How to remedy the five typical foods that may prevent your body from absorbing vitamin D

How to remedy the five typical foods that may prevent your body from absorbing vitamin D

Immune system performance, bone health, and general well-being all depend on getting adequate vitamin D. While sunshine exposure and supplements might assist, many everyday meals may actually interfere with your body’s absorption of this vital mineral. Understanding these relationships can make a substantial difference in maintaining optimal vitamin D levels. Even a diet high in vitamin D or appropriate supplementation may not be as beneficial if we eat foods that prevent the absorption of the nutrient. Many people are unaware that their intake of vitamin D isn't being properly utilized by their body because of factors like fat content, specific minerals, or compounds in certain meals that can lower its bioavailability. To find out which five frequent foods might hinder the absorption of vitamin D and the mechanism underlying their effects, we consulted with an expert.According to Ashlesha Joshi, a nutritionist and fitness dietitian at Tone 30 Pilates, "some foods can affect how efficiently the body absorbs or uses vitamin D," as reported by indianexpress.com. The most prominent of these are foods that include phytates, like whole grains and legumes, which can bind to minerals and vitamin D and hinder absorption. Caffeine from tea or coffee in excess can also cause problems by lowering the expression of vitamin D receptors in the intestines. Regular alcohol consumption damages liver function, which is necessary for the conversion of vitamin D into its active form. Trans fats and hydrogenated oils included in processed foods might hinder the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins, such as vitamin D. Finally, because vitamin D is fat-soluble and needs dietary lipids for effective uptake, particularly high-fibre diets, while generally healthy, might occasionally limit absorption efficiency.According to Joshi, "since vitamin D is fat-soluble, combining it with good fats can greatly enhance absorption." For example, eating foods high in vitamin D, such as salmon, eggs, or fortified cereals, together with foods high in healthy fats, like avocado, olive oil, or almonds, can improve absorption. Consuming foods high in vitamin K2, such as fermented soy or cheese, also aids in calcium metabolism and complements vitamin D. She adds that timing is also important, saying that consuming vitamin D-fortified meals or pills after your main meal of the day, when fat intake is highest, helps maximize absorption. Regular exposure to the sun, even for a short while each day, naturally raises vitamin D levels even more.

Try these pain-relieving at-home back exercises on World Spine Day.

Back pain is one of the most prevalent health issues in today's world, impacting professionals, homemakers, students, and even young children. The main causes of back discomfort include poor posture, extended sitting, and irregular activity. However, with the right workouts and proper posture, coupled with a few easy adjustments to our everyday routines, back discomfort can be greatly decreased. Maintaining normal alignment of the bones and joints, preventing weariness, and lessening the load on muscles and ligaments are all made possible by good posture. Conversely, bad posture can cause stiffness and muscle imbalances, which can ultimately lead to persistent back discomfort. Improving posture is important for maintaining spinal health for many years to come, according to Dr. Ranjith Unnikrishnan, Consultant-Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon, KIMSHEALTH Trivandrum. The health of your posture and spine are extremely important to your body. If left untreated, back discomfort can impair general quality of life, limit mobility, and lower productivity. Most people may avoid or lessen back pain without medicine if they are attentive, disciplined, and follow easy corrective measures, he said.

Reversing prediabetes without losing weight: How dietary modifications, fat distribution, and glucose management reduce the risk of diabetes by 70%

Reversing prediabetes without losing weight: How dietary modifications, fat distribution, and glucose management reduce the risk of diabetes by 70%

