Australia Women vs. India Women LIVE Score Updates, First ODI: Australia wins easily thanks to Beth Mooney's elegant 76

At the Allan Border Field in Brisbane on Tuesday, Australia won the first ODI by six wickets with 70 balls remaining. Alyssa Healy also struck a strong half century, making the run chase of 215 appear effortless. While Kashvee Gautam played a beautiful hand further down the order and Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur hit half-centuries, it was difficult for the Indian hitters. Jemimah Rodrigues followed immediately after Pratika Rawal and Shafali Verma fell. Soon after reaching her half-century, Mandhana fell, and India found it difficult to gain pace in the middle overs.India reached 214 all out in 48.3 overs as Harmanpreet and Kashvee's partnership for the eighth wicket helped them surpass 200. While Alana King took only one wicket but was difficult for India's hitters to dismiss, Ash Gardner took three for Australia. In India's opening game following their World Cup victory in November, Harmanpreet Kaur had previously chosen to bat first. India had won the first and third games of the multi-format series, taking a 4-2 lead (in points) after defeating Australia 2-1 in the T20I leg. Before the hosts, headed by a newcomer in Sophie Molineux, responded in the second game in Canberra to tie the series at one, the Harmanpreet-led team won the rain-affected opening Twenty20 International by 21 runs in Sydney. In Adelaide, India defeated Australia by 17 runs thanks to a stylish 82 from Smriti Mandhana.

Suryakumar believes India will win the T20 World Cup.

Suryakumar Yadav, captain of India, thinks his team can quickly recover from their defeat to South Africa and advance to the ICC Men's T20 World Cup knockout stages. India was defeated by the Proteas by 76 runs in Ahmedabad on Sunday, ending a 12-match winning streak. They now have a difficult job to defend the title they famously won in Barbados in 2024. This was India's first defeat of the T20 World Cup.In order to go to the semi-finals, Suryakumar's team will now probably need to win their remaining Super Eight games against Zimbabwe and the West Indies. However, if the Proteas stay undefeated during this round, one victory might be sufficient.Zimbabwe will be India's next opponent in Chennai on Thursday, and Suryakumar doesn't believe his squad needs to make many changes to get back to winning ways. When asked what India needs to perform well for the rest of the competition, a candid Suryakumar responded, "Hopefully, we bat well, bowl well, and field well."That's all. We'll make an effort to keep things easy. I believe we'll return strong if we play the same style of cricket that we want to play and nothing changes."India isn't anticipated to make many changes before their matches against Zimbabwe and the West Indies, but the team is worried about the performance of their top-ranked T20I batsman, Abhishek Sharma, who was dismissed cheaply for just 14 against the Proteas once more. Suryakumar laments the loss of early wickets during the run chase as India faltered in response to South Africa's score of 187/7, and the left-hander was one of three players removed during the Powerplay."If you're chasing 180-185, you can't win the game in the Powerplay, but you might lose the game in the Powerplay," the captain of India thought.

T20 World Cup, India vs. Pakistan: Salman Agha considers the "big picture" following defeat, while Suryakumar dedicates victory to India

Following a humiliating loss in a match that never lived up to its blockbuster billing, India captain Suryakumar Yadav dedicated Sunday's (February 16, 2026) Twenty20 World Cup triumph over Pakistan to supporters nationwide, while his opposite number, Salman Agha, encouraged perspective. As India amassed 175-7 and then went back to bundle out Pakistan for 114 in 18 overs, the much-anticipated showdown between the South Asian neighbors, who engaged in a military crisis that almost erupted into a full-fledged war last year, failed to ignite.Despite the tensions, the game itself went without any flashpoints, but the opposing captains did not shake hands during the toss. When the coin was flipped, Salman and Suryakumar avoided eye contact and appeared solemn. When the India captain addressed at the R. Premadasa Stadium following the game, the atmosphere was very different."This is for the Indian market. With a broad smile, the batter remarked, "We played the same brand of cricket that we wanted to play."Ishan Kishan was praised by Suryakumar for his quick 77, which helped them win.Ishan Kishan batted in the same manner as he did on the domestic circuit and in our prior games. Ishan took charge of the powerplay and had an unconventional idea."India v Pakistan is a special game for us and our country," Kishan said. "This is a crucial game. We attempted to play excellent shots, but they had fantastic spinners. We feel more confident moving further in the competition.

