Kolkata: A Bangladeshi couple is now worried about obtaining a visa to travel to the city for the child's post-surgery examination after their nine-month-old boy was given new life after receiving treatment for a rare condition at a Kolkata hospital. Ridwan Habib Ilham, a baby from Bangladesh's Jessore district, was diagnosed with "craniosynostosis," a condition in which the skull bones fuse too soon, impeding brain development and ultimately resulting in an aberrant head shape.

"After a successful reconstructive surgery at a private hospital in Kolkata, we brought our child back to Bangladesh," the baby's father, Ahsan Habib Rubel, told PTI from Benapole in the neighboring country.
