A worldwide IT disruption on Friday caused some airlines to suspend flights and issued warnings about delays and unavailability of services.Massive interruption to CrowdStrike's cybersecurity business occurred early on Friday due to a software update. Businesses, such as Microsoft, were forced to work quickly to bring back services and apps that were utilized by a great deal of businesses.Airport check-in and flight update monitors worldwide showed the dreaded "blue screen of death," which is an indication of a Microsoft system fault. Pictures posted on social media included a handwritten boarding card for an IndiGo aircraft from India and a whiteboard at Belfast International Airport with flight updates.It appears like we are experiencing a true worldwide blackout for the first time.
Grzegorz Drozdz, a market analyst at Conotoxia, stated in an email that "the disruption affected not only individual users, but especially large institutions such as banks (including central banks), stock exchanges, airports, paralyzing operations during the peak holiday season and causing chaos in many other sectors."
