India ranks fifth among the biggest passenger markets for Changi Airport in Singapore.

Changi Airport in Singapore, which handled 328,000 flights and 58.9 million passengers in 2023, saw a notable recovery, returning to 83% of pre-Covid-19 traffic levels. India ranked fifth out of the top five major passenger markets for the airport, according to official data. According to the latest data given by the Changi Airport Group (CAG), Indonesia was ranked first, followed by Malaysia, Australia, Thailand, and India. Interestingly, prior to the epidemic, India ranked sixth in terms of traveler volume at Changi Airport in 2019. In 2019, the airport registered 68.3 million passenger movements prior to the pandemic's impact. Compared to the 32.2 million passengers Changi Airport handled in 2022, the volume of passengers handled in 2023 increased by 83%.According to the data, Changi Airport handled 382,000 flights in 2019, while only 328,000 of those took off or landed there in 2023. The airport handled 16.1 million passenger movements between October and December 2023—a figure that exceeded 90% of pre-pandemic norms.

With 5.8 million passengers passing through the airport in December, it was the busiest month of the year. This corresponded to 91% of the traffic in December 2019. On December 22, the Friday before Christmas, the airport experienced its biggest day of the year, with 203,000 people traveling through its terminals. 30,400 aircraft arrived at or left the airport in December.
