New judges have been appointed to the Allahabad and Kerala High Courts by the President of India, in consultation with the Chief Justice of India (CJI), in accordance with the Constitution of India. By elevating Additional Judges to Permanent Judges, these appointments would fortify the legal system in two of the nation's most important High Courts.The appointments are made in accordance with Article 217 of the Indian Constitution, which gives the President of India the authority to name High Court judges following consultation with the Chief Justice of India, the Governor of the relevant State, and the Chief Justice of the relevant High Court.