Pakistan Minister Establishes 'Suryakumar Yadav Condition' for Asia Cup Trophy Transfer to India

In light of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) rejecting requests for a trophy handover ceremony, Asian Cricket Council (ACC) leader Mohsin Naqvi has reportedly introduced a new condition to break the deadlock regarding the Asia Cup 2025. During an ACC meeting on Tuesday, BCCI officials Rajeev Shukla and Ashish Shelar put Naqvi on the defensive by requesting that the trophy be stored in the Asian body's Dubai office for shipping to India.Naqvi, however, demonstrated little to no willingness to comply with the requests from the Indian board. A report by the Pakistani media outlet Geo Super states that Naqvi even opposed the mention of the trophy handover in the meeting, as it was not included in the original agenda. During a virtual meeting, Naqvi informed Rajeev Shukla, "This item was not included in the agenda for the ACC meeting." Naqvi, in response to the BCCI's insistence on the trophy's return, stated: "If the Indian team wants the trophy, the captain can come to the ACC office and collect it from me. "Witnessing Naqvi's lack of cooperation, the BCCI warned the heads of the ACC and PCB that if the trophy is not transferred to the Indian team within a specified timeframe, they will lodge a complaint with the ICC concerning this issue. As PTI reported, a source stated, “It was clarified that the BCCI would lodge a complaint with the ICC, and Shelar made a brief exit from the meeting.” During the tournament, the two teams faced off three times, with India emerging victorious on each occasion, including in the final. During the event, India upheld a 'no-handshake policy' with Pakistani players, which angered the PCB.Following the Pahalgam terror attack, where Pakistan-backed terrorists killed 26 Indian tourists, tensions between the two neighbors have reached unprecedented levels.

BPL week two Nawaz advances undefeated Khulna, Sylhet, continues to lose

Chattogram's surprising hero was Oman's Bilal Khan, despite Barishal's Shoaib Mailk's sudden exit from the BPL.In the second week of the BPL's current 2023–24 season, all eight matches took place in Sylhet, which is regarded as the nation's best batting track. Even though Sylhet Strikers failed to score in five attempts, Khulna Tigers managed to stay unbeaten, having won four of their last five games. These are a few of the week's most noteworthy moments. While Khulna, who lead the table, continued their winning streak from the previous week with two more victories this time around, Chattogram Challengers were also playing well, having won three straight games to move into second place. Rangpur Riders also recovered from a loss at the beginning of the week with a pair of significant victories.Khulna, captained by Anamul Haque and featuring a sizable West Indies team, defeated Rangpur by 28 runs before destroying Durdanto Dhaka by ten wickets in a 131-run chase that they finished with over five overs remaining. Khulna's all-around player, Muhammad Nawaz, was the standout of both matches. Against Rangpur, he hit 55 off 34 balls and claimed two wickets; against Dhaka, he claimed 3 for 15. In addition to Nawaz, Anamul and Evin Lewis's constancy have helped Khulna.Conversely, Chattogram prevailed in both of this week's games. While they were just able to defeat 193 against Fortune Barishal by ten runs, they were dominant against Sylhet, taking 138 wickets at a cost of only 14 deliveries. Last season's finalists, it was Sylhet's fifth consecutive defeat. In addition to losing to Chattogram, they also suffered crushing losses to Barishal and Comilla Victorians.Mashrafe Mortaza, who was injured and commanded the team despite not bowling frequently, could have contributed to Sylhet's bad run. Since then, Mashrafe has made the decision to pause the competition in order to concentrate on his political efforts. It was "not ideal" that he was still in the side, as he had previously acknowledged. Since dew seemed to become less of an issue at the picturesque Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, the switch from Mirpur in the first week to Sylhet in the second may have contributed to the majority of wins for sides batting first. The chasing side won all eight games in Mirpur.Meanwhile, Barishal's Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik was the subject of a persistent off-field controversy. Malik bowled as many as three no-balls in an over against Khulna the week before, and Barishal owner Mizanur Rahman wasn't happy about it, saying "that's where we lost that match" as Khulna easily chased down 188. After just three games, on January 26, Mailk abruptly left the BPL, despite the fact that Malik's contract was "till February 14," according to Mizanur. Rumors of a rift within the team ensued after that, however Malik later clarified that it was untrue.

What Adjustments Will Rohit Sharma Make To Replace Rahul And Jadeja In Vizag Against England?

What Adjustments Will Rohit Sharma Make To Replace Rahul And Jadeja In Vizag Against England?

