Popcorn and movies have an old connection. Netflix understands this emotion very well and has strategically introduced its new Popcorn line in collaboration with Popcorn Indiana. The popcorn line is launched with its new summer collection of shows and movies to enhance the viewer’s experience.
BUT WHY POPCORN? WHY NOW?
Netflix has been a completely online platform with shows, movies and games. With all the hype around OTT platforms and the competitive landscape of the industry with players like Amazon, Disney Hotstar etc. Netflix needs to maintain its innovative presence. The best way is to introduce products which align with the main business. That’s what Netflix does. First they introduced Netflix Shop in June, 2021 in which the garments were customized according to Netflix shows to give its viewers a connection with the shows.
Now by introducing Netflix Popcorns, it again wants to connect with viewers at a deeper level. These steps directly increases the visibility of the brand and subconsciously retains the brand “Netflix” and its shows in the mind of viewers.
