Pakistan Minister Establishes 'Suryakumar Yadav Condition' for Asia Cup Trophy Transfer to India
In light of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) rejecting requests for a trophy handover ceremony, Asian Cricket Council (ACC) leader Mohsin Naqvi has reportedly introduced a new condition to break the deadlock regarding the Asia Cup 2025. During an ACC meeting on Tuesday, BCCI officials Rajeev Shukla and Ashish Shelar put Naqvi on the defensive by requesting that the trophy be stored in the Asian body's Dubai office for shipping to India.Naqvi, however, demonstrated little to no willingness to comply with the requests from the Indian board. A report by the Pakistani media outlet Geo Super states that Naqvi even opposed the mention of the trophy handover in the meeting, as it was not included in the original agenda. During a virtual meeting, Naqvi informed Rajeev Shukla, "This item was not included in the agenda for the ACC meeting." Naqvi, in response to the BCCI's insistence on the trophy's return, stated: "If the Indian team wants the trophy, the captain can come to the ACC office and collect it from me. "Witnessing Naqvi's lack of cooperation, the BCCI warned the heads of the ACC and PCB that if the trophy is not transferred to the Indian team within a specified timeframe, they will lodge a complaint with the ICC concerning this issue. As PTI reported, a source stated, “It was clarified that the BCCI would lodge a complaint with the ICC, and Shelar made a brief exit from the meeting.” During the tournament, the two teams faced off three times, with India emerging victorious on each occasion, including in the final. During the event, India upheld a 'no-handshake policy' with Pakistani players, which angered the PCB.Following the Pahalgam terror attack, where Pakistan-backed terrorists killed 26 Indian tourists, tensions between the two neighbors have reached unprecedented levels.

PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi Complains in Social Media Post Following His Asia Cup Final Trophy Incident
The Chief of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Interior Minister of the country, Mohsin Naqvi, who embarrassed himself internationally by taking the Asia Cup trophy after India declined to accept it from him, is now asserting that India has dishonored the spirit of the game. After suffering a crushing defeat to India, PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi—whose X account is withheld in India—reacted on the microblogging platform to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's congratulatory message following the match.“If war was how you gauged your pride, your shameful defeats against Pakistan are already chronicled in history. No cricket match can change that reality. Naqvi stated, "Dragging war into sport merely showcases desperation and dishonors the true spirit of the game. "PM Modi commended India’s renowned victory earlier, stating, “Operation Sindoor on the games field.” The result is identical: India wins! Congratulations to our cricketers.Naqvi's misunderstanding of historical events and facts is evident, and he requires a serious reminder of how often Pakistan has had to submit to Indian superiority in conflicts. Beginning with the signing of the Instrument of Surrender by Lieutenant General A.A.K. Niazi, head of Pakistani forces, to the Indian Army in 1971, which ended the war, and continuing through to the Kargil Conflict, where former PM Nawaz Sharif acknowledged their mistake in breaching the Lahore declaration.

The duo also secured qualification for the Candidates' Tournament. In a conversation with FIDE, Giri addressed the competitive nature of elite chess tournaments, noting that nearly all participants are on equal footing. „Ich denke, das Spielfeld ist derzeit sehr eben“, sagte er.In the interview I gave, people misunderstood it. I mentioned that a few players would exit, cited some names, and indeed, some of those players have fallen out of the top ten. I merely mentioned a lot of names. It was not focused on specific players, but rather in general terms. The Dutch GM went on, "I was referring to a concept that somehow all the top players at this moment don’t seem to have anyone who stands out, with all due respect."

BCCI Responds to Shreyas Iyer’s Sudden Exit from India A Squad
Shreyas Iyer’s unexpected withdrawal from the India A team raised several questions, especially with no official explanation at the time. The BCCI has now addressed the situation, stating that Iyer had informed team management about discomfort and was advised rest by medical staff. His exit, however, sparked speculation given his recent exclusion from the central contract list. A report suggests Iyer may have been unhappy with the way his situation was handled by selectors, though there’s no confirmation from the player himself. For now, the BCCI maintains that his health was the only reason behind the decision. As the conversation continues, fans await clarity on Iyer’s future with the national setup.

