist? Did they do it just to save their lives or do they have any ulterior motives? Will the judiciary and the society declare them guilty or innocent? There are so many such layers to the story. The idea was really exciting for us, and it has all the Harish Shankar mark elements that people love. We then needed someone who can narrate this story in the best possible way on screen and that is when Harish garu suggested Chandra Mohan’s name to us and gave him the responsibility of telling this story. We then needed the right OTT platform to have ATM on board and then Zee5 came forward to collaborate with us on this. We have been keenly observing the OTT content across India and compared it with what is happening in the Telugu OTT space. We realised that there is a window for us to come up with something that changes the way things are made here in Telugu OTT and ATM is going to be exactly that.” After multiple hits, showrunner Harish Shankar and Dil Raj productions are back with another terrific heist drama which will premiere on ZEE5 on January 20, 2023

Season 2 of Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight (January 12)
The Raid: Redemption, an Indonesian thriller, stunned moviegoers in 2011 with its almost nonstop action packed with stunts they had never seen before. It was recognized with accolades, included in multiple festivals as an official selection, and appeared on lists of the greatest action movies ever made, not just this year but ever. Only too bad nobody noticed it.Just $15 million was made worldwide by The Raid, with $4.4 million coming from the United States. Nonetheless, it acquired a following. The film received enough recognition from its accolades and positive word-of-mouth to draw the attention of Hollywood and spark discussions of an American remake. Additionally, it assured an American distribution for The Raid 2: Berandal (the Indonesian word for "thug," "berandal"), which carried on the original Indonesian tale.Raid was always going to be a trilogy, according to director Garth Evans, with each movie building on the world that was established in the first, and Berandal does just that. Berandal is a martial arts-infused crime drama, similar to Redemption, which was an action movie with a martial arts theme. While there was just one drug lord in the first movie, we meet his boss and a number of other underworld figures in Berandal. Both the magnitude and the stakes have increased.Though Berandal is not a picture for the faint of heart, there are still plenty of graphic and masterfully shot moments of violence. Ever ponder what would happen to a person if a shotgun blast was fired from only a foot away? Hopefully not, but Berandal provides the answers to that and a tonne of other gory questions. However, the action usually has nothing to do with the gore. It's mostly there for emphasis rather than extravagance, and the choreography still includes the balletic elements that made the original one stand out.All of the Redemption's successful components are kept, and many of its flaws—the majority of which have to do with plot and character development—are fixed in Berandal.Hours after the first film's climax, The Raid sequel opens with Rama (Iko Uwais) being adopted by a covert police division that needs his assistance in rooting out dishonest cops around Jakarta. Reluctantly, he goes undercover as an inmate at a nearby prison in order to protect his family. Reviews of Saindhav X: Sailesh Kolanus film has received praise for Venkatesh and Nawazuddin Siddiquis performances.
Reviews by Saindhav X: Here are the reactions of fans to Sailesh Kolanu's Venkatesh and Nawazuddin Siddiqui film, which debuted on January 13.Director Sailesh Kolanu tried his hand at a commercial potboiler with a heartfelt tale following the success of the HIT franchise. Both reviewers and audiences had differing opinions about the movie, which starred Venkatesh, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Shraddha Srinath, Ruhani Sharma, and Andrea Jeremiah. However, if reviews on X are any indication, the majority of people appear to concur that the main cast has done an excellent job.Reactions from fans Nawazuddin portrayed a vicious yet witty mobster in the movie named Vikas Malik. "Audience are in love with Nawazuddin sir's performance," wrote one fan after seeing him play. Every time he enters the scene, there's a dash of humor. He simultaneously evoked humor and dread, as Sailesh stated. "A movie with a routine plot point but set with good action sequences," commented another enthusiast. Out of all the actors, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is the most distinctive. The climax works well. The film is mediocre and worth seeing only once."#Saindhav, falls short, hindered by a lack of deep emotional setup, not so well executed action sequences and a less impactful background score except for the climax and climax portions," wrote one fan, expressing appreciation for Venkatesh's portrayal. However, #VenkyMama's moving performance in the epilogue adds a sincere touch. "#Venkatesh did his best in action and emotional scenes," a second fan commented. I loved #NawazuddinSiddiqui. (Heart emoji) was the father-daughter's emotion.Fans who had nothing good to say about the movie were frank in their criticism, writing, "Story chinnadi ainapudu danni prolong chesi teeyala anna @KolanuSailesh." Action sequences are well-planned, and the emotional parts are presented in a way that makes the spectator feel engaged and involved. #Saindhav #Venkatesh #SaindhavReview Too phony of a car scene with firearms. (There's no reason to turn a short story into a movie. While the combat moments were well done, the emotional scenes lacked impact. The scene with the automobile and weapons was overly staged.)" "Total - 320 Rupees tirigi icheyali (Give me back the ₹320 I paid for the ticket, snacks, and parking for your film)" was the jest expressed by another fan.In the fictitious port city of Chandraprastha, where Saindhav, also known as Saiko (Venkatesh), lives a happy life with his small daughter, Saindhav is situated. When she is diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), his life completely falls apart because the injection alone requires ₹17 crore, which is money he cannot afford. He is pulled back into the hazardous world of crime he left behind out of desperation to save his daughter. The director leaves us hanging by implying that we will see this character again in a follow-up.

