An official stated that various airspace limitations will be in effect in Delhi for 11 days, commencing on January 19 and lasting until January 29, in honor of Republic Day. The official also stated that the restrictions will not affect regularly scheduled aircraft.According to the official, chartered flights and non-scheduled flights of scheduled airlines will not be allowed to land or take off between 10 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. on January 19–25, PTI said. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has issued a NOTAM stating that these limitations will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on January 26 and 29. A NOTAM, or Notice to Airmen, is a notification that provides vital information to those working on flight operations.
Furthermore, NOTAM will not affect IAF, BSF, Army aviation helicopter operations, or state-owned aircraft/helicopters that are in flight with a state's governor or chief minister. The largest airport in the nation, Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in the nation's capital, serves about 1,300 flights every day.According to the Delhi Police, on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 10.15 am to 12.30 pm, there will be restricted traffic flow at the Kartavya Path-Rafi Marg Crossing, Kartavya Path-Janpath Crossing, Kartavya Path-Mansingh Road Crossing, and Kartavya Path-C Hexagon. Moreover, all traffic will be prohibited from using the Kartavya Path between India Gate and Vijay Chowk throughout the rehearsal schedule. The authorities have issued a warning, stating that traffic may be rerouted to alternative routes as a result of these restrictions, potentially causing congestion. It has been recommended that drivers plan ahead for their trip and heed the in-the-moment instructions given by the traffic officials on the scene.