More than one in three persons in the US have prediabetes, which is characterized by high blood sugar levels that are not yet high enough to be diagnosed as diabetes. About 70% of people with prediabetes may develop type 2 diabetes if their condition is not controlled, which raises their risk of consequences like kidney damage, neurological issues, and heart disease. Reversing prediabetes has typically involved losing weight with medication, diet, or exercise. Recent studies, however, suggest a paradigm shift: enhancing insulin sensitivity and glucose management might be more important than simply losing weight. Lifestyle changes that focus on food, exercise, and fat distribution can result in remission and significantly reduce the long-term risk of type 2 diabetes.According to a recent study by German researchers at University Hospital Tübingen that was published in Nature Medicine, prediabetes can be corrected without weight loss. After a year of lifestyle changes, participants who were able to achieve normal blood glucose regulation but did not lose a considerable amount of weight had a 70% lower chance of acquiring type 2 diabetes over the course of five years than those who were unable to achieve remission. Whole grains, fruits, non-starchy vegetables, and legumes are good sources of carbs, whereas meals high in healthy fats include fatty fish, seeds, nuts, and olive oil. Normalizing blood glucose levels also requires controlling stress and getting enough sleep. In the US, prediabetes, characterized by high blood sugar that is not yet diagnosed as diabetes, affects more than one in three persons. In addition to concerns like heart disease, renal issues, and nerve damage, type 2 diabetes eventually develops in about 70% of people with prediabetes if left untreated. Reversing prediabetes has typically involved losing weight with medication, diet, or exercise.A recent study that was published in Nature Medicine indicates that prediabetes can be corrected without weight loss, according to a Morning News Today story. After a year of lifestyle interventions, participants who did not lose weight but achieved normal blood glucose regulation had a 70% lower risk of type 2 diabetes over the next five years than those who did not achieve remission, according to research from the University Hospital Tübingen in Germany."A lifestyle intervention can bring prediabetes into remission, meaning back to normal glucose values, even without weight loss, and this remission cuts future type 2 diabetes risk by approximately 70% over up to 10 years," co-author Dr. Andreas Birkenfeld told Medical News Today.

Which of the three magnificent cats would most likely prevail in a fight involving tigers, leopards, and lions?

Which of the three magnificent cats would most likely prevail in a fight involving tigers, leopards, and lions?

Big cats, from the sprawling African savannahs to the center of deep Asian jungles, captivate our collective imagination, especially when they are included in fictitious fights. In a conflict between a tiger, a leopard, or a lion, who would win? Let's examine the information. When it comes to sheer muscle and mass, tigers have the advantage. The largest of the great cats, male tigers can weigh up to 600 pounds or more. Although they usually weigh a little less, lions' stocky bodies nevertheless contain a lot of strength. Further investigation reveals that adult male tigers weigh 400–670 pounds, while male lions weigh 331–550 pounds. These parameters are validated by first-hand reports from animal observers: Even the greatest African lions are frequently greatly outnumbered by Bengal and Siberian tigers.Instead of speculating about who would prevail in a battle, we would much rather people focus their mental energies on preserving these amazing kitties. But because it's a frequently asked question, let's get started. The quick answer is that it depends on a variety of characteristics, including temperament, age, and size. Nonetheless, tigers typically have the upper hand. Tigers have an advantage in warfare since they are not only typically larger but also better at fighting when standing on their hind legs. Although there is much disagreement over the efficacy of this, some think that a lion's mane may offer some neck protection. When tigers and lions faced up in the Roman Coliseum, according to ancient legend, the tigers typically prevailed. Fortunately, though, those savage days are long gone. The likelihood of a tiger and lion encountering in the wild is nearly nonexistent nowadays. Lions are primarily located in Africa, with a small population surviving in a small area of India, whereas tigers traverse Asia. A tight affinity between these two species was shown at Big Cat Rescue between Cameron, a male lion, and Zabu, a white tiger. They were saved from a breeding environment that aimed to create ligers, a hybrid that we most definitely do not support. Although their humorous exchanges may have seemed like a quarrel, rest assured that it was all in good humor. And just so you know, we like to assume Zabu would have had the advantage.

Uncovering the Connection Between Alcohol Use and Bowel Cancer in 2024:

By increasing public awareness of the risk factors and symptoms of bowel cancer during Cancer Awareness Month in 2024, we can promote early identification and enhance the prognosis for people who are impacted by the illness.Bowel cancer, commonly referred to as colorectal cancer, is a kind of cancer that affects the rectum and the colon, the large intestine. It happens when aberrant cells in the colon or rectum grow out of control, creating a tumor. This tumor poses a serious risk to one's life because it has the ability to infect nearby tissues and spread to other sections of the body. Although the precise origin of bowel cancer is unknown, risk factors for the disease include age, family history, and certain lifestyle choices like smoking and a diet heavy in processed foods. We all know today that alcohol is bad for us; among the dangerous illnesses it causes is cancer, particularly colorectal cancer. When we inquired about the connection between alcohol consumption and bowel cancer, Dr. Vinay Samuel Gaikwad, Director of Surgical Oncology (The Oncology Centre), CK Birla Hospital, Gurugram, clarified that alcohol enters the intestinal tract and comes into direct contact with the mucosa lining the intestine, stomach, colon, and rectum. Alcohol decomposes into toxic compounds that can destroy your cells' DNA and expose them to mutations that can lead to cancer. Furthermore, drinking too much alcohol can lead to persistent inflammation in the digestive tract, which is another established risk factor for colon cancer.Alcohol's effects on hormones may also have a role in the development of cancer. Your odds can be increased by even modest alcohol consumption, and the risk increases with increased consumption.Although drinking alcohol increases your risk of colon cancer, not everyone who drinks will get colon cancer. But one of the most effective ways to lower your risk of developing this cancer is to take control of your health and cut back on alcohol.

