Nakul Anand, a renowned pioneer in the hotel and travel industries, leaves ITC after 45 years as president.

On January 2, 2024, Nakul Anand, one of India's most renowned and distinguished figures in the hotel and travel industries, announced his retirement as executive director of ITC. Anand made a significant contribution to raising ITC Hotels to new heights. In 1978, he began his career with ITC Hotels as a management trainee. Over the course of 45 years, he ascended to the company's highest ranks and assumed control of the hotel, travel, and tourism divisions.
Anand (67) received a heartfelt send-off from the ITC Green Centre in Gurgaon.According to the About Nakul Anand page on the ITC website, Anand has been recognized for his vision, dedication, and role as a thought leader in the travel and hospitality sector throughout the course of a career spanning more than 40 years. Drawing from ITC's commitment to sustainability, he has argued that hoteliers ought to adopt a sustainable business strategy. He has guided the ITC Hotels team in creating the first instance of "responsible luxury" in the hospitality sector by utilizing the important lessons learned from sustainable excellence within ITC. ITC Hotels is now known worldwide as the largest hotel chain with the most LEED Platinum certified buildings thanks to this dedication. In addition, Nakul oversaw the CII National Tourism Committee and the Hotel Association of India.
