In response to the criticism and comments Lal Salaam received, Aishwarya Rajinikanth said, "As a learner and filmmaker, I am personally extremely satisfied." Since the movie is based on actual events, it doesn't contain any surprises or revelations of any kind. Because the story is clear-cut and uncomplicated, we decided to go with a non-linear pattern when given the choice. As a filmmaker, I was aware that different people saw things differently. I can improve myself, and that is the biggest lesson I have learned. I will accept praise and criticism equally and be happy."