Review of Journey Cherans online series is unsatisfactory to watch
Journey, director Cheran's OTT debut, is a web series that follows five young people as they compete for a job at a corporation. Our evaluation claims that the play is overflowing with cliched notions.Tamil director Cheran is renowned for his realistic depictions of the complexity of interpersonal interactions in his motion pictures. In 2019, he made his last directing attempt, "Thirumanam," which ultimately failed. Cheran is ready to launch his over-the-top (OTT) career after four years with "Journey," which is currently available on SonyLiv.The narrative centers on five characters who have advanced to the last round of interviews at a car company: Ameer Sultan (Kalaiyarasan), Divya Bharathi (Latha), Raghav (Prasanna), Nitesh (Kashyap Barbhaya), and Pranav (Aari Arjunan). Only one candidate will be chosen for the position, which gives a monthly salary of Rs 4 lakh, by the company's owner, Sarathkumar. Over the course of the nine-episode series, the backstories of the five candidates—each with a distinct motivation for wanting the job—come to light. The television program "Journey" centers on five distinct characters who encounter hardships in their individual lives. Because of an error he made, Nitesh is banished from his house. Latha discovers her potential when a guy mentors her in agriculture, and Pranav enters politics after becoming a social crusader. Ameer is defending himself in a case where he was wrongfully implicated in the interim. Abrupt changes in policy force Raghav, a US employee, to return home to India. The goal of the show is to investigate the concepts of oppression, emotion, struggle, and aspiration. Even though "Journey" has a genuine goal, filmmaker Cheran only performs a mediocre job at thoroughly covering the subjects. Rather, the show is overly packed with dated concepts, which makes it difficult to watch. We are reminded of the numerous movies where we are made to learn about agriculture by the scene in which Latha learns about it.It is relatable to learn about Raghav's life in the US and the problems he has because of changes in visa laws. But this part is poorly constructed and only goes so far as to hint at the subject. Even while it depicts immigrant problems, it scarcely provides a nuanced perspective. For Nitesh and Pranav's sections, the same applies. Ameer's life touches on a few significant subjects, however they are overshadowed by other events. The most ridiculous scene, though, is when Jayaprakash, an actor, dresses up as a low-budget Sherlock Holmes and spies on the five interview hopefuls under the guise of evaluating their actual talents.

Killer Soup review: Manoj Bajpayee, Konkona Sensharma serve a bland broth
A dark comedy adorned with murder and mayhem, served with a side order of "paya" soup and a dream platter of Manoj Bajpayee and Konkona Sensharma? When I learned about Abhishek Chaubey's upcoming web series, "Killer Soup," for 2024, I thought, "Sign me up already." I hate to say it, but this mixture, which had so much flavour and freshness in it, only seldom worked for me. The benefits come first. The charming Mainjur, a little village near Madurai, serves as the ideal backdrop for a twisting story full of sketchy characters and sketchier deeds. Husband and wife team Prabhakar or Prabhu Shetty (Manoj Bajpayee) and Swathi (Konkona Sensharma) are having what seems like an endless dispute; she is dreaming of opening her own restaurant, while he is attempting to figure out how to get out of a multi-crore "ghapla." The foul-mouthed, streetwise Arvind Shetty (Saiyaji Shinde), Prabhu's older brother, is unhelpful; he keeps the family's purse strings tight and his art-loving daughter Apeksha, called Apu (Anula Navelkar), even tighter, forbidding her from pursuing her dreams. The gravelly-voiced Lucas (Lal), Arvind's longtime factotum, is aware of the location of the skeletons and is a caretaker of former secrets. There seems to be a lot of potential for a fly in the soup. or several. A happy private investigator pulls out a camera and takes embarrassing pictures. There's a hint of blackmail. Umesh Pillai (Manoj Bajpayee in a dual role), Prabhu's squint-eyed masseuse, shows up at the wrong location and time.Killer Soup is a cleverly written crime and investigative comedy that is characterized by astute writing and flawless performance. It is witty, cunning, and incredibly amusing. One of its two main protagonists is the incompetent chef Swathi Shetty (Konkona Sen Sharma), who aspires to open her own eatery.Consider Swathi Shetty, her most recent invention. She is a horrible chef and homemaker who makes her husband Prabhu (Manoj Bajpayee) the same boring paya soup every day. They reside in a made-up southern hill town where Prabhu manages a failing real estate business. Although her husband finds Swathi's goal of opening her own restaurant unrealistic, Umesh, her hidden lover (who is also Bajpayee), graciously encourages her. Umesh is a narrow-eyed masseuse who has debts from gaming. Though he treats Swathi kindly, Prabhu is wealthier. Swathi hedges her bets by pausing for a long, delightful moment before answering Umesh's question, "Do you love me?"

