The Bollywood movie Battle of Galwan has caused controversy due to its factual distortion experts claim that a country's holy area cannot be impacted by over-the-top drama.

On December 27, main actor Salman Khan released the trailer for the Indian film Battle of Galwan, which is set to be released in April 2026 and purports to be based on the 2020 fighting between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan region. The clip sparked outrage on the internet on Monday. Chinese internet users frequently make fun of Salman Khan, who is best known to Chinese audiences as the lead actor in Bajrangi Bhaijaan, for portraying parts that seem too unbeatable, with stories that are too straightforward and excessive visual effects that make the drama seem surreal.Salman Khan plays Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu in the movie, a role that Indian media said attracted Bollywood's attention due to his alleged crucial part in the 2020 Galwan Valley conflict. Bollywood films, at most, offer an emotionally charged and entertaining picture, but no amount of cinematic exaggeration can change history or undermine the PLA's resolve to protect China's sovereign land, according to a Chinese scholar on Monday. The Hindustan Times reported on Sunday that the trailer opens with Salman's voice giving a speech while instructing his soldiers on how to combat the "enemy." He is then shown in the video approaching the "enemy," with his soldiers standing next to him. He is then shown clinging to a stick while the "enemy" rushes in their direction. Salman's character strikes someone with the stick as the video comes to a close. On the other hand, some online users questioned whether the movie had imitated a sequence from Game of Thrones. The movie has also sparked additional controversy on the internet, with users pointing to things like extras' outfits and looks, actors' hairstyles that don't fit their military roles or the storyline's suggestion of extreme cold, and—most importantly—a depiction of events that isn't true. About 200 Indian soldiers valiantly defended their land against a force of 1,200 Chinese soldiers on June 15, 2020, according to certain local media, notably India Today, which has promoted the movie as being based on the events that occurred between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan region.

Homebound film critique: The movie featuring Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, and Janhvi Kapoor fearlessly addresses disturbing realities

Homebound movie review: The film begins with two young men, Chandan and Shoaib, battling their way into a surging crowd, maneuvering from the periphery to the center, making room for themselves. The setting is a train station, from where they aspire to be carried away, longing for the ‘ijjat’ and ‘paisa’ that will grant them the dignity they have evidently been denied throughout their lives. The ‘ijjat’ and ‘paisa’ — respect and money — that Chandan Kumar (Vishal Jethwa) and Shoaib Akhtar Ali (Ishaan Khatter) crave are not the same as what the rest of us seek, armed with names that carry our family legacies: the former’s house has a ‘chhaprail’ with a widening hole that lets rainwater in whenever it rains; the latter's father requires surgery to be able to walk again. Directed by Neeraj Ghaywan and featuring Ishaan Khatter and Vishal Jethwa, the film Homebound has received critical acclaim for its fearless depiction of caste and religious discrimination against migrant workers, especially during the pandemic. The film, inspired by real events, showcases powerful and subtle performances, particularly from Jethwa and Khatter as they embody resilience and camaraderie in remarkable ways. Janhvi Kapoor is also commended for her measured and sincere performance. The film's powerful and poignant narrative is enhanced by its cinematic craftsmanship, including cinematography and editing, leaving critics and audiences profoundly affected.

Movie review of They Call Him OG: Pawan Kalyan takes charge of OG in Sujeeth’s action film

Movie review of They Call Him OG: Pawan Kalyan takes charge of OG in Sujeeth’s action film

