Unilever keeps refining the brands in its portfolio. The FMCG giant has agreed to buy "biotech" hair care brand K18, following the news that Elida Beauty would be sold to private equity firm Yellow Wood Partners.K18, a rapidly expanding company that combines science and cosmetics, was founded in 2020 by Suveen Sahib and Britta Cox. K18's six-product line is a favorite among experts and customers alike since it helps to pinpoint and treat the root causes of hair damage. The company was at the forefront of utilizing social media to inform and involve customers about hair science. K18 is mostly supplied in North America, the UK, and Australia through professional salons, retail, and eCommerce.
This acquisition enhances our rapidly expanding collection of high-end, culturally significant consumer brands. Vasiliki Petrou, CEO of Unilever Prestige, said, "What Suveen, Britta, and the team have created is a testament to the importance of brands built on unparalleled science, product efficacy, and community love."
