Sanjeev Ranjan appointed as road transport secretary in bureaucratic reshuffle

New Delhi: According to an order from the personnel ministry, senior IAS officer Sanjeev Ranjan has been appointed as secretary of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) in a major bureaucratic reshuffle carried out by the central government. Currently, Ranjan, who is an IAS officer from the Tripura cadre (1985 batch), serves as the chairman of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). He has received the appointment of officer on special duty in MoRTH.The order stated that Ranjan will assume the role of MoRTH secretary starting 1 April 2019, following the retirement of Yudhvir Singh Malik at the end of this month.Nagendra Nath Sinha is set to take over from Ranjan as the new head of NHAI.

The managing director of the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation is N.N. Sinha. He will also continue to hold the additional responsibility of this position.Panwar, who serves as special secretary and financial adviser in the Ministry of Home Affairs, will assume the role of OSD in the Women and Child Development Ministry until Srivastava retires. Bhupendra Singh, who is the chairman of the National Authority for Chemical Weapons Convention, will replace Panwar as special secretary and financial adviser in the Home Ministry.Ruolkhumlein Buhril, a senior bureaucrat, will take over as secretary of the Department of Land Resources, replacing Anant Kumar Singh, who is retiring at the end of this month. Buhril serves as the secretary for the Inter State Council Secretariat within the Home Ministry. He will assume the role of OSD in the Department of Land Resources, which is part of the Ministry of Rural Development.