India's selection dilemma is severe as they look to recover from a rare home loss to England in the second Test. Ravindra Jadeja and K L Rahul suffered untimely injuries. Before England turned the tables on the formidable hosts in the Hyderabad Test, Jadeja and Rahul were two of India's top performers in the first innings. During the Hyderabad Test, Jadeja hurt his hamstring going for a quick single, and Rahul reported having pain in his right quadriceps. The home team's problems are exacerbated by the duo's unavailability; they were obviously taken aback by England's "Bazball" tactic.   With his outstanding all-around skills, Jadeja renders himself practically unreplaceable, and since recovering from surgery in September, Rahul has also emerged as one of India's most valuable hitters in both the ODI and Test formats.   Virat Kohli remains unavailable due to personal reasons and after a shock reverse in the series opener, the management will be missing him even more in Visakhapatnam where the second Test begins on Friday. With Sarfaraz Khan, Sourabh Kumar, and Washington Sundar added to the squad, selectors have ample options for Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid to choose from.   Rajat Patidar, who was also among the 15 in Hyderabad, is an obvious choice. With Kuldeep Yadav replacing Jadeja as the third spinner behind R Ashwin and Axar Patel, he could replace Rahul in the middle order.   Another option for India is to play one pacer for four spin options, just like England did in the first game.In that scenario, Kuldeep could replace Mohammed Siraj, and the team could then include Sarfaraz Khan or Washington to strengthen the middle order.   Sourabh can be a dark horse in that race because he is a decent batsman with a couple of hundreds in first class cricket and bowls left-arm spin like Jadeja.   There have been two Test matches played at Visakhapatnam's ACA-VDCA Stadium to date, and the pitch is typically batting friendly, at least in the first innings.   When India batted first at this location back in 2019, they amassed 502 points in the opening innings against South Africa, with Mayank Agarwal recording a double hundred and Rohit putting up a quick 176 in his first-ever Test innings.Anil Kumble, a spin legend, believes wrist spinner Kuldeep's inclusion in the eleven will be beneficial.   "Having Kuldeep will definitely help if India feels that they only need one fast bowler. Although he will make some changes, England will visit and follow their Hyderabadi model "Kumble informed the host broadcaster.   "We anticipate a quicker pace than this, and this wicket could be a turning point. Even though it moved slowly, this was a good wicket if you put in the work. India's strategy for playing against spin needs to be adjusted for sure.Additionally, I thought that the way England approached their batting rattled them, and as a result, they had to devise some unusual plans. The spin trio was under pressure from England's constant sweeping approach, so he said, "They never tried any variations so that's something I am sure they will be looking to do."   Washington, a left-handed batsman who bowls off-spin with his right hand, also has a good case for selection after demonstrating a lot of promise during his four Test career.   He played in three games in the previous home series against England in 2021 after making his debut in the historic Test victory at the Gabba.During that series, Washington took two wickets in a match that was dominated by front-line spinners Ashwin and Axar, scoring 85 and 96 not out in five innings.   The all-rounder is a utility player, according to former selector Sarandeep Singh, who witnessed Washington make his Australian debut. However, Singh would rather not make many changes to the starting eleven.   For me, it's not too tough. Kuldeep takes the place of Jadeja, and Rajat Patidar replaces Rahul. Unlike England, we do not have to play four spinners. Our strongest point when playing at home has been using three spinners and two pacers. The former spinner for India stated, "We must adhere to it.

New Zealand versus India Real-time score Musheer Khan leads India in the U19 World Cup 2024 Super Six with an outstanding hundred.

Live score for the IND U19 vs. NZ U19 World Cup 2024 cricket match: With three straight victories under their belt, reigning champions India will try to maintain their winning streak when they play New Zealand in their U-19 World Cup super six stage match on Tuesday.India will have the added benefit of playing on Tuesday at the Mangaung Oval, where they have played all three of their current matches, having advanced to the super six stage as the leaders of Group A.Conversely, New Zealand moved here from East London and will need to swiftly adjust to the environment. India defeated Bangladesh, Ireland, and the United States with relative ease. The 'Boys in Blue' performed admirably in the next two games, despite the record five-time winners' slight batsmanship versus their Asian opponents in the first game. The fact that at least one or two Indian hitters raised their hands and accepted responsibility for scoring runs is what makes them the best on the squad. Third batter in the order The Mumbai batter who has been a regular in the lineup, Mursheer Khan, is the younger brother of Sarfaraz. After the group stage, Mursheer is the third-highest run scorer in the tournament with a century and a fifty.Since he hasn't been able to build on his two starts in the past two games, Adarsh Singh will be hoping to score a lot, while fellow opener Arshin Kulkarni will be feeling quite confident following his incredible century. Uday Saharan, the captain, has had a significant innings and will try to keep it up.Naman Tiwari, a left-arm pacer, has shown exceptional skill with the ball when bowling. In the next two games, he has taken four wickets apiece after going wicketless against Bangladesh. Saumy Pandey, a left-arm spinner who aims to target the stumps with reasonably accurate deliveries, has also shown promise. He currently has eight scalps and the second-best economy (2.01) in the competition. New Zealand had two victories from three games to finish second in Group D. In the tournament, the Kiwi batting lineup has not fared well. They managed to win by a whisker against Afghanistan, where they were chasing a meek 91 runs, but they lost badly versus Pakistan, losing by ten wickets, being bowled out for 140. The onus will be on the Kiwi hitters to support the bowling unit against a strong India lineup. Every team will carry over the points and NRR they earned against other Super Six qualifying clubs, thus both sides will also be monitoring their NRR. The Groups: India: Aravelly Avanish Rao, Saumy Kumar Pandey, Murugan Abhishek, Innesh Mahajan, Dhanush Gowda, Aaradhya Shukla, Raj Limbani, Sachin Dhas, Priyanshu Moliya, Musheer Khan, Aravelly Avanish Rao, and Uday Saharan (c).