Criminal Record review: New Apple show is the British antithesis to Delhi Crime; it’s addictive but not unmissable
The new Criminal Report crime-thriller series from Apple is weakened by a propensity for misdirection. Written by Paul Rutman, the eight-episode series pits two London investigators against each other when a seeming long-forgotten murder case appears out of nowhere. One is an experienced police officer, while the other is a wet-behind-the-ears rookie. What comes next is a cat-and-mouse game that works more like a psychological suspense story than a cop story with social responsibility, Detective Sergeant June Lenker, portrayed by Cush Jumbo, receives a distress call from a young woman who whispers to the operator that her life is in jeopardy. She says that her boyfriend is also to blame for the murder of another young woman more than ten years ago. Errol Mathis, a Black man, was found guilty of the crime and given a 24-year prison sentence; nevertheless, the woman thinks Mathis is innocent. DS Lenker learns that the case's investigating officer was the notorious Detective Inspector Daniel Hegarty, a no-nonsense Glaswegian who was intensely and scorchingly portrayed by Peter Capaldi in the television series.Review of Criminal Record: Despite having two of the best actors in the business in Peter Capaldi and Cush Jumbo, Apple's new series works better as a psychological thriller than a standard police procedural. I was offered Karmma Calling ten years ago, says Raveena Tandon.
Raveena Tandon discussed how difficult it was to play a grey character in Karmma Calling during the trailer's premiere.Karmma Calling on Disney Plus Hotstar will feature Raveena Tandon as a grey character. The mystery thriller-style program has a very captivating trailer that was released today. The actor discussed how difficult it was to depict a character with gray tones during the Karmma Calling press conference."Indira Kothari is very different from the real person that I am," the actor revealed. Because I did not want my thoughts to be reflected in this position, there was always a dilemma. I've been trying to play different characters for years, like KGF 2 or Aranyak. I've been spotted by people under many avatars. However, Karmma Calling is the first, and it was difficult.Sincerity, in the opinion of Raveena Tandon, is the secret to nailing any character. Being a real actor is a benefit. After 33 years, from the 1990s to the present, I've come to the conclusion that sincerity, honesty, and a lot of hard effort are what define an actor. Your job is unique if these are present in every character, the speaker stated.Speaking about her belief in karma, the actress said, "I am a spiritual person. " Thus, in my opinion, you get what you sow. The universe has prepared this journey with the spectacle. Ten years ago, I had an offer for the program, but I was unable to accept it because my son Ranbir had just been born. However, after ten years, karma brought this back to me. Namrata Sheth and Varun Sood play significant parts in Karmma Calling as well. On January 26, the program will be available on Disney Plus Hotstar.Origins of Karmma Ten years ago, I accepted this show. In an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times, Raveena stated that only anything that is intended to happen truly occurs when the stars align. When director Ruchi Narain approached Raveena for her Star TV debut, the actress said that because her son Ranbir Thadani was still a little child, she wouldn't be able to take time off for the lengthy shoot.Luckily for her, the show did not become popular. Ruchi convinced Star India's Gaurav Banerjee that Revenge, the ABC murder drama, would make a great TV series. He made an attempt to ABC Network, Star's then-rival, but they were unable to obtain the adaptation rights, so they had to shelve it. But years later, Disney, the parent business of ABC, bought Fox, the parent company of Star. It made it possible for Gaurav, who is currently head of content at Disney+ Hotstar, to approve Ruchi's version of her revenge story, Karmma Calling.
