Hardik Pandya, the captain of the Mumbai Indians, has been punished for his team's poor overrate in Friday's (May 17) IPL 2024 final match against the Lucknow Super Giants.Similar to the one imposed on Rishabh Pant earlier in the season, Hardik has been suspended for one match because this is the third time MI has been found guilty of the same offense. Hardik's suspension will, however, extend to the 2025 Indian Premier League since MI has already qualified for the competition and played its final league game last night.Regardless of where Hardik plays in the IPL 2025 after the huge auction, the suspension will remain in place. 50% of the match money, or INR 12 lakhs, has been penalized to the remaining members of the squad.Following his comeback to the team, Hardik had a dismal first season as the Mumbai Indians captain.
Even more significantly, the five-time champions finished the season as the only team to finish with fewer than ten points, finishing in last place. He averaged just eighteen at bat.
