Activist Jarange:

Activist Jarange: "Give Marathas reservation within the legal framework by Aug. 26 or face agitation."

Manoj Jarange, an activist, stated on Monday that if the government does not declare Maratha reservation "within the legal framework" by Tuesday, he will go on to Mumbai to start an agitation. He stated that he has no interest in traveling to Mumbai for a "indefinite hunger strike," which he said would be a nonviolent protest, if the demand is met by Tuesday.Jarange has called for a protest to begin on August 29 in Mumbai's Azad Maidan, calling for the Maratha community to be given preference in government employment and education under the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category. He has been leading the push to recognize all Marathas as Kunbis, an agrarian caste that falls under the OBC category, so that they can be given preference in government employment and education. In order to demonstrate the Marathas' Kunbi identity, the activist has emphasized the community's need for the application of historical records, such as the Bombay, Satara, and Hyderabad gazettes."Give us reservation that fits in the legal framework," Jarange stated during a press conference held in the Jalna district's Antarwali Sarati hamlet, from which he intends to depart for the agitation on August 27. He claimed that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is purposefully adopting a "stubborn stand". 29 castes were been added to the OBC category by the government. According to the activist, this is akin to inciting the Maratha community. "Today and tomorrow belong to the government. Give us our reservation; we don't want to travel to Mumbai," he remarked.Jarange has been demanding the quota under the OBC category, despite the state government's announcement last year of a 10% reservation for the Maratha community under a different category. "A quota ought to be granted to the Maratha group since they have records of Kunbis. We don't want the 10% reservation to be canceled at any time," he stated. He stated, "We will also stand with him if reservation is given," if the chief minister believes that the OBC community supports the BJP.

Here’s A Detailed Look At 2024 Kia Sonet Facelift Mid-spec HTX Variant In 8 Images

Here’s A Detailed Look At 2024 Kia Sonet Facelift Mid-spec HTX Variant In 8 Images

Kia has just refreshed its popular subcompact SUV, the Sonet, with an updated design, refreshed interior, and new features. And if you are eyeing the 2024 Sonet with automatic transmission, the HTX variant serves as an entry-level option for it. Take a look at what the HTX variant has to offer. From the front, the HTX variant resembles the  HTK+ variant (that sits right below it), featuring an updated grille with chrome surrounds. However, with the HTX variant you get LED headlights (halogen headlights in HTK+ variant) with LED DRLs and LED fog lamps. The lower section showcases a silver skid plate, providing a contrasting look. It is equipped with 16-inch steel wheels that are designed to mimic the look of an alloy rim. Moving onto the rear, the HTX variant is equipped with connected LED taillights, and the bumper gets a similar design treatment to the front with a silver skid plate. Stepping inside, the first thing you will notice is the dual-tone black and tan brown leatherette upholstery for the seats. The cabin features all-black dashboard with silver inserts on the AC vents and door handles that add a dash of contrast. Adding to the premium feel are the leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob. It's worth noting that opting for the turbo petrol with clutchless manual transmission or diesel with manual transmission gives you a lighter beige tone to the upholstery. Additionally, the rear seats offer a 60:40 split for added flexibility, and rear passengers benefit from adjustable headrests, and a rear centre armrest with cup holders. With the HTX variant, you get front ventilated seats (limited to the 1-litre turbo with 7-speed DCT and 1.5-litre diesel with 6-speed AT and iMT variants). Mid-spec Tata Punch EV vs Top-end Tata Tiago EV: Cross-shopping Simplified

Mid-spec Tata Punch EV vs Top-end Tata Tiago EV: Cross-shopping Simplified

Tata Motors recently launched the Punch EV, introducing a new electric micro-SUV in our market. It sports a refreshed look and is based on a completely new electric car-only platform. The Punch EV joins Tata's lineup of electric vehicles, including the Tiago EV. If you are considering both the Punch EV and Tiago EV, we have simplified your decision-making process with a detailed comparison. Check it out. The mid-spec Punch EV Standard Range marginally undercuts the top-spec Tiago EV Long Range. It's important to note that, we are considering the Tiago EV configured with a 7.2 kW AC fast charger, which comes at a premium of Rs 50,000. Both the vehicles come standard with 3.3 kW AC charger. Considering the segment, the Punch EV is undoubtedly a larger vehicle than the Tiago EV, offering more space and a larger boot. It also has a longer wheelbase and that should result in more room inside the cabin.  Things change in the features department, with no significant difference between the two cars. In fact, the Tiago EV offers additional features such as rain-sensing wipers, a larger 8-speaker sound system, and a tyre pressure monitoring system. On the other hand, the Punch EV rides on larger 15-inch wheels and comes equipped with 6 airbags. As seen in the table above, there is barely any difference between the two cars in terms of powertrain specifications. However, the Punch EV's electric motor produces slightly more power. In terms of claimed range, both deliver a similar range. Do note that you get a second powertrain choice with both cars: Medium Range in the Tiago EV and Long Range in the Punch EV.  Ultimately, your decision will depend on whether to choose a larger micro-SUV or a hatchback with a smaller form factor, as both cars more or less offer a similar features set and power figures. Keeping the size factor aside, choosing the Punch EV means opting for a more modern product with an updated design. If you can configure it to higher-spec variants, you also get additional niceties like ventilated seats, and a larger infotainment and digital driver’s display. You also get the novelty factor of an SUVThe Tiago EV, on the other hand, is based on its petrol-powered counterpart, maintains the same design and feel, which might feel dated when compared to the Punch EV. Nevertheless, it does offer some additional conventional features if aesthetics are overlooked. That said, the new Punch EV is definitely the more modern product here and is our pick.

