An interdisciplinary dual degree in data science is being offered at IIT Tirupati

The Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati has introduced a new Interdisciplinary Dual Degree (IDDD) in Data Science, allowing B.Tech students from any engineering discipline to earn an M.Tech in Data Science with just one additional year of study. The programme is designed to equip students with advanced skills in data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, analytics, and interdisciplinary problem-solving.

Under the new structure, students complete the first three years of their B.Tech programme in their core engineering branch and can then opt for the dual-degree track. By completing additional coursework, projects, and research requirements, they graduate with both a B.Tech degree in their original discipline and an M.Tech in Data Science after one extra year.IIT Tirupati said the programme aims to prepare engineers for emerging fields where expertise in data analytics, AI, and domain knowledge must be combined.
