Showtime trailer: Emraan Hashmi exposes Bollywood’s inner turmoil and power struggles in this Karan Johar show

Emraan Hashmi leads the Showtime cast, with Mouni Roy, Rajeev Khandelwal, Naseeruddin Shah and Shriya Saran playing key roles in this Karan Johar production. After revealing an intriguing first look, the makers of the Emraan Hashmi starrer Showtime web series have dropped the much-awaited trailer. The show's narrative trailer delves into the inner dynamics and politics of Bollywood, including the eternal nepotism debate. Along with Hashmi, Mouni Roy, Rajeev Khandelwal, Naseeruddin Shah and Shriya Saran will be seen in the lead roles in the series.
The trailer opens with Emraan Hashmi's character Raghu Khanna, the son of a well-known producer played by Naseeruddin Shah, proclaiming the legacy of the family studio. Raghu aims to make it a high-powered film and is focusing on making major Bollywood hits that generate significant profits. However, his approach is challenged by journalist Mahika Nandy, who is also trying to create her own niche as a filmmaker.
At one point of confrontation, Mahika boldly tells Raghu, "Aab maal bechiye mein filmy banaugi (You sell the product, I make films). Later, Emraani addresses the hypocrisy behind Raghu's statements. He says, "Nepotism ke mukhaute ke peeche aakhir mein. har outsider Insider banna chahta hai (After all, every outsider wants to become an insider behind the facade of nepotism)." The trailer stars Mouni Roy as an actor who struggles with many obstacles, while Rajeev Khandelwal portrays the struggle of an artist trying to stay relevant. The trailer also offers a glimpse of rapper Badshah's cameo appearance in the series.Showtime, Hotstar Original premieres on Disney Plus Hotstar on March 8. The series is created by Sumit Roy, co-directed by Mihir Desai and Archit Kumar and produced by Karan Johar's Dharmatic, the digital arm of Dharma Productions.