The Olympics gave France a rare sense of unanimity. Let's return to the political game now.
This once-brusque city has become an oasis of unity thanks to the Olympics. However, the political and social unrest that existed before the Games hasn't subsided.PARIS: On the banks of the Canal de Saint-Denis, it is one hour before dawn and the closing ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics has just concluded. But Parisian DJ Sara Zinger is spinning hit after hit for the youthful audience of hipsters, visitors, and volunteers who are wringing the last bit of positive energy out of these Games at a fan zone that lines a highway bridge close to the Stade de France. Whatever their bedtime, they are aware that France is going to awaken from its Olympic fantasy to a hard reality."Everyone was supporting the French athletes, Black or White, and the Olympics helped bring people together," said Mary Mathurin, 21, a student soaking up the last vestiges of this athletic carnival. "But as soon as we stop focusing on the sports, people are going to start arguing with each other again. "More than expected, the Olympics have brought smiles to Paris, a city known for its brusqueness, and have made the city an oasis. They have provided a sincere moment of pride and unanimity for this fragmented country. However, social unrest and political unrest plagued France before a ghostly metal horse rode down the Seine. Prior to the Games, the far-right garnered significant victories in elections throughout Europe, which led President Emmanuel Macron to convene an unexpected legislative session with the apparent intention of impeding its growth.