Wasim Jaffer desires that Shubman Gill open with Yashasvi Jaiswal and that Rohit Sharma be dropped to No. 3 in the batting order.

Two Indian batsmen who are totally out of form, Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer, may not be selected for the upcoming Test matches if the dry spell lasts.Anticipate a few changes in the Indian side following their defeat in the first Test match against England in Hyderabad. Rajat Patidar could be a good choice for India instead of Shreyas Iyer. Iyer has been a letdown for a while, thus India's No. 5 spot is up for grabs. Despite his lackluster returns, Shubman Gill could be able to hold onto his spot because there is currently no suitable substitute for him. However, a former Indian batsman believes that Gill starting the innings rather than batting at number three is preferable.Shubman Gill, who is waiting for his time to bat at Number 3, seems to be receiving no assistance, according to former India opening batsman Wasim Jaffer. Jaffer suggested that Rohit Sharma, the captain of India, drop to No. 3 and allow Gill to start the innings. "I think Rohit should bat at number three in the second test, and Gill and Jaiswal should open. " Shubman would be better off opening the inn than waiting to bat for his turn. Rohit is an excellent spin player, so he shouldn't be too concerned about batting at number three. Jaffer tweeted, "#INDvENG."Jaffer presents an intriguing perspective, but it's also true that Gill wanted to bat at No. 3 for India after Cheteshwar Pujara was fired and Yashasvi Jaiswal replaced him as the opener. However, Gill has not truly lived up to the role since assuming it. He has a history of failure, and a few more setbacks might see him go because many talented hitters who have competed in the Ranji Trophy are waiting for their opportunity.India might substitute Kuldeep Yadav for Ravindra Jadeja and Patidar for Iyer for the two changes that they might make for the second Test. Given that the spin trio of R Ashwin, Axar Patel, and Jadeja was unable to influence the game, Kuldeep's selection is highly likely. Although Jadeja's hamstring injury forces Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid to start Kuldeep in place of the injured all-rounder, Kuldeep would have like to have taken Axar's spot.On February 2, the second Test gets underway in Visakhapatnam. It's very possible that the pitch for the second Test will be turning from day one, which will aid the spinners.Second Test between India and England: Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Rajat Patidar, KS Bharat, Axar Patel, R Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Kuldeep Yafav are the probable eleven (with input from Jaffer).

England leads India by 126 runs on Day 3 of the first Test thanks to a century from Ollie Pope.

On day three of the first Test match between England and India, here on Saturday, Ollie Pope's undefeated 148 in the second innings propelled his team to 316 for six at stumps.Ollie Pope's century helped England comeback from a 190-run deficit in the first innings to build a 126-run advantage in the second. They finished with 316 for six.Despite England holding a 126-run lead with four wickets remaining and Ollie Pope reaching 148*, India's bowling coach Paras Mhambrey stated that his team was not under duress.Day 3 of the first Test began with India leading by 175 runs, with Axar Patel hoping to consolidate his position as an all-rounder and a well-positioned Ravindra Jadeja aiming for his fourth Test century. There was a great chance that England would be bowled out of the game. The host broadcaster informed Kevin Pietersen in jest at the conclusion of the day that his request for a flight on Saturday had been turned down. Thanks to a brilliant century from Ollie Pope, England not only made sure India's advantage stayed below 200, but they also built a respectable lead of 126 runs.Day 3 of the first Test began with India leading by 175 runs, with Axar Patel hoping to consolidate his position as an all-rounder and a well-positioned Ravindra Jadeja aiming for his fourth Test century. Thanks to a brilliant century from Ollie Pope, England not only made sure India's advantage stayed below 200, but they also built a respectable lead of 126 runs.It was hardly a perfect day for England. Even Ravichandran Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah, two of India's top players, would concede that Pope may have produced the greatest knock by an international batsman in recent memory. In Chennai in 2021, Joe Root did indeed score a double century, but the circumstances and match setup were very different.Pope amassed 17 boundaries in an innings full of sweeps and reverse sweeps, the majority of which kept him undefeated at 148 off 208 balls. Even after Ashwin destroyed England's skipper Ben Stokes at 163 for 5, India was still 27 runs short of batting again. That's when things started to change in the contest.Ben Foakes and Pope teamed together to put together a crucial 123-run partnership for the sixth wicket. Axar Patel bowled Foakes with a low delivery, but Pope ensured that the England supporters could relax at the end of the game. What does it signify for India, though? With four wickets in hand, including Pope's wicket, England lead by 126 runs. Before they bat in the fourth innings, do they worry? According to bowling instructor Parash Mhambrey, no. We don't have a specific target in mind to chase, since our main goal is to arrive tomorrow morning, take early wickets, and lower their total."By establishing a goal, we are not placing any strain on ourselves. In his news conference following the game, Mhambrey stated, "We just want to bowl in the right places to extract turn and bounce from the wicket." Mhambrey derived his confidence from the fact that the pitch's turn is simple to negate because it is not a sharp turn.

