This year, the Common Admission Process (CAP) is being conducted by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kashipur. Every year in October, the IIMs that participate in CAP release a tentative cut-off for the purpose of shortlisting candidates for Personal Interviews (PI). The final cut-off is determined subsequent to the announcement of the Common Admission Test (CAT) results. This year, following the release of the CAT results, the following cut-offs were chosen in order to shortlist applicants for the CAP 2024 PI process:Only percentile cut-offs will be used to determine the PI shortlist. Candidates who chose the flagship MBA/PGP programs at least one of the IIMs that participate in CAP (IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Jammu, IIM Kashipur, IIM Nagpur, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi, IIM Sambalpur, IIM Sirmaur, IIM Tiruchirappalli, and IIM Udaipur) during the CAT form submission process will be shortlisted.   In the second part of January, the Indian Institute of Technology will begin notifying candidates on the PI shortlist via email. IIM Kashipur has announced that the PI registration portal will open at approximately the same time. To take part in the PI process, each shortlisted candidate must register on the PI registration portal. To participate in the PI process under CAP 2024, you must complete the registration procedure.   The CAP 2024 PI will be administered online this year so that students won't have to travel to remote locations. In order to provide additional assistance to the candidates, they will have the opportunity to revise any errors they may have made in the areas of work experience and educational background on the CAT form. The normalized PI scores will also be displayed to candidates after the merit lists are declared.

Chandigarh schools are closed from January 8 to January 20.

Chandigarh closed its schools: Due to the current weather, the UT Chandigarh Director of School Education has extended winter breaks for classrooms up to the eighth grade. The Indian Metrological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Punjab and portions of Haryana. With safety precautions in place, the Delhi government has declared that all students would resume attending in-person courses.The Director of School Education of Chandigarh has ordered that the winter vacation for courses up to eighth grade be prolonged until January 20. It has been suggested that schools offer these classes online to their students. will instead begin on January 20, 2024."As a result of the current unfavorable weather and to protect kids from the intense cold, there won't be any in-person classes for students up to Class VIII at any government, government-aided, or recognized private schools in UT Chandigarh until January 20, 2024. For these subjects, the schools may set up online courses for their pupils," the official announcement stated. The notification goes on to say, "Until January 20, 2024, all Government, Government-Aided, and Recognized Private Schools of UT Chandigarh shall open for students not earlier than 9:30 AM and close no later than 4:00 PM. This applies to Class IX through XII." When setting the schedule for these sessions, the schools must consider the duration of the cold snap, particularly in the early morning and late evening, as well as the time the students need to spend traveling to and from school.In addition to giving school staff a break, the announcement enables schools to modify staff schedules as necessary.The Indian Metrological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Punjab and portions of Haryana for the next 48 to 72 hours due to the ongoing cold wave in northern India.

But as of right now, no announcement has been made by the authorities. Before, all schools in Noida and Greater Noida were told by the Gautam Buddh Nagar administration to declare holidays for pupils up to Class 8 until January 14."In compliance with the instructions given by District Magistrate Maneesh Kumar Verma in view of the dense fog and extreme cold, all the board (CBSE/ICSE IB, UP Board and others) affiliated schools (from Class nursery to 8) running in the district Gautam Buddh Nagar, will observe holiday till January 14," according to the official announcement. For the next five days, North India is expected to see dense to extremely dense fog, according to the IMD's forecast on Friday. Additionally, it had forecasted three days of cold day to extremely severe cold day wave conditions over the plains of Northwest India, followed by a decrease.No school, including double-shift institutions, is allowed to start courses earlier than nine in the morning, per the instruction. Practical Marks Upload Guidelines Are Released by CBSE for Schools

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued guidelines for schools to upload correct marks for practical examinations on its portal. According to a formal statement from the board, one of the primary duties of schools is to make sure that student results are accurately published on the board's portal. It emphasised that there should be no issues for students later on.CBSE Class 10, 12 practical exams were conducted from January 1 to February 15, 2024.  It has been noted that educational institutions occasionally overlook this duty and commit errors as a result. The board has been reminding schools periodically to take precautions to prevent errors when uploading the marks of practical, project, and internal assessments on the portal," the release said.   "While uploading the marks, the school principal, the internal examiner, and external examiner (as the case may be) shall ensure that correct marks are uploaded, as no correction in the marks will be allowed once they are uploaded. Schools and examiners shall also keep in mind the maximum marks allotted for practical project internal assessment in the subject, as per the guidelines issued by the CBSE," the CBSE stated.

Government Offering Course In High-Performance Computing, Check Details

New Delhi: A Master Training Program in High-Performance Computing (HPC) is being introduced by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). In the current technological landscape, high-performance computing (HPC) has become essential because it helps advance scientific research, solve complicated problems, and spur innovation in a variety of industries. The specialized program aims to produce trainers who can effectively educate and train others in various aspects of High-Performance Computing. Candidates having good knowledge of C programming language and using Linux Operating system are eligible to apply for the programme. These candidates must also be willing participate in conducting Faculty Development Programmes which are scheduled in April 2024 onwards, across the country. The application deadline is January 20, 2024. There will be two weeks of offline training and one week of online training as part of the program. The programme will begin on January 29, 2024. Two weeks of offline training will be conducted either at Pune or at Bengaluru. The C-DAC in Pune will begin from February 5-16, 2024. The C-DAC Bengaluru has been scheduled from February 12-23, 2024. This will include theory and hands-on sessions.

New Delhi: The dates for the JEE Main Session 1 exam are set for January 24–February 1. The exam window for Session 2 is April 1–April 15, 2024.  The exam for Paper 1 will be held for BE/BTech while that for both Paper 2A and Paper 2B will be conducted for BArch and B Planning. JEE Main-2024 Paper 1 will be held for BE/BTech in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only. The subjects for Paper 1 will include Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The question paper will have Objective Type - Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The questions will be asked for which the answer is a numerical value, with equal weightage to Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.For BArch, the Paper 2A will be administered. The BArch Drawing Test (Part-III) will be administered offline using pen and paper, while the Mathematics (Part-I) and Aptitude (Part-II) tests will only be administered online via "Computer Based Test (CBT)" mode. An A4-sized drawing sheet will be used to attempt the drawing test.    The Mathematics paper for BArch will also have Objective Type - Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and questions for which the answer is a numerical value.