However, they faced an American team that executed flawlessly that day to achieve one of the most significant outcomes in the history of the sport. In the Super Over, Pakistan looked to Mohammad Amir, but the USA amassed 18 runs with only one boundary from Aaron Jones' bat thanks to three wides and several overthrows. Will India perform worse in the T20 World Cup due to IPL fatigue? Boys and Rohit Sharma compete in consecutive competitions
The United States and the West Indies will host the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 on June 1st, and the Indian cricket team, captained by Rohit Sharma, has a lot riding on their shoulders.India advanced to the 2023 World Cup finals, but they were defeated by Australia and were unable to win the championship.According to current statistics, the Indian Premier League is somehow connected to India's lack of performance at the ICC T20 World Cup. Due to player weariness and having just entered the T20 World Cup tournament following an over two-and-a-half-month IPL schedule, India was able to pass the Super 8s stage both in 2009 and 2010.There were twelve days that separated the 2009 T20 World Cup from the IPL. In contrast, there was a five-day hiatus in 2010. India lost the tournament in 2021 in the group stage, and there was an eight-day break between the two events. The issue now is, can India be able to stem the tide with just six days remaining before the T20 World Cup and the IPL?The lengthy schedule of the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL) tournament is often cited by critics as the reason for the players' exhaustion and the poor performance. The Indian Premier League (IPL) began this year on March 22 and ended on May 26, with the Kolkata Knight Riders, led by Shreyas Iyer, winning the trophy for the third time.Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, and Mohd. IPL 2024 Qualifier 2 What transpired during SRH and RRs lone playoff meeting?
IPL 2024 Qualifier 2: This Friday at Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium, the Sunrisers and Royals will square off in the Qualifier 2.On Friday, May 24, at Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium, SRH and RR will face off in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 Qualifier 2. After defeating RCB by 4 wickets in the eliminator on Wednesday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the Royals will be full of confidence. Player of the Match was to R Ashwin for of his economical spell. In the Qualifier 1 in Ahmedabad, however, the Sunrisers were defeated by Shreyas Iyer's KKR by an 8-wicket margin. The Orange Army would have another chance to make the final since they placed in the top two. Both teams are playing well going into the Qualifier 2. With a 10-9 advantage over their rivals, SRH appears to have traded blows with one another on an equal footing. There is only one postseason game in which the Royals and Sunrisers have played each other. At the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, RR defeated SRH by 4 wickets in the Eliminator back in 2013. After Brad Hodge hit an undefeated 54 off 29 balls with two fours and five sixes, he was named Player of the Match and helped the Royals chase down 134 with four balls remaining.Choosing to bat first, SRH amassed 132 runs in 20 overs at a cost of 7 wickets. Although Cameron White and Shikhar Dhawan scored 33 and 31, respectively, they were never able to apply more pressure. The Orange Army passed the 120-run threshold thanks to a 29-run, 21-inning effort by Daren Sammy. Among the RR bowlers, Vikramjeet Malik stood out with figures of 3-0-14-2.After that, Hodge's valiant efforts saw KKR win in 19.2 overs. Sanju Samson, the current captain, battled and was dismissed by Dale Steyn after scoring 10 runs off of 21 balls. The day was saved for RR by Hodge and James Faulkner's undefeated 33-run partnership of 21 deliveries.
Yuzvendra Chahal caused more damage to RCB than Virat Kohlis wicket in the elimination match.
The biggest blow to Royal Challengers Bengaluru's chances of making it to the Qualifier II was struck by a once-familiar figure. A pivotal moment in the game saw Yuzvendra Chahal, who played for RCB for eight seasons before being dropped in the 2022 auction, dismiss an in-form Virat Kohli. His lack of retention surprised them since he was one of their most reliable bowlers, taking the most wickets despite other players coming and going, was familiar with the peculiarities of the field, and had a strong emotional connection to the team. When RCB declined to sign him, he expressed his emotions in a podcast, saying, "I felt very bad." 2014 marked the beginning of my major journey. I would also argue that I received the India cap as a result of my performances for RCB since they offered me an opportunity to perform, which made me feel quite strange. I played for the club for eight years. To say that the RCB missed him this season would be an understatement. The Royals' Chahal alone claimed 18 wickets, while the RCB's spinners could only muster 22. They suffered even greater losses in three of the seven games they played at home. Thus, Chahal represents their defective auction procedures. Mike Hesson, a pundit and former coach, agreed. Setting out time for your bowling assault is crucial, and having a spinner who can take wickets for you at Chinnaswamy is also essential. They made some decisions and intended to alter the bowling attack just before the auction, which is where they went wrong, he told The Indian Express.Throughout the season, their lack of a quality spinner plagued them, as they relied on the rotation of Karn Sharma (nine games), Swapnil Singh (seven), and Mayank Dagar (five), in addition to all-rounder Glenn Maxwell. Throughout the season, none of them had the knowledge or experience necessary to be a main spinner. The medium pacers performed the majority of the work because they lacked a cutting edge. Sharma, who was utilized the most, bowled 24 overs, which is fewer than three overs a game on average. Even worse, they broke the bank of seam-bowling all-rounder Cameron Green rather than going after a spinner. Though there's no denying his talent, they didn't need his skill sets. "Green, the player they acquired in the trade, somewhat threw off the side's equilibrium." All of this meant that they didn't have as much cash as they would have liked to go into the auction and that they couldn't get the correct targets. Hesson states, "If you bind those two things, you probably won't have the bowling attack you would want going into an IPL season."
To go to the Malaysia Masters semifinals, PV Sindhu defeats top seed Han Yue in the quarterfinals.
PV In order to secure a quarterfinal matchup with Han Yue, Sindhu had defeated Kirsty Gilmour in her round of 32 match and South Korea's YJ Sim in her round of 16 match. India's top-ranked female shuttler is Sindhu. It is expected that Sindhu's victory will greatly increase her confidence because she has been finding it difficult to maintain her winning streak. It had been little over a month since the two shuttlers' first encounter, which she lost to Han Yue.On April 11 at the Asian Badminton Championships in Ningbo, China, Yue had put an end to Sindhu's run in a thrilling three-game match that ended 18-21, 21-13, 17-21. Notably, the silver medallist from the Rio Olympics has been struggling with bad form for a very long time, which has caused her to fall out of the top 10 female shuttlers in the world rankings.Sindhu, who is presently ranked fifteenth, is working really hard to build back her self-assurance so that she can have the best chance of competing for the gold medal in the upcoming Olympics in Paris.