India defeated Ireland by 201 runs in Bloemfontein thanks to their dominance with the bat and the ball. Naman Tiwari's 4/53 and Saumy Pandey's 3/21 supported Musheer Khan's explosive century as India easily won.Despite the absence of a few important players, Australia won by 225 runs in Kimberley. They nearly reached 300 thanks to Harry Dixon's 89 before the bowlers helped Zimbabwe be dismissed for just 71.Scorecard Ireland chose to field after winning the toss. In Bloemfontein, India was in cruise control.Ireland's disciplined approach limited India's opportunities to score in the first overs. In the seventh over, Arshin Kulkarni produced India's first boundary with a free-flowing drive.Adarsh Singh opened his arms against John McNally in the ninth over after being cautious earlier. He hammered the medium pacer for two consecutive fours, but as he attempted to go for a third straight four, he was soon caught behind. While Musheer Khan continued to move the ball about, India was able to maintain a four-run average each over. When Kulkarni attempted to withdraw McNally and force the scoring rate, Ireland had another. But the stroke's lack of strength ultimately proved to be his undoing. After reaching the wicket, captain Uday Saharan and Musheer rebuilt the innings together. The first boundary of the pair's stand came in the 31st over as they batted patiently before raising their arms. After that, the scoring rate increased, culminating in a combative play during the last Powerplay. In the 42nd over, India scored 200 runs.Saharan left the game in the 45th over, having made a solid 75, but Musheer persisted till the very end. After reaching a well-deserved hundred, he and the belligerent Aravelly Avanish led India to 300. And even though India lost four wickets in the final 15 balls, a cameo from Sachin Dhas (21* from 9) made sure that the team reached the threshold.Musheer finished with 118 runs, nine fours and four sixes. Ireland didn't lose a wicket in the first overs, but the Indian bowlers also managed to keep them under check. When Saumy Pandey dismissed Jordan Neill in the sixth over, the Boys in Blue took the lead. Naman Tiwari made an instant impression in his fifth over after having trouble with his lines early in the innings. In the course of four balls, he removed Ryan Hunter and Phillipe le Roux from the game.In the second Powerplay, Ireland's innings collapsed. The opening ball of the eleventh over was a short ball that gave Tiwari another wicket. After exactly six balls, Pandey reached his second thanks to a deft stumping by Avanish. And when the disciplined Dhanush Gowda came back for his second spell, Murugan Abhishek's amazing aerial catch helped him get off to a great start. In the fourteenth over, Pandey claimed his third wicket as the wickets kept falling. Then in the fifteenth, Tiwari struck again, leaving Ireland eight down. Ireland managed to hold on for a little while longer thanks to a strong ninth-wicket combination between Daniel Forkin and Oliver Riley, but an overwhelming Indian victory appeared certain. In the 29th over, Ireland was dismissed by bowling. Musheer Khan's game-winning ton earned him the title of Player of the Match. India has easily won Group A with its decisive victory.

According to Prasad, the ECB disregarded the proper procedures and then complained about them. "In the UK, his visa needed to be stamped. Thinking it would be stamped in a third nation, the ECB sent Shoaib Bashir to the United Arab Emirates. Indias Top Players Give Ravichandran Ashwin-Ravindra Jadeja Duo Huge Applause

