Because of the industry's cost-competitiveness and emphasis on product quality, India's share of global mobility supply chains is growing, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal stated on Friday. Speaking at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 here, he predicted that by the following year, the expo will surpass all other car shows in the world in size and become the global hub for the automotive industry.
"The mobility industry is now focusing on innovation and sustainability, and India is contributing more to global supply chains for mobility. The mobility industry in India is cost-competitive and prioritizes product quality, he stated. Goyal added that India has a significant edge in this field and that electric vehicles are reshaping the mobility industry. He pointed out that India is seeing a large number of first-time car purchasers, and encouraging them to purchase electric cars will have a significant positive impact on the ecosystem as a whole, lowering pollution levels and reducing the flow of foreign cash. According to him, the government is also concentrating on advancing battery technology and creating better automobile designs for the market.