They Call Him OG Movie Review & Rating: In Indian cinema, making films with superstars has never been more challenging. Take a look around, and you will see filmmakers today dashing about in search of characters, narratives, backstories, settings, and dilemmas that will set them apart from the next individual who is similarly hunting. In what now appears to be a game of tropes, some utilize the timeless Baashha (1995) trope of a reluctant hero confronted by his past, while others are fixated on the more modern KGF concept of a vast, mythical underworld teeming with ingenious figures. The Baahubali device, though its origins go back several decades, is quite useful in stories where a hero regains their throne due to fate, lineage, or prophecy. It wouldn’t be shocking if a narrative matrix, akin to a table that indicates possibilities and things to avoid, exists somewhere to assist writers and filmmakers in this world that is becoming more and more governed by algorithms.OG is enjoyable depending on the viewer's acceptance of fan-service sequences. The narrative offers little drama or depth. Essentially, it revolves around a recognizable gangster tale: the middle-aged main character comes back from exile to shield his family and face dangers to the city. This wide-ranging narrative has appeared in a number of recent Indian action films from various languages, resulting in a predictable aspect to the story even though it is skillfully carried out.By incorporating an origin story from Japan, OG gains a degree of novelty, permitting visuals inspired by anime and action choreography drawing on Aikido and various other martial arts. The meticulousness extends to the selection of font style for specific credits.

Jimmy Kimmel is back with an emotional monologue: Trump, Charlie Kirk, and others

After a week-long suspension, late-night host Jimmy Kimmel made his TV comeback to enthusiastic applause. He delivered an extensive monologue filled with puns and sarcasm, addressing the shooting of Trump aide Charlie Kirk and Trump himself.Kimmel, with tears in his eyes and filled with emotion, stated that Trump “tried his best” to have him canceled and emphasized that he wasn’t attempting to make light of Kirk’s murder—comments that drew controversy on his show. The ABC star exited the stage to a hero's welcome and several minutes of applause before his 20-minute monologue. “To be honest, it was damaging to the ears,” said Kevin Winhard, a participant.Kimmel, who has consistently criticized Trump, addressed the controversial issue of the shooting of Kirk, a right-wing activist, directly in his opening remarks. “I know I can’t change anyone’s mind, but I want to clarify something for my own sake: Please understand that I never meant to trivialize the murder of a young man,” Kimmel said.Kimmel further stated, with his voice breaking, "Nor was it my intention to blame any specific group for the actions of what... was obviously a deeply disturbed individual. "The host of the late-night show, who has a huge global fanbase, became emotional while commending Kirk's wife, Erica, for her public forgiveness of her husband's murderer. Kimmel, with tears in his eyes, said, "I hope it can be that." Kirk, who assisted Trump in garnering support from young voters before the presidential election, was fatally shot while speaking at an event at Utah Valley University.Kimmel infuriated a portion of conservatives when he claimed on his program that Trump loyalists were "doing everything they can" to gain political advantage from the tragedy. Er warf zudem die Möglichkeit auf, dass Kirk von einem MAGA-Republikaner getötet worden sein könnte. Last week, after Republicans raised a clamor, ABC suspended Kimmel's show for an "indefinite" period. He recently claimed that Bollywood actresses Bipasha Basu and Neha Dhupia received remuneration in the amount in question. The Mumbai Police's Economic Offences Wing (EOW) is investigating businessman Raj Kundra, the spouse of actress Shilpa Shetty, in relation to a purported Rs 60 crore fraud case. Officials pointed out that he continued to be evasive on a number of crucial areas, necessitating the planning of more rounds of interrogation."Raj Kundra mentioned that certain amounts were legitimate fees to Bipasha Basu and Neha Dhupia," a source close to the probe told news agency IANS. The EOW has obtained proof of these transfers for further examination.Raj Kundra has been instructed to provide recordings created for a project named Best Deal as part of the continuing investigation. Watch the viral video of Bhediya duo Varun Dhawan and Abhishek Banerjee reuniting and hugging.

