India announces a port limitation measure for shipments from Bangladesh.
New Delhi: The Indian Gazette has announced a port restriction on the import of specific commodities from Bangladesh into India. Monday was the official date of the gazette notification, which was published today.Following contentious comments made by Bangladesh's interim chief advisor Muhammad Yunus regarding the northeastern region of India during his visit to China, India has placed restrictions on the entry of Bangladeshi ready-made garments (RMG) and other products through its northeastern land ports, Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Mizoram, as well as Fulbari and Changrabandha in West Bengal. In a lecture in China, Yunus, the chief adviser for Bangladesh, referred to the northeastern provinces of India as a "landlocked region with no access to the ocean." Since Indian officials see this remark as undercutting the region's status and connectivity, it has caused diplomatic tension. Bangladesh was forced to reroute exports, including ready-made garments (RMG), plastics, melamine, furniture, juices, carbonated drinks, bakery goods, confectionery, and processed foods, through Kolkata port in West Bengal or Nhava Sheva port in Maharashtra due to the new restrictions, which were imposed on May 17 and went into effect immediately. This resulted in a significant increase in logistics costs.Previously, 93% of Bangladesh's exports to India went via these land routes, so the impact on the country's ready-made clothing industry, which sends around USD 740 million worth of clothing to India each year, might be significant. It is anticipated that the action will upend Bangladesh's apparel sector, increasing prices and restricting access to markets while opening up new prospects for Indian producers.

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE buzz grows as leaked specs tease exciting upgrades: All details
In recent developments, the much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S24 FE has been making waves in the rumor mill, thanks to a recent leak by prominent tipster @OreXda on X (previously Twitter). Although an official confirmation from Samsung is still pending, the leak hints at key specifications that might define the upcoming Galaxy S24 FE.According to the leaked information, the Galaxy S24 FE could potentially make its debut later this year, with the exact timing remaining uncertain. Possibilities range from an unveiling alongside the new foldable devices at the Galaxy Unpacked event in July to a release following its predecessor's timeline in October. One notable revelation in the leak revolves around a potential adjustment in the display size. The Galaxy S24 FE is rumored to feature a 6.1-inch AMOLED display, a slight reduction from the 6.4-inch screen found in the Galaxy S23 FE. This modification could cater to users who prefer a more compact phone design. Under the hood, the Galaxy S24 FE is speculated to be equipped with the Exynos 2400 processor. However, the leak introduces the possibility of a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, indicating that the global version might exclusively feature the Exynos, potentially omitting the Qualcomm option for specific regions like India. This aligns with Samsung's historical decisions regarding the FE lineup. The leaked details also suggest that the phone will boast 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, providing enhanced performance compared to its predecessor's 8GB RAM. Storage options are expected to include 128GB and 256GB UFS 3.1 variants. While information regarding the camera specifications, design elements, and color options remains undisclosed, the leak does mention a familiar 4,500mAh battery, mirroring the Galaxy S23 FE.It is crucial to approach this information with caution, as it is based on a leak and awaits official confirmation from Samsung.

Phone with 28,000mAh battery showcased, Energizer says it can last for a week
While I saw a lot of innovative devices at this year's MWC 2024 tech show, the thing that I was not expecting to see here is a smartphone with a whopping 28,000mAh battery under the hood. Well, I think you might be as surprised as I was after finding out about it. Moreover, this one even has a rugged build quality and the company is claiming that it is shockproof as well as waterproof too. At MWC 2024, Avenir Telecom showcased it as an Energizer Hard Case P28K device. It is like any other traditional smartphone in the market, but with a much bigger battery and good build quality. It seems the device might not be for a regular consumer because it is very bulky and almost feels like holding a big stone in hand. But, it is a perfect device for workers, maybe, who work in places like mining and more. The smartphone won't die soon and will last for a week, something that they might want to have. It will also not get damaged because of water - all thanks to its support for IP69 rating. I do believe that its robust battery capacity comes at a cost in terms of size and weight. Weighing 570g and measuring 27.8mm thick, it's substantially bulkier than conventional smartphones. Nevertheless, it supports fast charging up to 33W, allowing for a full charge in under an hour and a half. The device runs on Android and has all the Google apps as well. Marketed as the ultimate endurance phone, this device promises an entire week of regular usage and with an IP69 rating, the company is ensuring durability in harsh environments. With talk time rated at 122 hours and standby time extending up to 2252 hours, it seems like a dependable companion for extended periods without access to charging points. In terms of specifications, the P28K offers entry-level features with no 5G support and a MediaTek MT6789 processor. It includes 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, a trio of rear cameras, Android 14, and a 6.78-inch 1080p LCD display. Avenir Telecom plans to launch the Energizer Hard Case P28K in October 2024, priced at EUR 249.99, targeting global markets excluding the US. While it may not appeal to those seeking sleek designs or cutting-edge performance, the P28K caters to a niche audience prioritizing endurance and reliability in their mobile devices.

