An ‘unmarked’ swan created chaos along London’s railway system by taking residence on the tracks, bringing the entire train line to a standstill and pushing the boundaries of an age-old statute.Commuters attempting to depart from the London suburb of Bishop’s Stortford found themselves stranded as the swan confidently strutted about the tracks as if it were under royal ownership. As it turned out, it was. Instagram post breaks down the surprising ownership laws surrounding swans. In a nutshell: unmarked cygnet swans are Crown property, only the monarch can eat them (yes, seriously!) and nobles can mark them for ownership. Headed straight for Cambridge! Looks like the swan knew a thing or two about legal loopholes. After approximately 15 minutes, the swan grew tired and took flight, bringing relief to the disrupted railway operations. The video has gone viral now with over 53.8k views within a few hours.