Anil Kumble, a former captain of India, has high praise for veteran spin twins Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin amidst the ongoing first Test match between India and England in Hyderabad. In Test cricket, the two players have taken more than 500 wickets between them; in the first innings against England, they each claimed three wickets. India has only lost four Test matches in their 49 matches together, winning 35 of them. On Ashwin and Jadeja surpassing him and Harbhajan as India's most successful Test bowling pair, Kumble hailed the achievement as "incredible".  From their first test match together to the 41st, these two spinners have been under constant pressure. It is amazing that they have survived those times and produced performances that win matches, whether it be Ashwin, Jadeja, or both," Kumble remarked.   "They have occasionally both caught five-fers. It's amazing that someone can consistently pick up five in the first and five in the second when someone else picks up five in the first. He continued, "You can't expect your team to win 30 games out of 40 when you do that."The renowned spinner added that Ashwin and Jadeja's aggressive mentality prevents the opposition batters from breathing. "These two are exceptionally intelligent. And because these two are always coming at you, it's difficult for a batter to breathe for even a single ball. The best thing about Indian conditions and spin bowling is that they are both endless. The attractive thing about these two bowlers is that they will be coming at you," Kumble said.   Kumble (281) and Harbhajan (220) had selected 501 for India in 54 Tests. In the meantime, in their 50th Test together, Ashwin and Jadeja have achieved a milestone.

First Test On day three, England battle to reach 89/1 at lunch.

England showed semblance of fight to score briskly on a fast-wearing uneven pitch to reach 89 for one at lunch against India on the third day of the first Test in Hyderabad on Saturday. Ben Duckett (38 batting) and Ollie Pope (16 batting) are at crease as the visitors were left to wipe out a massive deficit of 190 runs in their second innings. England still trail by 101 runs.India lost their opening essay after being bowled out for 436. Axar Patel (44), and Ravindra Jadeja (87) were unable to reach their individual century marks as the hosts could only add 15 runs to their 421 for seven overnight.Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley (31) of England, who were faced with a daunting assignment, did not panic and carried out their duties with tenacity. They continued the plan of using sweep and reverse sweeps to counter Indian spinners. To brighten the England camp, Crawley even hit Axar for a six over the sightscreen. The left-arm spinner let up more than seven runs per over throughout this time, while Ashwin scored more than five. However, India did not have to wait long for the initial success. Ashwin bowled around the wicket, creating a gap across Crawley, whose defensive prod resulted in an easy catch for Rohit Sharma at first slip.Previously, when play resumed in the morning, India's first innings did not last very long, finishing in 54 minutes. Jadeja lost leg before Joe Root and failed to get the much anticipated fourth Test hundred. When Jadeja moved to the front foot to stop an off-stump length delivery, the ball turned quite a little before hitting his pads. Umpire Chris Gaffaney chose to examine the call, and he raised his finger. Although there appeared to be a bat deflection, the replays were unable to provide a clear picture, therefore the third umpire decided to follow the on-field umpire's judgment.Indian innings came to an abrupt end as they lost the final three wickets without scoring any more runs. Root castled Jasprit Bumrah in the very next ball, while Rehan Ahmed thoroughly cleaned out Axar.

Explained: Rule That Made the Umpire Take One Run Off of Englands First Test Total Against India

A big confusion unfolded on Day 1 of the first Test between India and England in Hyderabad after Rehan Ahmed saw a run's deduction to his tally. The England batter, despite running a double before the overthrow from an Indian fielder, saw only 5 runs being awarded instead of 6, leaving fans in the stadium and on social media confused. However, the decision was correct because of the rule that the International Cricket Council (ICC) has for such scenarios.  Rehan flicked a full toss on the pads from India's Jasprit Bumrah behind square to the on-side. The fielder's wide throw beat the backup fielder and traveled directly to the boundary.    Rehan was given six runs at first, but the umpire changed his mind and declared that only five runs would be awarded because neither batter had crossed the other before the throw left the fielder's hand.Following a similar incident in the 2019 ODI World Cup final between England and New Zealand, the rule was given careful consideration. In that case, despite the fact that the two batters had not crossed each other, England were awarded 6 runs rather than 5.   What is stated in the rule? MCC rule 19.8 is relevant in this situation. Australias Glenn Maxwell was hospitalized