Govt Pulls Up Indigo, Mumbai Airport After Viral Video Shows Fliers Eating On Tarmac

After a video of passengers eating on the tarmac at Mumbai Airport went viral on social media, the Union Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya Scindia held a meeting with all ministry officials at midnight yesterday. In the early hours on Tuesday, MoCA's Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) issued show cause notices to Indigo and Mumbai Airport.According to the notices, “both Indigo and MIAL were not proactive in anticipating the situation and making the appropriate facilitation arrangements for passengers at the airport”. For instance, “the aircraft was allotted a remote bay C-33 (instead of a Contact Stand - an aircraft parking stand that is suitable for walking passengers to and from an aircraft from an allocated boarding gate), which further added to passenger woes and deprived them the opportunity to avail basic facilities like rest rooms and refreshments at the terminal”.Delayed flights, dense fog and hassled passengers have been grabbing headlines for the past few days in India. And through all this chaos, budget airlines IndiGo has been thrown into the limelight. The domestic carrier is facing flak over several flight disruptions owing to intense fog in Delhi and other places in northern India and its handling of passengers. Now, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has issued a show-cause notice to IndiGo Airlines and Mumbai Airport after a video of passengers eating food on the tarmac spread online on Monday (15 January). The passengers of a Goa-Delhi flight that was diverted to Mumbai owing to poor visibility in the National Capital on Sunday (14 January) were seen dining on the apron upon disembarking. In the video that went viral on social media, flyers can be seen seated on the tarmac and eating food next to the parked IndiGo aircraft. The incident sparked safety concerns as the apron is designated for aircraft activities. The ground staff connected the aircraft with the stepladder and the passengers were asked to deboard. As the angry flyers disembarked, they refused to enter the terminal building of the Mumbai airport, HT reported. Many disgruntled passengers demanded the flight be taken directly to Delhi. Videos showed some flyers with their food packets, eating on the apron. An airline official told HT that Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel had to be called to remove them from the tarmac and take them to a safety zone. The flight finally took off for Delhi at 2.39 am on Monday. IndiGo said it was aware of the incident and apologised to the customers, saying it was “currently looking into the incident”.According to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, the passengers were “irate” due to the flight delay in Goa and left the aircraft as soon as it landed in Mumbai.

India overtakes Hong Kong as worlds fourth-largest stock market

India's stock market capitalization crossed $4 trillion for the first time on December 5, with about half of that coming in the past four years. India’s stock market has pipped Hong Kong for the first time. The combined value of shares listed on Indian exchanges hit $4.33 trillion as of Monday’s close, against $4.29 trillion for Hong Kong, according to data compiled by Bloomberg, making India the fourth-biggest equity market globally.   Its stock market capitalization crossed $4 trillion for the first time on December 5, with about half of that coming in the past four years.  India has all the right ingredients in place to set the growth momentum further,” Ashish Gupta, chief investment officer at Axis Mutual Fund in Mumbai, told Bloomberg. Hong Kong's slump is also due to an eroding China appeal. Some of China’s most influential and innovative firms are listed in Hong Kong. Beijing’s stringent anti-Covid-19 curbs, regulatory crackdowns on corporations, a property-sector crisis and geopolitical tensions with the West have hit Chinese stocks hard. The total market value of Chinese and Hong Kong stocks have tumbled by more than $6 trillion since their peaks in 2021.   New listings have dried up in Hong Kong, with the Asian financial hub losing its status as one of the world’s busiest venues for initial public offerings. Overseas funds poured more than $21 billion into Indian shares in 2023, helping the country’s benchmark S&P BSE Sensex Index cap an eighth consecutive year of gains.“There is a clear consensus that India is the best long-term investment opportunity,” Goldman Sachs Group Inc. strategists including Guillaume Jaisson and Peter Oppenheimer wrote in a note Jan. 16 with results of a survey from the firm’s Global Strategy Conference.