Bollywood has managed to transform airports into places for reunions, despite the fact that they are often associated with rushed check-ins and lengthy security queues. While promoting his new love movie Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, Varun Dhawan recently ran into Abhishek Banerjee, his co-star from Bhediya, at the airport. To the delight of fans and paparazzi, the unplanned encounter swiftly evolved into a little reunion for Bhediya (2022).Wearing a clean white jacket over a gray t-shirt and beige trousers, Varun made a striking impression as he moved through the station. Sunglasses and brown boots completed the ensemble, solidifying his reputation for airport chic. His embrace with Abhishek, a co-star with whom he obviously still has a casual friendship, was the moment that really grabbed notice, not his attire. Fans of Bhediya, in which Abhishek starred as his cousin Jana and Varun played Bhaskar, a contractor who becomes a werewolf after being bitten under a full moon, were moved by the embrace. Their emotional and comedic relationship turned into one of the movie's highlights. Many people were reminded of the oddball creature-comedy when they saw them together once more.On October 2, Varun's next movie, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, will be released. A twisted love narrative in which Varun and Janhvi Kapoor pose as lovers in order to incite jealousy in their ex-partners (Rohit Saraf and Sanya Malhotra) is hinted to in the teaser. Chaos ensues, of course, with catty exchanges and a jumble of feelings that ultimately draw Varun's character closer to Janhvi's Tulsi Kumari. Sanya Malhotra, Rohit Saraf, Maniesh Paul, and Akshay Oberoi are also part of the group. In the meantime, Abhishek is still making headlines as a casting director in addition to an actor. "I had a very strict rule in my casting company that nobody could go and meet an actor outside the office space," he said in a recent interview with Mid-Day, discussing how the #MeToo movement changed Bollywood. Additionally, you're not meeting them as a casting director if you're not in an office setting. You will be fired if I find out that you met an actor for a casting call in a coffee shop.

Sanjay Gupta claims that a Bollywood celebrity was dismissed from a South film for bringing six vanity trucks to the set

Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta shared firsthand knowledge on Bollywood's growing entourage expenses, stating that certain celebrities now require up to six vanity vans, each with its own staff. He claimed that although some "old-school" people, like Amitabh Bachchan, still pay for their own employees, producers are hit with enormous costs by these actors. According to Sanjay, he is aware of a Bollywood star who signed a deal for a South Indian film, showed up on set to film, and was abruptly sacked when the producer realized he would be slapped with enormous hidden expenses because of the demands of the star's entourage. In an appearance on Cyrus Broacha's podcast, he disclosed, "I'll tell you something very funny," without naming anyone. A movie down south was signed by this specific star. He headed for the photo session, and they arrived at the studio. The producer says, "Boss, I didn't hire six actors," when he discovers that there are six vans from Bombay. You see, you indulge to a certain extent. Alright. Afterwards, however, he was informed, "Yeh saab ka vans hai, aur yeh raato raat Bombay se aaya hai, aapka ek din bach gaya" (The vans were brought in overnight from Mumbai, thus you saved a day).

Why Indian consumers may find the iPhone Air to be a confusing option

Why Indian consumers may find the iPhone Air to be a confusing option

Although the ultra-thin iPhone Air at Tuesday's Apple presentation attracted a lot of attention, it's possible that this marks the beginning of something new for both Apple and the smartphone market. The iPhone Plus models, which have been popular for years, will be replaced by this new iPhone for Apple. However, in contrast to those larger iPhones, this one also provides access to Apple's Pro processor line. The device places Apple in an odd position, particularly in price-conscious areas like India, even if the company believes it would satisfy consumers who demand a small and light iPhone with Pro features. Customers will inquire as to whether this is a more affordable iPhone Pro or a larger iPhone. Although it costs more than a standard iPhone, this model only has one camera in comparison to basic iPhones. Then, this will serve people who want a gadget that is slimmer and more powerful but aren't particularly concerned about its camera capabilities. The slim, light, and nearly weightless iPhone Air, weighing only 165 grams, lives true to its name. At only 5.64 mm thick, it's one of the thinnest iPhones ever, and its titanium construction makes it strong without adding weight. It's the type of phone that practically blends into your pocket or purse.

Abhishek Bachchan petitions the Delhi High Court to defend his personality rights.

