A thirty-three-year-old woman from the Banda district of Uttar Pradesh was accused of killing a four-month-old child and was scheduled to be executed in Abu Dhabi. The Foreign Minister informed the court that Shehzadi Khan was put to death on February 15, 2025, in compliance with UAE laws and regulations.According to the ministry, they and the Indian embassy in Abu Dhabi will help her family members fly to Abu Dhabi so that the final ceremonies could take place on March 5.Shahzadi Khan, who was facing a death sentence in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the death of a child in her care, was put to death on February 15, the ministry of external affairs said the Delhi high court on Monday.with December 19, 2022, the 33-year-old caretaker, who lives in the Banda area of Uttar Pradesh, traveled to Abu Dhabi with a tourist visa. She resided with a couple in Abu Dhabi after they secured a caretaker visa for her and hired her to look after their baby boy.

The couple accused her of killing their baby and turned her over to the Abu Dhabi police in February 2023. The court of first instance sentenced her to death on July 31, 2023, and the appellate court upheld that sentence on February 28, 2024. She was incarcerated at the Al Wathba central jail before to her passing.Before a bench of justice Sachin Datta, the ministry, represented by additional solicitor general (ASG) Chetan Sharma, stated that the ministry and the Indian embassy in Abu Dhabi will provide support for her family members' travel to Abu Dhabi to carry out the final rites, which were scheduled for March 5.
