NEW DELHI: To facilitate women visitors coming with their infants, the Archaeological Survey of India will provide an air-conditioned breastfeeding cum child care room at Jantar Mantar (instruments for measuring the harmony of the heavens). It will start functioning within two and a half months, said officials.6 hours agoMoreover, a publication counter and an exhibition space will open at the same time. Childcare services can be found at a number of Delhi sites, such as the Red Fort, Purana Qila, and Humayun's Tomb.Superintendent archaeologist Praveen Singh (Delhi circle) confirmed this, estimating that the facility would probably be operational by July.Officials said that the daycare center's rooms are around 10 by 8 feet and can hold two to three women at a time. "Water, a changing table, and a single bed will be provided," an ASI representative stated. Additionally, a staff member will be on hand to ensure the privacy of nursing moms and assist them in visiting the monument.According to officials, this installation was supposed to have begun sooner but was postponed because of the National Green Tribunal's construction activity restriction. Now that the employed people have gone back to their own countries, work has resumed.Beside the nursing area, there will also be a functioning publication counter with books about the monument for sale. Books can be bought here by those who are interested in history and would like to know more about the nation's landmarks. There might possibly be a souvenir store established, but that choice hasn't been finalized yet.
The exhibition hall, which is 30 by 9 feet, will have all of the instrument names and characteristics. There will be staff on hand to help travelers who become lost.Sawai Jai Singh II constructed five observatories; the other four are in Jaipur, Varanasi, Ujjain, and Mathura. The Jantar Mantar in Delhi is one of them. All of them were constructed between 1724 and 1730 AD, when Aurangzeb's death had caused the Mughal Empire to fall. Astronomical observations were routinely conducted at the Delhi Observatory when it was finished in 1724 AD. A fresh collection of tables was created using these observations. With "yantra" denoting the instruments and "mantra" denoting the formula, Jai Singh named his observatory Jantar Mantar.
