When superstar Shah Rukh Khan prepares to perform at the Women's Premier League (WPL) opening ceremony for the second season, fans can't contain their excitement. There will be a star-studded opening ceremony for the second season of WPL. The King Khan was selected to be a star performer at the WPL opening ceremony, the WPL social media team announced on Wednesday. "Get ready, everyone—@iamsrk will be the one celebrating Cricket ka Queendom! A post on the WPL's X handle said, "Watch the #TATAWPL 2024 Opening Ceremony on @JioCinema& @Sports18LIVE from the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru."
At the opening ceremony, Tiger Shroff, Varun Dhawan, Shahid Kapoor, and Kartik Aaryan will all perform in addition to Shah Rukh Khan.
The Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians, the WPL's finalists from the previous season, will play in the opening game of the second season on February 23 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
The competition, which is being held in Bengaluru and Delhi, will run until March 17.
The eliminator is scheduled for March 15 and the summit match is scheduled for March 17 in New Delhi. Bengaluru and Delhi will host the upcoming edition. Every game will begin at 7:30 p.m.The inaugural event took place in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai in March 2023. This time, fans across India can expect a double dose of cricket fever as two energetic cities take center stage. The five teams vying for the coveted trophy are the UP Warriorz, Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Giants, and Royal Challengers Bangalore. They are all eager to put in their best effort.
The top three teams from the league stage will advance to the playoffs in the WPL's 2024 season, which will have the same format as the year before. The top team in the league standings will advance directly to the championship game, with the second and third-place teams playing in the Eliminator on March 15. The Mumbai Indians, captained by Harmanpreet Kaur of India, defeated Meg Lanning's Delhi Capitals by a margin of 7 wickets to win the inaugural season.
