These new travel destinations offer a variety of educational choices, easy immigration procedures, and appealing post-study employment opportunities. As a result, Indian students have access to more options for global employment. For a number of reasons, prospective students are now expanding their study abroad options, even if the major four nations—Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Australia—remain the top choices for foreign students, including Indians. Stricter visa requirements have resulted in a discernible drop in Indian students' enrollment in these nations. However, why have these nations restricted overseas students' access to visas? The UK continues to struggle with post-Brexit problems, including as economic difficulties and unfavorable attitudes toward immigrants. One major factor contributing to a potential drop in UK popularity is the rise in tuition fees, which is affected by government financing and institution rules. The country has become less appealing due to stringent visa regulations and rising living expenses.Canada has long been a welcoming country for immigrants. The number of Indian students in Canada increased by 182% between 2016 and 2019, according to data from the NFAP, which analyzes data on international students. However, Indian students now face a challenge as a result of the current strained diplomatic relations.

Lack of housing and employment possibilities, as well as growing antipathy toward Indian students, are further factors contributing to the problems. "Canada is experiencing a crisis on nearly all fronts, particularly in the areas of employment and housing. Additionally, animosity toward overseas students is on the rise. As a result, the number of student visas issued this year has drastically decreased, according to Bhargav Modi, EduGo Abroad's commercial director. Other reports have also anticipated a similar drop. Just over 2.31 lakh new study licenses will be issued by the end of 2024, a significant drop from the 4.36 lakh granted in 2023, according to ed-tech startup ApplyBoard.Despite changes in the cost of living and job prospects, the US remains a popular destination for Indian students, with over 2.50 lakh presently enrolled at US universities, according to Manisha Zaveri, joint managing director of Career Mosaic consultancy. This is in contrast to the UK, Australia, and Canada, which are forecasting a decline in the number of Indian students. The IIE Open Door Report states that there were 1,057,188 international students overall in 2022 and 2023, a 12% increase.According to University Living's founder and CEO, Saurabh Arora, the situation is ideal for Indians looking to expand their study abroad options. "New opportunities that may have previously gone unnoticed are presented by emerging study destinations and alternative pathways, which are becoming more accessible," Arora stated.
