In Railway, Satish Kumar took over as member (Traction & Rolling).

On January 5, 2024, Shri Satish Kumar assumed responsibility for the position of Member (Traction & Rolling Stock) in the Railway Board within the Ministry of Railways. He belongs to the 1986 batch of mechanical engineers from the Indian Railway Service. Having worked for Indian Railways for 34 years, Shri Kumar began his career in March 1988. He was General Manager of North Central Railway, Prayagraj, prior to joining the Railway Board as MTRS.Prior to this, Shri Kumar had a variety of positions at NER, Patiala Locomotive Works, Diesel Locomotive Works, Varanasi, Jhansi Division, and Gorkahpur. In 1996, he received training in Total Quality Management through a UNDP program, and throughout his career, he has managed numerous projects.In addition, he served as the Northern Railway's Divisional Railway Manager for the Lucknow Division from April 2017 to April 2019.

While serving as the DRM for Lucknow, he completed a great deal of infrastructure development.On January 5, Seema Kumar assumed responsibility for the role of Member (Operations & Business Development) and Satish Kumar assumed the role of Member (Traction & Rolling Stock) at the Railway Board.
