Goa is considered the "worst place to be" by some. Particularly those who have had such unpleasant encounters that they will never return. However, the phrase "Yaar Goa chale kya?" appears in every discussion about travel. The desire is still there, even if the trip doesn't end up in the group conversation. Goa still has a place on the bucket list, even if it's just that one unchecked mark.Goa continues to be the preferred travel destination in India for 51% of people, according to SOCIAL's most recent research, Voices of the Hood. Beaches, nightlife, music culture, and social travel experiences that represent freedom, companionship, and carefree getaways are what drive its lasting appeal for Gen Z and millennials.

However, what about excessive tourism, escalating hostility between residents and visitors (the cab dispute is real, by the way), and the persistent discussion about Goa being "overhyped"? We questioned tourists if they would still pick the location in spite of the criticism."I went to Goa for my brother's wedding but did not get the chance to explore it except for one scooter ride," says Atima Bakshi, 27. I would love to visit the "Dil Chahta Hai" location and go on a monsoon trail, but I am also eager to explore the surrounding hinterlands.
