The priceless decorations were taken apart and repurposed as couture, where each jewel was originally set atop manually made paper templates. The wearable piece of art was created by fusing various stitches of gold and silver Zardozi work with the jewelry pieces after rounds of artistic experimentation. Pre-wedding events began with a concert by Rihanna, which was her first in over seven years. Bollywood actors Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, and Shah Rukh Khan stole the show in the days that followed as they performed together on stage. International popstar Akon performed live at the celebrations, after Diljit Dosanjh.
