India to Japan is now easier thanks to Air India's new routes and airport relocation.

By extending their codeshare with ANA, Air India will be able to cut travel times in half by operating flights to Tokyo's Haneda airport.In addition to moving its operations in Japan to Haneda airport, which is closer to Tokyo, Air India stated on Monday that it was extending its codeshare agreement with All Nippon Airways (ANA).The airline will replace its current flights to Narita International Airport (NRT) with four weekly flights from Delhi to Haneda Airport (HND) in Tokyo starting on March 31.

According to a release, Haneda airport, which is 18 kilometers from downtown Tokyo, reduces the journey time to Tokyo station from about an hour by car (70 kilometers from Narita) to about 30 minutes. Additionally, the carrier and ANA have extended its codeshare arrangement."Starting on April 1, 2025, Air India will implement its 'AI' designator code on ANA's flights between Tokyo Haneda and six other Japanese cities: Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Nagoya, Okinawa, Osaka, and Sapporo, subject to the necessary regulatory permissions. According to the press release, this will enable Air India passengers to visit any of these locations using a single ticket, with their luggage checked the whole way.