Researchers recently stated that a big U.S. study did not find any evidence linking the use of Ozempic or Wegovy to an increase in suicidal ideation.Semaglutide is the same active component found in both the obesity medication Wegovy and the type 2 diabetes medication Ozempic.Over 1.8 million patients' electronic medical records were included in the analysis. In fact, when compared to individuals using other drugs for diabetes or weight reduction, researchers discovered that semaglutide users had a decreased incidence of both new and recurrent suicidal ideation.Semaglutide is a member of the GLP-1 agonist medication class, which was created to treat type 2 diabetes. The medications not only assist lower blood sugar levels but also make you feel full. The European Medicines Agency launched an investigation as a result of worries over reports of suicidal thoughts associated with semaglutide. Suicidal ideation has been identified by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a potential safety risk associated with GLP-1 medications.According to a Reuters investigation last year, the FDA has been notified of 265 cases of suicide behavior or thoughts in patients who were on semaglutide or related medications since 2010. Thirty-six of those reports detail an apparent suicide or suicide death.Such incidents do not demonstrate a link between a medication and a negative effect. However, they can alert authorities to the need to investigate a particular risk. The work was published in the journal Nature online. The U.S. National Institutes of Health provided funding for it. The researchers looked at data on roughly 1.6 million individuals with type 2 diabetes who were prescribed Ozempic or other medicines, and 240,258 people in the United States who were prescribed Wegovy or other medications for weight loss.Nearly 53,000 Wegovy patients were compared by researchers to an equal number of closely matched users of other weight-loss medications. They discovered that 0.11 percent of Wegovy users reported experiencing suicide thoughts for the first time within the first six months of use. In contrast, 0.43 percent of users of medications other than those in the same class as semaglutide do the same. Wegovy was associated with a 73 percent lower incidence of first-time suicide ideation after accounting for other risk factors, according to the study. Compared to 14 users of the other medicines, none of the patients in the Wegovy group reported having attempted suicide, according to the findings.Compared to other weight-loss medications, Wegovy lowered the incidence of recurrent suicidal thoughts in individuals who had previously experienced them by 56%. Comparing Ozempic's usage to that of other diabetes medications, similar trends were seen. The researchers discovered that the results held true for both semaglutide types regardless of the patients' sex, age, or ethnicity. A study of this kind cannot demonstrate that GLP-1 agonists do not raise the possibility of suicide thoughts. But the results might allay worries. The statistical significance of variations in the number of actual suicide attempts could not be determined by the researchers. Suicidal ideations and suicide attempts are "critically different," according to the experts. Professor Pamela Davis teaches at Ohio's Case Western Reserve School of Medicine. She contributed to the study's writing. She stated that it is crucial "to understand all its potential complications" given Ozempic's rising popularity.Suggestions that the medicine may promote suicidal thoughts are not substantiated by “this very large and diverse population in the U.S.,” Davis added.

But for now, you should definitely ask for advice from others, particularly in certain increasingly complex situations.Libra: 23 September – 22 October There are few things that irritate you more than those who will gladly leave a debate, if not a heated argument, without saying anything. But not everyone values close connections as highly or devotes as much time and energy to them. They genuinely care, but they're not sure how to express it.Scorpio: 23 October – 21 November As a Scorpio, you not only have a talent for avoiding unnecessary situations, but you also frequently manage things so well that others are blind to your skill. That does not, however, imply that you can completely avoid having conversations. Furthermore, a number of problems must be resolved. Some things are urgent, while others can wait till the mood changes. November 22–December 21 is Sagittarius. In a flash of enthusiasm, you agreed to work with others to transform their ideas into long-term plans. The issue? You run the risk of being so engrossed in things that you overlook some very important personal issues. It's true that addressing issues will call for careful consideration of priorities. In spite of that, you are capable.December 22, – January 19, is Capricorn. You were pleased about the recent plans you made, not merely certain they would work out, only a few days ago. But now that things have changed, everything needs to be reconsidered. Even while this is undoubtedly inconvenient in the near run, things will turn out better than you could have ever dreamed.January 20–February 17, Aquarius You have been looking for a means to break free from some stifling plans or alliances for a very long time, but your efforts haven't yielded much success. Based on the impressive planetary activity this week, those adjustments won't just happen; in certain situations, things will happen quickly enough for you to bid them farewell.Pisces: 18 February–19 March Every Full Moon heightens emotions, and since this one accentuates some already delicate matters, you may find yourself feeling extremely tense. Take note of that, but try not to place too much emphasis on the highs and lows of the particular situation. You'll completely forget about such issues in a matter of days.

