Karmma Calling review: Enjoyably trashy, with a White Lotus flavor, is Raveena Tandon's Revenge version.Everyone in Alibag, that little haven of power and money just off Mumbai, is in shock when a strange young woman named Karmma parachutes in. Who is Karmma? From where does she originate? How on earth did she get to purchase the big beach property next to the wealthiest family in the world, the Kothari family? Many hornets in many nests are well and truly astir, and as the elegant, sophisticated Karmma (Namrata Sheth) begins to unpack her wares, we know that something twitchy is about to happen. She takes on resident diva Indrani Kothari (Raveena Tandon), who ruled Bollywood in the 1990s and is now the undisputed empress of her exclusive little patch, and she also catches the eye of the attractive Kothari scion Ahaan (Varun Sood). The show Revenge, adapted by Raveena Tandon, is lighthearted, trashy, and reminiscent of White Lotus. Everyone in the deeply fragrant, tightly knit community of Alibag, that little desert spring of honor and abundance just off of Mumbai, is in disbelief when a mysterious young woman walks in. Who is Karmma?