After the Realme Note 50, two Realme Note Series phones are planned for 2024; however, they may not reach India.

The Realme Note 50, the company's first smartphone to bear the Note brand, is scheduled to launch officially on January 23. It has been confirmed that the entry-level smartphone will have an IP54 dust and splash resistance build, a 6.7-inch HD+ display, and a Unisoc chip. Francis Wong, the global marketing director and CEO of Realme Europe, has now made hints about the release of two additional Note series smartphones later this year. According to reports, the company wants to sell 10 million units by 2024. On January 23, the Philippines will host the announcement of the first Realme Note smartphone. Francis Wong (via GSMArena) has disclosed that Realme plans to release two more Note smartphones in the upcoming months in order to increase the number of devices in the lineup. The Note lineup from Realme will be positioned in the sub-$100 (approximately Rs. 8,000) market. The series could be positioned below Redmi's Note series by the company. By 2024, Realme wants to have sold 10 million Note series phones. The Note smartphones won't, however, be available in India. China, the home country of the company, will likewise be excluded from the Note lineup. Apple's $3,499 Vision Pro headset sees strong demand in early pre-orders, shipping dates extend to March

Apple's $3,499 Vision Pro headset sees strong demand in early pre-orders, shipping dates extend to March

Apple Inc. has officially opened preorders for its highly anticipated Vision Pro mixed-reality headset, and early indicators suggest a robust response from buyers, quickly depleting initial supplies of the $3,499 device, reported Bloomberg. Reportedly, the product became available for purchase at 8 a.m. Eastern time on Apple's website and mobile app, with delivery dates for all three models slipping to March 8-15 for online orders. The rapid sellout for in-store pickup on the first day at many locations hints at either strong demand or limited supplies, or a combination of both.In a move that adds more options for consumers, Apple unveiled two additional configurations: a version with 512 gigabytes of storage for $3,699 and a top-end model with a capacious 1 terabyte of space for $3,899. The base model comes with 256 gigabytes of storage.Complementing the headset, Apple will offer a carrying case for $199, additional batteries for $199, and extra bands priced at $99 each. However, the unique purchasing process requires customers to use a recent iPhone or iPad to scan their head and, if necessary, provide a vision prescription. As per the report, while Apple typically refrains from commenting on the sales performance of new products, Wall Street analysts are predicting a measured start for the Vision Pro. UBS Group AG analyst David Vogt anticipates Apple shipping 300,000 to 400,000 units this year, generating up to $1.4 billion. Despite the hefty price tag, Apple's sales expectations appear to align with a slow and steady market entry.Initially available exclusively in the U.S., Apple plans to extend the Vision Pro's availability to other markets, with the UK, Canada, and China among the first countries in line, according to Bloomberg News reports. Internally, Apple executives anticipate a strong opening weekend, with sales tapering off in the subsequent weeks. Priced significantly higher than Meta Platforms Inc.'s latest device, the Vision Pro is positioned as one of the most expensive consumer headsets, emphasizing its premium nature. However, the unique fitting process poses a challenge for sharing the device with family and friends. A precise face scan is required to determine the optimal light seal and strap size for each user, with 25 different light seals and two straps available. Additionally, prescription lens inserts are offered at an extra cost. Some early testers have raised concerns about the headset's weight, finding it cumbersome for extended periods.

Apple could launch its biggest iPad Air with 12.9-inch display soon. Here's what we know so far

Apple could launch its biggest iPad Air with 12.9-inch display soon. Here's what we know so far

Apple is reportedly working on launching a bigger iPad Air with a 12.9-inch display soon as the iPad Air 6th Generation model and could be powered by Apple's proprietary M2 chipset. The new iPad has been rumored since October last year but now a report by 91Mobiles revealed the renders of the upcoming device. As per the 91Mobiles report citing industry sources, the new iPad Air 12.9 inch will have a similar design to the current generation to the iPad Air with a slim body and all-screen design. The latest tablet from Apple could feature a Touch ID button on top and speakers grilles on the bottom similar to the previous generation. Furthermore, the new iPad Air is seen to be featuring a side switch and a USB-C type port. Interestingly, there is design change around the rear camera with the report suggesting there is a visible border around the lens and LED flash on the new iPad Air. Apart from this, Apple doesn't seem to be making a lot of design changes with the new iPad Air. According to an Indian Express report, the upcoming iPad Air 12.9 inch will significantly lower the difference between the Pro and Air lineup, offering users a chance to get a bigger display from Apple while still saving a lot of money by not paying extra by opting for the Pro lineup. Moreover, since the bezels around the iPad Air 12.9 inch are expected to be similar to the previous generation it could in essence have bigger dimensions than the 12.9 inch iPad Pro lineup. The current iPad Air 5th Gen comes with a 10.9-inch screen but Apple could start offering two sizes with the new iPad launch later this year.An earlier report by Bloomberg had also noted that Apple is planning to launch a 12.9-inch iPad Air with four potential models codenamed J507, J508, J537 and J538. The report noted that these models would be available in both wifi and cellular versions. Moreover, the Bloomberg report noted the larger display on the iPad Air series could be part of Apple's strategy to offer more options at different price points, similar to what the company has done with the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro series.