The FMCG sector in India is more robust than it is globally.

The FMCG sector in India is more robust than it is globally.

According to Sudhir Sitapati, FMCG is the biggest advertiser in India by a wide margin, and advertising is essential to the FMCG sector.According to Sudhir Sitapati, CEO and MD of Godrej Consumer Products, the FMCG business in India is stronger than it is globally, and advertising is the driving force behind this."The FMCG business depends heavily on advertising, and it continues to be the biggest spender on advertising in India. In my opinion, the FMCG industry in India is stronger than it is globally, with advertising playing a major role in this. the top 5 FMCG firms on the list. Speaking at the recently held Subhas Ghosal memorial lecture, Sitapati stated, "Their EBITDA is on average 20–25 percent compared with their global peers at 15-20 percent, and they list at 60X P/E multiples vs. 20X for their global peers."Sitapati thinks that if businesses identify a trend that would propel their share values over the next 12 to 36 months, they will be willing to pay advertising firms, as FMCG is the industry in India that spends the most on advertising.Sitapati made the argument that people in charge of profit and loss, not those in charge of advertising budgets, are the true clients of advertising companies."Even though it meant sacrificing profitability, the first thing I did when I joined GCPL two years ago was drastically raise advertising spending. Two realizations influenced my personal views on advertising. As the brand manager for Surf Excel, I saw that our sales rates increased a few weeks after a measure dubbed "Proven ad recall" on our Milward Brown brand tracker increased. Put differently, a customer only needed to be able to tell the ad's tale on the spot to beg for further purchases. This idea, in my opinion, should "be famous before you get persuasive." Be renowned for what you sell, don't try to sell," he said."It is better to whisper to many than to shout to a few" has been his second advertising philosophy, and it has to do with the media.brand encroachment He went on to say that penetration, not consumption, is what spurs growth, saying, "My favorite brand in India is Santoor from Wipro. It has bravely kept to large-scale wall murals in order to reach extremely light TV viewers in rural India, all while adhering to its big notion of "Mistaken Identity" for years. Fame > persuasion because salience, not equity attributes, drives penetration, and salience is fueled by having your brand mentally accessible to as many individuals as possible. Regarding media, reach—rather than impact—is what counts, he stated. For a marketing and advertising agency, Sudhir said, building a database is essential because customers want to see figures.

"The Jewel in the Kitchen": What Are Truffles and Why Do They Cost So Much?

Truffles are a part of the world of gourmet foods. The edible spores that grow on an underground fungus are called truffles. This may not sound particularly tasty, and truffles don't look particularly appealing—they resemble rocks or black potatoes. Truffles, however, are highly prized in fine dining because of their earthy, meaty, and musky flavor. According to Smithsonian Magazine, truffles have only been found in Europe for centuries, growing wild in regions like France, Italy, and Spain. But thanks to cultivation techniques that have made it possible for plantations to be established in places like the United States, China, Greece, Turkey, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Chile, and Argentina, truffle production has experienced an amazing global expansion over the past 50 years. The fragrance of truffles is potent and rich. Truffles have an earthy, nutty, and slightly savoury flavour with hints of oak. Truffle oil is another product made from these truffles; it is created by combining truffles with extra virgin olive oil. This oil is used as a finishing touch for mashed potatoes, deviled eggs, pasta dishes, and truffle fries. Do Mushrooms and Truffles Look the Same?Truffles and mushrooms are both members of the fungi kingdom. Truffles, on the other hand, grow underground, while mushrooms grow above ground.  Truffles are also seasonal, extremely rare, and difficult to find and cultivate, compared to other mushroom varieties.

