One of the biggest holidays observed globally is Christmas. Joy, happiness, hope, and holiday spirit accompany it. But for other people, Christmas can occasionally feel lonely. "For some people, this isn't necessarily the joyous, festive season. There are various reasons why some of us might feel a little alone over the holidays, from the strain of picture-perfect celebrations to the stress and fatigue before the holidays. During this time, family conflicts, social anxiety, major life changes, and the death of loved ones can all be quite heavy. Therapist Lalitaa Suglani noted, "Other factors like mental health issues or just feeling overstimulated by the holiday season can also contribute to that feeling of being alone in a crowded room."(Norton Splash)
