Rising airline ticket costs drive families to choose road trips over flights for domestic travel

"My family's return ticket for the trip, which involved two children, came to '60,000 in total. We made the decision to drive. Our expenses came to around '20,000. We travelled at a comfortable speed to get to Udaipur."
The trend of road travel has also been aided by an increase in the number of women who can drive and an increase in the sales of large and mid-range cars in urban areas. India's airlines are up against competition from both external and industry sources. Families with four members who own cars are planning longer vacations (at least a week) and travelling longer distances (less than or equal to 1,000 km) by rail (particularly the Vande Bharat) or by car using motorways. And the high cost of airline tickets is the cause of this.

He also mentioned that when traveling alone, people still like taking flights for trips shorter than 1,000 kilometers.