Trump allies warn of coup if Haley selected as VP

Trump allies warn of coup if Haley selected as VP

Former President Donald Trump is being warned by allies about potentially choosing former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley as his running mate in 2024. Close Trump allies warned that selecting Haley as his vice president would result in an “intra-party coup,” Politico reported, with Republican senators moving to use every tool at their disposal to remove Trump to install Haley instead. They also believe that she would actively subvert the administration.“Nikki Haley as VP would be an establishment neocon fantasy and a MAGA nightmare,” Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) told the outlet. “On Day One she would convert the Naval Observatory into an anti-Trump, resistance headquarters, undermining him at every step.” Most of Trump’s closest allies have pledged to do everything in their power to prevent her from taking the VP spot, including his son, Donald Trump Jr.“I wouldn’t have her, and I would go to great lengths to make sure that that doesn’t happen,” he told Newsmax’s Eric Bolling about the possibility of a Haley VP selection in a December interview.“Nikki Haley wants never-ending wars. She’s a puppet of the establishment in Washington, D.C. She’s the new favorite candidate of the billionaire class because they want control,” he continued. “No different than academia and Harvard and using their billions to exercise influence. They want someone they control.” Trump and Haley are viewed as ideologically different, with much of the old guard of the pre-Trump GOP supporting her. Therein lies a significant argument for selecting her as VP — were Trump to win, her selection could be an opportunity to unite the party. But most in Trump’s circle have suggested they would view the move as a betrayal of the America First movement, seeing her as an enemy on par with their Democratic rivals. Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, who dropped out of the 2024 race and endorsed Trump after coming in fourth in Iowa, has made himself known throughout the race for his blistering critiques of Haley, critiques he leaned into in his first speech in New Hampshire after endorsing the former president.“And you know what, we do have some enemies that we need to defeat on the other side, but we have challenges to address in our own party right here at home. So you know what, if you want somebody who’s going to foist onto you, to use your social media account, you want to use a driver’s license to do it, to have the right to use the internet? This man is not your man,” he said, referring to Trump. “There’s another candidate in this race who will do that for you. It’s Nikki Haley.” You want to cut Social Security? You want to cut Medicare, you want to cut veterans benefits, so we can fork over more money to Ukraine, so some kleptocrat can buy a bigger house? Vote for Nikki Haley, not this man right here,” he continued.

Apple to remove blood oxygen feature from some watches after US ban

Apple to remove blood oxygen feature from some watches after US ban

Apple will remove the blood oxygen monitoring feature from the Apple Watch 9 and Ultra 2 sold in the United States due to a patent infringement claim. Apple will remove the blood oxygen measuring feature from some of its latest Apple Watches in the United States in a move that will allow the company to continue selling the devices in the country as it fights a lawsuit against California-based health technology firm Masimo. The company said in a statement that the Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 model smartwatches will start going on sale on Thursday, reported Reuters. The company has been embroiled in a legal dispute with Masimo, which manufactures medical devices, ever since the International Trade Commission (ITC) in October found that its smartwatches had sensors that infringed upon Masimo’s patents. The watches that had the sensors were banned on December 26 last year before Apple got a victory in a US appeals court on December 27 to pause the import ban on the smartwatches. But the court did not turn the ITC decision, which is currently under appeal. It is quite rare for technology companies like Apple to remove features from released products and there is a chance that the absence of a blood oxygen sensor might turn away some customers.“Pending the appeal, Apple is taking steps to comply with the ruling while ensuring customers have access to Apple Watch with limited disruption. These steps include introducing a version of Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 in the United States without the Blood Oxygen feature. There is no impact to Apple Watch units previously purchased that include the Blood Oxygen feature,” said an Apple spokesperson to CNBC. The Apple Watch is an important product category for the company. It made nearly $40 billion in sales from the wearables category in 2023. This category also includes its headphones but the watches make up a significant chunk. Masimo accused Apple of hiring its employees and stealing its technology to create the pulse oximetry devices used in the smartwatches. The watches continued to be available for sale in the United States through various channels after Apple received a temporary reprieve from the US court.Masimo’s founder and chief executive Joe Kiani said the ruling showed that “even the largest and most powerful companies must respect the intellectual rights of American inventors and must deal with the consequences when they are caught infringing others’ patents,” according to BBC.
