The Indian Ocean 2024 awards have been announced by World Travel Awards, the premier organization that honors and recognizes excellence in travel and tourism. The region's premier industry gathering, Arabian Travel Market, opens today, coinciding with the announcement.Numerous honors were bestowed upon the Maldives in recognition. India's Leading Honeymoon Destination, India's Leading Green Destination, India's Leading Dive Destination, and India's Leading Leading Destination were all awarded to the beautiful islands. Taking home the titles of "Indian Ocean's Leading Beach Destination" and "Indian Ocean's Leading Nature Destination," the Seychelles also triumphed. "Indian Ocean's Leading Adventure Tourism Destination" was proclaimed for Mauritius.Within the highly competitive hospitality industry, Vakkaru Maldives emerged victorious as the "Indian Ocean's Leading Resort" and Conrad Maldives Rangali Island was victorious as the "Indian Ocean's Leading Hotel." The resort known as "Indian Ocean's Most Romantic" is Coco Bodu Hithi in the Maldives. Additionally, Cora Cora Maldives had a great performance, taking home the title of "Indian Ocean's Leading All-Inclusive Resort."The award for "Indian Ocean's Leading New Resort" went to Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island, an eco-friendly sanctuary.Air Mauritius took home the titles of "Indian Ocean's Leading Airline" and "Indian Ocean's Leading Airline-Business Class," among other aviation accolades. "Indian Ocean's Leading Airline - Economy Class" and "Indian Ocean's Leading Cabin Crew" were won by Air Seychelles."Our winners represent the very best of the Indian Ocean's travel and tourism, and my congratulations to each of them," says World Travel Awards founder Graham Cooke.