Australias Glenn Maxwell was hospitalized

"Although Glenn Maxwell is an essential component of Australia's white-ball team, head coach Andrew McDonald stated that he needs to ""hold up his end of the bargain"" in light of his ""less than ideal"" Adelaide incident. Maxwell was admitted to the Adelaide hospital last week after becoming intoxicated and passing out at a ""Six and Out"" concert, which featured former Australian pacer Brett Lee. He wasn't kept in the hospital for long and was discharged soon after and is now back in training.  I spoke with Glenn and we had a nice conversation about the incident yesterday. Moving forward, it needs to be taken into account that he takes care of himself,"" McDonald was cited as telling the Sydney Evening News. ""We've given him the opportunity to rest and rehab in that period of time and I suppose the lessons for him around that would be to take up his end of the bargain in that space and take care of himself."" Maxwell was rested for next month's three-match ODI series against the West Indies at home and he took the opportunity to attend a golf event in Adelaide before the incident took place."Glenn Maxwell should play cricket for Australia for the next three to four years, in our opinion. Is he going to be able to attend the 2027 World Cup in South Africa? Who knows? However, he's an important member of our white-ball teams," McDonald remarked.   "We're a much better team when he plays, and because of the terrible injury he sustained, some management measures will be implemented around him.   But for as long as possible, we want Glenn Maxwell to play for Australia. We're going to have to do our end, and Glenn is no doubt going to have to hold up his end of the bargain." This is not Maxwell's first experience.Maxwell was sidelined for months by this for the Australian team. In a bizarre accident that occurred in November of last year, he also suffered bruises and head injuries after falling from the back of a golf cart.   "From his and our perspectives, it's not ideal that the night ended the way it did, given all the information he's provided and the fact that he's had a few drinks. It's a sincere error," McDonald remarked.   "Of course, he needs to examine what he's doing on his end and determine whether it's the appropriate course of action at that particular moment. Fortunately, it doesn't cause any harm. He is now well." Maxwell has not yet participated in a limited-overs cricket match for Australia since his team's November return from India.Following his performance as the third-highest run scorer for Australia in the record-tying sixth edition of the ODI World Cup in India, Maxwell took part in a three-match T20I series in India and then played in the Big Bash League.   He ended as the Stars' second-highest run scorer, and starting on February 9, the West Indies T20Is are expected to see him maintain his impressive form.

Denied Foreign Leagues NOCs Pakistani athletes considering leaving the national team

The current PCB policy, which was finalized under Zaka Ashraf's leadership, permits centrally contracted players to participate in two overseas T20 competitions in addition to the PSL.Following their refusal of NoCs to play in overseas T20 tournaments, a few of Pakistan's best cricket players are considering ending their core contracts with the board. The majority of the centrally contracted players, according to sources in the club management, are angry with the board for denying them permission to play in foreign competitions even though they are not bound by any national service obligations. "The matter has come to a head because recently the board refused NOCs to some players including Zaman Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Muhammad Haris (all centrally contracted) to play in the Bangladesh Premier League on the grounds that they had already played two leagues besides the Pakistan Super League," according to a source. He claimed that centrally contracted players would be permitted to participate in two overseas T20 competitions in addition to the PSL, per the existing PCB regulation that was finalized under Zaka Ashraf's leadership."But for the players who are not centrally contracted there is no such binding unless they are required on national duty." But when it comes to giving NOCs, the majority of contractual players think the board is acting in accordance with a contradictory policy that is determined by whims and fancies."The players feel that when there is no Pakistan assignment before the PSL why should the board stop them from playing in other leagues where they have good contracts," a another insider stated."The players' grouse is that the PCB does not even pay them anything to cover the losses of contracts not accepted because of PCB policies." There may be additional earning opportunities for players because of the proliferation of profitable T20 leagues in the cricket globe. Currently, three leagues—the BPL, the International Emirates League in the United Arab Emirates, and the South Africa 20 League—are staged concurrently.According to a board official, players who adhere to league caps will receive compensation. This is because, under the terms of their central contracts, players receive a substantial monthly payment from the board regardless of whether they play or not."The top category players are getting paid around 6 million rupees salary, those in category B get around 4.8 million so why are they complaining," asked a source. However, an agent for one of the players said that the board withheld high taxes from their pay and that elite players were receiving offers to earn anywhere from $100,000 to $300,000 for participating in five or more league games. "Are you aware of Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi's contract values for the BPL and ILT? All that needs to be said is that one of them has a contract worth USD 300,000, or between 75 and 80 million rupees." He added that players who lacked financial resources relied heavily on the leagues as a source of income."I think when the new Chairman takes over there will be proper discussions between the players and board to resolve this NOCs issue."

