Mahindras-svelte-electric-SUV-is-hinted-at-by-XUVe8-design-patents-What-can-we-anticipate
With the launch of the XUV.e8, an electric version of their well-liked XUV700, Mahindra & Mahindra is preparing to increase the number of electric vehicles in their lineup. The corporation is currently testing prototypes of this new model, which has already been displayed in concept form. Mahindra has submitted for multiple design patents recently, covering the XUV.e8's appearance and interior. The design patents show that the XUV.e8 is very similar to the concept version that was previously presented, according to a report by HT Auto. Notable improvements include a new set of inverted L-shaped LED projector headlamps and a large LED lightbar that runs the length of the front of the car. Due to the lack of an internal combustion engine, the front bumpers have been altered and do not include the conventional grille.According to reports, the XUV.e8's side profile has aerodynamic wheel covers designed to improve air flow efficiency. The concept's flush-fitting door handles are still on the car. There aren't many modifications at the back, only a new bumper and an LED light bar, however the tail lamps should stay the same. The XUV.e8 will likewise have copper accents, just as the XUV400.Interior design elements, most notably a new two-spoke steering wheel, are also included in Mahindra's design patents. Four toggle switches are located on this hexagonal steering wheel, which has a red stripe at the top for controlling the infotainment system and instrument cluster. The lighted Mahindra emblem on the steering wheel is a novel touch that continues a trend observed in Tata cars. The revamped dashboard, which features a three-screen arrangement evocative of high-end automobile interiors, is another noteworthy interior upgrade. This comprises a passenger-side extra screen, an infotainment display, and an instrument cluster. With these improved technology features and style cues, Mahindra's electric vehicle portfolio is expected to gain something special with the XUV.e8.

Cars under Rs 5 lakh in India: 2 Maruti models, 1 from Renault, thats it!
There was a time when you could get several cars under Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. But now, things have changed. Cars have become expensive. The input costs have gone up and so have the prices of cars.Is there any car still left under Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom) in India? Only three to be exact! These are the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, Maruti Suzuki S-Presso and the Renault Kwid. Even in these cars, not all variants are priced below Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom). As we said, passenger vehicles (PVs) cost a lot more now. Let us find out more about these relatively affordable models. The Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 is the most affordable car in India right now. With the discontinuation of the Alto 800, we are now left only with the Alto K10. Two variants -- Std and Lxi -- of the Alto K10 can be had for less than Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom). While the Std variant is priced at Rs 3.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the Lxi trim is available for Rs 4.83 lakh (ex-showroom). These two come with the 1.0-litre K10C petrol engine (67PS of max power and 89Nm of peak torque) mated to a 5-speed MT. Only a single variant of the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is priced below Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom) and that is the Std variant at Rs 4.26 lakh (ex-showroom). It has the same engine as the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10, the 1.0-litre K10C petrol engine paired with a 5-speed MT. The Renault Kwid was once available with a 0.8-litre petrol engine. But now, it only gets a 1.0-litre petrol mill. Two variants of the Kwid are priced below Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom). There is RXE at Rs 4.69 lakh (ex-showroom) and RXL(O) at Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Both variants employ the 1.0-litre SCe petrol engine (68PS of max power and 91Nm of peak torque) coupled with a 5-speed MT.Another important aspect that needs to be noted here is that no 800cc car is on sale in India right now. We had the Alto 800 and the Kwid 0.8-litre once. But both were axed by their respective brands when the BS6 phase 2 norms became effective from April 1, 2023.

Hero Mavrick 440 review, first ride
Hero MotoCorp has been the number-one player in the world for a while now. But that has been solely on the premise of sales basis, which are dependent on entry-level commuter motorcycles. However, the company also aspires to become a strong player in the premium segment. As a result, we have seen the emergence of bikes like the Xpulse, Karizma XMR, and even the Harley-Davidson X440. But now comes the time to take on the king of the middleweight motorcycles with the Mavrick 440.The Mavrick 440 shares the same platform as the Harley-Davidson X440 which was co-developed by Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp. However, the Harley was conceptualised as a cruiser compared to the Hero which is more of a roadster. As far as the design is concerned, the Mavrick 440 looks better proportioned. The bike rides on 17in alloy wheels and features chunky 43mm telescopic forks up front. The headlamp is an all-LED affair and also comes with a sensor that activates the headlights when it goes dark. The instrument panel is an all-digital affair and comes with numerous functionalities, including Bluetooth connectivity. However, the unit is a bit small, and especially the tacho is hard to read on the go. Coupled with a wide handlebar, a comfortable 803mm seat height, and neutrally placed footpegs, the Mavrick 440 promises long hours of comfortable riding. The fuel tank is quite a large unit and can take in 13.5 litres of fuel. This promises a long range for the Mavrick 440. The fuel tank also houses a small USB charging port. With a phone mounted on the handlebar, this comes in handy for keeping devices charged on the go. At the back, the design is minimalist and is finished off with a small but bright H-pattern LED taillight. The rear mudguard though is quite a large one and a tail tidy would make this bike quite a looker. When it comes to the chassis, the Mavrick 440 uses the same Trellis frame as seen on the Harley X440. However, the rear section has been reworked to suit the roadster design. The engine too remains identical. The air-oil cooled 2 valve single displaces 440cc and offers 27bhp and 36Nm of torque. Hero has also worked on the exhaust note of the bike and not only does the exhaust look better designed, but also gets its unique soundtrack. The rear suspension is a twin-shock setup that is adjustable. The bike weighs in at 187kg which is a comfortable number for most to handle.

The interior of the 2025 Kwid undergoes a complete revamp, replacing the dated cabin of the current model with a more modern design. The large and chunky dashboard of the current Kwid is replaced by a more minimalist one. While there are new touch controls for important functions, the air-con is thankfully operated using physical controls. It also features sleeker AC vents along with a new 10-inch infotainment system that enhances the fresh appearance of the cabin. Safety features in the 2025 Kwid include multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, reverse camera with parking sensors, and select ADAS features such as lane keep assist and traffic sign recognition. The current Kwid is offered only with two airbags along with other standard safety kit. In India, Renault is expected to offer the 2025 Kwid with the current 68 PS/91 Nm 1-litre naturally aspirated engine, paired with either a 5-speed manual or AMT transmission. Later, they will likely introduce the Kwid EV with Spring EV’s powertrain specifications.
