The largest IT company in India, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), announced the establishment of a specialized Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Services Transformation Unit, marking a significant milestone for the nation's IT sector. With effect from September 2025, Amit Kapur, a TCS veteran with more than 20 years of expertise, has been named by the firm to lead this new division.This move comes as client spending has stalled due to global macroeconomic uncertainties, forcing IT companies to shift their focus to growth driven by AI.
