Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez came at the French Riviera on day three to represent Indian cinema, skipping the red carpet walk at the opening ceremony. She posted photos of her joy at being honored and recognized as one of the honorees at the "Women in Cinema" program. The Indian film industry is expected to send a stellar lineup to the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, which will include debutants Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter as well as event veterans like Aishwarya Rai. On Day 1 of the 78th annual film festival, a few others, like Urvashi Rautela and Payal Kapadia, already walked the red carpet. In a nod to the great Indian actresses, Nitanshi Goel, star of Lapataa Ladies, too made her debut walking in traditional attire.

In keeping with this year's dress code of "no nudity and no volume," the Kick star showed up at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival wearing a silver-toned outfit that included a white shirt, matching bottom, and bedazzled metallic silver chains that reached her waist. She looked stunning with her hair pulled back in a bun. A touch of elegance was added with matching earrings, black shoes, and minimal makeup. She was one of the top six international honorees recognized by the Red Sea Film Festival's new initiative, together with Rungano Nyoni, Sarah Taibah, Elham Ali, Amina Khalil, Engfa Waraha, and Gaya Jiji. With the caption, "Cannes Day 1 with @redseafilm," Jacqueline shared the photos with her followers on Instagram. I'm honored to be a part of the Women in Cinema campaign, which supports female filmmakers. #womenincinema #redseafilmfoundation #redseaiff.