Rahul Dravid on Indias strategy against England

Rahul Dravid on Indias strategy against England

India would design their strategies based on the scenarios that the contest presents to them in the rubber match, according to Rahul Dravid.Head coach Rahul Dravid stated that although he did not witness Indian batsmen responding in kind to England's "Bazball," they would not be regressing in the five-match Test series that starts here on Thursday. According to Dravid, India will design their strategies based on the scenarios that arise during the match. We're not going to try to be extremely aggressive, in my opinion. I believe that we try to play the cards that are dealt to us and the circumstances warrant. However, if you look at our top six-seven batsmen, you'll see that many of them are aggressive players who approach the game with a good attitude. Thus, they won't be attempting to alter that in any specific manner. There will be a variety of scenarios where we might have to bat for extended stretches of time or try to advance the game.In a Tuesday conversation, Dravid stated, "But I can't see any of my batsmen taking a backward step or looking to be defensive."Nonetheless, Dravid was confident that England would challenge the hosts fiercely in the series, and the head coach believed his squad would rise to the occasion by drawing on their prior experience playing in similar conditions."Watching them perform has been thrilling, and you can tell that they've had success doing it. They've achieved success in Pakistan. They had triumphed in New Zealand and had an incredible series in the Ashes against Australia. We must thus honor that. However, we are aware that they will have difficulties in these circumstances because we are familiar with them. Our attack is well-versed in our vast experience. Knowing that we'll be under pressure, I'm interested to watch how our boys react," Dravid added.Dravid also described the five-match series as an excellent opportunity for Indian players, both veteran and developing, to leave some outstanding legacy, given that India is scheduled to play a few more Tests in the current World Test Championship (WTC) cycle in the following months."I think it's important to let people play the manner they feel most comfortable. Their evaluation will be based on the outcomes they generate. They must, then, figure out how to play and get beyond it. However, they do have some positive experience."People such as Rohit have been in the game for a long time; Jaddu (Jadeja) and Ash (Ashwin) have been in the game for over ten years. KL (Rahul) has also been in the game for a long. "There is a lot of Test cricket (for us) over the next 12 to 18 months, so it's a really good opportunity for them to set some good markers over the course of the next five games." "After getting a taste of international cricket, it's a great chance for some of these young players to advance. I'm curious to follow their progress," he said.Due to personal reasons, star batsman Virat Kohli will miss the opening two Test matches against England. Although the squad would miss Kohli's presence and experience, Dravid stated that his absence presents an opportunity for another player to rise up and establish themselves. The fact that India will be playing a five-match Test series following a significant break thrilled the former skipper of India as well. India's most recent five-match series, which was played in a dispersed manner due to Covid fears, was against the same opponent during the pandemic era. "We are eagerly anticipating this. Because England's Test series is one of the most watched in the world, it's always exciting when they play. After a long break, there should be five excellent Test matches. "Both teams are likely to trade a lot of punches. I sincerely hope that you understand that we can get off to a quick start and perhaps hit a few balls early on," he said.

India has won two of their last four matches and have a PCT (Points Percentage System) of 54.16, placing them second in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023–25 points standings. Australia is at the top.Following Virat Kohli's decision to withdraw from the first two Tests of the five-match series against England, which begins on January 25 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad, the former captain of England, Kevin Pietersen, has spoken out in favour of the cricket player.Pietersen expressed his support for Virat on the social media site "X," which was once Twitter, and asked others to "respect" the decision. "Respect it if a sportsmen withdraws for personal reasons! "End of!" Pietersen contributed to X. For the uninitiated, Virat asked to be removed from the first two Test matches against England by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), alleging personal concerns, and the board granted his request. "Virat has communicated with Captain Rohit Sharma, the team management, and the selectors, emphasizing that although serving his nation has always come first, there are personal matters that require his full attention. "The BCCI respects his decision and the Board and team management has extended its support to the star batter and is confident in the abilities of the remaining squad members to step up and deliver commendable performances in the Test series," a press release issued by the BCCI stated. The nation's premier cricket organization also asked supporters to "support the Indian cricket team as they embark on the upcoming challenges in the Test series" and "respect Virat Kohli's privacy during this time and refrain from speculating on the nature of his personal reasons."

In the presence of Shah Rukh Khan, Andre Russell recreates an iconic pose. His Reaction is

Shah Rukh Khan, the superstar of Bollywood, and the explosive West Indies batter are known to have a mutual admiration for each other. Russell joined the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2014, and throughout the years, his tributes on social media to team co-owner Shah Rukh Khan have gained a lot of traction. Russell decided to give SRK a unique tribute on the field following the game on Sunday while he was in attendance at the ILT20 between the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders and Desert Vipers. As the crowd applauded, Russell, who competes for the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, spread his arms wide and even flaunted his muscles in a recreation of the famous SRK pose.   To that, SRK gave the West Indies all-rounder a round of applause and a flying kiss of thanks. Along with encouraging Russell and the fans, the actor also urged him to flex his muscles.Desert Vipers were defeated by Knight Riders by a margin of six wickets.   Russell previously appeared in a video that KKR posted, in which he was seen expressing his feelings while watching the trailer for Shah Rukh Khan's 2023 film "Jawan."    "Whoa, He thus has multiple roles in this film. Thus, I believe it will be another successful film. I really enjoy the action and Shah Rukh's small comedic moments. Since this is only the trailer, try to picture viewing the entire film. In the video, Russell said, "Hopefully it's airing in Guyana so we can all go watch it."