At MWC 2024, brands show the future of connected cars and aerial mobility
While Wireless and Mobile technologies took centerstage at the just concluded Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, there was also some spotlight at the connected cars and aerial mobility at arguably the world’s most important consumer tech show. The Smart Mobility Summit at MWC brought together industry leaders from both established automotive and drone companies, along with tech pioneers. The transportation and travel sectors face a dual challenge — increasing capacity and reducing emissions. Embracing digital transformation is crucial to overcoming these hurdles, paving the way for substantial growth in both connected cars and aerial mobility. And this transformation was the key topic of discussion among the industry executives who gathered at the summit. The aerial mobility market is expected to reach $68.1 billion by 2032, growing at 35.2 per cent annually. Connected car drivers in the US alone are projected to increase by 15.5 per cent by 2027, reaching 174.8 million. Mobile network technologies like 5G and network slicing enable new features like autonomous driving, piloting, and C-V2X communication. Additionally, the growing availability of technologies like 4G and LPWA lays the foundation for reliable, always-on connectivity for transportation networks. The discussions were also important because deploying connected transportation solutions varies by region and requires a deep understanding of available networks and technologies. Given that the MWC saw attendance of industry veterans from different parts of the world, they could share knowledge and discuss smart solutions relevant to them. Led by industry leaders and experts, the summit covered topics such as enhancing cars with new connected features, recent advancements and challenges in smart drones, and mid-to-long-term transformation, including the role of new network technologies, electrification, and the use of teleoperation and digital twins. The Smart Mobility Summit also presented a unique opportunity to industry veterans to connect with key players who are shaping the future of mobility.

Nothing is slated to launch the Phone 2a in India on March 5. Ahead of the launch, the British consumer technology startup runs a virtual unboxing video, which reveals the smartphone’s design and Glyph interface. Available on Nothing official handle on X (formerly Twitter), the virtual unboxing video highlights the horizontal camera island and transparent back cover on the rear. The Nothing Phone 2a back panel appears to be following the design language from the company’s previous smartphones. The frame also looks like it has a matte texture rather than a shiny metal finish. The Nothing Phone (2a) is set to launch in India on March 5 in an in-person launch event at Dwarka, Delhi. The company is selling tickets for the launch event that are available on PayTM Insider for Rs 999.In a run up to the launch, Nothing has confirmed several key specification details for the Phone (2a). The company previously announced that the smartphone will be powered by a custom-built MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro chipset accompanied by 12GB RAM. The smartphone will feature 8GB virtual RAM that Nothing calls “RAM Booster”. The MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro powering the Phone (2a) is based on TSMC's latest second-generation 4nm process technology. Massive, out-of-control satellite to crash into Earth today
The European Space Agency’s (ESA) ERS-2 satellite weighed 2.5 tonnes at launch and was cutting-edge technology when it launched in 1995. But now, the massive satellite is out of control and could hurtle into the planet’s atmosphere on Wednesday. ESA’s latest estimate suggests that ERS-2 will reenter the atmosphere at 9.19 PM on Wednesday, February 21. The risks of the satellite falling into populated areas is negligible but not non-existent. ERS-2 was the space agency’s second earth observation mission after ERS-1. It carried many payloads including a “Synthetic Aperture Radar” and a radar altimeter to study sea surface temperatures and winds. ERS-2 also had sensors for atmospheric ozone research. In the year 2001, after several of its on-board gyro systems failed, a group of engineers from ESA and other industries invented a new way to fly and control the satellite systems. After that, the on-board data storage system of the satellite failed in 2003. This meant that the mission had to be redesigned as “real-time,” meaning that it only relayed science data directly at the time of capturing it. These changes meant that the satellite could function well beyond its intended lifespan. After completing more than 82,000 orbits around the planet, the satellite’s mission ended on September 5, 2011. That is when they “passivated” the satellite, making sure that all its batteries and pressurised systems were emptied or made safe to avoid the chance of an explosion. But before ESA switched off all systems on board, they used the satellite’s remaining fuel for a series of manoeuvres that lowered its altitude from 785 kilometres to about 573 kilometres. That put the satellite on the path that finally sees it reentering the planet on Wednesday and ESA hasn’t been able to control it since then.