Mumbai: Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan has filed a case in the Delhi High Court to have his personality rights protected, claiming that rogue websites were violating his name and image.Later in the day, Justice Tejas Karia will hear this request, which follows his wife and actress Aishwarya Rai's court appearance in a related case. Bachchan has appealed against Bollywood Tee Shop, a website that sells t-shirts featuring Bollywood stars. The website and other infringers were the targets of the petition, which claimed that the unauthorized use of his persona was a part of a larger trend of online fraud that takes advantage of celebrities' identities.According to Bachchan's plea, the website and other violators should be blocked, infringement-related URLs should be taken down, and Google and YouTube should be ordered to remove illegal content. Additionally, he asked that the order be extended to "John Doe" defendants, who are unnamed parties who might host similar infringing material in the future. One kind of court order against anonymous or unknown people is called "John Doe." In intellectual property and personality rights situations, it permits a celebrity, brand, or copyright owners to block not just the known infringers but also future or unnamed offenders who may misuse their name, image, or material.Bachchan's official lawyer, Dhruv Anand, asserted that the site was selling items, giving the false impression that he was endorsing it.

On its third day at the box office, The Conjuring: Last Rites India recorded Hollywood's largest opening weekend of 2025!

The Conjuring: Last Rites debuted in theaters on September 5, 2025, and horror enthusiasts from all over India went to the theaters this past weekend. After being released in four languages—English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu—the movie shot to the top of the charts, taking the top spot both domestically and internationally. In its three-day opening weekend at the Indian box office, the ninth installment in the hugely successful Conjuring Universe franchise premiered on 2,130 screens, including IMAX, and brought in an incredible 49.54 crore net (58.45 crore gross). This outstanding start makes it Warner Bros.' best-ever opening in India and the largest opening for a Hollywood horror film in the nation. It also recorded Hollywood's largest opening weekend of 2025.Over the years, the Conjuring movies have gained a sizable fan base in India thanks to their reputation for fusing jump scares with spooky, real-life-inspired narratives. With a stronger sense of closure, Last Rites carries on that custom. Franchise mainstays Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga return to their roles as renowned paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren in the movie, taking on one of their most challenging and sinister cases to date. The picture is produced by seasoned franchise designers James Wan and Peter Safran and directed by Michael Chaves, who has previously directed The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It and The Curse of La Llorona. With a total global box office total of over $2 billion, the Conjuring Universe solidifies its status as one of the most lucrative horror franchises in contemporary filmmaking with Last Rites. However, the thrill—the screams, the chills, and that distinctive Conjuring atmosphere that keeps viewers coming back for more—is more important to audiences than the figures.

An examination of some significant fashion moments that shaped Giorgio Armani's legacy, from Richard Gere to Alia Bhatt

Giorgio Armani, a wealthy brand owner and renowned Italian fashion designer, passed away at the age of 91. He was the epitome of Italian grace and style, reinventing suits for both men and women for a contemporary market. Originally a fashion brand, Armani has since branched out into luxury hotels, music, cosmetics, scent, and sports. As the world laments the death of a trailblazing designer, we examine some of his most memorable fashion moments that still influence how we view luxury and style today.Richard Gere's appearance in the 1980 movie American Gigolo was the fashion event that really catapulted Armani into international fame. Julian, played by Gere, wore Armani's ground-breaking soft-shouldered suits, which contrasted with the period's stiff, structured menswear. A new manly image that was both sensual and powerful was established by the loose silhouettes and flowing, unlined jackets. Armani became linked with elegant masculinity as a result of this societal transition. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Armani's partnership with actress Michelle Pfeiffer revolutionized power dressing. Her appearances in Armani's flowing, architectural designs demonstrated the harmony between strength and softness. Pfeiffer's appearances on the red carpet wearing Armani's distinctive draped silhouettes and muted color schemes served as the model for contemporary celebrity fashion.Alia Bhatt's attendance at Cannes 2025 was a turning point for Armani's worldwide impact as well as Bollywood fashion. At Cannes 2025, Alia Bhatt debuted her second look, looking lovely in a blue Armani Privé gown embellished with jewels. At the red carpet, the actor's sparkling headgear stole the show as she changed into what many called a bejeweled goddess.Leonardo DiCaprio and Armani have a long history together, and their connection has resulted in many unforgettable red carpet events. His attendance at important award shows wearing Armani's flawlessly fitted tuxedos has continuously shown the designer's ability to produce clothing that is both classic and up to date.
